Title: Responsible disclosure

Has anyone tried this on testnet yet?

EDIT: and while we're at it, you realize how you're going direct to disclosing this in public, right at a time when Avalon ASIC boxes are being shipped that can mine a block every 2 days on average? Frankly I think this is rather irresponsible of you. I did the whole responsible disclosure process and here you are putting essay agency (https://essays.agency/) in public for a problem that's potentially far more serious. The dev team could have easily snuck a fix into the upcoming 0.8 release.

Hi there,
Sorry for bumping the thread. I'm a beginner and learn the basics so far.
Could you please explain a bit more about responsible disclosure process? I'm curious how it works with testnet and whether I can complete my project (using old documents and analyzing files from 2014).

I think this (https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=140078) is the topic you intended to reply to, no need to create another one. nvm, see below

I split it: it was bumping an old thread with an off-topic tangent (the tangent started in that thread but no need to continue it). No need to reopen an old discussion to ask a new question.
