Title: Decentralized vs centralized cryptocurrency exchanges, which one is better?
Post by: Yasya on February 06, 2019, 02:23:48 PM
Decentralization regards as one of the main advantages of the crypto world. Decentralization is the process of distribution of powers in decision-making without the participation of a centralized body. The lack of control makes the cryptocurrency attractive within many market players. Nevertheless, decentralization has its weaknesses and many institutions tend to develop rules and regulations to have control under important processes. These points are actual among cryptocurrency exchanges as well.

Most of the transactions at cryptocurrency exchanges proceed at centralized trading platforms. The centralized cryptocurrency exchanges are regulated by the definite company or person. The companies control all operation proceeded at cryptocurrency exchanges. The centralized cryptocurrency exchanges are the third party which connects sellers and buyers. The main profit of the centralized exchanges is getting by the commission of the transactions made by the users.

The centralized cryptocurrency exchanges store personal information about the users. This fact makes them very attractive to the hacker attacks. Also, most governments develop the regulations of cryptocurrency exchanges which require users to pass the verification process according to AML/KYC procedure. Such rules go against anonymity as the main principle of cryptocurrency. That’s why many users regard the verification as an inconvenient way of cryptocurrency trading.

As centralized cryptocurrency exchanges are controlled by the definite company the traders should accept the user agreement before the registration. Such agreements can create not very cleared conditions to their users. Some cryptocurrency exchanges, for example, have the right to block the user’s account without any warning if it is suspected of laundering money, receiving money from illegal activities and so on.

Centralized cryptocurrency exchanges provide good opportunities for the beginners. They provide users with a range of additional functions such as analytical materials, margin trading, stop loss, lending, etc. That’s why centralized cryptocurrency exchanges create attractive conditions for those who start trading.

Decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges work on the basis of smart contracts and can operate autonomously. That’s why the trading operations are conducted independently. There is no any intermediary, so the sellers and the buyers trade directly with each other. The decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges enable to store and to manage funds by users themselves. This fact makes decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges more reliable as they are less attractive for hackers attacks and quicker compared with the centralized exchanges, where the verification process can take a long period of time.

The technical support of decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges is more complicated. That’s why such exchanges need the high-experienced developers who can launch appropriate dApps. Also, the functionality of decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges is still limited and not so user-friendly.

Decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges enable to exchange one cryptocurrency to another anonymously. But if the user wants to exchange the fiat money then he should pass the verification at most of the decentralized exchanges. One more advantage of such platforms is that the users' accounts can’t be blocked by anybody. If the exchange is unexpectedly closed or its team is arrested, users will be able to withdraw funds, as they are stored in the blockchain.

Decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges give the opportunity to trade ICO tokens easier and faster. Centralized platforms require a higher degree of technical development before they can safely integrate a new token into their sites.

Decentralized exchanges have become popular recently, nevertheless, they have some significant disadvantages. One of them is the possibility of trading only tokens belonging to the platform. For example, decentralized exchanges based on Ethereum can only offer Ethereum network tokens. Also, there is a low trading volume at decentralized platforms because of limited functionality.

So what kind of cryptocurrency is better? The choice of each user depends on its demands and necessities. The centralized for sure is good platforms for newbies as they provide a trader with a range of user-friendly functionality. The experienced users can combine the trading at two types of platforms depending on the kind of operation. To our mind, the decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges maintain the main features of cryptocurrency and blockchain. That’s why they are more reliable, transparent and anonymous. Nevertheless, the world tends to regulate cryptocurrency operations so that the decentralized cryptocurrency exchange may have various barriers in their development in future.

Thanks a lot for all your comments. So there are different points of view.

The decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges regard as the new era of the exchanges. They are not controlled by a definite company and the users' funds are stored at their personal wallets. That’s why decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges provide the confidence and protection to the traders. There are a number of disadvantages in the functionality of decentralized exchanges compared with the centralized one.

I hope there will appear many DEXes in next few years with good volumes, performance and usability. Solutions that we have today are not that popular mostly due to their interfaces and slowness. But instead they have a lot of very important features such as security and many others.

of course decentralized was better, in term's of security DEXs have more point than centralized exchange.
when we use centralized exchange we entrust our money to them so if there are server down or exchange getting hacked you can imagine that all of our money in their exchange will also gone.
it's different compared to DEXs because orders and information routed in a peer-to-peer protocol.
but sadly mostly DEXs now still have to improve in their UI, because it's still confuse many people that new to DEXs.

