But the coin will be tied to basket of currencies in order to prevent volatility.

Can we say mass adoption for cryptocurrency?

One of the requirements to mass adoption is the stability of the coin's value, meaning volatility is one thing that hinders it. With as facebook says, "stablecoin", something has to be done to make it stable. Let's wait and see what are their plans.

Definitely if globalcoin by facebook goes live, it's a win win for crypto. We will see a boom in overall market cap and this will also drive towards more and more adoption. Let's hope for the best. I believe globalcoin will be a stable coin to prevent the volatile market from affecting its price grossly.

Just for one thing i dont like stablecoin, its really hard for me to make an analysis how we can profit from trading on it, its just a stable value, used only for payments.,well for me, if this is really true then i would assume that more and more users will engage in crypto as long as the stable coin of facebook will materialize in the future, this means it will also affect the performance of the whole crypto industry.

they already have big names in our society, just how they will implement the strategy to maintain the stability and sustainability of the coins they will launch. we can do adoption after we see what they are going to do, for now we can only wait.

Such a great news to start a day. It will definitely pump up the market to be better with Facebook join crypto. I think crypto is slowly but sure will be dominate and more popular in the world.

I just don't know if this could be a good thing for crypto since Facebook will try to mask the volatility of crypto by tying it to a stable coin which is not really a property of crypto.

It is hard to tell if a platform like Facebook can progress after all of the data farming and privacy issues that have been publicized this past year.

They can potentially be using it as a gimmick to draw in a new crowd and try to keep those who are leaving. Also they are preaching about using blockchain technology, but all they are doing at this point is adding  a few features and a token to their existing centralized platform.

They are not taking steps to secure their data or the privacy of their users.

The true intentions of Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook organization will be discovered with time.

I heard the rumor and I hope it would be true. Most of the people around the world have facebook so meaning to say adaption will be all over the world and for sure this is going to be huge. Probably with facebook's innovation they create their own exchange and with their users it can be the next binance or even bigger than them.

I believe that if Facebook is involved, other top exchanges will compete fiercely for rank . I think this is the biggest investment social network and it will give us a huge community and top investors will know more crypto. Actually I am waiting for that day and will start to learn to be able to make a profit at the world's leading company. Maybe now is not a good time but I advise people to pay more attention because Facebook is very serious about this project.

interesting, yes we can see so many other platforms take a step and follow Facebook, but the question is will they ban other cryptocurrency promotion in the Facebook.         

After months of speculation it’s finally confirmed that Facebook is launching it’s own stablecoin a crypto, isn’t it ironic a while ago they banned crypto ads and now they’re launching one. This stablecoin is fiat wrapped in a new wrapper, and I see no value in this stablecoin hence I’m not going to purchase it. The answer for mass adoption could be a yes cause it’s launched by Facebook people will buy it, but then again it could be a no too once people realise it’s a gimmick and not worth their money.

We will anticipate more big players to comes up with this idea, Facebook will open the doors to more well established businesses to also consider this crypto currency, by making their own version of token  for sure the marketing team will make a good use of it to be promoted from each sides of the site, making it more popular and gather more interest from different types of people all over the world.

Finally, Facebook has given more information and this is good news for all of us cryptocurrency fans. Regarding mass adoption for cryptocurrency, I think the possibility will be wide open. yes, I think it's familiar with Facebook that they already have big users in the real world and if Facebook is released faster later this month, I think Facebook will be easier to attract users in the crypto industry. let's wait for whatpapper to be released at the end of this month

Volatility is attractive if you want to trade the coin. If you want to load your facebook account with money to buy goods in eg. games you definitly dont want any volatility. Imagine you load your amazon account with 100$ to buy some goods and at the checkout you only have 90$ anymore cause your currency crashed.

Finally. Again another stable coin. This news is huge for crypto space. Anyone who never used crypto will start to use it because of FB coin. People who were afraid of crypto as well will buy it.

