1. What is the main reason for investors to leave the cryptocurrency business to date?
2. Will there be a repeat of the trust, making investors interested again?

The main reason why investors leave the market is unreasonable risks. Every second project is fraudulent. According to CryptoAware, in 2018 alone, investors lost more than 670 million dollars due to fraud and hacker attacks.
Investor confidence can be returned, but it requires a number of actions aimed at eliminating fraud and stabilizing the crypto market.

You are right. As I also know, investors have indeed suffered huge losses throughout 2018 and up to now. Of course it makes curse and trauma, not only money but a loss of time that should not be lost in vain. I hope ICO project offers features that can re-attract investors.

There will be many more surges in future. What's the point for crypto businesses to lose such an interesting and profitable market? The infrastructure develops very rapidly, second layer solutions will make BTC even closer to mainstream. There is no other reason than the fact that,they are loosing their money to scam projects, investors have lost confidence in most of the projects that are coming up now.

Investors have not been fixed since mid-2018 to date, maybe they have been harmed through the time and funds they have provided so it will be very difficult to restore investor confidence in cryptocurrency, one way is to improve each ico project through potential price and development aspects .

I have great hopes that in 2019 people will no longer have such a great sense of greed as it was before. Now it seems to me that all this looks very, very sad, if you understand that now most of the people actually have experience in scam projects.

Many people have been scammed last year so that's one of the main reasons. Trust can be gained so I believe those who went away will come back as long as they feel safe and secured.

So many projects have failed some investors and they are not even ready to pay attention to good projects that much. Well, I can still see some investors who have interest in investing.
Some of them are actually waiting for the coins to be listed on exchange before buying, because they are being careful of scam projects.

Many ICOs scammed people and many projects failed making direct loss to investors this is the main reason investor are now not much interested in investing in any new ICO until it shows some signs of positively. I think market sentiments will change and time will come when there will much money coming in the market, all we need to do is to wait patiently for the right time. Cryptocurrencies should be back on track soon.

Obviously, we are in the bear market, and most of them doesn't like this marketing conditions because there's no huge money to make.

Even though I am only a bounty hunter, but I really feel what they (investors) are feeling. So many scams and fewer projects provide significant benefits. I think there are some of them waiting for bright and green market conditions.

Wrong impressions by many who move in without proper knowledge, investors who tried their luck around mostly quit after suffering from a big lost that happen from the previous year, people who got stucked and trapped with investment that they've got especially with ico's who failed to deliver, possibilities are still there that crypto investors will showed up again, after they've learned from previous lessons and begin to study what market can trully deliver.

So far i think that, It will be a  good year. Lot's of interesting ICO are coming. One of them is Oath Protocol is a very good project and it has some great features which should be needed for the future.

I think most investors kept away from ICOs due to the market situation which also affected the success of ICOs. Majority of ICOs failed last year because the market had been in a bad condition for almost a year. Project development and funds are difficult to accumulate. Let's hope something will change this year.

investors may already know that there will be a long bear market so they leave crypto temporarily. I am sure that there will be a repeat of investors going back to victory. maybe in 2020 investors will begin to switch to crypto.

Last year the price got pumped so hard and the price was ridiculously high, based on investment logic. The higher it gets, the bigger it falls. So they're waiting for it to get dumped so hard, and here we are.

2. It is more like interest instead of trust, traders and investors are always looking for profit. As long as it goes back to its profitable range, the investors and traders are going back to the ship absolutely.

What is there to discuss. The project is coming out. The price of the project is below acceptable. Everything. Investors do not make a profit. I think this is the first reason why cryptocurrency soon exhausts its resources.

I think that the market will be launched again by whales, and after the price of Bitcoin and altcoins starts moving up, people will start buying cryptocurrencies in pursuit, which will stimulate the market. Wall street should also have a significant impact on cryptocurrencies.

the reason is that the market is like a long storm. many investors are afraid to survive. if only there was a big pump or maybe the news that made people come back. many say there will be mirrored repetitions from the past after the dump will always have a bull run, but until now nothing like that has happened

if based on past experience, they will come back and I'm sure of that. investors are currently waiting until prices are at the lowest point. so they can buy cheap before the big pump arrives.

I think that we would have another bullish trend that would beat all the historical price records. The reason to invest now are such low prices and I am sure as soon as the market recovers we won't see anything like this for a long period of time.

I think that this year there will be new investors who will analyze the future prospects of the whole cryptocurrency market.

Scam ICOs are to blame  why investors are no longer investing in cryptocurrency. They don't want to loose more money so most of the investors have shifted to forex. Tokens that are listed on exchange have low value than ICO. Some don't even have volume or buyers. Developers just list their tokens on exchange and leave their project.
Trust should be given back to investors. It may take time.

Well, I think every day there are new investors in the market, but I also think that this year of course the cryptocurrency will gain momentum and the investor will again come to the market!

I do not invest since more than year. With few reasons.
1. Scams and not profitable to buy from ICO, it is much much cheaper to buy after from exchanges.
2. I will start to invest again. When: a) ICO will be regulated to avoid scams. b) after market will recover, and it will make sense to buy during ICO

Of course , there are very few investors in such a market , since no one wants to buy tokens at such a low level, everyone expects a further fall, but I think by the end of the year an investor can come !