Other opinions stated that the future belongs to the hybrid cryptocurrency exchanges. A key feature of hybrid exchanges is the parallel operation of centralized and decentralized systems.

Now there are hybrid exchanges. I think the future belongs to them. For example, at the development stage, the qurrex project.

But there are still many barriers to the development of hybrid exchanges.

Hybrid exchange are still new and we have few of them. The bearish market period does not give opportunity to determine the success rate of the hybrid exchange, none on the list high volume exchanges. Asides the security role and platform for large number of coins, the exchange will still have to compete for high volume trade and fiat exchange.

So, the best way of protection is decentralization. That's why decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges are more secure. The lack of functionality of decentralized exchanges and the low level of protection of centralized exchanges have created the concept of hybrid cryptocurrency exchanges that can be a very perspective compromise in the future.

Have the same hopes. Volume is really the main problem.
At start, they have good volumes but once the trades becomes longer it slows down. No more buyers but more of sellers. Only those who retained are trying to make profit out of short changes.

Will it still be possible or are we hoping for nothing?
As of now it looks like we are being colonized by this centralized exchanges.

Though I prefer to trade with DEX because of anonymity. No IDs to pass is truly a market paradaise. DEX however is not really helping to make the prices of new tokens to rise up. A seasoned ICO investor will lose a big money out from his capital if a DEX doesn't announce when they would list a new token,i ts going to be terrible for an ICO investor. There is going to be someone who is first at dumping their stash at DEX.

I do support the decentralized exchanges but to be honest most of them still have terrible user interfaces so most people and traders stillfind it confusing and complicated to trade at decentralized exchanges and that has also resulted in money loss due to wrong understamding of orders at decentralized exchanges so they definitely need a friendly interface.

They have their own benefit so you need to pick what kind of exchange you are going to start trading based on your preference,if you are going to trade a lot and you will be doing very often then decentralised exchanges may nit have enough volume to complete your trade so it should be centralized best for you,or you will trade less and more concerned about security then decentralized exchanges are best for you.

Everything have their own advantage and disadvantage so overall it's depend on the user whenever they choose based on their need.
Decentralized means that no one control it but we must understand, every new policy must supervise under the government because without their regulation, there will be no demand for them !

Decentralization is the main principle of blockchain technology. This is the most important and unique characteristic of cryptocurrencies that is confessed since the appearance of Bitcoin. Decentralization enables to get away from centralized control and distinguishes cryptocurrency from unsecured government money. This is the main principle of security and privacy. So why are the vast majority of cryptocurrencies traded on centralized exchanges, if this concept is so important for the fundamentals of crypto-ecosystems?

What are the advantages of centralized cryptocurrency exchanges? They are obvious. Centralized exchanges are generally user-friendly and provide high liquidity for Bitcoin and most altcoins. Many people are afraid of the idea of taking the first steps in cryptocurrencies. The media is full of horrific stories about ICO fraud and illegal transactions on the darknet. Therefore, when it comes to trading in cryptocurrencies, it is not surprising that most users automatically choose the easiest option, because beginners do not have experience in trading even fiat currency, not to mention cryptocurrency. In general, large centralized exchanges make it easy to trade cryptocurrencies and rarely face liquidity problems. Unfortunately, this cannot be said about the first generation decentralized exchanges (DEX). You could wait for the execution of the order for several hours or a week there. But, despite these advantages, centralized cryptocurrency exchanges are terribly imperfect. In addition to the fact that it is impossible to trade anonymously on them, they require that you trust your funds to third parties, and as a result, an attractive asset is created that makes centralized exchanges as the main goal for hackers. To be honest, often the funds are attractive for the owners of the exchanges themselves. In recent years, cybercriminals have stolen more than a billion dollars from centralized exchanges. In my opinion, the advantages of centralized exchanges do not outweigh these two disadvantages which are lack of anonymity and the possibility of theft of your funds.

That's indeed and you can see that how the volume of stable coin has been growing a lot. That means a lot of people are keeping their money on the stable crypto rather than use it to trade in the market. Tether was having a non sense marketcap.

I hope too, very easy to use decentralized exchange besides it is also very safe because the private key is only held by the user.

The main problem of centralized cryptocurrency exchanges is security. The list of mass hacks is constantly growing, and the victims are always users. We have already witnessed the first major hacking of the year when Cryptopia lost 16 million dollars in Ethereum and ERC20 coins. The problem is that this is not an isolated case. Here is a small reminder of some others. In 2014, Bitcoin was stolen from Mt. Gox, while two years later Bitcoins for $ 72 million were missing from Bitfinex. These are two widely reported events. But there were many others.

