Title: Trump's statement against cryptocurrency
Post by: Jpti on July 12, 2019, 08:19:52 AM
How the crypto market will react now? President Trump's statement against bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Trump for the first time come out openly against cryptocurrency. The US is one of the countries having a large share of cryptocurrency market. What will be future implication following Trump coming down heavily on cryptocurrency?

had read several news about his comments and  and also his tweet stating his dislike on bitcoin and cryptocurrency.  I don't know if we should be worried about the statement but it looks to be bullish for the cryptocurrency community

With or without statement from Mr. Trump, we all already knew very clearly about the main management approach of the USA. governments on crypto currencies. Therefore, in general, the recent statements of Mr.Trump in fact do not disclose anything new, IMO. There are just some people over reacted with those statements, they are minority.

I have information that Trump has kept a large amount of BTC five years ago. Surprisingly, until now Trump declared that. I think that's just an excuse for him to buy more BTC. Relax and see what happens next.

Good luck!!

Are you worried about that? good or bad publicity, you know that it's still publicity. We don't know if Trump truly anti bitcoin/cryptocurrency because this is what the whales of the market does. In the beginning, they are bashing bitcoin and crypto and you will be surprised that they already have it and will admit that they had bought it at the dip. I'm worried at least with his statement and even thankful because he has highlighted bitcoin to his tweet.

Of course Trump will not like bitcoin, and other crypto types because it is decentralized and not subject to government management. furthermore, the crypto market is still too new and there are no clear rules from the government, it is turning into a tool to carry out illegal activities. But I think that in the long run the government will change and make clear rules for managing crypto, so we don't need to worry too much about Trump's statement. He simply said he did not like it, not a ban.

It's nothing new actually we all know what is the stand of USA government ever since and every government for that matter, they don't want to lose control of its people and they do not want decentralization in the first place, It's unfortunate back then we have a coin named Trumpcoin.

As everyone knows, Mr Trump is a great businessman and has a lot of wealth, And I think that the President revealed the encrypted currency and wanted to be the biggest beneficiary of this market and made this statement until the market fell and exploited incredibly.

Do we have to treat it a big deal? There is nothing special about what this man speaks. And I don't think this will cause even a little dent as to the reputation and potentials and even price of Bitcoin. For so long that Donald Trump releases controversial statements that are clearly uninformed, people have already learned not to pay attention.

Trump's statement despite being the President of the US will not have any implication on bitcoin and any other genuine cryptocurrency. A lot has been said against cryptocurrency prominent people in the world, yet cryptocurrency has not shifted ground, rather it is waxing stronger. Therefore, his statement should be disregarded as been the usual, because it is not new.

That's an agressive words coming from President Trump of the USA, and it's really remarkable for all of us. It means a very serious matter for bitcoin, but as decentralized matter regarding bitcoin; the financial freedom still remains intact despite of strong words from the President.

It may affect libra since facebook wants to get involve with the banks so meaning if facebook wants that to happen then, they'll have to face regulations issued by the government. But other than that, I don't think there will be much. And the market looks bullish right now especially bitcoin so no need to worry.

the crypto market will not have a major impact on his statement. many people give statements about crypto and on average they say crypto is bad. but in the end crypto is still developing and there are still many who like it, so just relax.

I think it's normal he doesn't like BTC and crypto because he is the president. as long as the government still rejects crypto, he will do so too.

To be sincere I don't truly believe what Trump is his own stand on Bitcoin, I just feel it is what he was told and decided to go with his advisers. Kiyosaki  (Rich Dad, Poor Dad Author) is a friend of Trump ad have both publish a book together, do invest in Crypto, I know he owns BTC and Ethereum, so Trump is telling people like this they don't know what they are doing

yes maybe it's just a sensation made to disrupt the market. with conditions like this maybe those who have the intent and interests can buy bitcoin at a cheaper price.
do you remember that the trump also talked about the death of a big film actor, even though he was still alive. whatever he actually did.

Most of people just dont know that blockchain itself is among the most teansparent system out there because it is recorded since the emergence until now, if every btc addresses were to be changed to the owner's name we can trace down all of people's transaction and they are still thinking fiat is less anonymous than bitcoin smh.

