BTC has been down since a long time now. Although the support for BTC's price was strong at $3400, bitcoin was struggling hard to break the resistance at $3600.
We have been seeing minor gains in bitcoin's price from past few days and just now I noticed that bitcoin finally crossed $4000.
Lets see how high the price goes before another dump. I hope this starts the bull run we all have been waiting for.

jes it doesnt matter if the bitcoin whales buy back small portions of their own trash. i bet we will get soon a flood of the so called "billionaire" cryptos where billionaires release coins then then start buying them back in order to find idiots that believe it is valuable

It is a good news to see that the price of the bitcoin became $4000 per each again but we cannot still conclude that it is now the start of the bull market, maybe it is only a bull trap so we should not expect too much.

I was not able to bag this while it was low. Now I feel it is kinda late to buy. I prefer to wàit for the next dip. Unfortunately, I can't celebrate today with y'all 😂

It is really a great news to us that bitcoin finally crossed $4000. I think some more good news are coming. It is a sign only and within some days, we will be able to see bitcoin in good position with good price also.

Is nice to have this bump, as i always say, the only thing that we know about the price s that it will not stay frozen, it will move up or down but it will move. And this time it decided to go up, that's good for us, now let's watch how high it goes.

Other than Bitfinex, nowhere else has the price crossed 4k. I still wonder why that is though. Anyways, Im happy that it is crossing 4k as I had loaned out some BTC to my friend couple of months ago otherwise I'd have spent it and now It is showing great returns. :D

I'm surprised that the bitcoin is now back to continuing to increase. In these past days, we keep seeing the rapidly growth of the bitcoin. It continuing to pump and I am sure that most of the bitcoiners are now excited to the bull run 2019.

Yea Just have touched 4k$ in some exchange. But we need stable on 4k$. If price will stable on 4k$ then we can see another leg up to $4500. If does not find any support then it can go back again to 3600$ I think. So lets see where btc will stable. Thanks

I think you only miss this opportunity so many of them celebrate in this moment. Yesterday before everyone celebrated in Ethereum pump now its turn to Bitcoin so tomorrow we will see some other coins also, Now I suggest to Participate in altcoin investment because many of them interested to buying more crypto in current scenario so we will see the reasonable hype in upcoming days.

It is not about the price now of bitcoin on my part. it is how stable or growing the market again.
I can see more green in the trend now, even Ethereum is gaining more. it also has gone better than the price of BCH.
I wonder how high will they be once this trend continue to rise!

Bitcoin hit 4,400 last month for a short time... then crashed again  :'(

Idk, Although it looks like the bottom was in a few months back when ETH hit under $90, I still wouldn't be too excited.

for people to act, its like FOMO. Some people need proof that the price

Well, i hope it stops climbing and stays there for a while. The slower it moves, the better. I guess with Chinese new year over the next event would be the climb to the halving, tho there is the following Chinese new year right before that.

I'm happy to see that the bitcoin pump again. It is really a good news that the bitcoin crossed $4000 per each again. Actually, it is not normal anymore to see that the price of the bitcoin increased again because it has characteristics of being volatile. There are a lot of possibilities that the bull run will now start in this first quarter of the year.

Bitcoin is on fire, it is close to $4000 range. Possibly soon we can see the price to be above $4000. At present very few exchanges have got the price of bitcoin to be listed above $4000. It has lot more to go, and as a beginning bitcoin has now near the $4000 margin.

A wonderful news where bitcoin already crossed $4000 so we just need to wait more until the price of bitcoin go to the moon again. I hope in the few month it will crossed $5000 and in the last quarter of this year the price will keep increasing just like what in the year 2017.

Am very happy to see bitcoin coming out from the crash. My major concern is for bitcoin to stay stable to experience growth before another ATH which is expected.  

Is too early for the bearish market to evacuate buddy this is the reason why the $4000 price range of the market could not last 2hours because alot traders are cashing out for quick profit but if the market could keep the $3900 price till the end of this week then we should expect a good outcome next week.

Bitcoin is doing good today but its only a bit of pump we can't actually depend on that little increase maybe if bitcoin turns 5k$ that will be the a good sign of bull run I think, but I 'm happy that I see bitcoin increasing and not decreasing continuously.

