Who knows Bitcoin will the Number one in the future? Does anyone know that's bitcoin will still work in the future? I think here a new coin will get the first place in the crypto market. Any coin takes this place. Need more popularity and marketing with a good opportunity.

there can be a new coin some day that takes bitcoin's place but so far we have seen thousands of new coins and none of them were even good let alone want to come close to bitcoin to take its place ;)

No one knows. Better alternatives can come, but I really don't see a better coin coming any time soon. Most likely not even in our lifetime in my opinion. Bitcoin is simply just too far ahead in terms of everything.

I do think that Libra might serve as a good opposition when it comes to cryptocurrency world.
As far as right now is concerned, we know that there is not even a single coin that is near the place or price of Bitcoins , when we talk about cryptocurrencies , people tends to naturally think that we are talking about the Bitcoins.

We have seen thousands of coin has been created after creation of bitcoin. But till now Bitcoin is the king of markets. All the coins depend on bitcoin run. Its because of exchanges, because all the exchanges accept bitcoin as a mother coin and bitcoin has a great community. So I think Bitcoin will remain as a king of crypto market even there is new coin created by others. It's very easy create a new coin but it's not very easy create a great community.

Nothing rules indefinately. And there are barely any records that are not broken. So definitely bitcoin would lose it's position one time in the future.
But when exactly in the future is a difficult question. As, things are rapidly changing in the crypto sphere, I believe the reign of Bitcoin would be short lived. It may be dethroned even before 2030.

You never need to ask this as a question to anyone buddy. there is a huge range of support we have bitcoin which is not having to other cryptocurrencies. We always need to praise it.

Bitcoin has been and will continue on being  the reigning king of the crypto for a long time, not just in terms of its high price that just keeps on getting up and up, but also in terms of trading volume, and to be honest that is really hard to beat, but who know maybe the facebook Librea will have a huge success and people all over the internet will start using for various thing, and it might just might be able to compete with bitcoin in terms of trading volume and not in terms of price because that is impossible to do.

It's not an easy question. Currently, Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency even though some others at least now offer faster and cheaper transactions. If people stick to it now, I don't see why they would change their mind. As for Bitcoin working in the future - this is truly unclear. If the network becomes overloaded before there appears a popular and viable solution to handle all those transactions at a reasonable price and speed - people might abandon it. Not to mention that there's always the risk of quantum computer cracking this crypto, and in that case, people can turn to quantum-resistant coins that start appearing nowadays but are not very popular yet.

Most altcoins that offer faster and cheaper transactions can do so because there is no demand for their block space. If 99% of your block space is not being used, sure, your transactions will be confirmed quickly. I do however have to point out that fast and cheap transactions don't mean they are safe. Most altcoin chains can easily be rolled back, attacked, etc.

People need to understand that most altcoins are being donated value and liquidity because they are paired against Bitcoin. Without Bitcoin the majority of the altcoins wouldn't exist, and those that would exist would trade for pennies. With governments cracking down on non compliant exchanges altcoins will be under fire even more, especially the more exotic ones.

In the end, with Lightning there is no reason to complain about 'slow' and expensive transactions anymore. Try it out and see for yourself.

Current BTC Dominance is 62.4% and it took 10 years for it to climb this far and to be called the king of crypto.
However, I believe in change and innovation, so it is possible that a new coin can pop up in the future (maybe 10 years from now) and share the BTC dominance, maybe 50/50 or 51/49.

There are now proper rumblings of Big Money. Few of them are expressing much interest in anything other than BTC. Once they're in place and have some decent traction any chance of a 'Bitcoin killer' coming along will be vastly less likely.

I'm still far from convinced about lightning networks, but if BTC is fully entrenched the incentive is there to attempt to build further function on top of that, not lash up some nothing chain that will never get anywhere.

There is no need to bother yourself on whether Bitcoin will still remain the king of the crypto market because Bitcoin is and will always be the king of the entire crypto ecosystem. Bitcoin was introduced in the world alongside blockchain technology, and blockchain technology is currently taking over the entire world. There is no blockchain without the mention of Bitcoin.