Trump can't stop bitcoin or crypto in general. However, he can stop (or try to) the gateway between fiat and crypto by massively regulating the centralized exchanges, making it practically if not technically illegal for any citizen to transfer USD to an exchange. And that might work for a time, but with decentralized exchanges coming on line I don't see how even that would work long term. There'd have to be an outright ban on all crypto in the US and even considering that miniscule possibility it would just be the US.

We understood clearly that the USA is the strictest nation on crypto currencies, especially KYC requirements on crypto exchanges' users, and private coins. So, what the President stated recent hours does not change anything in the management strategies of the USA government on crypto currencies. I don't understand why there are people whom fall into panic with recent opinion of the President on Libra, bitcoin, and crypto currencies.  :)

I do not think that latest Trump's statement will negatively affect the crypto market. On the contrary, the more high-ranking officials will publicly discuss cryptocurrency, the more popular bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency market will become .

I think that this statement cannot have such a strong influence on the cryptocurrency market to bring it down. Such statements have already been made by many different people. It is necessary to understand that the cryptocurrency market may have a bad effect on the development of the banking sector or even bring it down. Therefore, cryptocurrency in this regard is dangerous.

That is hilarious. Well Mr. Trump is a businessman and this cryptocurrency has been pretty much profitable for people in the US. Their major banks like Goldman Sache and many more have actually started accepting Bitcoin transactions. The leading companies are accepting Bitcoin as a medium of exchange and to cut down the cost of their economic activities. Do not follow what Mr. Trump says.

The very fact that the president of America is publicly starting to discuss the cryptocurrency market shows that the future is greater with us! But how soon - in a month or a year - the market will start growing as no one knows in 2017 ... It remains only to wait and continue to analyze new projects.

Trump's tweets has became so light weight as they now don't attract any significant attention at all. He's not only decreasing his credibility, he's also defaming the position of the president of united states of America. The USA is itself being isolated from the whole world and international community have stopped seeking for it. As once the leader in every field, USA now lags behind in most.

Trump's comment on the volatility of crypto is exclusively his opinion about cryptocurrency and thats the way he sees cryptocurrency. I do not think this will affect cryptocurrency at large because its an opinion of a single entity which obviously have no impact on bitcoin and block chain technology. The US government has not really come out to speak about bitcoin but the government has not being in full support of bitcoin and blockchain. I believe the future is great and I see that no one is capable to stop the revolution.

He is a highly fluctuative man, his opinion changes so fast. However, what Trump said is not new at all. We all know how the USA government have tried to control crypto currencies (exchanges, ICOs, IEOS, and so on) in their nation. What Trump said is just boring repeat on what the USA governements have implemented for so long. He did not say anything new, and there is no breaking news from his statements.

Based on what Trump have done so far in his career, his ultimate goal is financial benefits. Sure, he or his relatives have likely invested or might invest in crypto. There is an assumption that Trump tried to manipulate Bitcoin and crypto due to his lovely daughter, Ivanka. https://www.ccn.com/news/why-ivanka-is-the-ticket-to-influencing-trump-on-bitcoin/2019/07/12/

Honestly, I doubt anyone cares about Trump at all. He talks about whatever he wants the way he wants and that is not just crypto currency neither, even stock market is not caring about what he does and that is why it doesn't go too low nor too high because they know he might do something crazy that would drop the prices of all stocks or do something weird and increase the stock market prices.

Only the republican Americans and only some part of it as well cares about trump, all the other Americans and rest of the world sees him as someone not to be taken seriously and doesn't even feel like he is the president at all, he is just a puppet for some people around him and does whatever he is told. So couple of tweets about crypto by him means absolutely nothing to us at all.

I haven’t read his tweet but I’ve read in a similar thread in different board that he said he dislikes bitcoin or cryptocurrency, well it doesn’t make big sense if one doesn’t like crypto. A lot of people do not like bitcoin but it didn’t stop bitcoin from going forward and becoming even more stronger. Just because he is a president of a powerful country doesn’t mean he can already influence people’s decision on a certain matter.

