I think its confirmed, and honestly it made me goosebump because it looks like most of the big companies are now  supporting cryptocurrency. This is the beginning, we will benefit a lot from this market.  :)

Sooner or later this had to happen. If it wouldn't have been Samsung then it would have been another company like Huawei, in my opinion. This is surely great, especially because we see Samsung being the first mobile company that supports cryptocurrency and not some Chinese company, even though that wouldn't be necessarily bad.

This is great, after much speculations. Samsung been a household name, with their crypto incorporation. this will in no doubt lend credence to doubters. I wonder what some of my friends who are critical of crypto but lovers of Samsung will say or do now. Maybe this will just be a game changer. I am blessed to be alive at this moment of time, and to know the direction of money.

Samsung is acting smartly before other competitors take leadership in crypto related apps or smartphones. IMHO they want to be ready for possible adoption if it gonna happen before 2020.

This is becomes a great step  for cryptocurrency, when one of the largest electronics companies in the world is interested in adopting digital assets. Furthermore, we only need to wait how the new smartphone can have a positive impact.

This is indeed a great news, I do love Samsung and now I can safely store my keys with them. Though I think there must be clear explanation on where they will put your private keys since it is very important for every investors to protect it. Nevertheless, this is still a good news and many big phone companies will follow this one, who know Apple might also introduce this kind of features this year.

I got notification about it few minutes ago and seems good news. I also read that the first version will only belong to Ethereum, if I remember correctly.

With cryptocurrency who enters the market at the earliest will serve as the leader. In this Samsung is very strong with technology adoption as well supportive measures. From last year quite often we get to have news relating cryptocurrency and Samsung. Earlier it started with the manufacturing of mining chips, later the wallet, now once again it has revealed its inbuilt cryptocurrency wallet on the smartphone S10.

Samsung being one of the leading contributor in the global smartphone market each and every service added to it will be explored by its consumers. With this people who haven't known about cryptocurrency will also try to find what it is, and the same questioning will make them users of cryptocurrency. This way through different way it has been adding value to cryptocurrency network.

I read about it a couple of hours ago and I'm so happy about the news. We are on course for another bull run as the largest phone manufacturer is basically helping cryptocurrency go mainstream. They will have Galaxy S10 be built in with "defense-grade Samsung Knox, as well as a secure storage backed by hardware, which houses your private keys for blockchain-enabled mobile services." The fact that private keys is mentioned along with the wallet is a good sign. I actually might consider buying an S10 if it doesnt cost me a kidney. :D

Gradually Samsung is making inroads into cryptocurrencies using the new smartphone having done a case study and are now successfully launching the phone, this is a welcome development and a leeway for Cryptos enthusiasts to have more options in storing their coins and probably will paveway for more adoption of Cryptos.

Some source says it costs $1,980 but there's also another source that says it's price costs $1,600. Well, regardless of the price the most important for the crypto market is its feature. Big companies aren't ignore the potential of crypto's now.

I'm pretty sure this is not the reason. Even though Samsung makes a device that support crypto wallet, it doesn't boost any crypto adoption tbh. We already can manage our crypto with Coinomi or something similar.

This phone is way too costly, even if I'm a die hard fans of cryptocurrency I won't spend $2k just to buy this phone. Pretty sure their target market is not so different with S9+, middle class up to rich people who can easily spend $2k for a new phone. Does this mean Bitcoin will be used or adopted by more people? Not really I bet.

This indeed a good news, but I'm bothered of our private keys, wouldn't get compromise? If it got stolen, I don't think the thief knew what's in their like PK but what if they sell it to people that have at least a knowledge in crypto. I think we're all fucked if that's gonna happen.

Don't worry it will just cost you one kidney. The release price will be $750, that's for Galaxy 10E their cheapest haha.

I also agree that with this feature we will be exposing our private keys to samsung and in future if the hacker finds a way to hack the wallet then it will be very hard to save it. As all samsung mobiles will be exposed. So this news is good and bad also. hope future will be good enough for this success.

