sadly no price alert available.. but this will be available (plus other features..) in our phone app, which will be released probably tomorrow...

No I don't look for prices in COINMARKETCAP where the trading volumes are %95 fake.

Instead I use openmarketcap.com (https://openmarketcap.com/) which only takes their data from more reliable exchanges with less fake volume (at least we think so). Is OMC perfect? No. But it is far better and provides far more reliable data than CMC does.

As long as CMC don't fix their shit, I will always talk against their crap.

I only like coinmarketcap because of the comprehensive information i can get about each coin. I will like to suggest some improvements especially you can add them in android app first is please show live prices and not 30 minute delayed prices secondly also add a candlestick chart like tradingview that can help traders take position easily from viewing candles.

Please consider IOS also in this new application of COINMARKETCAP. Its really nice to see that the number one monitoring of coins and tokens in the cryptoworld are now improving. I will definitely use this and observe on it. I will try to subscribe on your channel also. Goodluck to coinmarketcap team.

Yes,.. i am pretty sure you NEVER used and use coinmarketcap.. you can try this openmarketcap, coingecko.. but they will ever be shadow of coinmarketcap.

By the way, did you took  3 seconds to look at this? You can select reported or adjusted volume.

CMC isn't responsible for the misbehaviour of the exchanges, the adjusted volumes have been added for increased transparency and when there's an outlier, especially when it makes a potentially market moving mistake, it'll be excluded.

i will try to explain you.. thre are 2170 coins listed right now.. almost all of them want to do changes.. and we must check on a ONE TO ONE BASIS.. why? if we just update with the data provided bycoin X.. that claims its circulating supply is double (which could be fake)  as shown.. then X's marketcap would be double than real one.. Same happens with exchanges (more than 200 hundred available).. We collect info via APIs, and all this must be also under supervision to avoid manipulation. Do you understand what is the problem? and this is only one example.. there are many things to take in mind, this is not something trivial. So once again, thanks for your patience ☺️

Anyway, in the worst scenario, CMC has a disclaimer regarding this. The information provided FREE is subject to mistake and shouldnt be considered the only one to have in mind before taking an investment decision. Users should follow a due dilligence. Anyway, we are doing our best to fix and improve our system daily. Nowadays you will find info with "adjusted volumes".. and we are working to make this more accurate and avoid fake info.. but all this is resource-consuming  (money, effort..) and needs time to be deployed.

On the other side, just complaining and blaming is very easy,... but you could try to be usefull and make a suggestion.

i also wanted to point out this possibility now. this adjusted volume should also correspond to the volume on the other sites.
so something that is closer to the truth than the inflated volume ;)

I made 2 suggestions already.

1) Ignore those fake volume exchanges (like Coinbene) and don't take and list their data.
2) Use some other marketcap website, like openmarketcap.com

What you suggested as a solution is also bullshit.

CMC lists those fake exchanges by default. And swtching from reported volume to adjusted volume pretty much does nothing.

Coinmarketcap is really popular among the majority of those who are interested in cryptocurrencies, although there are similar services that are equally convenient and to some extent even more informative.  But I am also concerned that the prices of coins, trading volumes and other data are indicated based on the data that coinmarketcap receives from those exchanges that show fake trading volumes.  I hope you fix it so that coinmarketcap shows people more accurate data than it is now.

With the issues of fake volume every where I'm sure the capital market will do something about it but in their own terms and ways of researching not through what they heard from people which I also believe they might hurt the right exchange site if they acted base on what the community. However, I don't like the part where you mention an exchange name.

I am indeed not polite against scams. In this case, that's what you are doing. Misleading people with fake information and refusing to fix it.


Maybe so. That was when there were no competitors. Now there are many. I liked CMC in the past when the stuff you provide was more real. It looks like a scam fest of Fake Chinese Exchanges now.

There isn't a single valid excuse for listing Coinbene (and Fcoin, BW, Coineal and crap like those...) in your website.

I understand the correction you want the CMC to do but there are ways to doing things rather than trying to force them with your statement or telling them what to do when they did seek your advice. However, I understand that CMC usually post the volume which exchange site provided to them and we actually don't know they gather the market information they posted but we both know things are easy to destroy but hard to build.
It will definitely take time but you using another price update site is not the solution because the other site out there still make use of the details provided by CMC.

I won't disagree with mindrusts opinion about CMC. There are flaw that needs to fixed but rather than talking blunty, suggestions are welcome because there is a CMC representative and could help.
Other than CMC, I can't find anything close that could provide the best information around crypto market

Well that is not a very big or difficult task to know for yourself, we are not after his membership but the product he is marketing, which he has given direct links to verify if they are genuine or not and if we are quite skeptical about clicking any of the provided links, we can just go directly to their website to get any information or ask any of their support team out to help die down the curiosity.

