The whitepaper is not out yet (hence the pre-announcement), but I would like to hint that I am working on a new project called Sora (www.sora.org).

Sora is what I call a DAE (a decentralized autonomous economy). It's a new type of economic system where all participants in the economy decide how to mint new tokens (XOR). To find out more, feel free to ask questions here or in our chat: www.sora.org/chat

I took a look at your project and it looks interesting.

One major difference between Sora and Umbrella is that Sora uses an inflationary economic model where productive goods and services receive and allocation of newly minted tokens, rather than receiving investment from others. Sora's token, XOR, is also not a security token and doesn't aim to be, as there are no dividends paid. Rather, XOR aims to be a shared token used across all the goods and services that receive an allocation of newly minted tokens.

In Sora, we calculate the reputation of everyone who participates in the decision making (voting) for the creation of new tokens. People who make good decisions that benefit the economy will get a higher reputation, which equates to more voting power. In this way, the economy has a positive feedback loop that encourages people to participate and make long-term, beneficial decisions about what goods or services get an allocation of newly minted tokens.

We just changed a few parts of our model, so I need to update the paper still. It will take a little bit longer. The implementation of the system is mostly done, however.

The point is that instead of creating new tokens for economically non-productive uses, if tokens are created for expanding the economy then it is much easier to create a decentralized economy.

You just described inflation, the opposite of what bitcoin aims at.

Maybe you can bring up a better explanation unless inflation is what you mean.

I should put out that we are technologists and working to implement the platform. Creating an economy cannot be done by us but needs to be done by everyone working together.

Bitcoin may not aim at inflation, but it has inflation (up to 21 mil). The point I would like to make is that inflation isn't bad. If it is used productively (to create new goods/services) then inflation is a very good thing. What is bad is debasement, which can happen if you inflate for non-productive uses.

Votes will be distributed via a mobile app and then the votes can be given to projects. If a project receives the votes it needs, then new tokens are created and distributed to the project.

Whitepaper is an important and mandatory document that you have to publish to the public as a manifestation of your project so that Sora has clear and easy-to-understand the goals

It will be published when we are happy with the presentation. We aren't doing an ICO and the project isn't launched yet either, so there is not a huge rush. We received valuable feedback from the draft we put out in the telegram chat and are making improvements now.

But I think the whitepaper is by its nature somewhat long and harder to understand. If you have any questions about the project, feel free to ask them here.

Also I am so amazed on how this proof-of-concept on this sora chain affects the economy. Our strategy is a bit non-traditional, as we are trying to create real economic fundamentals and not go for a hype cycle. We will start a public test of the app soon and start to release more information from then on.

I'm loving it so far! Will there atleast be a desktop version?

A lot of people, especially in Asia, prefer mobile, so that has been the main focus. A desktop version is also possible, but will take some time.

For a wallet for XOR, the D3Ledger.com tech that we also made can be used, as that has a desktop app that supports multisig.

A good friend introduced me to the app a couple of weeks ago and I have made a few coins just for using it, i am really curious to see this project unfold as time passes!

Thank you for your comments! We plan to release a new version of the testnet app on Monday (tomorrow) and then if there are no problems, the project should launch in the first half of October. The next version of the testnet app allows withdrawal from the Sora network to Ethereum (as an ERC20 token) and back to the Sora network again. Building this system has taken 2 years of work.

I am not a DEV but since I am closely following the project I can say with good certainty that at the moment there are no bounties running and you can't buy XOR, at least not from an exchange as it is not listed yet anywhere. Perhaps you can get some coins directly from a user... Other than that, the only way to get involved is to download the app and use it to vote the various projects that pop up, and in return you might get some coins for free in the future.

Well, actually you aren't late at all. SORA just came out beta  and mainet launched only a week or something ago! I'd say you actually came early. Download the app, get into the telegram, and join the fun !

I think nothing is wrong with 500+ real users that are not bots. Compared to other chats with 8000+ users, our chat is more active, which hints that we have more real people than other projects. There are 1000 weekly users of the app, which is not bad for two weeks after launch.

Our marketing strategy is to focus on marketing for the projects (goods and services) that are created in the Sora economy, rather than focusing on promoting the token directly. People are tired of being shilled about tokens and altcoins and rather want to see results. Projects like Noir (https://www.drinknoir.com) are great because they already have something ready and for sale, contributing to the Sora economy.

The Sora token is called XOR and it will be on some exchanges in 2-3 weeks. For now, if you install the app and vote regularly, you will likely get some XOR for free after exchange listing, because 1% of the XOR created to be given to projects will be randomly distributed to users who voted.

No one sees these projects because there is no way of knowing when they post on the app.

Well, that's true. It would be nice if a notification popped up or something to notify about new or upcoming projects.

What works for me is simply opening the app once every day. Also I am on the telegram where usually somebody will mention it or something.

The telegram chat and twitter are the main distribution methods currently. I think the team will add push notifications for new projects soon as well.

In addition, we are exploring some bounties, so there will be more ways for people to interact in the Sora community  8)

XOR cannot be mined. Instead it is minted by referendum. People who want to create some product, like a new good or service, propose it to the community and then new XOR are minted and distributed if the community votes for it.

People often ask me about the distribution and minting of XOR.

In October 2019, 1,618,033,988.74989484820458683437 v1 XOR were created and given to Soramitsu Helvetia. There was no value to these tokens at the time and there were no lock-ups. They were distributed to various Soramitsu entities, advisors, and employees. In after the v2 launch, these tokens will become another token.

OMG What so special about XOR that exploded in just a short period of time from $1 to $100 in just a month? I this organic demand or just a PnD activity? Im really curious those who bought last month are now in very huge profit.

Indeed the growth is very nice over the last month, and XOR is not shilled over the space like other coins/projects. Looking at the volume ($ 8M+) I don't think is a PnD, looks good imo.

Good observation and Hex2T is also on its way just like Sora.

Both have very good futures ahead.

It is nice to see that this project is soaring high. If you do really have actual applications in the market, you will survive. You have a lot of SORA projects already, are you by any chance exploring other businesses to venture with this coming year? Conquering more businesses will give you more reason to be valuable in the market.

I noticed SORA $XOR trading on Bitget and gaining more attention. I would just like to know how SORA project would execute further milestone

Sorry to break it to you but this project was/is a scam. The project creator literally changed his name and lives in exile somewhere. The gimmick is this: He pays a few developers to build a facade and Makoto then makes videos and appearances filled to the brim with buzz words. He makes claims such as "Hyperinflation and reckless monetary policy could soon devastate the global economy" only to use his hold on Sora to mint new currency out of nowhere and dump it on unsuspecting fools. Makoto literally has his finger on the money printer. Anyway, when this scam has run its course, he'll change names again and move to someplace else.

There was a 100% devaluation according to Coingecko. Visibly a big pump and dump, I think it will be difficult for those who invested to recover the amount invested. Undeniable traces of scam!

IIRC he changed his name after moving to Japan before creating XOR. Doesn't mean there wasn't money to be made. Found project in Oct. 2020, didn't buy, not bothered..
