Even though Dogecoin has been of great interest to a lot of cryptocurrency speculators, it seems the project also lends itself to “offspring projects”. DogeCash, for example, is based on the core principles of Dogecoin, but with a few twists. It will be interesting to see how it will fare compared to the real deal.

The DogeCash Concept Explained

On paper, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Dogecoin in its current form. Its community is as excited as ever, the memes are still flowing, and its value has recovered some lost momentum over the weekend. One downside is how Dogecoin hasn’t seen any major technical changes, nor will it undergo major developments for the foreseeable future. As such, DogeCash aims to offer some alternative features which can attract a lot of attention.

How Does it Work?

It is important to note DogeCash is not an airdropped token issued to Dogecoin holders automatically. Instead, it is a completely separate project, and it should be treated as such at all times. This new project uses a very different algorithm compared to Dogecoin. In this case, it uses the quark algorithm, combined with proof-of-stake capabilities and masternodes. Especially that latter approach is rather interesting first and foremost.

DogeCash aims to position itself as a transparent and community-governed cryptocurrency to provide an alternative way of getting involved with Dogecoin. The launch of masternodes – aptly named Dogenodes – will be an interesting take on things. No one can deny masternodes have gained a lot of attention in the altcoin world, and currencies offering this functionality often do well during the initial stages.

Additionally, DogeCash will try to address Dogecoin’s inflationary supply first and foremost. Considering how this altcoin has no fixed supply cap, it is only normal there would be some concerns over that specific aspect. Dogecash has a fixed supply of 21 million DOGEC. One thing worth noting is how there is a 5% premine in place, which will undoubtedly spark numerous debates moving forward. DogeCash also has no mining aspect, as all rewards are distributed to masternode owners and stakers.

The Roadmap Appears Promising

Any cryptocurrency is only as strong as its developer team and future roadmap. In the case of Dogecash, the main net launch is only the first change to come. Later this year, there will be a mobile wallet and at least two exchange listings. No further specifics regarding which exchanges are confirmed at this time. Throughout 2019, there will be more exchange listings, a one-click masternode setup process, and a Zerocoin implementation for additional privacy. Plenty of aspects to look forward to, assuming DogeCash is still relevant at that time.

It's been a while since we released a progress update. Here is what we've been up to during the last couple of weeks.

1) New masternode Dogenode script incoming!
10,000 lines of Multi-MN script from Mike Carper have been reviewed and adjusted to our project allowing us to deploy several masternode instances in a single VPS.

What the Masternode Script does:

You run it, it'll ask for your txhash, and then it'll setup the masternode ending with the line that you add to your desktop wallet's masternode.conf.
Works on Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04, or Newer.
Allows for multiple masternodes on one VPS.
Masternode doesn't run as the root user (more secure).
Daemon will auto update to the latest github release (less chaos around wallet updates).
Auto updating of ubuntu security packages (more secure VPS).
Masternode auto starts on reboot or crashes.
Block bad SSH login attempts.
Release in 2 weeks! Such beast much wowz!
and many more

2) @uchu  has made an amazing job on Signal Hub's UI. Backend is progressing very nicely as well and it is all finally coming together! We are getting ready to release the first previews and a list of features that will make this platform a winner in the market!

3) Hardware wallets support is coming very soon. Check out our Github for the new bitcore-prep branch. It shows everything we are up to and our main goals are integrating DogeCash into Trezor, Ledger and possibly Keevo hardware wallets.

4) We began the incorporation process to open up possibilities such as partnerships and listings into larger exchanges. It will also provide us with the legal framework to run the SignalHub platform as a business allowing us to take it as far as we want to.

5) We have just created a new DogeNode Status Updater for Telegram that will make sure to inform you whenever any of your nodes go offline or forks to a different chain. More info on this coming next week.

6) Check MN proposal tab at wallet! Now you could chose how should move Dogecash development and how spend budget for what and for how! Really decentralization in action!

7) The explorer has been significantly improved thanks to the efforts of @Akshanexus, various graphs and statistics have been added. Added tracking of funds on the market, tracking management system and much more. Look to evaluate the result. https://explorer.dogec.io/#/statistics

IF it has no relationship with Doge why not just give it your own unique branding instead of copying the Doge Brand.  Dogecoin is associated with a meme and its not considered a serious coin.  You aren't doing yourself any favors being associated with it.

