Title: The Top 5 Best Crypto Cold Storage Devices
Post by: JessicaVL on July 11, 2019, 06:49:36 AM
Cold wallets are regarded as the best way to store digital assets. The primary reason for this is due to the fact that the important parameters that are used to access such wallets do not categorically interact with the internet. In essence, this method keeps the key details of such wallets away from the prying eyes of remote thieves and hackers that specialize in stealing funds that are stored in digital wallets. These top 5 best crypto cold storage devices are worth considering, especially when a huge amount of funds are involved.

Opened the article.
First device listed is Bitfi.
Closed the article.

Bitfi is a terrible device by every measure. It has been hacked repeatedly, by multiple different people, in multiple different ways. It has had private keys and even the seed extracted from it. It has had customized firmware installed on it. It has been completely emptied of all the coins which were on it. Not only that, but it isn't really a hardware wallet at all - it is a brain wallet which has been placed in to an (easily hacked) physical device. You only have to type "Bitfi" in to any search engine to see page and page of evidence of how unsecure it is.

No one will take you or your article seriously while you list this borderline scam as a "top 5 wallet".

For fairness, BitFi was listed as the number 5 but still included on top of the list though.

And in the last part of the article, their own product is discussed in details.

These top 5 is probably just a joke, add whatever hardware wallet out there that pop out first inside their mind.

...

Over the years I have used a Ledger Nano, a Ledger Nano S and the Trezor Model One.  I liked all of them.

(I also used, and liked, a very early small Ledger device they no longer carry at their website.)

But, I have used my Ledger Nano S for perhaps a year now, and really like it a lot.  It took a little bit to teach myself how to use it (I have no friends around here into cryptos), but I, a non-technical guy, was able to figure it out.  And I also was able to create another account for an "Alt" that I experimented with.

I had no beef with the Trezor other than the firmware update was a little scary, but it went through OK.  I have NOT tried the newer Trezor Model T, but I would imagine that it would work well too.

I have not used the other hardware wallets in OP's article.

For me, I am happiest with the Ledger Nano S.  And as I am reluctant to monkey around with Bluetooth, I am not likely to get the Nano X, their newest.