A recent example of the Canadian platform QuadrigaCX, when the 30-year-old owner of the exchange Gerald Cotten went to India, where he died suddenly, and 12 days before his death, left a will in his wife's name. This case should make you think about the fate of your funds on centralized exchanges. Now no one will return $ 137 million to users of the cryptocurrency exchange. Private keys to the wallets of the exchange died along with its owner. Do not be surprised if soon we will see the movement of funds from these "dead" wallets. Centralized exchanges force users to transfer their funds to a third party, so the intermediary is always following the trading operations. This fact not only contradicts the fundamental principle of cryptocurrency but also makes users cryptocurrencies vulnerable to theft. As history has shown, when there are not enough security measures on the stock exchange to protect users, the theft of funds is happening. A centralized exchange requires only one mistake in order to endanger the security of each user. DEX solve this problem head-on. They eliminate security problems that interfere the centralized exchanges, allowing users to trade safely in a peer-to-peer network (P2P). There are no intermediaries, and traders never issue cryptocurrencies with their wallets. Assets are not stored on the exchange, so there is no way to steal them.

99% of cryptocurrency transactions are still carried out through centralized exchanges, but this trend should change in the coming years. Switching to decentralized exchanges is necessary so that users of cryptocurrency can fully utilize their potential in harmonious interaction with blockchain.

In decentralized exchanges, I need to do extra transactions hence I need to pay extra gas whereas in centralized exchanges just a only one transaction is enough to start my trade. But, basically centralized exchanges are against why we are having crypto currency. Moreover, we are still depending on a third party even in the name of decentralized exchanges. Even for decentralized exchanges, the platform is being provided by a third-party and at the time of actual transaction we need to depend on that third party to finish off a trade.

I do believe the actual decentralized the way of exchange will be trading within our friends and relatives and with known forum members. I believe this will be the future and what we are having in the name of centralized or decentralized exchanges may get vanished over the time.

Confidentiality is a basic human right, but centralized cryptocurrency exchanges do not support it under the pressure of regulators. Users must provide the exchange with their personal data, including a scan of their passport, home address, and personal photo with a passport in their hands. All information about users and their transactions, not only is stored on the stock exchange but also is transmitted to the tax authorities of those countries that are parties of the agreement Basel III. The list of countries which sign Basel III contains 121 states. Any person who has administrative access to the cryptocurrency exchange can identify anyone who sends and receives payments. These trade data can be easily stolen by hackers and sold to anyone, as well as can be used in other unethical or criminal activities. The first wave of decentralized exchanges, although not perfect, provided a greater degree of confidentiality. The absence of the registration process or centralized management meant that the users' personal data was not saved or transferred to anyone. At the same time, the P2P protocol eliminates the possibility of theft of funds or personal data. Decentralized exchanges solve the key problems that centralized exchanges suffer from, but they are far from ideal and need to be improved.

The next generations of DEX platforms need to develop solutions to the problems that have constrained their predecessors. First, the main problem is liquidity. Users should know that if they want to buy or sell some currency, then at the other end there will always be someone who is willing to trade with them.

Finally, it is very important that decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges offer a simple and convenient user interface. Earlier DEX was a platform developed by experienced users for other experienced users. If decentralized exchanges want to develop, then they should make a user-friendly interface even for beginners that will be no worse than Binance or Bittrex.

The Blocknet has already solved both these issues. First by making its decentralized orderbook available over API, so that exchanges can share liquidity. Second by putting development into an application that looks/feels enough like a traditional CEX with an automated installation/setup process.

Also the fees are currently really low. I think takers are paying a set 0.015 Block for a trade right now.

Come try BlockDX on Blocknet. Links are in my sig

Both has its plus and minus. DEX and CEX have their own advantages and disadvantages, but also depends on the exchange itself in term of providing a convenience platform for trading. There are some hybrid exchange outhere now, so, I think users will have more option to decide in which exchange to trade.

And the most important aspect of centralized exchanges in their present form is that they cause direct irreversible damage to cryptocurrency. Their main business for them now is Altcoin Casino. Their acts focus on the quick increase of certain altcoins cost, manipulation of the course, cutting clients, when suddenly the asset goes down unpredictably, smashing feet and mowing down deposits of gullible traders. Centralized exchanges open OTC platforms in order to put pressure on the price of assets, create visibility of nonexistent bids and offers. Such DEX platforms created by centralized exchanges is a mockery of the idea of free cryptocurrencies. That is why Vitaly Buterin wished them to burn in hell.