Just looking to clarify, "Doge" isn't a brand but as you say, it is just a funny meme that became an internet sensation.

DogeCash™ was born at the time where Bitcoin Cash was being heavily trolled by the community for obvious reasons. We thought it would be hilarious to launch a parody of Dogecoin, named "DogeCash" but the difference would be that there would be a solid panel of professionals behind the project constantly developing its future and that's what we've done since day 1.

Why taking names so serious? Isn't the actual progress and achievements of the project what truly matters?

We don't mean to say we are in the same position as Elon Musk, but if someone that is such a public personality named one of its most important projects "The Boring Company" what stops us from using our beloved Shibe as a brand to represent the hard work of a creative and productive team? Nothing! Hence why we just hopped into this adventure and so far, it has been a wonderful experience.

So yeah, that's the reason behind the DogeCash™ brand. We're proud of its silly meaning and we hope you are now proud of it too :)

Hey Doges!

First of all, thank you for hanging with us through this market shift. It’s been difficult lately and especially after the fiasco with around 100,000 DOGEC being stolen from a well known masternode provider, following a dump on exchanges affecting our price, causing a panic sell.

Shortly after this event we discussed how we should proceed forward with DogeCash operations.

• Incorporating DogeCash as an international enterprise.
• Document preparation for the Howey test. (this will lead us to larger exchanges)
• Work with a marketing agency to execute an extensive campaign.
• Continue developing our platforms.

In order to make this happen we – as a community – need everyone involved.

DogeCash is facing funding issues.

We haven’t been able to sell anything from our pre-mine for a long time, and despite members being paid in DOGEC from the pre-mine to cover costs, most of these coins have remained in our wallets to avoid affecting the price negatively. In the end, this translates to an unsustainable work model needing to be fixed as soon as possible. Endless options have been discussed, but we can’t decide without consulting with the DogeCash community, getting feedback, and moving forward.

When the DogeCash launch was announced we ran a small, private pre-sale. The funds were mostly enough to cover the first steps in starting DogeCash (listings, servers, etc). Additionally, we made sure to have a large pre-mine to cover operation costs for years to come. Unforeseeable to us, the hardest bear market was incoming affecting every single currency out there. This goes without saying the core team and beta testers made sure to keep improving security, and pushing frequent updates. Ideally, DogeCash is also trying to set a standard practice among the masternode community.

For the majority of time, Bitcoins were the only funds the team could rely on and collectively, we were against trading with these funds given the unpredictability of the market – It could easily backfire. The team continued to work while seeing Bitcoin crash from over $8k to $3.5k in only a few months. Expenses never stopped, leading us to paying more Bitcoin to achieve the same goals.

Again, listings, masternode monitoring, hosting, freelancers, wallet user interface development, salaries, to name a few were slowly drying funds. Essentially, drastic changes need to be made to sustain. We’ve discussed some wild implementations, but we need to get focused, goal-wise, to accomplish a sustainable business model.

As a team, we’ve put countless hours of work into DogeCash and we’ll continue to do so with some changes onward.

The beauty of DogeCash is that we’re always a team and the leadership can be fluid, as it’s not necessarily meant to be a singular entity. Each team member has their strengths we utilize to maximize DogeCash’s overall potential. Nobody is leaving, but we all have lives and there things that need to take precedence.

DogeCash project leader from this point will be James instead of Luis, but we commend Luis for every, single thing he did to bring this awesome idea to life, and navigating us through hard times. Luis will still be contributing as everyone else.

Furthermore, upon securing more funding for the tasks mentioned above we’re going to implement better structures. Everything from monthly team conferences with the DogeCash community, weekly notes, to better outlined team tasks.

Welcome Doges to our 2nd installment of our weekly developmental updates. We have a few exciting items to talk about!

HD Wallet is being added to our core code base. This is a BIP39/44 addition for creating a mnemonic seedphrase over a traditional password for your wallet.dat! Visit our Github https://github.com/dogecash/dogecash to see this and our other progress.

