First of all it is not first deflationary coin, just see BOMB, and yesterday I saw another project announced here. Second, how it is mineable while it is an erc20 token? Third, your site does not respond. Overall announcement seems to be quite inaccurate.

What is bomb? So you don't have a lot of experience with cryptocurrencies it seems. Maybe you should invest some time researching all this stuff before making any investment decisions.

This seems like a really interesting project. Mining and deflation combination is something that has never been done before. BSOV is going to be one of these tokens that's going to increase it's value rapidly.

To people saying that this is another clone. Please tell me what $Bomb clone is mineable?

I have already participated in various airdrops of deflationary tokens and I can say that this project seems to be really unique. Let's see how far this experiment will lead us.

Ok, so I gave it a go.  Setting up the mining script was pretty easy and gave me some positive results on a decent gaming build.  Was fun to actually have to do something other than just buy tokens, a great little project.  Became slightly addicted to refreshing etherscan waiting to see if I won the transaction!

BTCSoV is something I'm thankful for, because I never experienced mining anything. I always got into a project too late for my computer specs to be able to do anything, but for a short period of time, I was able to mine some of this stuff. Was a fun experience and am thankful for it.

This is seriously an interesting token. I first found out about 0xBitcoin back in Feb. 2018, but this coin seems to add a certain twist which could make it extremely valuable due to the burn function in the contract. Even though 0xBitcoin set the standard for mineable tokens for being the first one, BitcoinSoV can seriously compete toe to toe as a decentralized value transfer on the Ethereum network.

ERC918 Mining Pool - BitcoinSoV

We will be launching one of our first public projects this week, a mining pool for BitcoinSoV -- A deflationary and mineable Ethereum token!

HashTables was originally interested in the new wave of deflationary tokens when we came across BitcoinSoV which seemed a little different from the rest. After auditing the contract and looking into the concept, we realized that the goals of the project aligned with ours (Decentralized, Fair Distribution, Good Community).

After being a part of the growing BSOV community, we decided to give a hand with the setup and operation of a mining pool. The pool has been tested over the last few days with increased pool & community fees, allowing us to fund the gas for the pool while allowing people with hashing power but no gas to get a share of BitcoinSoV. Funds raised from the public beta are to be used for funding of the pool as well as funding of the community wallet, which is to be used for promotion at our discretion (usually based on community vote).


We are officially launching the HashTables BSOV Mining Pool on Saturday July 13 @ 00:00 UTC (Friday 8PM ET)!

1,000 BSOV will be donated to the miner who finds the first confirmed block after the official start. (According to Etherscan)

(You are welcome to join the pool earlier, but we will be sending transactions at 1gwei and will have [high] variable fees to incentivize solo mining while still possible.)

Thanks! The pool beta has been an overwhelming hit and we may be forced to make it de-facto production at this point just to keep things kosher. Can't wait. As a newb in the mining/crypto space, the community largely helped me establish an instance to mine and contribute to the pool. This coin not only is a solid project, but the people behind it seem to have a lot of integrity and they are always willing to lend a helping hand to someone or even just take on suggestions or concerns and address them outright. I believe that this project has a low ceiling and high floor and it is moving along at a very healthy pace for being a fairly new coin. Also, CZ even speaking the letters "BSOV" during that live stream last night was EPIC!

I don't have the best hardware or a lot of crypto knowledge but I am excited to participate in this project.  I have gotten the feeling so far that even the little guy (like myself) is a valued member of this community.  Eagerly awaiting the launch of the new pool!

So here is a tutorial for those wanting to use the $300 google cloud credit to mine in the mining pool. You can also use an instance you are paying for or your own GPU to mine in the pool as well.

First, you would need to log into google cloud with a valid gmail account and sign up (with your credit card info) to be given access to the $300 dollar credit. You will have to first upgrade your account when creating your first instance, and you must create an instance first (do not run it) before you are able to request a quota increase.  Under the Quota link located in the sidebar under IAM, you can request a quota increase by selecting GPU (all regions) on the third drop down bar on the screen and you must edit the selection and enter your phone number to send your quota increase request.

Once you have completed this and received a response from google which indicates you have been given approval (keep in mind, the time-frame to be approved can take up to 2 business days, unless you reply to google supports initial email and request an urgent review of the request. Be careful with your urgent request reason, as too many of the same requests may get you an others banned!), you can create an instance with google. I use Windows 2019 server which equates to $1.82/hr, with an Nvidia Tesla v100 GPU. Keep in mind you must select the GPU under a drop-down hyperlink and specify the model and series (it is what I listed in the previous sentence). After you have set the specs of the instance you can launch it.

One the instance is launched, you will need to download the following from these links listed:

Once you have downloaded the driver, installed it, and the 2 bug fixes are downloaded and installed, extract the files from the cosmic miner, then go into the extracted files, click the application file and hit "RUN As SADMINISTRATOR". (In my experience the application will not launch unless you run as admin). Once you have launched Cosmic, you must hit the options button on the top of the screen and select General setup and enter in your ethereum wallet address to be reimbursed from the miner. You must also enter the mining pool url, which is https://bsov-pool.hashtables.net:8443

Once all the downloads have taken place, and the information is filled out appropriately you should be able to mine without issue by clicking START MINING in the bottom right hand corner.