As long as people trade on centralized exchanges, we will expect a fair bitcoin exchange rate for a very long time.

Successful in what sense ? Your orders get executed in more quicker time in decentralized exchanges ? I am sorry, I am not getting your point. So far I have used only centralized exchanges and I do hear the centralized exchanges are only for trading tokens. But, I'm not sure how you will be successful with your token trading compared to coins trading in centralized exchanges. Is there anything more that you have missed out to add here ?

I am familiar with centralized exchanges, even exchange hacking are happening more frequently, I am sure I am well aware of how to protect myself. My choice is centralized exchanges.

Personally, it is like this:
Decentralized exchanges are usually built for some certain protocol (ERC20, Stellar, NEO) and are not compatible over different coins. But decentralization is the securest way to have the exchange, shutting down is impossible.
Centralized exchanges are comfortable to use and their UI is nicer and easier to use.

I heard few decentralized exchanges also started enforcing KYC. What we are calling as decentralized exchange is not purely a decentralized platform for ensuring all the freedom and concepts of decentralization but the part of having control on our privatekey alone made many people to believe into those exchanges as decentralized one.

I also personally like decentralized exchanges but I guess the chances of hacking and locking out funds or stealing privatekey of our deposit addy are still possible with currently available decentralized exchanges too.

Centralized exchange is better in speed because the transaction is live on the central database.
But usually you will need to submit KYC when you want to withdraw a quite amount of coins.
In centralized exchange, you will be able to trading your coins for other coins e.g EOS/BTC, while the decentralized exchange cannot.

Every system, decentralized and centralized has different advantages. We cannot say decentralized is better than centralized because the purposes of that system will be not the same. I don't mind to trade in the centralized or decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges, as long as I feel comfortable to stay and trade and I don't have any problem in that site. The problem with centralized is the customer data can get hacked, and that is a job for the exchanges to protect their user. Meanwhile, we don't have to send the document in the decentralized exchange, but we don't have many options to trade because the coins are only for tokens and not altcoin.

Security and privacy, 2 major benefit of decentralized exchange. In DEX, the process of transaction is peer to peer. Means between 2 parties and funds remain in escrow till the end of deal and both parties get fund after the closing of deal.
Your wallet is not yours unless you secure the private key. DEX is getting popularity. Centralized exchange is against cryptography.

If we look at the real story of the crypto money, it's one of the biggest features that it has to be decentralized. After bitcoin, centralized or half-decentralized crypto coins also appeared, but this cannot change the actual event.

The same goes for Blockchain. The fact that the book that records a transaction is decentralized can make it safe and reliable.

DEXs should definitely be preferred if we look at the subject from this perspective. But I'm not sure yet the market is ready for it! DEXs should become more preferable. Unfortunately, people are not ready for this. CEXs are preferred because they are more popular.

With the spread of DEX,

1) Market entry exit barriers and controls are eliminated.
2) KYC problems are eliminated.
3) Transparency increases.
4) The coins with the trade of blockchain and crypto money can reach their real value.
5) Manipulation and speculation is reduced.
6) ... I think we can increase this too much ...

NOTE: In some non-virtuous subjects, use may also increase. It may not be an obstacle for malicious use.

Centralized exchange is against cryptography.

it has nothing to do with cryptography to be for it or against it.

centralized exchanges are simply special services that you have the option to use because they offer certain benefits that decentralized exchanges don't.

Its up to you which function you like about an exchange. For me I always like fully  decentralised exchange cause in most of the decentralised exchange which don't access my fund. So I use exchange like switcheo  idex some other decentralised exchange based in EPs and trim. But the problem with decentralised exchange is the trading volume. They don't have much trading volume in decentralised exchange and a lot of scams on it. For some coin i have to use centralised exchange like binance  kicking bitter. That's it. But in centralised exchange the security is doubtable.

We need decentralized platforms with a convenient interface and good liquidity. But this sector is not attractive for big money yet as it is unprofitable for them. They will better create a dozen more projects like TRON or GRIN, parasitizing on the community's natural desire for decentralization and anonymity. If each user realized that he needed to withdraw all the funds from the centralized exchanges and at least half of them did so, then there would not be enough liquidity to withdraw all the cryptocurrency to cold wallets.  If you do not trade every day, withdraw your funds from centralized exchanges, otherwise, you will lose them sooner or later.