It is not gonna happen because so far I can see the sign that altcoin (either existed coin on exchange or the new project) have a popularity who can beat bitcoin as the king of crypto. The community is the main reason here, which can make the price up and the price down are because the user itself. You have to know bitcoin's community is very large, maybe the most crypto user are the investor of bitcoin and they choose altcoin as the second place to invest. For now bitcoin still number one, the dominance is really high, the popularity also really high, its the number one coin when people want to invest and bitcoin can be used in more places compare to other coin, but no one know how long the dominance going to last, new coin keep on appearing, bitcoin must keep on update to be number one

High price? Bitcoin had the ATH price of a cryptocurrency. Users? I doubt that Bitcoin users are second to none. I don't know your preference but all I know is that BTC holds records and records, if there will be a king, it will be Bitcoin. So why am I talking about Bitcoin and not these new cryptos? Because Bitcoin will stay at the top as long as cryptocurrency is around. It is a great profit generator, that is why.

Bitcoin is the first coin and the most beautiful thing is BTC can add functionalities that other coins are using now, first they use in alts and then in BTC, so BTC can be relevant for years
And you have to consider big investors are choosing BTC, it's better to trust than some alts

I think if there is any other coin that could replace bitcoin, that coin would be in the likes of Ethereum or Litecoin or better. But as of now, if the price of the altcoins are not following through bitcoin's price, I think there is no such thing that could surpass bitcoin.

Litecoin is a poor copy of bitcoin and copy coins will never be able to perform 10% as bitcoin let alone replace it. as for ethereum, it has too many problems to even become a big project. problems such as centralization and lack of immutability are the most serious issues. other smaller ones is its lack of scalability and unlimited supply. not to mention that it is a token not a currency like bitcoin.

Even if there's a lot of new coin coming, I think bitcoin bitcoin will still remain in its place. Its been there for many years. I think, as long as people trust bitcoin, it will remain as number one.

It's possible in the future that there will be another coin that can replaced bitcoin in the top 1 spot, but as of now i don't see any coins that can even reach half of bitcoins marketcap so bitcoin will still remain the king for many years.

Well, there will be a lot of copy cat coins, but most of them end up filling the pockets of the people who created it <pump b dumps> and a lot of people will be left with a empty <worthless> bag.  :P

One thing most of these coins cannot copy is the large network of merchants that supports Bitcoin after 10 years and the large amount of people that are using these bitcoins on a daily basis. <Demand for coins are key to it's success>

yes that's right, maybe a lot of people here support bitcoin because it's currently a bull run but who knows for the future. whether bitcoin will have the same fate as Yahoo, Nokia, IBM and others or will Bitcoin like Google, Facebook and Apple increase every day. And we used to think that Yahoo was the best messaging service, so Yahoo refused to buy Google and now the company was defeated by the company he refused. Indeed, everything in this world is like a spinning wheel.

Bitcoin will remain the king of cryptocurrency for a long time. If you think some random altcoin will simply come to the fore and replace Bitcoin, it will never happen. If for any reason Bitcoin will fall, it will not because of any altcoin that appears to be a stronger contender of the throne. It will be due to the efforts by the governments and the banks. And if that happens, an altcoin will not inherit the crown of Bitcoin. Crypto will be starting all over again. And it is going to be a much harder battle.

Bitcoin for me is a very strong asset and whatever efforts the government to destroy bitcoin it wouldn't be enough to ruin or let bitcoin disappear. Bitcoin is by far valuable than other altcoins and I don't think there will be an altcoin that can replace bitcoin.

Seeing the current situation of altcoins, I do not see any altcoin which could come up and take the place of Bitcoin. Even the XRP and ETH both have proved that they cannot come close to the marketcap of bitcoin despite being on No 2 and 3 position for a very long time period.

Also Bitcoin have been forked few times and none of the forked bitcoin has even managed to show any signs of replacing the original bitcoin.

in my opinion the future of cryptocurrency is Bitcoin and of course Bitcoin will always be the king of cryptocurrency even in the future even though 21 million Bitcoins have been mined by people.

