It's rumores ebay is gonna to start accepting crypto payments. Have u heard? I am glad that more e-commerce companies are starting to allow the use of cryptocurrency to pay. It can be assumed that Amazon and Ebay will develop their own cryptocurrency

If cryptocurrencies become an affordable means of payment for trading, then this will also be a good opportunity to combine earnings from the sale of goods with investments. After all, you can use coins for trading and increase your free profits.

The rumor has not yet been confirmed by the management of eBay so this is still a rumor but we are all hoping that this is true as this can be a big boost to bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency industry. We need more and more merchants big and small to work with bitcoin incorporating it as one of their many available ways to pay. I am also suggesting that merchants should formulate their own marketing strategies to entice consumers to get bitcoin and use it in eCommerce platforms. Now, we are excitedly wishing that together with eBay another big retailing platform will be coming onboard soon...I am talking about Amazon.

In my opinion it will not only have a positive effect on the cryptocurrency course, but also allow more people to start using crypto coins. Before that, many people had only heard of their existence, but had not seen a real use. But now the situation may change

Ebay indeed rejected the rumors, but that's a good thing in my opinion. We should be working towards marketplaces disrupting censorship enabling platforms such as Ebay.

It looks like Ebay advertised on Consensus just for the sake of generating easy and very cheap global exposure. Ebay potentially accepting crypto has been all over the news even locally, so if that was indeed their main incentive, then it worked out well. It's called smart marketing.

There is limited access it seems depending on the trader who have listed the products or services through eBay. There isn't any specific official statement have come out regarding the same. As large scale firms have begun to accept bitcoin, maybe we can expect this to happen in the future same as that of Starbucks which initially started then stopped the service and now once again got resumed.

Does it have any news about it? It's like Amazon adopting to Bitcoin as means of payment but until now, there is no realization of it. Though we hope that mass adoption on crypto will be materialized but it needs a thorough study on how to maintain that this volatile currency.

Views are skeptical about the eBay's crypto acceptance but if eBay starts accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment then it is going to make a huge change in the commercial market.

Might be Bitcoin's green effect  ;) but if eBay as an international commercial platform is thinking to accept crypto as a mode of payment then really it is an appreciable step and Bitcoin Bullrun will turn worth for the crypto world.

Ebay had last year 180 million customers, that's half of all the transactions in the blockchain.
I really doubt they had a plan to advertise via some rumors.

Besides, if they would really have wanted it, they would have taken their time to deny it, to let people take the bait and make accounts there searching for the BTC option.

I read an article that Ebay denied such news. It's actually a matter of time before they will start accepting cryptocurrency as a means of payment. If they fail to do in the near future, a new company may just take the lead and give bigger companies a big run for their money and stands.

There is no public announcement to it yet but in the near future I am pretty sure that they will also consider it and will start to use crypto currencies as one of their payment system.

Unlike Facebook that they already announce publicly that they are going to launch their own currency but I am hoping that Ebay and other big companies out there will start to use crypto currency. Even if they are going to create their own currency also, as it will surely favor the crypto community.

This service allows you to buy a certificate for purchases on ebay using cryptocurrency. However, this does not mean that ebay accepts digital money directly as payment. These are completely different things.

I see many of us say that is rumors. But if eBay and Amazon will accept crypto, then I think that will give a change on the transaction process, and it will help the crypto user to buy the product from those sites. That will also give eBay and Amazon to gain more customer to visit and buy in their site so they can make another profit from the crypto user. We know that cryptocurrency has to grow significantly from year by year, and it will give the merchant to adopt the payment system to their site. I am sure that they will take the benefits from the cryptocurrency.

It's pretty good to hear, but even though this really happened in the future, ebay and amazon won't use a decentralized system. Maybe they will adopt technologies like XRP that are more centralized and safer.

Since eBay has denied they will accept cryptocurrencies yet are advertising that they will at Consensus, my guess is they are still on the fence and unsure, but don't want to appear unfashionable or outdated, so are getting their name out there with sophisticated investors and financial leaders. My guess is eBay will wait until some other big name jumps first.