They leave because of the failure of many ICO, and there is practically no opportunity to trade. At the pumps and shitkoin few people agree to invest. So we are finally waiting for real action for their return from large corporations.

People that have zero knowledge about cryptocurrency invested in cryptocurrency when the last bullrun occur ,they jump in thinking bitcoin will rise over 20k and now the bullrun is gone are those who can't endure to keep sold off at loss ,this make many investors lose interest and sold off

Actually that's also what I'm thinking, those people who are taking some break inside crypto currency market are also looking for some good opportunities, not all of them are frustrated because of sudden loses maybe most of them who didn't study much, but after this bearish condition and the pump begins, healthy market will bring investors back.

Low movement, slow movement, most of the time low price stays at a very long time. And many doesn't like this kind of phasing, most of those investors that doesn't like this kind of phasing are only for the quick buck scheme that they had knew by witnessing 2017's all time high days.

it is true that the ICO 2018 is indeed the worst, arguing that there are many ICO frauds, in 2016 ICO only offered white paper in a short amount of time to raise a lot of funds, but now it takes months, to reach softcap is very difficult, this shows many ICO investors no longer interested

Talking about investors leaving crypto space, we all know is mainly because sometimes buying into ICOs can have a negative impact or holding some coins after dip is usually disheartening. Nevertheless, talking about trust, crypto is going no where, it will be here for as long as possible and I believe the future is bright for us all, but patience is highly required. Please when bringing in new investors, always let them know crypto is not a quick money platform, tell them everything they need to know so they don't get disappointed.

some investors left the cryptocurrency because the market was down at that time and almost a year the market had experienced a very drastic decline, especially with the ICO after achieving success but after entering the exchange price it was getting lower so investors might not be interested anymore, and many ico scams.

As they said investors left the crypto market on the year 2018,but for me they don't they just waiting for the market recovers and they are waiting for a good ico to invest. because they dont want to lose money . as simple as that so this year probably more investors will be part of crypto market so market will survive.

I would think that if Big investors / funds will join crypto then everybody else will follow them . Not sure if big investors left crypto , maybe they accumulating little by little . We just need to wait for ETF decision and bakkt exchange , then hopefully we will see some action in market =]

IMHO there is no volume on the market for the big investor. You can't sell anything you bought. Very low liquidity even on big coins.

For the main reason why cryptocurrency investors will leave is lack of patience and trust on cryptocurrency because of the negative outcome of the prices of the tokens. they haven't enough confidence to risk their investment on it.
Typical Investors will give their trust if the cryptocurrency make the price higher and gives a lot of profit on the investors. this always a scenario that we counter every year  :)

It seems to be hard for now, not actually we gain more profits instead of many losses we have. We get affected for these dumps, it surely it losses our hopes by then. But we need to be strong and to move on in order for us to survive from this troubled market. I know it will be back those times of happiness.

Having in a long time of dips will seems to be a challenge for us and of course for the investors. They are the big player in this market and with there influence will make the market bounce back. But they are not in the full control of the marker and so they can't move it easily. May there support will still remain until it will last.

Investors leave the market because all hopes of its recovery are being lost. There are big risks of losing investments and more. To stop all this, we need at least some guarantees, stability, which we don’t have now.

Maybe investors for this year will be returning most of them since projects are now working as STO which stands for Security Token Offering where one can guarantee that his/her investment is in good hands of the team handling the project. That is if the project itself is not planning any exit-scam or something. In the end, there is still a big risk.

Actually, we are now so careful in making investment because we learned a lot of lessons from the crashed of the market that happened last year ago, we are now planning and studying well before entering the market because we know the consequences that we can face if we are not well prepared.

The main reasons why there are less investors is due to bearish market that is been around for several months, new investors are approaching the market with great caution.

It's feasible for investor's trust on market to set in later on if there's a positive change in the bearish trend and all that is required is just an event that could trigger market price, an example is BAKKT.

To answer the number one question, the reasons why 8nvestors seem to be leaving is very simple... The depreciating price of almost all Altcoins in the Cryptocurrencies market..
To answer the second question, I think the right answer is the opposite of the answer to question number one... Bullrun.

2019 looks quite bright and I am not just saying it for the sake of saying it.. once the bullrun returns, there would be an influx of new investors in this sector and trust would be the last thing on their mind, they would be all about the profit, the trust can come once they realise that it is more than profit and start studying the technology behind it.

Well for those that got in last 2017 and was subjected to the horror of last  year, it was a pretty good lesson. Hopefully most of us understood that crypto and bitcoin is just like any other investment that you can't just rely on hype but required time and effort.

In 2019, the majority of investors went into standby mode, because now a huge number of projects are really considered to be very, very similar to scam projects, in spite of the people who now already exist on websites.

I think investors just realized it is smarter to invest into crypto business than crypto itself. For example if you are going to just hold a coin, why buy a coin and just keep it on an exchange? At the simplest you can buy a staking coin and let it stake, or a masternode and let it earn.