Btc is dominant and it is the leader for all other coins. Because of btc today their are so many other altcoins created in the market and move depending upon the btc. Thus for years to come btc will continue to be the leader in the market.

YES definitely. As long as bitcoin exists it will be the king and no other coin can replace BTC.  There is so much humor that ETH will dominate BTC but I don't see any other coin as BTC rival. It is like BTC is the mothercoin and the altcoin will just follow the trend or the value of bitcoin.

You maybe asking this question because a lot of people are talking about the coming of Facebook’s Libra coin? Well, we won’t really know but with what Bitcoin has been through, all the ups and downs, the criticisms, all those negative predictions and speculations, all the regulations being imposed and other hassles and disadvantages, and yet bitcoin is still at the top. I believe that this success will be difficult for any rising altcoins to beat.

I don't think Libra could endanger Bitcoin in.any way. It's a coin.with totaly different concept, with centralised support and I.don't think it will attract many followers or achieve some high value.
To my opinion Bitcoin will keep the dominance and the biggest percentage of market cap and the recent data are showing that to us clearly. I don't expect any surprises, so far there is no coin who could be top competition for Bitcoin.

I think there can be only few competitors for btc. I won't list them, we can see them in top5 crypto. But I don't really believe in every of them as in the King of crypto.

Countless altcoins were introduced and launched to beat the features of bitcoin, and replace its position, yet, they haven't got the chance of getting the popularity of bitcoin. They can always claim to be the best and better than bitcoin, showing comparison tables, graphs, etc., but their bottleneck is the adoption of their currency. If you talk to a noncrypto user, what cryptocurrency he is familiar with, the first thing he will mention is bitcoin. And if you try to mention all the others, they will be confused of their existence. So I don't think bitcoin will be replaced by any other altcoin in the meantime.

So far it seems that no other crypto got any close the the market cap of BTC, except for the one fluke ETH did in 2017 and nada since then. I think it will take a lot of capital, relations and advertising if any crypto wants to take down BTC but as it stands right not it seems that BTC is still at the top ;D

Bit pin will keep soaring till it becomes very expensive. Onthy those who ft in how will have all the profits.

Bitcoin is the parent of all crypto currencies, so it is impossible to replace Bitcoin as the king of crypto currencies, even though there will be new crypto currencies popping up every day and there are even crypto currencies that have a higher price than bitcoin, still the eyes of users. Yes, Bitcoin will still be the king of Cryptocurrency.  Because Bitcoin is the main coin in Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has the highest value compared to other coins.  Although there are many good coins in this Cryptocurrency, they will never be able to defeat Bitcoin, until whenever Bitcoin will remain the first.

So far I can't see any evidence to the contrary. Bitcoin was first mined in 2009, and ever since then it has remained as the no.1 cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization and the number of users. The only instance when it faced some competition was during mid-2017, when Ethereum was very close to overtaking the market cap of BTC. But ETH is in very bad state now, due to the destruction of the ICO market.

The far away future is not for us to take a peek. But insofar as the near future is concerned, I cannot see an altcoin that appears to be a viable option to replace Bitcoin. For now, the rule of Bitcoin is unchallenged. The rise of the news about the upcoming release of Libracoin is posed as a possible challenge to the rule of Bitcoin. But as I see it, there isn't any threat at all. As a matter of fact, the release of the news even propelled Bitcoin to higher prices. Well you don't need to be told twice when it comes to the cryptocurrency which is going to dominate the market. Bitcoin has always been the king of cryptocurrencies ever since it was generated and there is absolutely no cryptocurrency that can usurp its authority over the market.

It wont be too right to speculate about other coins superceeding or taking over bitcoin dominance in the crypto space, as no one knows what tomorrow holds. But as it stands, bitcoin still remain the king of crypto currency, I dont see a coin taking over from bitcoin soon, not even in the near future.

I'm optimistic that bitcoin will still be king and number one crypto. although now there are many speculations that corner Bitcoin, but that is only limited to predictions. bitcoin has proven that he can be the best, and will remain so in the future. and when the price of bitcoin falls, he still has the power to rise and maintain the first position.