In addition to HD Wallets, we have added xPubKey and xPrivKey commands as well. These keys are for all used and unused addresses your wallet will hold moving forward. The commands will get you the keys in your RPC Console.

The Team is also working on bringing a light version of BitNodes, but it will feature similar to BitcoinCash's fork of BitNodes. Alongside BitNodes, we are looking into BitCluster. Both of these tools will bring us more information on our network size, and different statistics. Showing us who is running what versions of wallets and how the network is spread across the globe. Bringing to us also more indepth block information to be able to go through your coins easier.

Last, but surely not least is we are going to talk about SignalHub, for those of you just tuning in SignalHub is our first of many platforms in the DogeCash ecosystem. It is a non-traditional Signal Trading platform. Traders can post/sell Signals for users to purchase/subscribe from their Traders they follow. We will be supporting select coins during the beta process, and expanding it daily throughout and until we go live. As well as support for many exchanges to bring a robust amount of choices for Signals listing and purchasing. Traders should have all they need in one place and the users will have the information they need from the good Traders! Akshaynexus is working extremely hard to bring us this first version for iOS. We would like to thank BreadWallet for the core and HODL for the UX. It is a simple wallet to start by supporting our new HD wallet BIP 39/44. This will make for much easier recovery of wallets on mobile devices.

Next round will be Android so stay tuned!

We would like to thank everyone who signed up during our SignalHub closed beta registration. In roughly 2 weeks we will be opening up the actual beta for SignalHub! Those that did sign up for the closed beta keep an eye out on your emails for your temporary login details for your special accounts. The team really needs all of you involved in the beta to ensure we bring the best product possible.

The next major wallet update will be coming out as well in the next 2 weeks. We’ve been working hard on some new stake protocol upgrades and bug fixes. With the help of PIVX and other developers we have made PoS much more secure and PIVX forks safer. The plan is to roll this out asap.

Lastly our web team is working hard in the background to upgrade and enhance our servers. Upon completion we can roll out those fancy tools I have blogged about previously. These upgrades are essential for the network to provide the DogeCash services and products.

We appreciate all the understanding while we work on this. It will provide us a strong foundation for our future. We plan on downtime for maintenance, but we will announce accordingly if need be.

Although the team is always looking for more talent, we are currently 7 strong.
We have 3 developers on team. They are akshaynexus, Liquid369 and uchu. Our backgrounds are wide ranging. While akshaynexus has contributed to much larger coins and is a mobile wallet specialist. Uchu actually has his own company in which he does front end development. Hes been working for years and is extremely skilled and works beautifuly with our designer Luisnucg, who conceptializes and draws everything for us and uchu implements. Liquid369 is the current Project lead, and has a diverse background for development to which enables us to cover the spread with his abilities. Working for years as well in software development and backend security.

We have other team members that are security, server and web focused.

I am not even surprised to know the fact that you are one of their alts.

Dogecoin Private is nothing compared to our project, Dogecoin Private explicitly states they are purely for fun and no means to make any products.
DogeCash we are actively developing and working on bringing what the community wants.

Why does the project have a similar name to Dogecoin but the system is completely different from them?

Dogecash is a play on words to mess with dogecoin like bitcoin and bitcoincash.
Since dogecoin is a bitcoin fork, we took ours a different direction going PoS/Masternodes for a more green friendly coin.
There was quite a few things we wanted to do differently than the way dogecoin did, so its not a hard fork like the bitcoin and bitcoincash. There is quite a few inherent differences and majority can be found on our website and our whitepaper.

For all those who no longer know exactly what SignalHub is, what it should be and what advantages it brings to DogeCash:

"As you may know we are already moving forward with our Trading Signals platform which will become the first tool that will fuel our economy and generate demand for our coin. What will we do with the DogeCash purchased from the market?


1.- We will do coin burns with a percentage of it.

2.- We will airdrop a percentage to Masternode holders. 


This way, holders will get the benefit of a platform generating constant demand for the coin while reducing supply constantly and Masternode owners will have the added benefit of receiving additional coins on a monthly basis.
There are many things to do in order to get this platform out including lots of legal paperwork. We need to constitute a legal company in order to integrate fiat payments into the platform. This isn't that bad of a project I mean there are coins that only have marketing and this coin has development which not ever coin has.