I doubt it will cost 1980$ or even 1600$ just because they have added something related to crypto. S9 price was a bit over 700$ when it was released so for S10 the maximum price I expected to be is 1500$ but even that seems much. It will probably be somewhere around 1000-1250$.
Honestly I don't expect other big companies to be very excited about this. Even though this is something new and Samsung is the first company to implement cryptocurrencies into a smartphone there is still enough time for it to be developed. Probably IPhone could come up with something better then they will start fighting for who's better in cryptocurrency technology  ;D ;D ;D

We always say this is beginning for cryptocurrency when there are some company which supports the development of cryptocurrency. Whereas there were many companies have received and supported cryptocurrency well before. Such as Dell, expedia and Beepi has received bitcoin well, but it's always strange why everyone when finding the latest information always says this beginning, I guess 10 years is not a new place/new technology bitcoin is worthy of being called a technology which can be calculated for its function.

I'm still not buying this, too expensive to be honest. I'm an old school as you can get so I would rather buy hardware wallets as they're way more cheaper plus you still feel safe. I'm not saying that the Samsung phone is bad, but we all know our smart phones are always online, so there is the risk than your wallet can be expose and your coins can be compromise, just saying.

It is a really exciting news for everyone involved in the market without a doubt and i would like to see the review on how it is and their security features, will i be purchasing a phone to store my coins in the wallet provided by samsung, for small amount i might store in that wallet but i will not risk big amounts since mobiles are the most insecure devices to stores all these sensitive data and that too which cannot be backtracked and decentralized.  ;)

i am still not sure about this. i think i have to wait until it is actually released to see what it is doing. at this point it mostly seems like the infrastructure that allows storage of private keys in a secure manner in the phone's hardware and it is not a wallet but you have to build wallets on top of it yourself. if that is the case then it can be a good thing in my opinion although it still is a bit strange to be honest.

Ohhh Samsung is making a smart move with new addition innovative feature that bridge the gap between the people who hasnt introduced to cryptocurrency yet and the people who are currently into it. These could be both benificial for the company and customers.
Anyway, I will be expecting an arising issue regarding that specific feature, most especially if we're talking about how secure is the private key storage, especially when the phone is lost or stolen. Everyone knows that this phone contains and support financial information in cryptocurrency, It might be someone would try to get in to your storage. Trust me, someone will gonna do it.

The price of smartphone obviously will be expensive but i would listen from people reviews during use this whether it will be good or bad but i have to says Samsung already makes important step when decide to involved to cryptocurrencies industry and they as the pioneer should be followed to other vendor because if this is successfully and people satisfied with that smartphone i think possibly to crypto users switching their smartphone to Samsung and automatically Samsung can increase their costumers

This is a welcoming news for everyone, specially though techie out there, who loves to have the latest technology on their hand.  ;D. This could be a win win situation for samsung and the crypto enthusiast. Now we enjoy the best of both worlds. Right now we have no idea exactly how it works. People are arguing all over Reddit that its not a "wallet" and just something to "store private keys" which doesn't make much sense.

By the context, it looks like their version of a built-in hardware wallet not just a private key storage (if ever, it will be an obsolete feature).
This could mean that they are planning to release services, apps or integrate with existing services which will make use of the locally stored private keys to use just like a hardware wallet.

This is obviously amazing news and I really wonder what the impact of this will be.
You've basically got the largest smartphone manufacturer actively promoting Bitcoin to all of its users, literally millions of people worldwide.

Of course, most people probably won't even use this wallet, but just to have the wallet there on their phone gives Bitcoin a whole lot of exposure.

Samsung is fighting competition which is very harsh and this is probably the decision they made to be at least one step in front of them. Which is definetely good news for all cryptocurrencies users and Samsung will get new customers. But it's yet to see how will this function in reality and what will be security features and possible vulnerabilities, that is very important.