He has posted his proposal, and if it’s through after verifying from their website directly, what we should be after and focus more on right now is how to grant their request which is not too tasking.

maybe you should first start by fixing your website to not have the serious issues that it currently have and then start advertising it and also ask for "help".

mindrust already pointed out some of the issues. i would like to cover another one which is ranking coins just based on their market capitalization and then comparing them together and call that "dominance" which is the most wrong thing you can ever do. since for starters most of the altcoins you are ranking on top have a gigantic premine so their "circulating supply" which you use to calculate their market cap is mostly fake and that makes their market cap fake and that makes everything else including the total market cap and what you call "dominance" fake.

Those are minor issues compared to the issues which I stated.

They can use whatever metric they want as long as they use the right numbers. Is it manipulation? Maybe, but I wouldn't care as long as the numbers are right.

Like you said There are also premined and instamined coins. If I was the CEO of CMC for example, I wouldn't list ripple at all. We don't have any idea how they distributed their coins.

It is too much to ask at this point.

I only expect them to ban the more obvious scams like coinbene. There is no way, I mean no fucking way there are more trading going on on coinbene than what's happening on binance.

Delisting shitcoins would be asking too much at once. Hopefully it'll come to that too once shits like ripple start to show the signs of implode. BSV is already getting its fair share of delisting.

Thanks for your comments. There are so many different points of views and grains of sand in a dessert. And having a perfect solution that fits all and makes everybody happy is just an utopia. In Coinmarketcap we strive to provide the best we can, and obvious there are many issues (fakes volumes, wrong calculations of marketcap according to what you stated...). Therefore we put effort to achieve improvements, so all constructive feedback is wellcomed.   :)

Thanks for sharing we need a trusty official app from coin market cap to avoid other alternatives that can be laggy, I will setup it right now and test it :)

I agree with mindrust, avoid using Coinmarketcap at all costs as they have been shown to show fake volumes.  They are not to be trusted when there are much better options out there.  CMC is just another sketchy business doing anything for more visitors and ad revenue.

Interesting, is a good step ahead i think, i will start using it after i have time and i will see how works and if is good, anyway is the source where i check the prices of crypto coin most of time.

You FRIEND also got in his profile the link to the other site he is promoting, where he (and probably also you), got some economic interest.

No matter what anyone says. Coinmarketcap is of great importance for this market and I am constantly using it. The launch of this mobile application was also very nice. Now it will be easier for me to reach "the most reliable" data on cryptocurrencies world.

I also sometimes find oddities when I see the volume on Coinmarketcap, maybe the information they display is fake, but I have never hated the coinmarketcap further, if you don't believe, just leave Coinmarketcap without having to blaspheme it.

Nice one. It would be nice if you guys work on detecting exchange that uses bots to create fake volume. Most exchange ranking on coinmatketcap is characterised by exchange that uses bot to create fake volume so as to influence their ranking

tahnks for your comments.. In fatc if you look, you will find we have already 2 tabs.. normal volume and "adjusted volume". We are aware there is fake trading provided by third parties, but we just collect the data provided.. Anyway we are working on a way to achieve real trading from exchanges.

This would be a great app for me since I like to visit the site regularly to check on the crypto's that I like .
I am also using blockfolio to keep my crypto list and to see how much the price have change.

It seems like your employer found the right way ChiNgadOr. Either he realized that It was pointless to continue with the scam or CMC started to lose serious number of visitors. Either way, this is a step in the right direction.

Many things are improving in relation to statistics related to cryptos. Today we have many competitors, but the CMC still has to be the leader with a big advantage for second place. It is unbelievable that he accepted for so long to keep these false volumes of these exchanges. Especially the volume of these fraudulent Coins who could naively create a pump and dump using some specific exchanges.

Gave the new mobile version a quick try and it appears to be very useful indeed for tracking your investment portfolio and receiving price alerts and the new ETH dominance statistic is encouraging to see and helps build brand awareness for that platform but it is not yet displayed on your main web presence and is only visible in the app

Im using the mobile app and itd clearly a good app for monitoring the porfolio for current market price. Great job, I am so happy that you already have this and with great API and its very friendly user. I recommend this to all crypto traders who are monitorng their asset. I just want to suggest regarding recently added coin also must be included cause this feature is also good. Or it is available if we login or signup? Im just using free use of app.

 I can assure you that team is aware of the responsability undertaken.. We are a reference worldwide and we strive on providing the best service we can. We conduct due dilligence before listing, but conditions can change after this listing takes place. Monitoring thousands of coins and hundreds of exchanges, you can bet it is not an easy task.
Extraofficially as a perosnal opinion.. I really hate that scammers (coins and exchanges) and feel dissapointed when people take wrong decisions based on the info showed on CMC. Despite there is a clear disclaimer and sometimes we leave warning (take a look for example at BITEBTC exchange..), i feel bad for that situations when people loose money. Hope scammers get jailed for the rest of their lifes.