If your entry point is the price today ($3900+-) it would be quite risky for a short run because of profit takers. The very best move right now if you're not a HOLDr is to wait for the next comfortable price.

it is inevitable for bitcoin price to rise. it is going to happen sooner or later as long as the adoption is growing you bet your ass it is growing! on top of that, prices like $4k are still way below the real value of bitcoin and it needs to at least rise another 2 grand before it reaches a more reasonable price level when we can call it normal and then start talking about further rallies. so far we are only getting out of the "undervalued" stage.

 ::) lol...you don't mean it. Procrastination is the mean factor for failure but on the other hand, I think the major reason for that when it comes to buying bitcoin is fear. So if you can kill the fear, it is still time to buy.

I think yesterday it crosses $4k already in some exchanges and I just check coinmarketcap, the price is @$3,984.16. We don't know if this is real or not, but I do hope that we can maintain it since breaking $4k is a big accomplishment already, this is a big barrier in front of us broken in the last 2 days so I wouldn't be surprised If goes for another spike at $4200-$4500.

i don't know if he is joking or what but people who think like that are very bad for the market because of the irrational decision that they will soon make. they were waiting for a low price to buy (like waiting for $1000) then since that didn't happen they never bought. then the rise begins and they miss buying at previous low price ($3.4k for instance) so they don't buy and wait for it to come back and when that doesn't happen either they wait until it is too late (like when it is $4.5k) and then do a FOMO buy ruining this slow solid rise that we are seeing right now by pushing the price up fast.

Maybe this time it will be a different scenario, bitcoin all the way to 7000$ before crashing down again. I hope this will be the last time that we will see this 4000$ price of bitcoin.

Although the current market price movement has experienced a slight increase, it cannot be stated that the increase in market prices will begin because no one knows that market prices will fall again after experiencing an increase because there is a possibility that this can easily be done by big players. indeed many people like to see the current market situation and of course this incident can add to their trust in being able to continue investing in cryptocurrency

I have to say that it looks and I feel happy to see that growth from yesterday. Looks promising, although It kinda stopped on 3900-3950 range. I hope that those four thousand wasn't pick of some small wave.

I think we need to observe it before we celebrate maybe it's bull trap. Much better still hodl and let's see in coming days or weeks. Let's just observe the market first. And hopefully this is the start of bull run.

How could the bull run start a year and a half from the next halving? Use some common sense, the bulls are not going to waste a bunch of fiat pumping bitcoin unless it's timed AFTER the next halving.
I think this is a bull trap, but anyone buying into it needs to swallow their vomit for a few months instead of panic selling for a loss when the price dumps.

It will grow fast and quick so do not worry about it. This is just the start and in coming time market will bounce back as in the past also btc has bounced back every time the market has dip. Only think patience is the key if you can hold it till you get your price.

We are happy that it has happened in this way and bitcoin has started recovering and very soon it will be back in it feet again.  We are at the time when people are not expecting much from the market and thank God for the past three days our investments has started to show profits.

people usually use the terms "pump" and "dump" in wrong context in this board. for example they call any bitcoin price rise a "pump" just because they think the two words are synonyms and they call drops as "dump" for the same reason.
so maybe he means "correction" but he is using the wrong term "dump".

in which case it is understandable since a rise like this at this point where many are still filled with fear and want to exit will sell thinking it is a "bull trap". so usually rises like this after a long bottom are followed by a fast correction before rising back up again.

If you can fairly handle fears then its still a good time for you to buy and invest with bitcoin, you can place your order much lower so if spike happen

Very happy to see the market conditions lately, and I think it is likely that the market is getting better and for bitcoin it will not only pass 4k and it is also possible that it will reach 5k.

Finally we are near to our goal which is to increased again the market keep motivating people to invest again to the market or rise the value again of the bitcoin and to achieve $4000. Only 50 dollars plus are needed to reach the value of the bitcoin at the $4000. Im expecting to increase the value at $4000 this day or next few days.

Today price already hit the 4K mark and came back slightly as per worldcoinindex website. Now it is important to maintain this price above 4K for some time and this can happen if no bad news comes out about cryptos. May some people start booking partial profits and if that happens then we can see price trading below 4K for some more time.

Yes, it might not be the stable $4K that we all have been wanted to see, so let's give like a couple of days. It might sustain its run to $4200 which is a good indication that the bull run might actually starting this month, but remain calm, too early to celebrate as exchanges right now are very busy and I still see a lot of traders selling and booking profits as well. But definitely, the market comes alive again.

Too early to celebrate i think. $4K is great but we are still very away from the new all time high. It probably won't happen this year and maybe will happen in 2020. The chances goes much higher for 2021 though.