The security of CEX is very fragile

A hacker ExploitDOT is trying to sell data from users of the leading Bitcoin exchanges (Bittrex, Poloniex, Bitfinex and Binance), which they provided as part of the KYC procedure. It is noteworthy that a pack of hundreds of identity cards costs only $ 10, according to CCN.

As the newspaper notes, ExploitDOT places its offers on the dark-marketplace Dread. Moreover, an independent cybersecurity researcher, who wished to remain anonymous, allegedly managed to get the real data of three users of the Binance exchange, pretending to be a buyer.

ExploitDOT even offers documents in bulk: up to $ 1 per 1000 copies, if the buyer places an order from 25 thousand.

Centralized cryptocurrency exchanges were more popular among the cryptocurrency users. Risk is also high with these exchanges, these exchanges have got the large trading volumes. This easily grabs the attention of crypto people compared to the decentralized exchanges which has got very small trading volume with larger trading pairs and listed tokens.

For a couple of reasons, CEX is better. Every exchange gets hacked one way or the other one can be phished but CEX offers more liquidity and great UI.

I will go for decentralized exchange because i always love to be anonymous when carrying out transactions especially financial transactions. Apart from being anonymous, decentralized exchange is better than using centralized exchange in terms of security, in the past years, we have seen how centralized exchange has lost a lot of its users money due to failure in good security of the exchange.

I will advise everyone to use decentralized exchange, but if you must use centralized exchange, make sure you send money to external wallet after trade.

I think centralized cryptocurrency exchange is better than decentralized one because it is more responsive.
But some peoples prefer to using decentralized exchange to remain anonymous because usually in centralized exchange, you will need
to submit your identity data to withdraw some amounts of coins or tokens there.

For a decentralized currency, the sense is most likely more precisely in such exchanges. Many now even refuse to identify in the projects.

I think the exchangeable exchanges are very promising although there is still no 100% in this definition. It's sad to see that only exchanges with big players add their favorite projects causing many to have prices that are not justifiable by their values. It's a market that is warming up and every month we see more discussions on the subject. Governments already have problems dealing with centralized exchanges, what will happen when there is 100% DEX in your proposal?

This is a very difficult question and this depends on what you want to have by an exchange. If it is important for you to have control over your funds, you need to chose decentralised exchanges, but if you need a lot of trading pairs, you should enter Binance or Okex.

Its depends on you that what you want in a exchange platform. For me I don't like to give access of my coins to others so I always like to use decentralised one. For me. And security is also a matter for me that's why  decentralised is the most best kind of exchange for me. But i also face many kind of problem in centralised exchange the main problem is volume of the coin in most of the cases there is very low volume and its fine to buy for dex for its very hard sometimes to sell in dex. That's why I have to use centralised exchange sometimes.

Will Mt.Gox relaunch?

Everybody is aware of the history of Mt.Gox cryptocurrency exchange. Nowadays Brok Pierce is running a project Gox Rising. The aim of the project is to relaunch the cryptocurrency exchange and to pay damages to the creditors. So the main points of Gox Rising are:

  • Restore brand of the cryptocurrency exchange
  • Get domain
  • Make all payments and the entire financial structure of the exchange transparent. Pay not at the rate of $ 400 for Bitcoin how it was set by the court but at the rate of the current situation
  • If there is no money left, then past creditors will receive income from the future operation of the exchange, and thus debts will be repaid.

Also, Brok Pierce claims he bought 12% of McCaleb's share, although this is nowhere confirmed.

Such a case can create a positive influence on the future of the crypto world and restore the confidence to cryptocurrency.

But can the project be implemented? What do you think?

How much does listing at Binance DEX cost?

Now the cost of issuing an asset is 1000 BNB, and its listing is 2000 BNB. Since each individual user is allowed to register up to 20 addresses in order to receive 200 BNBs in a test network for each of them. One account at the main exchange is enough to accumulate a sufficient number of tokens and perform the indicated actions independently.

To release assets, users should use the Binance Chain command line interface, where they can set parameters such as the name of the token, the amount of emission, the possibility of additional emission, as well as burn and freeze the tokens.

To list the issued asset, the user must enter the appropriate command and specify the cryptocurrency, then make a deposit of the required size and wait for the approval of the proposal by the validators.

IMO, I believe that DEX is much better than centralized exchange because everyone can ensure that their identity can be safe cause they don't have to verify account on exchange to be able to trade on DEX while they have to do that on centralized exchange. But at the moment, number of DEX is too little and almost DEX are very terrible.