The thing is, even if this should happen one day, it wouldn't matter to bitcoin. And I think it might actually happen because there is just too much competition and too many coins are having big banking money around them, they could all decide one day to pool their resources and just go for it, maybe around something like Ripple or even Tether or even Libra. But it won't matter! Bitcoin, king or not, will still be the one that plays the most important role.

Will always be on top no matter what, most of the projects not just on cryptocurrency but some such as in amazon and other services only accepts Bitcoin since it's the major cryptocurrency and sometimes Ethereum but not always and also Bitcoin is paired with most of the cryptocurrency on the market (not all but most of them) so that's the answer for your question.

Bitcoin will still remain king of cryptocurrencies whatever happens. All other crypto were created because of bitcoin. They are created to compete with bitcoin but they never accomplished it. If bitcoin will die then other alts will follow as well imo.

Future is unpredictable and there may or not a coin that will measure up to Bitcoin but let us watch what the future holds. Since when did other coin surpass bitcoin? From the moment I have enteres crypto space, bitcoin is the only king I have met before until now. We can't say the future but considering that BTC is the first crypto coin that was invented makes it a King in the crypto world. There is something in bitcoin that can't beat any other coins. It's the FIRST coin in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin will grow due to the network effect. People on the Bitcoin network will bring new people to the network, which will expand it. And other small altcoins just will not stand the competition in this with Bitcoin. If you watch American movies and series then you should know how Americans take that word "national security" very seriously. The word naticional security is the last argument that they use to overthrow anything that they do not like. are at those times that I wanted to be a fly to see the face of Mark Zuckerberg. I believe he do not sleep well, especially if he heard that his currency is a danger to the US "national security"

The market capital of bitcoin is highest at this time there is no doubt about that. But the presence of the altcoins makes it more accessible for a larger audience.

for the past couple of weeks someone started something about bitcoin rise being because of Libra and since for a year certain people were desperate for any reason to justify a rise that weren't coming (in 2018) they are now easily convinced that it must be true. which is why we see it repeated like a parrot now. it is like ETF news all over again but since price was correction at the time, it never stuck.

Theoretically, everything is possible and maybe we will see sometime a cryptocurrency that will take the place of Bitcoin. But at the moment this is not even close to see. At the moment, Bitcoin is the most popular, expensive and easy to use cryptocurrency.

One thing is sure by now. A cryptocurrency with better technology won't be able to overtake Bitcoin. If that was the case, then Ethereum could have overtaken Bitcoin by 2014/15. Or third generation cryptocurrencies such as Cardano and NEO could have overtaken Bitcoin by 2017. They say Libra is a major threat to btc but we will never know. If Libra really did dethrone btc in the future then no cryptocurrencies can ever take its place because first is that it is backed by Facebook and I'm sure that those who uses FB will use their coin regardless of the privacy matter. with a limited amount of bitcoin available I think bitcoin is the most important and attractive coin. for a long time to come I am very confident that bitcoin will still be the king of crypto. and will not be easily replaced.

In a thousand times yes, bitcoin would always be the king of all cryptocurrencies so far as it is one of the popular trade pairs on cryptocurrency exchange. Look at it this way, supposing any new coin comes up and seems to be good to invest. Crypto enthusiasts are still going to use BTC to purchase that coin and the more the need for that coin the relatively higher demand of bitcoin that is going to be in the ecosystem hence still pushing BTC upfront.

if crypto will take over the system? the answer is yes without any speculation , like peer to peer file sharing is all over the world and its impossible to stop it..with peer to peer money there are just more friction to scale it compare to peer to peer file sharing, until business adopt it and people get used to it.


if it will remain the king of crypto for now yes with all the shitcoins that come, but if top quality coins will start to pop up bitcoin will have competitors for sure.

I consider Bitcoin as the king of Crypto Market to be valid until the cryptocurrency exists. I am not too sure about Libra until really enter the market. Whatever Bitcoin is superior in many ways as well as to its anonymity.