DOGEC is a sleeper coin. I know it will succeed. I have been invested in it since its release. I must admit I have been quiet about this coin because of greed. I have been
staking and collecting as many masternodes as I can. I'm speaking about it now because I have comfortable bags. Anyways the main reason that attracted me to this coin was the absolute transparent team. Can anyone mention the whois of any POS staking coin? Dogec tells us exactly who they are and has a very tight dedicated community. The coin is limited to a 21 million supply with a "case use" attached to platforms and projects. I look forward to this ride because I can easily see a valuation north of $5++

We're here for a quick update! Lately, we've been executing tasks and development in silence, but always check #dev-updates for activity - We're always up to something.

The team had prepped to do 4.1.0, but we figured lets get the new interface out and fix some of the bugs users have reported with segfaults/crashes. This will be a major update and it will have our new interface!

We at DogeCash would like to apologize since we haven’t been able to speak much lately, even in regard to Development. However, all systems are being monitored, maintained and everything is in perfect working order from our analysis. As one of us has been busy working and traveling around the world for the work I do, I have settled in a remote tropical island in Thailand, where my second home is. I have been coming here for more than 15 years and living in the jungle with some of my Thai friends. It may sound like paradise and most likely is, but there is still plenty of major problems the island faces, one of those is the stray animals. The Local Care Center for Animals was founded back in 2001 and before that there was absolutely no veterinarian support on the island. Since then this group has been working mostly 24/7 and taking care of every animal found on the streets, from dogs and cats to monitor lizards, monkeys and slow lorry. They are absolutely amazing, I have been helping them periodically throughout my visits to the island and they have helped me a great amount with my jungle dogs and cats ever since I came to the island.  The organization gets no government support, they exist solely off donations and the kindness of others. Recently, I asked them for some medicine to cure one local street dog, but I subsequently found out that the financial situation is quite dire. There is not enough medicament’s for the animals and barely any financial support at all.

Many of you may know of my dream for DogeCash network to turn into donations and animal care/support projects. We hope to help people too, but now I am focused on animals and will do my best to help them. James and I are working on a payment processor integration for the past few months and facing some issues that we should hopefully rectify shortly. For us to not lose any progress during these days of quiet development, I came up with this idea to make some real steps and provide support to those guys from Care For Animals.

Why did I choose this group as a donation candidate:

1- I have known them personally for more than 15 years.

2- They are working everyday and true volunteers, every person there is unpaid and whats given is for the animals.

3- I know the real situation on this island and see how their work impacts the whole ecosystem.

What is next and where we are going ?

We want to automate all required steps as much as possible. We want to make everything transparent and easy to be understand. The main goal is our infinite donation generator, which will be based on cold staking mints. We want to make this process easy - stake any amount of coins and all generated mints from your staking amount will go to donation events automatically. We already have plan and road map for this platform for a long time and right now the graphical presentation is being revised, since we want to move from MN ( which was our original plan ) to cold staking, this move simplify everything and significantly decrease development time. We have completed our tally and consolidation of donations. Overall we say this was an amazing success! We raised approximately 655$ USD. That translates to roughly 20,500 Baht after setting aside what was raised over our goal to be for next donation mission and some development of the platform for this. In the uncertain times of today the DogeCash team has decided to say, “fuck that.” We have decided we will not lay down, roll over and play dead. We are going to #DoGood and continue pushing our visions of DogeCash, and of cryptocurrency.

The team has completed our first campaign, to which enabled us to donate 18,000 Baht to Phangan Animal Care. 2,000 Baht was used to purchase food for the animals followed by cash deposit. This is the power of crypto, to easily crowdfund, to easily bring people together in the world - To simply do better things.

Saving hundreds of dogs, cats, lizards, pretty much all animals. The money is going to help buy medication and medical procedures for these animals. It’s amazing what we can do together!

The video was produced by one of the community members, @HighTimes, and flew all the way in to help us with this project. Daniel made arrangements to shuttle and hand deliver the food and cash. We'd love to share what has been happening at DogeCash in the background for the past weeks/months.

As you know, the primary purpose of the coin economics revision we had a few months ago was to define our path as a project and coin.
