Title: What's the most toxic personality types in crypto?
Post by: defaced on March 30, 2019, 12:32:48 AM
For me its the people who think anything they didnt make money on is a scam. Those are also the same type of people who think anything that does make them money is a legit project. These are the worst type of people in the space because ultimately they are the biggest suckers and they make us all look bad.

A close second for me is the people who think they are entitled to your time. So if you block them on social media, or on a forum, or in a chatroom or something they make like 10 accounts to try and get even with you because their feelings are hurt.

What do you think?

The shill armies are real, on Bitcointalk ANNs, through Telegram groups and virtually elsewhere. While I don't necessarily know the type of personality, more often than not a lot of bigger ICO's that are more shady will hire full time posters, chatters and etc to promote their coin or to have activity "pumped" so it looks like it's a highly sought-after coin/backed by real value. Paying for fake volume, or targeting one of the known exchanges, is one of many methods post-ico or post-launch method of these types of behaviors, to "display that that coin has significant value"

Unless you dig deep into these accounts, you will never know the difference. This is ultimately a problem that will never go away, as it's preferred method of "promotion" by scam ICOs.

There's only a few solutions to this problem and that's really to speak out if you believe this is occurring (with something you're highly invested into ofc) and let people know that there's possible corruption and manipulation occurring. For most, this is not something anyone will ever come to notice until it's too late.

people I don't like are those who always say things without proof. whether it is for his benefit or because he also does not know. this can make other people think the same as them. and one even though it is bad for those who only think short, but we still need them. crypto currently requires investors, so whatever their nature, they are still investors.

The first one you mentioned is my choice too.

Those people that doesn't have crypto's and yet, they are giving sentiment that people who holds any crypto (bitcoin/Ethereum) are scammers. They don't understand what they are saying and don't know what volatility means. They look at the bad times of crypto but praising it if its on all time high.

Those who knows everything and have strong opinion despite they entered the market only a few months ago could
be also irritating. And when thing does not work out as they expected then blaming others for their own decisions.
Becoming expert on this market takes time and lot of learning on mistakes, preferable not on your own ones.

I agree with you, and I also hates those when moon people and stuff, saying the project was scam just because the price of the project is decreasing, it's so irritating and annoying. It's just like their main job was only creating fud and fomo.

Yea the clickfarm shill armies are the worst. I loathe the personality types that use them.

The problem with speaking out is then they turn their bots on you and hit you with a relentless amount of fud that can even effect your home life.

I think there are alot of people in this space that do get paid to do that. Other fudders do it because they feel powerless because they were blocked in a chat, or they lost money on a trade. I hate the people who think coin devs are responsible for what happens on exchanges. Like.. no fam I didnt pump my project with 1000 btc, I dont even have 1000 btc because I sold most of my btc at $2/piece.

Yea holy shit those are indeed the worst. The people who talk in absolutes and pretend they know you intimately because they have seen you on social media ring right up there with them.

I would say most exchange owners in general.  They are the some of the shadiest people in crypto.  Taking bribes to list scam projects, faking volume, stealing customers' funds.  Then they all conspire to charge high trading fees when they have very little overhead.

2nd goes to the people that declare anything that isn't bitcoin to be a scam.

For me, the most toxic ones in Crypto are the YouTubers that speak and teach Trading, since most are selling smoke, and the best way to unmask them is because they never do a live trading, or they do not show the balance and profits of the advice they give, and the worst thing is that they offer expensive courses to take away people's money.

1. People who spread FUD in the community and speculating things to be worse.

2. Panic who do sell quickly because of some fake news or falling graph.

3. Those people who dont know or dont have knowledge in cryptocurrency and still they are playing around and telling its a scam or not worth to stay and earn.

4. Fake ICO team who are scammers!

Most toxic are those who are just creating the currency for the sole purpose of scamming followed by the bounty hunter who are promoting all these scam currencies so that they can earn some pennies.

This is the thing I meet most often, and most popular. Admin skip their questions, they directly make a riot and shout scam.

Are you reffering on ICO? whether you agree or not there is a high chance that those  projects that didn't raised enough is a scam they didn't raised enough because investors are not interested and possibly made a background check with fake team, plagiarized whitepaper, etc. But I don't like people accusing a certain project without any valid proof and spreading fud.

In my view the most toxic people in crypto are cheaters and scammers.

Due to their greediness to have money they tend to fool other people for their own convenience and is not working fair. We know its hard to earn here in crypto and you have to exert an effort to gain decent amount but why those people are taking advantage this opportunity?

I was victimized in the past thus its a lesson learned not to trust easily and its a must to conduct a research first before entering in any kind of investment. If we can only get rid those bad people then we can have a better community here. Nevertheless I think its a human nature for some to commit such acts for being greedy.

I have a lots of encounter to these kind of people. When they have the tokens and now started to hit exchange it is legit but if not given bounty payment and the token is listed its a scam project. Many kinds of toxic people in crypto exists especially those pretending to be admin and will contact you and they will said they can process youre order on ICO since the system is blown off. Oh my God this is auto block and report spam on me on my telegram.

I think its time to clean those funky people here and every social sites.

Oh man, so whenever EXP was brand new we had a slack. Well some guy in our slack scammed others for like 30 BTC+. Ugh it was terrible.

I think the people who over exxegerate everything. Like bitcoin going from 3800 dollars to 4000 dollars ? All of a sudden its "IS BITCOIN GOING TO 100 THOUSAND DOLLARS" , man calm down it just went up 200 bucks, that happens all the time or the same when its going down like from 4000 to 3800 and you check the posts here and they are all like "IS BITCOIN DYING FINALLY" or something.

Those people really annoy me the most, just because there is a %5-10 change doesn't really mean bitcoin is either going to skyrocket or going to shit, none of that will happen, it is just a daily move and it happens and just move on with it. Same people do that to companies too, a company giving a decent reward? "BEST BUSINESS IN THE WHOLE WORLD", they are late to reply to your support for couple of hours? "THIS IS A SCAMMER COMPANY", like we get it you are impatient but try to calm down a bit.

Yeah, I feel this part of your story. These are people who don't have control over their emotion. They act immature and can't move on.

They devote all their time to stalk the hell out from someone, such action really gets one annoyed.

I thought deeply about what a person lives for. That's really to earn a lot of money?Apparently it is.Such people were created by the era of capitalism.Alas they are becoming more. When a person does something just like that, without having any benefit from it,most of them call him a fool or an anti-social phenomenon. The world has already begun tectonic destruction, which is invisible to MOST.Man is by nature a researcher,a creator.Let's not destroy but build a new society with the help of cryptocurrencies.I am sure with the help of new technologies it is quite possible.

Short term investors are really bad for the crypto currencies especially for the new crypto projects because they dump they coins for the profits in very short time which make thet coin price to be very declined, most of the projects will never recover from this situation even if they are good.

I think the most toxic people are they spread false news or keep saying crypto will die, and that can weaken trust so that someone becomes easily carried away by panic.

Hahaha, I laughed so hard when I saw this, we have a lot of this type of people not just in the crypto space but in the world at large, I believe that everybody has this kind of tendency in them, once you can't benefit from something that others benefited from it automatically turns out to be a scam to you, this mentality is something we have to kill in the crypto space and gave everything a chance to manifest itself in the ecosystem.

Yea for sure. I think the internet amplifies it too. Especially social media. Social media is a combination of visibility and safety. So people can be toxic to others because they know they wont get punched in the mouth for it. But also people start developing one sided relationships with others they follow and that creates unhealthy experiences for them.