His statement is baseless, he said crypto is being used as the payment method of drug dealing. So, how about the ship seized of JP Morgan which had $1.3 billion worth of drug? Both cryptocurrency and the traditional currency can be used for each and every exchange. But, at the end, cryptocurrency has better option than traditional currency.

This simply shows the relevance and threat the blockchain technology and most especially bitcoin is putting across to most economies still clinging to the old monetary system. Bitcoin and blockchain has come to stay and there is no changing this fact. Trump comments are only going to bring recognition to the industry and further grow the technology. His comments are at best, advertising for the industry.

I hope it will have none. Actually, I think Trump is getting scared a bit. He saw that "standard" fiat currencies have their flaws and some people noticed that. The system can stay sustainable for as long as a majority of people believe in it. The house of cards can fall down pretty quickly with a many people involved in its demolition, so they can not risk an end of the world controlled by them. Oh boy, this fight will be tougher and tougher. Politicians will not stand for us. It is in our hands to do so.

It may give a little bit of influence from this bad or negative news. I think this will have a huge negative impact from crypto and bitcoin industry. All we know that USA is the most powerful country in the world. So if we think there is a big possibility that bitcoin and other crypto will killed because of US President statement about crypto. Many countries are depending on US so they are following on it's step. So time comes that this will be a big problem to all crypto users and investors.

Lot's of criticism from big personality in the world but crypto is still here staying healthy and alive and I think no one could stop crypto and the government's only option left is just to regulate it.

He will just lose votes coming from Cryptocurrency investors and believers, Trump will soon lose his presidency they just come and go soon we will have a US president that is lenient to Cryptocurrency I guess Trump does not have an idea how many Americans are into Bitcoin.

I think this is just a private opinion of Trump and it does not affect the upcoming election of the president much. In my opinion, not accepting crypto will have a huge impact on the community of this country because America can be considered as the most crypto-using country in the world and large organizations consider it the only means of payment because it makes them anonymous

I read the news online ,trump won't like bitcoin and other altcoins but even if this will change later on government will only like to support centralized cryptocurrencies only ,I heard this news is good for bitcoin all around
I wouldn't blame Donald Trump for this statement credited to him, he is the president of the powerful country in the world he will have to protect the world dominant currency US dollar, he knows that Decentralized cryptocurrencies is a major threat to a centralized fiat currencies, Facebook Libra is also coming up, Bitcoin has come to stay however this statement in one way or the other is making bitcoin and Libra to be more popular and election is coming this are sensitive issues that have to be dealt with once for all.

Personally, I think that cryptocurrency is currently waiting for convenient conditions for a good takeoff. And there is a kind of panic in the market after the statement of the American president. And I think that all this panic will end soon. Since all this panic is done to derail the crypt and make good money on it.

I guess trumps have made crypto even more popular, the more it is discussed, the more people will know and there will also be many new investors who want to try to buy it, not every US trade will come out from crypto I think maybe more US people will find out and learn about bitcoin.

This is a matter of world trade competition, I don't think it will have any effect on cryptocurrency, the crypto market has now dominated the global market, and the influence of Trump's words is minimal. because cryptocurrency with an anonymous nature can stand alone without having to have the USA.

Is there any announcement by Trump? or NO?
Anyway, it doesn't matter to me. Because l know what does not happen in this industry and l can't deny the fact, l have read some news about it. He has made very clever business contracts but cryptocurrency is not in his special interest. l don't know we must worry about it or not. BTC is a decentralized monetary, therefore no one can destroy it. l wouldn't like to sound absolutely ridiculous but l have to point out that we don't know how the Government of the US weighs cryptocurrency.

Donald trump isn't against cryptocurrency, he just made a comment. Some people just take it so hardly and think he is against crypto.

Maybe, most viewers got the wrong context of what he said. Maybe, he is saying that for the benefit of those who will listen and watch him. And the bad thing is, he is viewed by people around the globe. I don't think he is totally against crypto. We don't know his inner perception on cryptocurrencies.