I think that for the short term for the next five years, bitcoin will still be the king of crypto currencies. Public enthusiasm for bitcoin is very high. Public trust in bitcoin is increasingly increasing so that bitcoin is increasingly popular. Moreover, the recent increase in bitcoin has made bitcoin prices rise rapidly making more bitcoin lovers. But over the next five years I have not predicted who will rule the crypto currency market. I think between bitcoin, eth, and BNB will compete to occupy that position.

So far , bitcoin always reach top position over 9 years which IMO it's difficult to replace bitcoin except the coin is really fenomenal.

It will always remain the king even if people value another coin higher one day. The king in my understanding is the precursor and the first of its kind. Henry Ford could be called the king of automobiles and it doesn't matter that there are more companies on the market now and he's dead. People die but the ideas remain. I really believe that bitcoin will remain the king of crypto in the future because we all known that even the price of bitcoin will dump very high it will still recover and it will be more stronger, many people is trusting bitcoin compare to other coin because btc is still the strongest among them.

Unconditionally bitcoin is king of cryptocurrencies.  And so it will always be, I believe. I don't see any real rival who can remove the king from the throne. I think in the future bitcoin will strengthen its position

yes, there is no doubt that this wave of new bitcoin market price movement clearly users focusing on the btc. But, therr could be a high chance also that other altcoins will goin to shine  to shine. But, unfortunately nodirection and will most likely the other altcoins will drop as most evryone focusing on btc.

Interesting phenomenon. You can go to coinmarketcap and see the history of the top altcoins in the past years. Only bitcoin has always remained the leader of this market. I doubt if anyone will ever be able to replace him.

So many ups and downs, crypto drama, hacking incidents, and other crypto-related issues have had happened already, yet, bitcoin stands its own ground.
The pedestal it is holding is not yet replace by any other project which is claiming to be the best or superior as compared to bitcoin.
So I believe, btc will not be replaced anytime soon. An altcoin which has the motive to replace btc will move heaven and earth to achieve such feat.

Alts struggle to get that kind of adoption unless they're old or they're so big and can spend a lot of money in marketing.

there are thousands of coins, crypto or tokens. but none of them can get close and compete with the value of the price.

In terms of market capitalisation definitely. However when it comes to the ease of use as a means of daily settlement its highly unlikely. More altcoins with faster speeds and zeros fees have been created. Basically it'll just be more of a store of wealth than a means of transacting.

Libra (if it is released someday) will not affect Bitcoin. It is going to be a stable coin, and it will by created not for making profits on it. As for BTC leadership, one day, it can give up, but not in the nearest 5-7 years.

Definitely not one cryptocurrency can not achieve the results that Bitcoin has achieved for its existence.  This amount of capitalization and the maximum price level that Bitcoin had would not be available for any coin.  In addition, if BTC will be used for its intended purpose, then the relevance of other cryptocurrencies is lost.

Absolutely, altcoins can grow and reach to high price but cannot defeat bitcoin in the process. With dominance rate of 60%, bitcoin is tough to beat.

Also, the amount of money generated by a big project tends to be proportional to the quality and quantity of service they offer to the public. In the case of alts, it is not in a much higher way.

The reason why it happens like this is really simple, it is not matching Bitcoin's might in any of those two aspects and for that reason it won't have the same position in comparison with the others.

I think that bitcoin will remain in its leading place. Go to the coinmarketcap. Look what happened to the market 3-5-7 years ago. What were then altcoins. And who occupied what place. ;)

No doubt! Bitcoin will remain on top in crypto market and no other coin or libra can take that place, if we see CMC then we can see BTC dominance is increasing %65.1 even market is going down that means investors moving to bitcoin and I think BTC will reach ATH or higher this year.  ::)

totally agree, since 2013 the price of Bitcoin has bull and bear consistently but has never lost the price of Altcoin that continues to appear and circulate.

Although there are so many altcoins being created with good potentials but the mother coin is the mother coin. No coin can supercede it in this crypto space so far as BTC is alive.

There is an old saying in English. It goes like this: "too many cooks spoil the broth".

