Post by: johnsix12 on February 27, 2019, 04:06:25 AM
********CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? I TRIED CONTACTING COIN-POT CUSTOMER SUPPORT OVER AND OVER AND OVER WITH NO REPLY!!********

It all started because i lost my  phone and i have 2FA activated and have lost the reset  code. normally on any normal site i would it generally would be a minor problem, but

because coin-pot support refuses to answer my 4 EMAILS OVER 4 WEEKS, IT is now a major problem. in my emails i have been fairly professional and courteous,

however i

may have been frustrated in my last. This is uncategorically unacceptable!!! Coin-pot should not play with peoples BTCpt] like that. i hope they answer this Please coinpot if

you could answer me please, i will provide the email address connected to my account and any information required and would be tremendously appreciative!! or if anyone

knows how i can go about getting into my account? i would be like help? thanks!  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm afraid we can't help you at all. If their support doesn't give you an answer, then you can either: report it to the authorities or increase public awareness about them. They'll be the only one who can help you with your problem.

Anyway, you're talking about this site, right? https://coinpot.co/?

Yeahh no one in here can help you as your problem needs someone from the inside to take action and there's no one like that in here. The only way to contact them is through email which isn't reliable from the looks of it. There's a lot of ppl who had the same prob as yours but so far, I haven't seen anyone who got in contact with their support.

Did you ever receive an automated reply saying that they got your request or you are in queque somewhere along those lines?

That would be a big problem. Coinpot has feature in the login page where you can request to reset your 2fa but according to Coinpot that you need to require or include the 2fa secret key when you are requesting to reset your 2fa through email.

So, if you don't have the 2fa secret key it's useless and I am sure your account will be lose forever.

*snip*

bummer. Should've read the guidelines OP. Anyway, though your chances of regaining back your account is pretty slim anyway, try posting on r/Coinpot[1] to possibly gain a bit of publicity(though it's your fault in the first place, due to carelessness). You have nothing to lose by trying to post there I guess.

I'm afraid that even with the secret key, their support never responds at all. There are a ton of people who could relate to this.

I've sent two emails regarding a deposit issue with BCH and they never replied.

Yeah you won't get an answer from them, they arguably have the worst support of any website I know.
I've contacted them before for minor issues, but never even got a response from them.

Heck, I wasn't even asking anything weird or anything, just if they could check something in my account.

talking about the same problem. Of course you have reason to be angry, but be careful because you can be banned from the forum for spamming

Coinpot doesn't have an "active" ANN thread here so if we are looking for some inside person, we can't get much help here.

4 weeks waiting is really frustrating and unprofessional to the side of Coinpot if you think you are right here.

How much BTC is involved here? Sorry but you really need to ready yourself for "moving on".

but according to Coinpot that you need to require or include the 2fa secret key when you are requesting to reset your 2fa through email.

LOL. Does coinpot realize how useless is that? If users had the secret key, they can just use it to generate the codes(otp's) again themselves, hence there's no need to contact the support.

So, if you don't have the 2fa secret key it's useless and I am sure your account will be lose forever.

Welp true, this is a dead end for op.

@op, Next time try not lose your secret key, store it in somewhere safe and(or) use an auth app that has a backup feature e.g. authy, andOTP...

Correct but we dont actually get why they had suggested such thing.

This is the problem if we do carelessly didnt save up important keys with our wallet.Sooner or later you would really regret once you do experience retrieval problem.Chances of recovery
would really be slim on this case.

I honestly wonder if they ever check their emails, or all emails are set to enter their "IGNORE" filter.

Many times i fault individuals who will not do due diligence online on any platform before embarking on registry on the platform. Initially Coinpot was known as a reputable platform until when a friend of my complained bitterly about his inability to access her wallet, we then proceed to support team but there was not rely till date, so, lets OP just relax his mindset and then focus on the present and not the past.

I don't think that even coin pot can help you if you have lost both your 2fa key and mail too but if you are able to recover your mail I think the support team from coin pot can definitely help.

It looks like CoinPot is one man operation, and their support actually does not exist. Unfortunately in such cases account is lost, and although it is advisable to use 2FA wherever possible, it is also necessary to know that people are making mistakes like this one.

Much better option for those who use faucets is FaucetHub, very good support, big community and 2FA which is working by sending secret code on your e-mail. So only way to lose access to your account is if you lose access to your e-mail.

That seems so unfair for the users, I also lost my 2FA and the secret key on an exchange. This exchange require KYC, and I already verified my ID, so the only thing I need to do is prove that I still held my ID. I don't know if coinpot deman KYC or not, but if yes, they should also use the same method, instead of just abandoning their customer.

Coinpot's not a malicious entity, however, like most small operations (and we're probably talking about only a couple of guys at most), they never are able to have any level of customer support.

If it's not a significant amount, I suggest you just forget it. Otherwise, keep making sure you post visibly on their official channels (social media, official ANN thread) but don't do it too often. Annoying them isn't going to help you (sorry, that's the reality).

Meanwhile, think about getting your own Bitcoin client.