Currently bitcoin is still at the level of $ 3900 and this is quite good, there is still hope to be able to increase to the level of $ 4000. Movements that will affect all coins and this is good enough for the future, a good start to be able to increase again.

Unfortunately, the price now was down and reach $3930 level price, and the market seems getting stuck and not moves at any price. I think the price needs to get rest for a moment and stable before the next movements. I hope that the price will not go down because I see that the line of the chart was not curved not too high so we need to be careful to decide. This is gradually going up so its a positive sign. Although this isn't a confirmation of a bullrun, the slow climb of the price is attracting investors these days and so I would also expect a lot of those people who lose money last year may start to think of jumping in back into crypto. That is if they still have the courage to stand. It may not be good that we see them massively buy coins all for profit but yes, its making a noise to the social media.

Bitcoin is still up and down, and this continues so that crypto prices cannot be stable. And this is a challenge for those of us who are happy with risk, the current market is better and will continue to increase for better development.

The price of bitcoin will always be the same volatile and it will increase its range when more people using it just because the less availability for now the price raised from $3300 to $3900+ in a week of time so just take it as positive.

I think the target of the increase in bitcoin prices this year for the first time is to the price of $ 4k and after the target is reached then the next price increase will be followed by the end of the year bitcoin prices can recover.

The price is still hovering around that price and there is not much of a movement on either side, it is a really interesting scenario and if it crosses well over four thousand dollars we can see some upward stride before a correction, i am not expecting any huge rally but it is good to see some market recovery in the process, but nothing yet can be confirmed until the market has enough strength to cross the current resistance.

I understand how people got too excited with the small rise of Bitcoin from the last 48 hrs. Infact, the price hit more than $4k thrice since yesterday and it didnt stay there long, maybe because some hodlers sold their assets everytime Bitcoin hits $4k, cant blame them, theyre just taking advantage of the opportunity to sell, since we all have the luxury to buy anytime during this bearish market.

It's very hilarious that price is under 3900$ now. Not a huge drop but what I can't understand os that why it didn't give further push btc to rise more? Logically since almost everyone wants high price, then there was a very little spark but it didn't cause flame, same happened many times lately. Can anyone tell me what's wrong here? This situation is very curious and price change is hilarious because revives fake hopes for a lot of people.

That's what i've been saying for the past few days. People are already talking about bull runs with just a few hundred dollars up. This has happened several times last year and a few times already this year when the price will move up by a few hundreds and then go into correction. I doubt there'll be any real bull runs that'll happen in the first quarter of this year.

Now the test begins. Bitcoin going above 4 thousand dollars is not a shock to any one of us but bitcoin staying above 4 thousand dollars and going even higher is a big test. If we can manage to stay at these levels for a while without going down than bull could start. That is how it happened last time, bitcoin prices tested out one by one each levels we can rise and than if it didn't dropped it went up again until at one level it did went down and than everything went to hell as we all know.

Hence, if we can stay above 4 thousand dollars for a while without dropping than it will surely test out 5 thousand dollars, after that if it stays we can test out 6 thousand dollars, it will continue like that until we test out a price and it goes back down at which moment price will start to freefall. It could be at this price, it could be at 10 thousand, we have to wait and see.

Even it is too early to celebrate, it is a good news for all the hodlers of bitcoin and also a good new for the whales to come in and start making huge purchase of bitcoin. My advice to those that don't own bitcoin is for them to get as much as they can acquire now that its very cheap again before it will be too late, and this time there will be no going back because the pump will be so massive.

The market recovery is eliminating worries for me, and I think the hope of bitcoin recovery will occur this year, and profits will flow and can cover losses last year.

I would say 2020 would be enough already because we aren't sure if 2021 would be a great year for the bullish market. It might be another correction year for Bitcoin and most of us would suffer too much because we aren't ready for it and we expect the different outcome. And $4k would be the resistance but the market dropped already to $3.9k after a couple of hours. We shouldn't expect too much if we want to have a less worries.

True, we can see it going up and down, it hit $4000 and goes down again, i think it will be hard to see it going up to $4500 or higher. But something inside me want to see it going up to $20k again.

It's because speculators who might bought at the $3200-$3500 range might selling once the price hits $4000 that's why the price is having a hard time pushing, thus the growth is that sustainable at this point. CME futures expire today 04:00PM forum time, so we might be up for something. It really looks like the price wants to go up from where we are right now, and CME might give Bitcoin that extra push. CME's volume is twice that of Coinbase Pro, so for people thinking they don't have any importance here, think again.