KEEP IN MIND that all downloads and installations must be completed inside the google instance you have fired up. Once this has been launched and you see the miner interacting with the mining pool, you can search for your mining address in the pool @ this link - https://bsov-pool.hashtables.net/account

I would highly recommend joining the community Telegram, as there are 220+ members, many are active and eager to assist in getting new members into the pool and contributing in whatever way we can.

generally I think it looks kind of strange, all these people who are trying something to change there, one person tells that he is trying to solve some problems, but I would like to say that having returned from heaven to earth, I don't see the point for myself, I hope I am wrong

so after not attempting mining in a solid 5 years, i tried to get this going on my home system.  It was not too bad at all to set up.  I had a little trial and error with drivers and figuring out the best settings for my gpu/cpu, but all in all i got it started churning out hashes in like 15 minutes the first go around!

Since then i started renting time on a cloud VM provider and have been having some fun hashing big numbers for a pool that started up a few days ago.

I’ve posted about this project before and my experience with mining it.  I will say that setting up mining isn’t as easy as installing a game and it does take a little trial and error and grit.  But with the tools and resources available from the OP and others you can feel confident that it is possible without previous mining expertise.  I recommend watching the YouTube video and joining us on the telegram channel if you have anymore questions.  I’ve received a lot of assistance from the other members who were patient and kind in answering my novice questions.  There are dedicated and knowledgeable people around at all hours.  I believe there is a space for everyone in this project and I look forward to continuing watching it grow day by day.  Join us and become an early adopter!

What makes me confused is the name BitcoinSov but based on the ethereum network, has it been thought through? are there no other options?

The name Bitcoin is probably due to the 21,000,000 mineable tokens. A Bitcoin implementation on Ethereum with a deflationary burn that provides a Store of Value.

I do tend to agree with you though, seeing the name Bitcoin automatically makes me question the legitimacy of any new coin. After digging into it I come to accept the name and understand the purpose of it, but I guess it wouldn't be my first choice either. I do love the project and community though, obviously.

Most people are calling it BSoV though, so it feels a bit better doing down.

Haven't bothered to look if i'm a newbie, guess i'll check.  what i will say is i don't spend much time on an antiquated message board, yet somehow manage to have mined a number of projects, and bought/sold an even greater number of coins and tokens.

You may or may not be an exception, but most of these newbies are just bumping the thread for sure.

BitcoinSov (BSoV) is the most interesting deflationary crypto project I have seen since Bomb Token.
Mix the inflation and pow-mining of Bitcoin with the deflation of Bomb Token, and you will have BSoV! I tried mining a bit now, and the difficulty is low, so it's easy to grab up some ;)

I agree about the mining. It's an uphill battle, but people keep spending money on mining which gives the token its value. This project is going to last years, it may be a slow start, but it's still very early!

Indeed, it is very early! At the time of writing, the page https://bsov.info/ shows that there are only 416 addresses that contain BSoV tokens.
It also looks like the only mining pool has only about 20 active miners, plus about 40 inactive ones (their hashrate shows as 0).
The total hashrate about 1 month ago was about 6GH/s, and now it is 40GH/s.
One Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti with CUDA gives about 1,2GH/s, so it looks like only about 30 high-end graphic cards are mining BSoV at the moment.

Joined the telegram a few days ago and also applied for be a translator. My impression talking with a team member was very positive and he seemed really excited with the project!

All in all, This looks like a nice project going. I was wondering, is there a theoretical max supply of tokens?

The BSOV maximum supply will not be the same as Bitcoin, exactly, because BSOV is burnt. Right now there is over 50,000 BSOV which are burnt. meaning the max supply is like Bitcoin minus the 50,000. :)

Yeah, I was speaking more from a theoretical perspective  Practically, I know it will be much, much less and (and continuously declining) thanks to the 1% burn in all transactions !

Bsov project is just a wonderful project with a lot of fantastic features, I Just read the new Burning handbook it is a wonderful write up and i really enjoyed all the pages especially Page 14 (Timelocking with SovCube) and page 16 (Mining BSOV), the timelocking will make the coin to be scarce and also increase market value of the coin and also Mining process is very good and this wil make it difficult for cheaters to accumulate Bsov in a wrong way

Really like page 8 of the cook&burn book of BSOV.
It is the best way to introduce BSOV and crypto to my children.

Like the deflationary design and still mineable solo on a small GPU rig. Add in the friendly telegram community and it worth checking out  ;D

they charge a 2% deposit fee this is not very good.

2% fee is normal for CEX listing a deflationary token.

the normal is not to charge a fee to deposit.

bsov is a deflationnary coin, with 1 % of all transactions getting burned permanently. I guess that's why the fee is there, to cover the difference.

You can always use DDEX or any of the other exchanges the coin is listed :)
