Edit: A proper go at this method to come this weekend (not enough caffeine in my system atm - if only I had Starbucks - *appears to be caught in a chicken and the egg scenario*), but as WaffleMaster stated, it does appear to be solid and is zero/low-risk on your part. Edit 2: No luck so far (although Starbucks response system seems to be very slow/possibly faulty atm). I will talk with the seller when possible this week to see if I'm leaving out a critical step (which if so, might help others out). Edit 3: Apologies for the long delay between updates. I was able to receive a $25 credit (I was hoping for 2x that but I may make another attempt since it'd be nice to at least break even).