That is truth!  Many people are building confident on the cryptocurrency market again.  I decided to hold my bitcoin and not selling after seeing the way it sparked three days ago.  I believe that bitcoin is going to grow and the next level of resistance is around $4250.

We are getting closer for the next bull run even if many investors says this is just a trap. If bitcoin was able to break $4k I think its not a bull trap, maybe its already a sign of growth. We must think wisely, and don’t make too much prediction, make a decision base on the current trend right now.

Depending which exchange you watch but not everywhere Bitcoin has crossed 4000$. Even if it did that doesn't actually mean anything because the price pulled back and besides this price growth was too small to be the sign of some substantial change on the market. Don't celebrate too soon.

Sadly, sentiment turned really bullish after these last couple moves up. People still have a lot of hope for recovery. :-\

I remember in 2015 once the bottom was already in, it wasn't like that. Sentiment was dismal and most people agreed every move up was a bull trap. It really doesn't feel like the weak hands have given up yet.

Let's continue holding our bitcoins and I believed after the previous bounces, we will see it will be crossing more than $4k in the next few weeks. I know we are all preparing to fight the last war in which that was the case. But as I already said a few times, we are in a different market today, so old patterns may no longer work and thus our expectations may fail. We crashed to 6k and had been trading there without major rebounds or breakouts. Then we crashed again to 3k and stayed there most of the time. So why can't it actually work in reverse order?

The journey is still very long and the opportunity for Bitcoin prices to increase is still very wide open, we are all in good condition and therefore we all still have hope that Bitcoin prices will rise again. but the volume has no relation to the spot market. there's no way to arbitrage, there's no physical delivery. the CME market is basically like trading a CFD. it's totally isolated from the market. there's no way it could lead the price. so it's not really important.

i'm much more concerned about bakkt because physical delivery = real effects on supply and demand.

Actually I would not expect too high, recovery is a difficult thing to happen, but for price increases I'm sure this year's bitcoin prices could be better than last year which continued to decline. the price has returned to $4000 and that's one of the signals

Bitcoin Price of Passing the $ 4,000 is actually a very important case, though the fact that the situation stabilized bura important event. Market stability, particularly the need to continue this supposed to be going to be a continuation of this upward.

It is there at 4000$ for some minutes but suddenly the price of Bitcoin has fallen to 3925$ and it seems many people are selling the bitcoin at the 4000$ level. Before that the price of Bitcoin should be stable at 3950$ above and after some the price of Bitcoin will easily cross the value of 4300$ mark.

It seems we need to see bitcoin crossed $4000 in many times and then down for a moment to gets up again. I look in the bitstamp and bitfinex, there is a big gap for the price, and I think there are many people who make arbitrage trading because they see a big profit in front of their eyes hahaha

If you want to try with arbitrage trading, you need to be careful with the time of the transaction, and I am sure that you don't want to see your bitcoin will come too late so you cannot make a profit.

$3,933 on Stamp as I type this, we are seeing $4,000 act as a strong resistance point. Hopefully it gets broken soon.

It looks like Bitcoin had a hard time breaking through $4k. It broke multiple times already, but hadnt stay there long, we're somehow stable at $3.9k, good thing it didnt fall below that. I think, a lot of people are selling at $4k causing the price to drop again.

Really we were waiting for a bull run what just happen recent days .However the price is looking so stable on around 4000$ .Now  the question is, what the next level is ?? I am waiting for a huge bull run on next and keep it on the whole year .

Don't just look at the price. Also look at the trading volume it is %50 higher than the usual ~$5b daily volume.

This trading volume is not generated by the sellers, it is the buyers this time.

I try to find some relevant information on the news but i can't explain the bump, lets see how high it goes.

If you cannot explain it, that means price is due for bullish trend and people will start to FOMO now.
Hopefully things will continue to stay green, it's love month so crypto give us some love.

Take it on a wider time frame I think you will get less spiky readings.    But I guess its right, its reflecting that we broke upwards.   I use OBV not RSI as OBV will include volume as part of its measurement

Yes people are waiting for the price to cross over 4k until they decide to dispose their coins , thats why its normal for the price to drop again at 3.9'ish levels   . though thats okay  . that is just a small difference  , what more important is that the price of btc now is more stable than compare to previous weeks   . 