I think crypto would always be the best option when it comes to online payment but merchants doesn't really want to use it yet.

So i am still spectacle about this news, because there is another news which makes this weird, eBay did not announce that they will be accepting bitcoin in it self which is yet to be conformed, on the other hand there are rumors about Paypal developing its own crypto, which leads me to believe that they are working on a crypto just like Facebook, that it will be used on their platform on ebay, it might seem like its good news but if this coin which they are creating to be used on ebay means that it is going to be centrelized, but as always these are just rumors and things yet to be announced.

Yes ebay is a good place to shop and a good place to expose cryptocurrency. I hope this is not a rumor, because this kind of adoption with bitcoin is important. If all the online shopping accepts cryptocurrency, we will have a better world, though alibaba have their own way to transact online i also hope this huge market will also see interest in cryptomarket.

And because of eBay's buyer/seller protection program, cryptocurrencies don't sit well with their business model because reversals aren't possible which has to mean this remains a speculation!

I am sure that eBay can modify their platform and specifications in order to welcome bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to their marketplace that is if they want. As to reversal, maybe eBay can inform buyers that using cryptocurrency means no reversal. However, am sure many buyers will not welcome this idea because just like PayPal buyers must be protected with sellers not acting accordingly or maybe eBay can just select reliable sellers for this option and not make it available to all. Anyway, as long as there is that desire and the will solutions can always be found. 

I guess that's good news for all of us who patronized crypto for so long time. This will have huge impact to demand of bitcoin along with other cryptocurrency, due to its usefulness in terms of adoption. Many people will be encouraged using bitcoin as their mode of payment transactions, because it provides a secure payment and fast processing. You'll be in a hassle free system compared to a traditional ways of payment, specially these days that most countries were more fanatic of online shopping.

Not so fast, they have indeed denied the rumor already, although there are some teasers a few days ago that's why all of the sudden the crypto world was so ecstatic. But it is what it is, maybe Ebay doesn't want at this stage to accept it, but there are still hope that they will be in the future to bring crypto much closer to the adoption that we all have been clamouring for.

Some of the merchants in Alibaba had been accepting crypto for years now. But Ebay is much different from that but they could let the users opt out for their own choice of payment at their own risk.
There have been new crypto based marketplaces and these markets would surely put some pressure on Ebay to try something new.

I don't think the ebay rumor of accepting cryptocurrency is real because I saw a new recently that it is not true. Although it would have been a great move if the rumor was true because ebay is one of the largest e-commerce platform globally and the acceptance of bitcoin on the platform would bring in move user to the blockchain ecosystem. Amazon on the other hand have had some partnership program with seveal top notch cryptocurrency project and I think a big news is around the corner.

Are you sure about that? I looked up Alibaba's payment methods and Bitcoin isn't listed as option, and as far as I know individual merchants don't have the ability to use other payment options.

I have seen none that actually pressure eBay in whatever form or shape. OpenBazaar looks like an eBay killer on paper, but its use hasn't been picking up, which has been like this for years now.

If something doesn't take off in its first few years of existence, chances are that it never might, especially with how there is zero marketing to attract new users. No marketing means no users, it's that simple.

We have more than enough cryptocurrencies, so it is unnecessary for eBay to create its own. It's high time they accept bitcoin and other top cryptocurrencies, but perhaps they are weighing the near-term costs and thus far don't find it worthwhile. But we all know at some point they will have no choice but to accept them, because competitors certainly will.

I don't think they have even trying to make it right now. all they said is they are thinking about it. It is surely possible that they are going to implement it sooner then you think but it comes with a lot of risks. it's like they do not know if it is gonna work or not. so they have to rely on luck and big companies do not do that. they believe on past analysis than some luck bullshit. They have to be sure that it is gonna be profitable to them.

Maybe this is what caused the sudden rise up in price when there was news of ebay soon accepting cryptocurrency as payment and the advertisements which caused some confusion during the concensus event during this same time.