I won't said its a mass adoption, it will create more coins for investors to diversify, it could make the btc and other coins transaction volume to decrease, the good thing is the crypto publicity will increase, but I don't like the idea of big companies create their own coin, it could lead to weaken other coins

Maybe Facebook will lead the trend of giant tech companies on crypto and somehow make crypto more popular to people. But the tech giant's involvement will definitely violate crypto's decentralization. Anyway, this is good news to cryptocurrency in general and let's wait to see how facebook deal with its coin.

we can say: mass adoption of facebook currency ... and a direct attack to BTC and crypto space ... think about it... this altcoin will instantly have multiple x more users than the whole crypto space...

I don't know whether this can be mass adoption or not? but what I want to know is whether Facebook coins will become stable coins or become the highest altcoin like BNB that continues to increase and will Facebook be like that?

A stable coin would be perfect for facebook. As you can see the number of people using their platform it will be perfect for their marketplace and other services because of they will have another altcoin for sure it will be expensive and might lose its supporters. However it would be a jackpot for early adapters.

If in the plan the coin will be tied with several currencies (stable coins) and with the aim of avoiding volatility, there may not be many interested parties. Actually I am interested and have had an interest in investing $ 700 in this Facebook project and will wait for its launch. But it seems like my enthusiasm is decreasing right now.

I fully agree, it would be better to have one stable coin, which all used. So to say a standardized stable cryptocurrency.

New facebook coin can be a life saver for paying the advertisements in social media for Facebook and Instagram. It is not threat for BTC and it will not be able to replace the top coins. Global coin can not be centralised at least. June will be a interesting month.

Wow, it's so cool that facebook is coming onboard to the Crypto space, though what I can see here is a link to a blog and not the official statement from facebook themselves, or is the link to the official post included in the blog post, well I am just so happy that this is happening at this kind of time when so many believe that Crypto is gone already and have given up on it.

I hope they would make something decent because we really really need it. I don't like facebook as much as the next guy but they are huge corporation who controls the biggest social media websites, they have facebook and instagram and aside from twitter those are the two biggest, they control whatsapp which is the biggest texting app I know (maybe except some chinese version) and that is why they have a huge power over the world and can influence people and can have a say in what crypto

So, if they do a decent one and the coin gets famous then they could literally make crypto currency world a lot bigger than it is right now but if they do a horrible one just for testing then it would be like a joke for us.

If Facebook will allow users send crypto throught messenger , whatapp then other big companies will follow that and then interesting things will happen :) Hopefully they will allow BTC / ETH sending throught messenger / whatapp :) And guess what , new scams attempts will come out lol

It's great to see facebook is serious with cryptocurrency. With a huge number of users, Facebook will freely advertise for cryptocurrency and spread it to people. SEC recently called out Facebook to ask about its coin. Hopefully Facebook coin will be a nice legal one.

Waw, I am very happy to hear this news. I really appreciate Facebook's steps to compete in issuing crypto currency coins. I can't wait to wait for the coins issued by Facebook and this coin is on the market. I believe the enthusiasm of the community to welcome this coin is very big. IT doesn't look like this will even be a real cryptocurrency like bitcoin.  It will just be a centralized system of sending information without a real blockahin that has censorship resistance.  It will be completely controlled by Zuckerberg and Facebook, I'm staying the hell away from this.

Well, that is good news at first, because it will really create so much awareness for the cryptocurrency industry, which is how it will create the mass adoption. For Facebook coin itself, it is more or less a stable coin like you said, and right now, not many people see the need to have or hold a stable coin, so they might get a few general investors for their coin, but where I can really guarantee the adoption to come from is through their business platform, most of their business people will see the need to use it for promotional purposes, many will hold it to make payment for most of the adverts they do place on Facebook.

Of course they will go far, don’t forget that there database is not only full of Americans, and I can see that it is  America that discovered this data farming of a thing from them and has issue with it, which many of their citizens is also concerned about, but because their database is filled with people from different parts of the world, and there is chance that 50 percent of their users, has never even heard or know about this data farming.

So that will not even be a single barrier for them to become successful in their project, provided their coin is tied to a product that people will see as useful and have need for.

This is official now, facebook coins will be around towards the end of the year and this is not bad. They think it is going to give a hard time to Bitcoin but I doubt that. Bitcoin is the leader in crypto space but Facebook coin might make the transaction thing easier. But let’s see how it would go because there could be stuff about regulation and decentralization.