It's now more than 4k$ and still moving up, those who disposed their coins after reaching 4k$ are surely regretting as the movements still showing strong,
still looking upward and with those incoming news, investors will start to show up again and make this run much stronger, looking forward to see higher

Happy to see btc breaking $4k. Finally some positive vibes happen and it's been a long time since we have this. It's fine for me even if it's not the start of bull run yet atleast we got a rise already from a long wait but of course it's better if it would be. I'd rather choose a slow rise tho.

This is what people who are trading on the price rely on when leveraging their bitcoin on these platforms like bitmex use to gain the advantage.
When it crosses a certain level such as $4000 then everybody starts to put in their price to buy knowing it will fall a bit but then rise up as it did right after you posted.
Hopefully we will see the $4300 price tomorrow as you predicted it should cross soon.

no, you're just confusing two different ideas.

the CME market = cash-settled contracts. there is no direct relation to the bitcoin markets. there is no physical settlement, no physical backing, no spot buying/selling/transferring, nothing. these are not "paper bitcoins" at all, thus not comparable to "paper gold".


that's precisely why it's a scary proposition. if traders treat bakkt futures as a purely speculative market (ie withdrawing very few bitcoins from bakkt's custody), then we're likely to see lots of supply dilution via rehypothecation. that's how central counterparties (like bakkt) make money.

this can't happen in cash-settled markets because there is no bitcoin collateral for CME or CBOE to rehypothecate. everything is 100% settled in cash so there is no risk of "paper bitcoins" diluting the supply.

But isn't it the same with gold?

As you had been saying yourself in that debate? Some traders may go for physical gold (as they are buying physically settled contracts) but many will just sell these contracts before the expiry. But we still don't see extreme volatility or insane prices with gold even if there is less physical gold in vaults than paper gold in contracts (as you claim). So why do you think Bitcoin will be different?

Now Fidelity can launch maybe even in March and also Bakkt can be set up for CFTC approval

This is possible this month, BTC is just mooning and we cannot stop it.
People around are prediction more bullish run and this time of the market where green is everywhere, it's very enticing to us to invest again.
New comers are going to accumulate at this price, run was already consistent and the support is big.

Hey it’s quiet possible we may be able to see it crossing 4500$ levels in March, I feel if this rally continues slowly but steadily we shall even see it crossing 5k levels soon. I feel the current rally began due to people buying at lower levels, and then holding it for greater returns. I’m not sure whether Fidelity or Bakkt will apply back so soon, cause these procedures take quiet a while but if they apply and get approved then definitely a big bull rally will begin.

The price was moving slowly to increase, and I see that the price moves in many times in this day, the bitcoin price is up and down. I see on Poloniex that the price does not break $4200 level price, but the other exchange already reached it.

And if I check on the order buy and sell, I see the price it seems cannot increase too high, so I become a little bit worried to see the down for the price.

As the market value of bitcoin continues to fall lately, so many things had crossed in my mind if bitcoin has really reached the bottom or something and uptrend is going to happen. It's like more of a pump-and-dump scenario now because even a small spike of its market value can give you a decent profit.

Looks like the turbo bump is over, was just a bulls bad joke as we can see, the bump is over and now we are back to the crash speculation. This markets only play with our feelings, lol. I don't think it will be able to hit $4500 in the next weeks.

I was very happy when I saw this but accidentally, it didn't happen the way I want it because traders took their profits too early to start a new base price again. It was expected to happen though but too early and I am sure it got some members furious for the 30minutes sharp drop.

Finally, the price went up. Three steps up and one down - now the situation is so. I am pleased that the cost of the remaining cryptos has gone up too. It looked like a new bullrun, but the price is again under $ 4k.
New bullrun not and not come. We're still waiting. At the moment, patience is the only key and we will wait for more growth.

Nothing else can be done but hope for the best, there are pros and cons for this Bakkt so there are still doubts what it can be knowing we don't want a centralized regulatory  system. Although they are very much needed for the mass adoption so if it can be launched as early as this March, the earlier we know what it can do to the market. Its interesting but can also be scary for the crypto.

Bitcoin passed $ 4,000 in just a few days, and now the price is back down in the range of $ 3,800. It seems that it is still very difficult for bitcoins to get past $ 4,000, it looks like it will take longer to get past. We have to wait more patiently and hopefully this doesn't last long.

The daily chart for BTC is so extremely bullish. I would rather have this for 365 days in a row instead of the crazy runs that lead to long squeezes and stop hunting.

The recovery after the dump down has been exactly what I look for. Slow steady rise of the bottom (not the peaks, but rather the valleys). This signifies more and more holders who aren't selling, and who are now at their entry ground floors.