I dont believe that news like this will cause ups or downs because if the company will decide to accept a certain crypto they wont buy that crypto , people or shoppers wont also rush to buy that crypto just because they want to use it as a shopping/paying tool   . The flow of the crypto market will still be the same as what they'v used to . Investors/traders will only buy crypto according to their needs  but overall  this news was still great , its nice to see that a reputable and big company like ebay is now joining the trend  .

eBay has said that it will not accept cryptocurrencies at the moment, the news spread like a rumor but it has already been denied. Hopefully in the future they can really accept bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, it would be a very positive news for the adoption

Right. The origin of the rumors were goods and services related to crypto currency being offered on the platform. And as they said, there isn't any plans to adopt crypto currency for now neither for the future. Probably it was just more one fake news to attract traffic for news sites to generate profit from ads.

I don't know how true the story is but I think is a good development for cryptocurrency as a whole and that will be good as well to contribute to mass adoption of the crypto especially now that we are seeing a surge in BTC .

I think that this isnt the right moment for ebay to accept crypto same what happened to steam before where they support bitcoin but it didnt go well and bitcoin was replaced by litecoin  .

Maybe it is. But if ever they will, then it's good I think. Because slowly, cryptocurrency are being accepted especially with the help of some well-known companies. On the other hand, I think it's too early for them to create their own cryptocurrency, though. Besides, there are many others already circulating in the market. Anyway, ebay knows what they're doing so let's leave it up to them.

But then the company has to still go after trading which is I believe a big part of the profit you were saying. Plus the fees you have to pay in order to send that payment is somewhat not very appealing unlike fiats which you can pay without those fees.

Well for businesses saying that they won't in the future only means that if things continues like this it won't happen in the future. But if the situation changes then they will for sure change their mindset and decision-making. The board only cares about making money almost 100% of the time anyways.

I think one reason why Ebay is still hesitant to this idea is the stability of the prices of digital coins. How could Ebay set an amount if the mode of payment itself is very volatile in nature.

There are already some merchants that are accepting crypto payments. Soon Ecommerce will fully accept cryptocurrencies for faster transfer with less fees unlike using paypal and other credit cards processors.

Well i do read news about it, but i dont think it will be neccessary for ebay or amazon to develop their own coin for puchases. I do think its good news for crypto space and i assume many big retailer are started to think that crypto has sort of a potential to become a currency.

maybe, but it's still too fast for that. developing their own crypto might be good, but we don't need it yet. maybe for the start it's better to use existing crypto coins like bitcoin, ethereum or even stable coins like tether.

There is rumor.But not sure about that.President Trump aim of "Make America Great Again" bond with stronger american droller. So I think traders like to keep their funds in american dollars. There were a lot of such assumptions that amazon is going to accept cryptocurrency payment modes with coins payment as their payment gateway but no further progress is been seen. There might be such rumors just to manipulate the demand and mold the price according to our need. Ebay is a global marketplace for new as well as used goods with thousands of active users. If ebay starts accepting bitcoins or any other cryptos then it would be possible for us to get almost any commodity with the help of bitcoins and a global marketplace would be started which would accelerate the growth for the bitcoins as well as all other altcoins.

Not much progress is been seen in this terms. There are always a lot of rumors who even sometimes are game changers but now as the community is getting developed, any of such rumor is not treated a source of information until and unless it is been outsourced with a reputable new source. Come on guys, this rumor has been around for a number of years, and I'm shocked because until now it still only become a rumor. please someone who has been shopping with bitcoin on ebay, say something? I heard also rumors about Amazon accepting bitcoin a few years ago, can I spend bitcoin on there now? because I miss the news today, because I rarely shop using Bitcoin in online

I guess that’s a logical decision to make as crypto is being spread more and more. They look at a long run and honestly, I think it sets a great example for us.

If you are talking about rumor then you will hear many things including amazon and e bay planning to accept bitcoin and other coins and you might even hear them planning to start their own virtual currency, if you start chasing those then you will only get time for that and nothing else, amazon and Ebay can create their own virtual currency if they really wanted to, let us stick to bitcoin and not all the shit coins.

There's a big possibility, companies are dreaming of printing their own money for massive profit, and cryptocurrency is the best place to do that, if a small company or individual can print their own money with nothing to offer at all why not these big companies.