At a higher level you can invest into a casino bankroll, even further you can buy bnb and be part of an exchange, you can basically put your money into crypto business instead of buying a coin, look at cryptokitties and bakkt, investors could have bought kitties but no they invested into the cryptokitties company instead of kitties itself, people could buy or sell from bakkt deal but no they invested into bakkt itself. So, long story short people realized its better to invest with bitcoin instead of invest into bitcoin.

I agree, everyone is now expecting a bullish trend, everyone does not want to enter the market and lose money as now , I think by the end of the year many people will start to return to the market!

I agree with you about infrastructure as well as technology that will develop greatly, but it still takes a while. Because of scam ico projects, many investors have left the market. I see that as the main reason why there are so few investors at the moment. In addition, the prices of tokens after the ico usually fall and investors can not make a profit. Unfortunately, no one invests with such prospects for no profit.

Well, I agree with your opinion. one part of the reason they (investors) left was because the crypto market did not provide a profitable space and they switched to looking for more promising places or businesses. I myself am also aware of that plausible reason. This is sad,

There is going to be a replacement of trust in the ICO system when the market returns to normal, many people who exits are just waiting for the green market to return to normal, once there is green, anything is possible.

I think we need the biggest whale to attract other whales to invest again into cryptocurrency. They are connected and once they pull us up, this will trigger the entry of the bull phase in the market.

So many investors got scammed and lost their investments that they are not investing anymore. The whole market is declining for more than a year and it was almost impossible for an average investor to make profit. If it truly happens that some investors left, it is normal, because my assumption is that they just went on recess. They will still come back, by the time the market recovers.

It would be hard to regain trust from people who had great loss last year from them but will definitely invest again when the bull run comes. I think one of the reasons why investors leave crypto is reports of scams flooding industry. Every day, more and more ICOs, and crypto projects are reported scamming and running away with investors money. Investors wanted security and stay away from projects where there is no assurance of there investments.

According to my thinking like this,
1. investors start leaving cryptocurrency maybe they have lost trust, because market price is always down and they think, they can't get a profit there.
2. investors can return to trust if market conditions start to improve as they used to, and investors might be interested in trading on cryptocurrency again.

This is true for some people but not everybody. Some projects are still attracting a lot of investors with a lot of new money being invested. You have to choose the right ICOs and stay away from the scams.

At present in the fact that a lot of fraud occurs. there are so many things that reduce the level of trust in digital currencies. Among them are many failed projects so that many investors lose some of their assets, besides that the rampant hacking action against exchange is a security issue that has a negative impact on public trust. something like this must be monitored, because if not then the situation will get worse and we will find it difficult to deal with it someday.

I believe some investors lose confidence especially for people who got a loss in the last year and they cannot recover until now. They decide to leave the market because they are desperate with the market itself and they ask about when the market can recover. But for the other investor, they still buy more and more cryptocurrency because they believe that the time for the market to recover will arrive and they need to be patient. They don't give up to buy any coins because they are expecting that what they bought today will give a big profit in the future.

Investors will come to the market immediately when they see more favorable conditions for the growth of their investments. Up to this point everyone will wait and hope.

Investors in 2019 should be more skillful for them to have returns from their investments. We should improve our skills in order to become more productive than before. We experienced how hard to earn profit last year so we should be more skillful for us to not experienced loss again.

We must learned from that past market and try to build a better one, investors who really wanted to be successful from any field that they've choose should have the guts to keep being positive, being keen and always be ready to every trials  inside the market will give you enough understanding
to decide when to make a good stop and entry position.

There are some have already learned a lot from the past experience and there was a lot of investors are leaving the crypto space caused by that. Investors must become smart person before try to put their money on the risk. The artificial sustained bear market.  History will look back on this era of crypto as the volatility period.  A time when the controllers still controlled the ups and downs of the crypto markets and used them to try destroy sentiment and cause out-sized losses for investors before the main adoption phase began.  People avoid markets that are suppressed and controlled.  Rich people never get involved unless the table is tilted in their favor.  They have the fiat markets rigged in their favor, and currently have a pretty good grip on the crypto markets with such thin liquidity levels.  One of the things smarter investors learned in 2018 is that these markets truly are being exploited and until things change somehow, most will remain on the sidelines.  When the public starts funneling money into the crypto markets, the controllers will lose the control they have now, and the investors will begin to pile in again.


2. Will there be a repeat of the trust, making investors interested again?

Full decentralization is the requisite requirement in order to restore full trust in various crypto systems.  Some of the projects are heading in the right direction, but most are not there yet - this is also one of the reasons the public hasn't jumped on the bandwagon yet.  That and the propaganda put out by the govs and corps is having the desired effect of scaring people away from something that represents freedom.  What does that tell you?  It tells me people like their fiat slavery.  Until that changes, all we can do is spread the word to other individuals and visualize a future where people are transacting daily in various cryptocurrencies.

Investors stop paying attention to new projects for two reasons:
1. Reduced revenue. Only one of twenty projects can make a profit. That in my opinion is not worth the risk.
2. Recently, there are more and more scammers who steal investors' money. This does not benefit the crypto market.