There were big names and companies that was link with crypto in the recent news, this could be many of reasons why the price  increase a little. If more news is going to spread and would give people good impression, this could lead to continuous growth of price. It's the best time to buy and hold, sooner or later the price will go better.

An expensive phone like this doesn’t even fit on my pocket, so I will also not buy this one just because they support cryptocurrency. Anyway, I also love an old school phone but of course this is great for samsung users here.

Yes, that's what it does, it stores your private keys and it gives access to the 3rd party app you want to use as a wallet to them :P. Feeling safe?

This will make a domino effect with other phone brands. Other phone brands will do what Samsung did too in the next years. I'm happy that they supported cryptocurrency for a long time already and this additional feature is another step for mass adoption since many are using Samsung in the world.

I already heard about this rumor last week, The phone has special features on crypto, Well it is Samsung last time I posted some news here about them making their own mining equipments.

On a more serious note, i do see it as a very good way of bringing the awareness of blockchain and crypto to a more vast audience, more people who buy this phone will definitely see that feature, those who don't already have idea about crypto will be eager to know, so, it's good news in a way.

Yeah, it's a bit strange, but my problem is that hackers all all over the place, so the possibility is always there, but we will see, I'm sure there could be lots of mix emotions about it one, specially for those crypto holders who are paranoid about security.


For me as long as the phone has the basic support, ability to call or received a call, of course the sms messages, then I'm fine with what phone I'm using. Pretty great news but there's a lot of promotion news before sumsung company creating smartphone use for crypto currency. But can't help for bouncing the value of crypto rumor is only a rumor possible become drawing not become true. But i hope there's have a good result about this rumor news.

This is cool but it would be nice to see Samsung make a heavy push into the mining business.  We don't have too many competitors to go against Bitmain.  They basically have a monopoly at this point.

Waiting for reviews on Samsung knox. What would be the other two largest digital assets apart from BTC and ETH? Anyway Samsung is one of the largest mobile manufacturer who supports Crypto currencies on its flagship device. I hope other giants in the relevant field would step forward and adopt new technology. If that is going to happen, we would witness a mass adoption of crypto currencies.

Has it really been confirmed? I wonder how exactly they'll implement this and how the keys can be safely stored in the phone. If any hacking happens it'll be a big setback for the company.

It still good to know that these giant companies have thought about specializing on some people's special needs like having this kind of feature. Hey this is indeed good news for cryptocurrency as Samsung is a big brand, and this news shall spread like wild wire. I’m keen to find out what exactly it’ll do, will it allow users to pay crypto’s and buy it’s devices in Samsung stores?. I feel you’re right to assume that Samsung’s support to cryptocurrency will lead many big other organisations to adopt crypto’s which in turn can spark a rally.

Samsung are in the mining business. They've been contracted to make mining chips.

Beyond that it's such an obscure market there's zero reason for them to bother. On top of the obscurity look at the potential swing in your fortunes. Narcissists will always want the latest phones. You can't say the same for something as brutal as mining. Nvidia were hammered by it.

I see it more like a feature to make people discuss about the new phone(s). I would not use something this expensive and this prone to be stolen to keep my keys.
If Trezor or Ledger still have flaws after such long experience, I expect S10 will also have flaws. And while the dedicated wallets will clearly get updates even in 3 years, Samsung probably not (it's actually one of the reasons I don't use Samsung smartphones anymore).

I would say it's the best feature a cell phone rolled out so far, better than a camera

I am very much amazed that the Samsung company which we all know and aware are one of the biggest companies around the world, and they already been supporting the crypto currencies around the world through the use of this new released smartphone of Samsung.

It's going to have some nice features like power sharing that allows you to wirelessly charge your phone from another S10. The crypto wallet is confirmed also.

I think this is the best samsung they will ever release 'cause according to my research it is 1 TB. You're bringing and holding your 1 TB phone and that's very intellectual idea. Also, if the rumors is true that it will allowed cryptocurrency storage, I will buy that thing.

