Title: ★ Introducing A Obvious 🔴Scam🔴 ★
Post by: TalkStar on March 09, 2019, 05:35:56 PM
What happened: Scam attempt.
Thread link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5118618.msg50089282#msg50089282   (Archived (http://archive.is/zpq2f))
Profile-1: davidx2019 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2559696)
Profile-2: bittenb (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2559806)

Lets see their unrealstic offer:

Western Union transfers. Pay with BTC and receive clean $ money to pick up where you want. Make money with us!

Prices of Western Union transfers:

1000$ Transfer = 150$ BTC
2500$ Transfer = 250$ BTC
3500$ Transfer = 350$ BTC
5000$ Transfer = 500$ BTC

For example, if you pay $150 worth of BTC you will receive a $1000 Western Union transfer

It is to notify everyone that this guy is offering 1000$ western union instead of 250$ which is nothing but a trap of stealing money. Anyone can easily detect his scam packages IMO. This guy is also giving fake reviews by using another alt account. Please stay far from this.

I'd be surprised that anyone would fall for this. That's how obvious it is. Self moderated and locked thread is never legit.

But honestly, the digital goods section is flooded with scams like this. It doesn't matter what payment processor or payment method that they are conducting their trades via, if the rates seem too good to be true, then they are, 100%. I see this a lot with absurd discounts on paypal balances, and gift cards that are sold in the same subforum. People can spot this WU scam from a mile away, yet they seem to think that gift card trades are different or something. Just don't be greedy and avoid them, because even if you do get paid (very unlikely), chances are you have received fraudulently obtained funds/gift cards.

BTW, could davidx2019 be an alt of DavidXXXX which is a known scammer with a ton of alts? This is completely unbased, and pure speculation. But there is a possibility given the similarity in the names.

Add their forum nicks to the title of this thread in order to make easier for anyone to find it. The members posting on their thread are clear alts.

Yeah personally I feel so strange after seeing the return amount of those packages. From my view after showing this kind of unrealistic offers if any investors put his/her fund then its completely on his/her own risk. We can't do anything with anyones own decission but what can do is just increasing awareness about those scammers.

Thanks for the encouragement. I feel it as a responsibility to help our forum community by revealing those kinda fraudulent activities. Yeah its true that some users are joining just for doing scam and we should stand together against them to keep our forum safe.

Yeah its really interesting to find the connectivity where they are offering same kinda service. Another thing is that a user MrBossMan Is Back (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2555402) who is distrusted by our DT members is supporting there on the post. Most probably those accounts are using by same owner IMO