I read his tweets on Twitter, he tweeted up to 3 times, about crypto and Libra. But it still doesn't affect the market much more than a small dump of BTC. It is similar to what China has done with crypto, they completely block ICOs and exchange in their countries. But eventually BTC increased to $ 20k
That's only his opinion which based on traditional way of monetary system, if his statement really  have a negative impact on bitcoin price then it should not have  bullish scenario, that's also the effects of being a decentralized even influential people could not  pinned down crypto currency.

It is not his own statement. But he is the president of the United States, it represents the entire US government system. If you read it, he said that if Facebook wants to set up a bank. They must seek a new Banking Charter

The effect of president Trump is notore than what we have seen so far in the last decline in the market value of Bitcoin and crypto currency market in general.
Well maybe that's one of reason why bitcoin price decreased to $10.9 k now after it was $13k (before the tweet from Trump which againts with crypto), but we all know there were some people or even instutional who said they aren't believe with bitcoin, after bitcoin was down to $4k months ago, they are buying/launched their own coin (e.g Jpmorgan)

The recent tweet of Trump is based on his own personal view or opinion and there is nothing to fear about. Bitcoin already recieved various criticisms in the past including death sentences but survived. Mr. Trump may not be well-informed on how the cryptocurrency works or just want to bring down the price so he can able to purchase the coin at lower price.

That trend if we like to take advantage on that, we can make serious money.

but not everyone has the confidence to buy when the market goes down. for those who are brave and have skills, they may determine the lowest price and immediately buy assets. and just waiting for the moment the pump is done on the market, it is very possible. just wait with confidence.

Am sure this is all because the Libra wasn't registered in the US and the crypto is operating in a market with so much crypto influence.

If this isn't the reason might be that they are afraid it could challenge the dollar and destabilize it's value so this is all in an effort to save what has remained.

Maybe the US government has trust issues with facebook and are trying to make sure it doesn't repeat itself.

Trumps’ opinion really matters a little bit man, and I think we can see the little effect it had over bitcoin recently because I do not want to believe that the sharp decline again is as a result of correction, but the good thing is that it will pick up and balance with time once the whole Fud news dies down.

I think his statement will affect more of U.S citizens, most of the weaker investors their will surely panic sell their coin, but once we get the weak investors out of the system, I am sure that things will normalize again. I do not blame trump though, he is simply just doing his work, he would not want to support what will weaken the U.S dollars most especially now that he is in a bid for the second term, and people may use it against him if anything happen to Dollar.

Generally, his tweet publiced bitcoins and cryptocurrencies a bit so more people now know that it exists. While it's effect may be temporary or not much,  it will majorly affect US citizens on issues concerning crypto. So blockchain projects based in USA will definitely look towards regulations as a way of making it legal and also away from criticism.

When Trump tweets something looks seriously, we should understan it in opposite meanings. From my observations, most of time, Trump does reversely with what he tweets, weeks or months later after his tweets. Someday later, Trump might tweet that crypto currencies in general and bitcoin in particular are future of human civilization.

During an interview with CNBC, Binance's CEO, Changpeng Zhao, considered Trump's comments to be good. this is because he wants the United President to start talking about cryptocurrency.

Whenever a popular person releases a statement like these, expect to have a good impact on Bitcoin's price after a couple of weeks. I know some people will be afraid or end up selling their coins. But come to think of it, if he is the President and he knows that these coins might be used on illegal activities (actually it was proven before to be used in illegal activities), and he can simply ban these coins to the US. But he didn't do it, we do not know why. Maybe he's holding Bitcoins too, we never know.  :D

How the crypto market will react now? President Trump's statement against bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Trump for the first time come out openly against cryptocurrency. The US is one of the countries having a large share of cryptocurrency market. What will be future implication following Trump coming down heavily on cryptocurrency?

In my opinion not much, but it would be a different story if he chooses the opposite, but it's expected anyway, he is obliged to fight for the interest of the banking industry, it is the government's arm to control the economy and it's people money.

One thing I picked from Trump's statement which has also been a major problem that scare most people aware from crypto is crypto volatility. It can be demoralising when you wake up in the money only to discover that a third of the market has been wiped out.