I would say that it is important to have both.
Since each has its advantages and disadvantages, more options is always going to be better.
We as humans would ideally like to have one "best" service that we use.
But the reality is that a variety is always better.
And even having a lot of the same kind of thing is good to, because that competition pushes companies to have better products.

In the case of exchanges, I only use centralized when I need to do high volume trades.
Outside of that, I see no need for it.
Blockchain tech was meant to be peer to peer, so it fits the decentralized model nicely.
In fact, whenever possible, I just skip exchanges and just trade directly with someone.
I find buys through bitcointalk marketplace or sites like localbitcoins or localcoinswap.
I use an escrow to keep from being scammed.

Decentralized exchanges are better because it obeys to the crypto's nature! But there is no crowd in Decentralized exchanges. All those centralized exchanges have huge volume but DEX has very low! Every year, big centralized exchanges have been hacking or scamming but still, people keep using it! The decentralized exchange is free and open for everyone to use, and there are no obstacles to trade, withdraw your assets. But in centralized, you have to go through a KYC procedure and therefore your money anytime can be hacked or compromised from the exchange. So, we need to move on to DEX and I hope within two years people will realize it and DEX will have good volume.

I think currently centralized exchange is better then decentralized exchange because they already got the trust from crypto lovers and we already considered the top cex is the good one. DEX is new player in the crypto market and many new coin can be easily available in their market meanwhile to cex usually review  the new coin before available in their market.

NEO co-founder Fabio Canesin at Neo DevCon 2019 announced the launch date for the Nash decentralized cryptocurrency exchange. Canesin and the rest of the Nash team are ready to submit to the community an application that includes all the features of the DEX.

Prior to the immediate launch, the NEO community was asked to test the software in order to identify all potential bugs and vulnerabilities. According to sources, the launch of the beta version of Nash is scheduled for March 31.

According to the team, the Nash exchange is designed to eliminate all the problems of centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. In this case, Nash is not a simple DEX. Canesin himself describes it as a "financial platform for the economy of the future."

Switcheo decentralized cryptocurrency exchange launches its own over-the-counter platform

The project promises that the use of its existing smart contracts on the Ethereum and NEO blockchains will allow users to carry out transactions without counterparty risks and with extremely low commissions. The public beta test of Switcheo OTC starts on March 4th.

To attract traders to the new OTC platform, Switcheo will provide an opportunity for commission-free trading during the first month. In the future, users will be able to use SWTH tokens to get discounts on commissions.

Initially, Switcheo OTC will support a limited set of tokens and will not allow the exchange of assets issued on different blockchains. After upgrading the NEO V3 to the OTC platform, all compatible ERC20 and NEP5 tokens will be issued, including even those that are not in the main order book.

Nice write up. Let me air my view on this topic. I appreciate the ideology behind decentralized exchanges but the fact remains that the ones operational are not up to standard when compared to top centralized exchanges. Liquidity is always a setback in decentralized exchanges, user interface and speed of operation too. Usually the trading volumes on DEX are crappie, because many people do not really buy the idea of importing private keys or mnemonic and few use web3 extensions like metamask or hardware wallets. Looking forward to a day when DEX will be top notch. Well, I appreciate the development and trading volumes so far on IDEX.

Today CZ promised to announce the next campaign on the Binance Launchpad. He also said that at the current stage, the platform plans to conduct 1-2 campaigns per month, but does not have a clear schedule, instead of attracting interesting projects as they are discovered.

According to CZ, his company-issued BNB token currently has a higher practical value than most existing digital assets. Binance intends to continue to expand the list of partners that allow the use of BNB in their services.

In addition, BNB will become the Binance Chain blockchain's own token and the Binance DEX exchange. CZ said that eight relatively large projects had already agreed to transfer their tokens from Ethereum to Binance Chain in order to take advantage of the new blockchain, but did not clarify their names.

The rate of BNB increased by 15%.

I think that crypto currencies are better when in a decentralized system. When this crypto currency is systemized centrally, it is no different from a fiat currency. I prefer if this crypto currency is in a decentralized system so that I can control my own coins. Therefore, it is natural that the government hates decentralization because the government cannot provide overall control of the crypto currency. Decentralization remains a good choice for crypto currencies and hopefully there are no problems with this decentralized system.

I am sure that decentralised exchanges are better for me. I like the fact that I still have full control over my funds, even by trading, what you cannot expect on a centralised exchange. But such exchanges like Binance are offering much more token pairs to trade.