Will Samsung Pay make use of blockchain technology in the future or maybe allow their phones to 'mine'? With the way mobile processing is improving with Samsung Phones always getting the latest from Qualcomm, this is a possibility. Though there are coins right now and apps that allow 'mining', still it is not native to the phone.

Don’t see any major media in my place reporting about the cryptowallet, they are trying to avoid this one. Well, that’s the way they handle cryptocurrency ever since, they will only report all the negative things. Yes, I agree it's going to be a domino effect among smart phone users and they will going to compete among cryptocurrency supporters which is growing in numbers now, this is a good indication that cryptocurrency is making progress and they are now being adopted by giant telecom industry.

This is just the beginning. Cryptocurrency has got all it takes to attract the interest and attention of these big companies because it is gradually becoming the order of the day in terms of payment both online and offline. Almost new released phones they say that it was the best but later on they will release a new model with a higher specs than the old one  but 1tb is really shocking and too good to be true . i think this is the first phone that have a large memory but thats not important because ram and other specs are still more important for a tech savy users .


Thats what im also thinking.  I think the phone is built with a hardware wallet and not just a regular online wallet because almost any phone can installed an online wallet via the app  . i guess that makes this phone extra ordinary .

The question right now is how secure it will be. Hackers are getting into exchanges, what more into their phones? How long is the actual durability of that phone? Questions are always popping in because we all know how security is the number one priority in cryptocurrency.

I am a big fan and user of Samsung phones,,in fact this new features will help me, not only me but those crypto lovers, in finding alternative ways in protecting their crypto assets..imagine how many users of crypto will compensate on this new phone features,,that seems to be very enormous users who will patronized such use of phones..I guess many other smartphone companies will be going to include crypto in developing their new model of phones..

To me, they just wanted to be "the first" smartphone to implement such feature that they can brag about. If the technology became mainstream, they already at the starting line and can immediately proceed to increase the user-base, thus their market.

I would rather worry more about 90% of the apps that were Malwares/Adwares and Online Smartphone Groups that can potentially crack the encryption (using an alibi of testing their phone's security) of the stored private keys than my phone being stolen, I never had such incident.

For me this is a very positive news, we see bitcoin is increasingly recognized and supported by many big companies. This is one of the factors that will help bitcoin spread to all people around the world, thereby boosting the market to grow again. I think soon the big companies will join the cryptocurrency market in the form of releasing cryptocurrency-related products.

I would always prefer Samsung over Huawei as that is under the influence of its own government which has the ambition of ruling the world in place of the USA haha. But anyway am sure that all big telecom companies now are also looking into this trend and if this can be accepted by the market then we can see all of them offering the same feature soon. True. It's got to be something else. Otherwise no point tauting it as crypto friendly. So either a hardware wallet or some sort of software vault like how most phones come with cloud storage.

It has to be a secure element setup like a hardware wallet. The security assurances there -- as far as we know -- are pretty good. We'll only really know years down the road when this technology is sufficiently hardened.

I'm pretty surprised to see Samsung jumping into the fray with consumer key storage this soon. I agree the optics will be bad if there are any serious security holes with their implementation.

What about the security, like if the software of the phone gets corrupt, then what will happen to the wallet as you should have some backup to load your old wallet.

Its no different than if you've lost your phone or you dropped it into the ocean. You need to keep a copy of a backup somewhere.

Most likely if you backup to a PC, the private keys will be encrypted so if your PC is compromised your keys will be safe.

Until we get our hands on this phone, we won't know for sure how it will work. Maybe Samsung will provide Cloud backups also, hopefully encrypted and secure.

I'm not sure how inclined I'd be to trust something that hadn't been developed from the off with the daddy in mind. It smacks of some very odd priorities to me. Perhaps they're envisaging a rather different future than us lot.

Since it's been a couple days and people are finally receiving their S10 it looks like it's not available on all phones.

Basically in the USA and Canada if you got an unlocked S10 from the Samsung store, it doesn't have it installed.

