l just stumbled on a report to the UN Security Council on the extensive involvement of North Korea in hacking incidents over the past 4 years; notably, the NEM hacking that stole more than $520m dollars. Do you see this happening again in the future? what does this mean for the future of crypto? Do you see this happening again in the future? There's no way to prevent hackings if the exchanges or any crypto service has a weak security measures. As the security tightens, these hackers will always find a way to hack but I believe that the strongest security would always win through daily updates.what does this mean for the future of crypto? Does this bothers you? The large companies will create for sure some rules that will disallow this kind of support.Title: Re: States sponsoring crypto hacking Post by: Kiweikoo on March 11, 2019, 10:22:18 AM I don't think a government would be involved in that kind of act to scam people of their money, though anything is possible in this world, it is possible they are doing it just to make people scared about investing in crypto because they know that crypto is a very big threat to their economy and also their control over money.
If this act can be committed by a state, then I see a very big issue in the future for many crypto companies. They seem to be good at hacking, I just found this article posted just last year https://blockonomi.com/north-korea-cryptocurrency-hacking/ This is one of the big issue that keeps people from having second thought investing in Cryptocurrency, exchanges that cannot prove that they are hacking proof should close shop people keep losing money because of this hacking. Anytime I hear any news concerning attacks or hack on exchanges or wallets, I get worried and scared at the same time. I have lost money from such attacks before and it is not a pleasant experience. There is more to be done to safeguard the interest of all crypto investors.

When it comes to North Korea, I really don’t doubt their involvement in such kind of activities and since the report is coming from UN security though I will not believe the story to be true too until I read it myself from the source but I can’t vouch for North Korea and probably the reason why they are camouflaging about non exposure of citizens to internet usage in order not to look suspicious in anything that has to do with internet scam.If this act can be committed by a state, then I see a very big issue in the future for many crypto companies. Such news manipulates your mind. Today is North Korea, tomorrow is Iraq, Russia and so on. News is another option for population management.