The token exchange becomes simple and free with the help of Bancor Wallet

Bancor decentralized network launched a wallet for exchanging one token for another. A feature of this technological improvement is that the tokens are exchanged within the same network, even despite the fact that they are issued on different blockchains. Another important detail is that Bancor Wallet does not store private keys to cryptocurrencies, what centralized cryptocurrency exchanges do. At the moment, an exchange is available between tokens that are issued on the Ethereum and EOS blockchains.

Bancor Wallet is based on the BancorX protocol, recently launched by the company, which is the “language” of exchanging one cryptocurrency for another without the need to set up an account at a cryptocurrency exchange. In the future, such a solution can seriously hit cryptocurrency exchange businesses that earn billions of dollars on commissions charged when exchanging digital assets for others. Bancor Wallet has no commissions at all, and the transactions themselves are carried out instantly. Gradually, all 9,700 cryptocurrency pairs in which transactions are conducted will be transferred to the new technological solution. It is important that it becomes possible to transfer one token to another regardless of whether there are potential buyers and sellers of such assets as the exchange is carried out automatically. In addition, Bancor Wallet users have the opportunity to have access to all decentralized applications without leaving the wallet interface.

Bittrex has suffered huge loss of reputation

Bittrex attempted to replicate the success of the Binance Launchpad by launching the IEO platform — the initial ICO token placement, carefully selected by the cryptocurrency exchange experts, suffered a colossal collapse. Potential investors who have already replenished accounts to participate in the first crowdsale RAID escaped from scam.

Fifteen minutes before the start of the ICO, it became known that Bittrex had selected a dummy project for the initial placement or could become an accomplice to outright fraud.

RAID is a blockchain focused on the gaming industry. Players get a decentralized protection of gaming items and content, the possibility of selling them, and smart contracts allow to create applications that collect and analyze game statistics or other useful options.

Investor interest in the RAID project was due to the partnership with OP.GG, which owns and collects information from virtual platforms: League of Legends, BattleUns PlayerUnknown, Overwatch and eSport. Literally 15 minutes before the start of the crowdsale, the company stated that its plans were not to transfer the data to the blockchain, so any speculation on this topic is fake.

Bittrex urgently canceled ICO, apologizing to investors, shifting responsibility to RAID and OP.GG. Apparently the cryptocurrency exchange has not fully understood the idea of creating IEO, which consists in guaranteeing the ongoing crowdsales, that is, a thorough preliminary verification of startups.

We can say that they manage exchange as they wish. Because keeping private keys or freezing money does not mean that they are trustless. These rules are notified when you register. Also, if these rules do not satisfy you, try the appropriate one.

If you are worried about the safety of your personal data and anonymity - trade on decentralized exchanges. In any case, before trading on any crypto exchange, read the news and customer reviews about it.

However, the most important purpose of OKChain is to launch the OKDEx decentralized exchange, on which pre-sales will be created using the OKB token.

The Kraken Security Labs division will be formed on the basis of the exchange, whose task will be to increase the security of the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem by checking the vulnerability of third-party products, such as hardware, software wallets, etc.

I do prefer decentralising exchange because you have the control of your passkey and that is what is most important in blockchain technology and decentralized system compared to the third party system and the centralized exchange.  However,  because of the ways majority of the centralized exchanges like : poloniex,  bittrex, binance, cryptopia and hitbtc has performed we tent to like centralized exchanges more than the decentralising one.  In centralized exchanges our fund is not safe and it can be easily been manipulated but decentralized one help in safeguard our funds.

The statement also emphasizes that the incident affected only the hot wallet of the exchange and the means of Bithumb itself, while the cryptocurrency of users on a cold wallet was safe. Specific amounts and any details of what happened in the official statement have not yet been disclosed, citing an investigation that has not yet been completed. The same can be said not only about the exchanges. Today there is a need to talk only about decentralization, because it is decentralization that is a way out of our human corruption, it is such a link that can really improve the situation.

if Binance lunch their Dex, then i will probably start using one again with the hope that there ui will be alot better than the rest of the dex we have around, i have only trade on idex and was not too complicated ;D but most dex just makes trading or normal buying appear to be difficult because of their look and design, i always feel comfortable transacting on centralized exchange 8) so i will be looking forward to binance dex and what it has to offer.

For me, I think centralized exchanges are cheaper, better and more safer compared to decentralized ones. Centralized exchanges are the ones that normally have a strong team of managerial staffs, a good security team that upgrades and monitor the exchange servers and system applications, while decentralized exchanges has fewer staffs, most of them works remotely with very few coins to trade.