The same has happened with Altcoins. Before 2016, the altcoins numbered a few hundreds and most of them had enough room and space to grow. Now we have thousands of altcoins and for each niche domain we have dozens if not hundreds of altcoins. In the end, there is unhealthy competition between the alts (on top of the competition from BTC) and none of them gets traction.

Time will definitely determine whether bitcoin will survive or not. However, I do still believe its the best crypto coin and the topeading coin in crypto industry. No doubt about that.

Bitcoin is considered the king of Cryptocurrency market because of it's popularity , its history and because it is decentralised.
Newbies don't really know much about other altcoins so they blindly invest in Bitcoins only because of its popularity.
Although we have to see if Bitcoins will survive quantum computers in the future.

As this market is unpredictable, we really don't know if there will be coins in the future that will come and replace bitcoin. But so far in the last 10 years or so, bitcoin remain dominant despite attempts like BCH. So let's just enjoy the ride and see how it goes in the next 10 years.

The market is still unpredictable due to price fluctuations and different aspects affecting the economy of the Cryptocurrency Industry. Bitcoin is undeniably one of the best Crypto ever created and because of its milestones, it continues to be the best Cryptocurrency. Having satoshis and HODLing satoshis will be profitable in the future because Bitcoins price again is steadily increasing. It may remain as one of the best crypto but we can never too sure to Alternate Cryptocurrencies.

I think Bitcoins remain a crypto king and it is clear bitcoin to be the king of Crypto, with the increasing number of adoption, international cryptocurrency regulation continues to evolve. In the coming September, let alone Iran legitimized cryptocurrency mining, resulting in the price of Bitcoin reaching the highest record recently. Although many emerging coin-coins but not able to rival Bitcoin.

As you can see right now, there are countless of coins and altcoins that are popping up from nowhere but bitcoin is still the King. There is a little chance that other currencies can replace bitcoin as a King/#1 in coinmarketcap.

Though it is very hard to predict the future but base on what happens in the past 10 years, there is a big chance that Bitcoin will remain as King of crypto market even if it's transaction fees are kinda high compare to other currencies.

No one is king forever yet. Technology is going run and run so crypto technology must be running forwarded. So today BTC is king in crypto tomorrow may come another coin but you have to believe in crypto at the end of the day so that market may build up.

Most of the altcoins also have large and loyal communities. For example, the prank coin DOGE is having one of the largest communities among the cryptos. But it is not going to guarantee anything. Coins such as NEO, ADA and TRX have some of the largest user-communities. And still they went down by more than 95% during 2018-19.

seeing the current market price developments, I am still very confident, that in the future, the price of bitcoin will still remain the highest of all existing crypto. other than that, bitcoin will also remain at the top. until now, no coin has approached the reputation of bitcoin.

This is a very familiar question as to how we have wondered if Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash is the king of Crypto.  Bitcoin has positioned itself for a long time and there is no reason that Bitcoin does not continue to lead because it is a monument of the community and never collapses.

Bitcoin is the pioneer of the crypto market and i don't think any cryptocurrency has the potential of overthrowing it on coinmarketcap. Bitcoin shall forever be the highest and most valued cryptocurrency over the crypto market. Bitcoin has been the cryptocurrency that has shown to have high return of investment over some ten years now and this has made it gained fame among cryptocurrency investors. This is the more reason why it's price it's always high among other cryptocurrencies.

Until today it remains on top than other coin although there are other crypto competing on it, still cannot surpass the status of btc. This is still well known to many users so I cannot see on bitcoin to be on low than other crypto.

Obviously that is the most important fact. But in this case, I was replying to the OP who claimed that having a large and dedicated community has worked to the advantage of Bitcoin. While what he said may be true, I don't agree here that having a big community has helped Bitcoin in a big way. On the other hand, the lack of consensus among this same community has resulted in many hard forks and the forked out coins are now commanding a market share close to 3%.

fFor now indeed, but who guarantees that bitcoin will always be the king? I don't look down on bitcoin, but anything can happen in crypto. what is happening in the crypto market now is, users will join when they see the huge potential that exists on that coin, if they see greater potential brought by new coins in the future, with all the better innovations, it is not impossible there is a massive migration to the coin right?