Probable but I can see more competition is waiting ahead for these stable coin focused company. Binance will also launch their stable coin but it won't go along with USD back up but it's with pounds. I can't wait to see the reaction of the people especially those who have not been riding the crypto market since then. I want to see on how would they react about facebook's creation of a stable coin and what those skeptics would say then about this major announcement.

This news is giving me goosebumps! Because crypto is getting accepted by all over the world. Day by day people is involving in crypto. Even the best social network Facebook is joining in the crypto industry with their own coin. I heard about the VK coin too! So, this is mass adoption! Our waiting will be over very soon, people will use cryptocurrency in open and everywhere.

I am very certain it will be stable coin too and I am not so sure it will be suitable for investment since there won’t be so much volatility in it, so investment in this reject will really not yield so much profit. I will rather put that $700 in other coins that are suitable for investment, or use it to be trading Bitcoin instead, except maybe you are one of the people that use their platform for business, and then you can convert your fiat to their coin, and probably still get very little increase.

I am sure the full details of the project will be revealed officially soon, because I still count all these as rumor despite all the links shown, but none of them has really been linked to the official page.

In that case, I  don't think it's good to invest in their stable coin it because you can't make a profit in it. lol. What is good about it is the mass adaptation, when people start using the stable coin of facebook, it will give them knowledge of what is a cryptocurrency and how blockchain works. That will give them an interest in investing cryptocurrency.

So Facebook is a really good help to promote the crypto industry to its millions of users. I'm very excited about the launch of it because mass adoption is equaled to the bullish market.

have been hearing and reading quite lots of news about the Facebook cryptocurrency coin and yet to see an official website or blog from Facebook hence, I find it difficult to follow up this news about it

Yes the process to mass adopt cryptocurrency has already begun, and the truth is that cryptocurrency will stay here with us forever. It does not matter whether Facebook will issue its own digital currency or not. But Facebook's initiatives to join cryptocurrency will obviously promote cryptocurrency. We can be confirmed only after Facebook brings out its whitepaper in this regard.

There is no official statement but the article says the word is from Laura McCracken, Facebook’s head of financial services. If not of course official but still can be considered substantial statement. 


The quote is from the article which probably mean this coin isn't gong to be any exchange but on their own exchange too?  I sort of look at it that way.

Yes, stable coins are now the hot trend to the market. After facebook rumors confirmation comes out, binance has also announced that they'll be turning to this market. No doubt that they have been one of the market mover and leader for the moment. This gains more attraction to their exchange with all of those progress that they do.

I think Facebook wants to try to make a stable coin because Facebook only wants to try to make it easy for users to transact without having to suffer losses because of price movements that might fall, but if Facebook is like that then the benefits of trading using coins from Facebook will it's difficult to make a profit.

Maybe some News site published this news about the Facebook entering of the cryptocurrency market and the evolve of their own coin but still there are no proofe from the facebook official authority.

It seems that Facebook is developing globalcoin not for the benefit of traders or investors, they are developing their coins for the benefit of Facebook and its users, especially Facebook itself is the biggest social media and has a business system such as Facebook, they want to improve their payment system into a more effective and efficient system therefore they developed stable coins.

For me, Facebook created their own coin just to satisy their users and provide them more easy transactions when it comes to payment system. This is something beyond my expectation! Facebook coin means a huge mass adoption for the crypto market. Millions of people using facebook social platform and it is the largest social network! Yes we can say Mass adoption if it's acquisitions is made available on Facebook platform not only on exchange. Facebook can work on creating more utility for the token I will wait to read their whitepaper to understand their utility derivation.

If allowed by the local jurisdiction and if regulated or adopted by the countries where crypto is still banned, Facebook might be the mainstream for the transaction of money from one part of the world to another because of the huge usage and user base of the company. It's going to be a utility token to the best of my understanding except they develop or deposit money in the bank or have some gold reserves to back it up.

I could not mention any effect yet, because the current price increase has nothing to do with the LIBRA coin announcement.  As soon as they begin to implement their solutions, there would be some changes but not now.