Centralized exchange is faster and more convenient but not safer. Only decentralized exchanges can provide users with a guarantee of the safety of funds being exchanged.

Crypto is about decentralization and the classical exchanges are centralized and hold your private keys and
practically they are owning your funds like banks do. On the other side decentralized exchanges are not used as they are still not user friendly and not trusted as there is no customer service there who to complain if something goes wrong.

Between both, of course, DEX is better than the CEX.
- We can trade anonymously without having to go through the KYC procedures such as centralized exchange like Bittrex, Indodax, etc.
- And we can buy and sell coins or tokens without a minimum amount.

I also support the opinion that decentralized exchanges are closer in spirit to a cryptocurrency society. Any attempts to limit and control interfere with a free society.

Now centralized exchanges remain an option even though it is actually better decentralized, but it really depends on the people who choose it, the risk is also great in the exchange

The centralized is still a prioritized exchanges for many because it's more convenient when it comes to speed, functionality and simplicity although decentralized exchange is more secure, people still think that they are only saving their money in centralized exchange for temporary anyway.

These are very controversial concepts, because lately many people have already started asking themselves a reasonable question, what is decentralization and how does it work today, for example, in BTC.

It always depends on you and your preferences. If you would like to have an exchange with the biggest amount of trading pairs and volume, you are welcome to use centralised exchanges, if you prefer anonymity, decentralised exchanges are best for you.

I am in favour of decentralized. At this point, anonymity is what I demand from those companies: and only decentralized ones, basically ”not owned” are those which can fulfill my desires. Filling orders and minding my own business without any intervention from the government: that's what I like ;D! On the other hand, institutional investors have no other possibility than centralized and licensed exchanges, so they play their role as well. It stands on your own goals: do I want privacy or probably less risky and more non-tech friendly environment? That is up to you.

Not so many exchange sites are truly decentralized exchange site. I should remind you there was a lot of dex are not having a good system and it can make the funds become centralized too. BTC in the different case if you are tried to create a comparison with it

I am very excited...I'm starting BETA testing 14April of the NASH.io fintech platform which includes a DEX and many many more future crypto fintech products.

They claim the UI/UX speed of a CEX build in a DEX, so lets see if the team (CoZ NEO) can provide the first real DEX as they promised.

Also they will be the FIRST DEX with fiat on-off ramps and the First DEX with BTC pairs end of this year,

Very important for me is they are embracing regulatory compliance so not on some vage tax-avoiding Island like most CEX including Binance to avoid laws. For example their NEX token is a registered STO in Europe and they already have money transmitter licenses in most US states.
With this regulatory path they could take a whole new fintech sector including stockmarkets ect.ect.

Last but not least if your knowledge goes furter then just reading and talking .. for our Devs they will provide open source SDK packages and API´s for developers to interact with their matching engine and gain more volume and liquidity giving high volume traders eccess to their new build protocols.  #trustyourselves #DoYourOwnResearch

I vote for decentralized exchanges with both hands. It seems to me that they are safer and more honest. I do not see anything inconvenient to use the DEX. They are slow, but if you are not a professional trader, but simply want to buy or sell a coin, then this is not a problem. I literally yesterday bought a Sound Money Coin coin on ForkDelta - everything is convenient and simple. No KYC, no expectations and experiences.

I think im still choose the centralized exchange, Because in terms of volume decentralized exchange (DEX) is cannot compete with the centralized one,  i want to used DEX but the hindrance is the volume its very important for traders in order to gain more profit. DEX must innovate more to catch up the Centralized Exchange.

I prefer to use decentralized exchanges because of the anonymity that they give to their users. You don't have to worry if somebody is stalking on you because your transactions are fully anonymous. That's the very first feature that centralized exchanges can't give to their users.

In the test Binance Chain passed hard fork

Binance cryptocurrency exchange announced the successful completion of the hard fork in the test network of its blockchain Binance Chain.

The changes compared to the previous version include the update of the key components of the Tendermint consensus mechanism, the optimization of the validator's workflow management and the performance improvements.

Recently, CZ reported that the main network Binance DEX can be launched before the end of this month.

What you are doing is good, maybe in the future I will do that. Trying to use a decentralized exchange. I seem to be very interested in what you say that using the decentralized anonymity exchange they give to their users, Thank you for the information.

But how is it anonymous. If you have at least once in your life gone through a confirmation of identity on the stock exchange, all of your transactions can already be safely traced. Because all transactions have an open list.
