Title: ICO 2.0 coming this year?
Post by: goldkingcoiner on February 10, 2019, 10:53:40 PM
There has been a long debate whether or not there will be a "ICO 2.0". As I see it, the 2.0 concept already realised itself in part as STOs. But what about Utility tokens? Will we be seeing any improvements for Utility tokens offerings? The market has still been going strong, disregarding all the ominous "ICO is dead" threads (which seem to be mostly made by disgruntled investors who were ripped off during the birth of ICOs. Well... What can I say besides DYOR?)

But now ICOs must mature. The crypto market has set the bar shockingly low for entrepreneurs to raise money and this is dangerous for everyone. What we need now are not further depressing regulations but rather trustworthy methods of weeding out immature ICO templates.

One of the proposed improvements to ICO was "DAICO" And we also had IEOs. And yet most of what we see here are an increase in the old fashioned ICOs. What is it that keeps ICOs from multiplying if they are supposed to be dead and gone? Shouldn't we try to scamproof the popular templates that make ICO so enticing instead of waiting for a better alternative?

The market pattern is changing at the moment and instead of just ico's there has also been IEO and STO, which have also proven to be more effective than the ico.
The advantage of the security token offering is that only accredited investors who are capable of investing in security projects will be able to invest thus saving the project from security-related regulation and for initial exchange offerings (IEO) investors do not have to worry about the when to list on exchange as most of the time trading will start immediately after the fundraising so these are both in a way better than the initial coin offering that is common previously.

IEO looks similar to the ico that already launched through use the exchange launch pad system. But that depends on the exchange site itself dude. If that was a good exchange and it can handle properly.

As I see it the scam proofing in the case of IEOs is the high fee for the listings. 10-30 BTC and then ~10% of tokens. Any ICO that can bring out that much dough should be seen as a serious one. But then again who can tell really?

The truth is ICOs are going to keep coming although we might have better versions like the STOs and DAICO who knows maybe dapps might join really soon but the truth we just need some regulations to have trust on them rather than just the typical is DEAD phrase Am sure if there is Crypto ICOs are going to keep popping up

There will always be people who will launch new ICOs, after all, they have nothing to lose, and there will be a few, very few, ICOs that will be successful, but, despite this, you can say ICOs are dead right now because most people are tired of them and not interested anymore, and this will not change by creating new models.

things like ICO tend to die fast and usually when they get hyped up a lot, there will always be some people who can't accept their losses and that death so they stick to newer things that are the same old scam at heart.
calling it 2.0 is not going to change anything, neither does calling it STO or anything else. in the end they are scams and they are dying.