If you got a Korean phone it should have it installed and if you got an T mobile branded locked USA phone it should have it installed.

You can check by going into security settings and there should be a Samsung blockchain option there.

With this current confirmation of the Samsung, many crypto users becomes on ear to the Samsung company statements. Surely, just like me, they are excited to have the said new launched smartphone which have a good features of having an on the blockchain capability, built within the smartphone S10.

Yes it is, they have been know the crypto user eternally grow up per years, so as this is a chance for them to facilitate its user who have asset cryptocurrency.

Or another goal is introduce to many people about cryptocurrency, AFAIK Samsung is a company that is immensely open and even interested towards the development of cryptocurrency and blockchain so far.

Well, this may vary from your country or what but I don't know the reason why its not available on all S10.

Never heard about this thing, but let give more time for Samsung anyway this is just a cryptowallet not a coin or any form of investment so I think this will work well.

I pretty sure there are options to have it available.
I'm not aiming for this phone right now but in case I have to buy, I'll make sure it's unlock.
This phone is pretty expensive but I might consider buying it since it has a wallet and the first phone that supports crypto.

This news sounds cool and I think the Samsung company really knows the potential of the Crypto Currency industry. I'm just wondering what kind of Crypto wallet does Samsung promoting in their newest Samsung Galaxy s10, is it like an app based wallet like the ones that we can download in the play store but with high-security features or a built-in Crypto wallet same as the Nano ledgers. ??? I read the news and also thought there was no real merit to it. Turns out i was wrong and its true, this is amazing and i hope competitors follow by example.

The first who will feel this progress will be Samsung.Because the company will have no competitors in this field.(originally).It’s strange for me why other companies don’t do anything after the announcement of Samsung. At least some reaction should be.At this stage, it seems to me that you need to tell everyone about this news. This is the first bell to the mass adoption of cryptocurrency.

Samsung is not the first company made such moves in financial technology industry. However, the tech companies never join the first the revolution of the cryptography industries. Hope the industrial treatment will be a good compared to the previous treatment of the generation.

the mention of Samsung cryptocurrency will increase sales is 100%.  But I want to note another thing that large companies support cryptocurrency.  cryptocurrency is developing in this way. I'm not sure that if it goes further, cryptocurrency may well replace the financial system.

This is great news for every crypto enthusiast! I read some news about it, but I did not care by thinking a fake rumor! After hearing about the JP  organ's coins, I was really excited by assuming the future of crypto. Now, another big name Samsung making big news for the crypto platform. And, I think too, Crypto will have all the big facilities. I want to mention Twitter's CEO Jacke Dorsey's words " Bitcoin will be the money for the Internet" and it will be used in our real life permanently.

What? I can't even believe some people still can't wake up from the dreams or HYPE, even if big companies support the cryptocurrency there is no way for to see a collapse of the current monetary system in the next decade in my opinion. For replacing the financial system, the volatility problems should be solved with efficient options, there are still many people who don't have a bank account. P2P payment systems usually failed due to the pressure by the middle parties and the middleman in the current financial system is the banking platforms.

This is really good news for everyone in this market. Samsung is a major corporation in the field of cryptocurrencies, which will encourage followers of the Crypto market to buy their products. This is very important and I hope other brands' smartphones will follow this path. Given the price of the S10 it is probably suitable for every feature that it offers good security for its users. This market is getting bigger and growing and there will be a lot of hackers. I support Samsung.

Samsung has done something that other smartphones have not done, which is admirable. Indeed, that price may be quite expensive compared to the consumer market, but in return the functions and security of it in Crypto are worth it. The S10 will attract investors in the cryptocurrency market and cause other phone companies to follow suit.

This is one of the things I liked about Asians tech companies,especially those from South Korea and Japan they are very open to new technological adoption, if their phone become a hit, i can see most of the phone release in 2020 having these blockchain features which will help in the market penetration of blockchain technology
