Title: ASG Mining, is anyone using their miners?
Post by: SnowMan83 on March 01, 2019, 07:55:28 PM
The numbers seem too good to be true and I couldn't find any reviews of the company online...hmmm...

Is anyone running one of their miners?

https://asgmining.com/shop

46 TH @ 1185W miner with free shipping and only 0.45 BTC??

I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I'm just a home miner looking to make a few more burritos per day.

Never heard of them and I've been mining since 2014. Given the specs and pricing I would be HIGHLY suspect that they are a scam.

For one, why does their "About Us" page make statements about the company being Certified for Welding Processes which is only needed for Marine, Aerospace, vehicle, buildings, etc., structural assemblies? Hardly something an electronics company would have. Then there is that link to a very fake feeling 'review' naming them along with REAL miner makers...

They rate right up there with a certain 'miner' company that traces to a Lingerie manufacturer in Bulgaria...

edit: after a little checking - I am calling it a DEFINITE SCAM!

I don't find any reviews about this site so I think better to stay away on this site because the site is lier look at the footer "© ASG MINING  2016-2019."

Sooo they are supposed to be headquartered in Sweden and yet are registered through a Russian Domain company? Riiiight....  ???
The company name on the certs point to a services company: here is said company's fields of expertise: https://www.asg.hu/EN/field_of_activity.php -- building machines , mobile cranes, marine pontoons, etc.
Not miners.

If you cast your mind back to the middle of last year, you may recall this scam accusation thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197) regarding ASGARD miners, which ended with their disappearance in a flurry of deletions.

Well, they're back, ASGARD (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4565688.0) = ASG......  ::)

From the ASGARD thread

Aaah "Stefan", Head of PR Department.
Good looking young man from his picture.
Unfortunately they removed it as well as "Josef Head of Sales" photograph. Maybe they read my post about him not really being "Josef Head of Sales" but a chap from Odessa called Roman, on the Valet.ru. site, before they deleted it.
But actually, they didn't quite delete "Stefan", 'cos if you look closely at the Jivo window there's a thumbnail of him, which searches back to... Valet.ru.

Now pop over to the new ASG website, https://asgmining.com/about_us.
There to welcome you is.... Stefan.
And, in the background, you'll see the email addys of his previous ASGARD cohorts, Josef and Alexey.
He's grown a beard and put on weight: not really, ASG have just nicked a different stock pic from VK.com.

On top of everything else the building they claim is their office is a Regus office space rental, and it's a 6 floor building, out of which only the first 4 are offices/restaurant ... they are supposed to be on the 8th.

Literally on top of everything else then, including the roof.

A strange thing I found when looking at their site under "News"....an item headlined (https://asgmining.com/news/post_title012345678910)

ASG MINING is included in the list of eleven key companies producing miners worldwide.

This links via "read more" to a report grandly titled "Global Bitcoin Miner Market Growth 2018-2023" (https://www.journaldairy.com/bitcoin-miner-market-comprehensive-analysis-by-2018-2023-bitmain-technologies-canaan-creative-halong-mining-bitfury-group-asicminer-russian-miner-coin-black-arrow-innosilicon-asg-mining-zhej-122144/), which does indeed list ASG, along with

• Bitmain Technologies
• Canaan Creative
• Halong Mining
• BitFury Group
• ASICminer
• Russian Miner Coin
• Black Arrow
• Innosilicon
• Asg-Mining
• Zhejiang Ebang Communication
• Bittech

What exactly is going on there, I'm not sure.
I was going to have a look at the report, then found out it was $4660+ a pop, so I won't.

Saw that as well.  It is strange. On the other hand though asicminervalue.com still lists ASICminer as a trusted manufacturer.  I guess it all comes down to how much someone is willing to pay to be listed as a reliable manufacturer.

  "46 TH @ 1185W"  = craig wright is satoshi.