I don't think President Trump doesn't like bitcoin or cryptocurrency but he says bitcoin or cryptocurrency is not his favorite investment. I think it's a fair statement from the head of government because as President, he must maintain the credibility of dollar
I think that he is saying all this because cryptocurrency can prevent him to realize his world plans. if people will be looking for a tool of investment, they will choose bitcoin or a dollar, and if everything will be fine with the BTC then they will definitely choose it. so the Trump will be upset.  ;D But we don't care about him

As President, Trump must have kept the dominance of the dollar in the world. With the increasing popularity of bitcoin and the emergence of Libra Coin, it will disrupt the dollar's position in the world, and I think Trump's statement is still reasonable and normative

I watched Trump's statement about bitcoin that he did not like it and had no confidence in it and even in their own country was banning bitcoin, they just did not know how much bitcoin was helping in different countries that it had because at the size of a lender when you invest in it.

Cryptocurrency market reacted as the down after this statement of President Trump. The cryptocurrency future basically depends on the initiative of the USA and other few big countries.

Although it did made a pullback from $11k+ to $9.5k days after Trump’s statement, it did rise back to 5 digits again. And few days ago, it did another pullback to $9.6k before rising again to $10k+.

The point is this. It didn’t matter anymore. It only creates exposure for people to become aware no matter if it’s bad. After all, early adopters like us would quickly educate them about the true and positive nature of Bitcoin, altcoins and so on.

I also heard that it might pull back to as much as lower as $8,800 due to the “death crosses” in the chart, but yet again, it doesn’t matter. I would rather buy the dip because I know one day it will “moon” again sometime.

of course he has a lot of influence but with crypto currencies for the
first time it will not be the case to be completely exposed to politics 8)

In my opinion, it does not matter what the president says about cryptocurrency. Of course, it would be great if he urged everyone to buy Bitcoin and invest in cryptocurrencies, but what he says about Bitcoin is already good.
It doesn't matter? are you jooking? the tweet that created by a president can be considered as a reliable source to determine the future of the crypto in US. if the president decide to ban it and crypto will be over.

Trump statement will not determine the future of cryotocurrency, he isn't believer of cryptocurrency doesn't mean he won't be convinced about the good side of crypto in the neatest foreseeable future, he made a good point about the volatility of crypto, thats its own nature we have to deal with it .
Trump's statement can only affect the psychology of new people because they are not directly involved in this market, for those who use crypto, these statements are almost a daily and monthly story, too much bad information and rumors, crypto continues its path, going up and making a profit. Even these statements will become an opportunity for shrewd investors to buy low and sell high, against crypto is just an idea and theory of Trump, applying this theory into practice will have many problems

I'm not too worried about a Trump response and it shouldn't affect bitcoin and the cryptocurrency forum. there is no problem if America bans its citizens with cryptocurrency because crypto will continue to run without anyone. Trump can only ban citizens and not the world

cryptocurrency is not legal until now, but cryptocurrency still persists, so in my opinion even though Trump is against cryptocurrency, it will not be able to influence cryptocurrency or even make cryptocurrency die, because what can affect cryptocurrency is people who invest in cryptocurrency (investors) and not people who against cryptocurrency, so in my opinion the statement made by Trump to against cryptocurrency will not be able to influence cryptocurrency.

All these politicians and famous guys say one thing today and another opposite one - tomorrow. I don't think we should react this somehow. Let them talk what they want. Crypto will dominate the market anyway :)

l have just read your post. l would not like to sound absolutely ridiculous but l have to point out that it doesn't matter for Trump. If this news are right. There is nothing to worry about that. in my view, Trump like to lead everything such as cryptocurrency. But it is impossible.

I don’t think any presidential act will happen against crypto because crypto has no bad effect on the economy of any country so they don’t have any reason to ban. Crypto currency is anonymous so I think even after banning people can store it and can sell online then but I don’t consider the news of crypto banning by US government reality.
Without latest tweets of the President Trump, the USA has already had strict rules and serious managements on crypto. The nation is one of the strictest nation on crypto management, from crypto exchanges, to fundraising (ICOs, IEOs). Unfortunately, with negative perspective of Trump on crypto, that nation might implement stricter managements.
That reflects why so many exchanges and IEO are restricting any USA citizens from participating. They just don't want to take the risk of accepting USA citizens and face the consequences.
However, it seems that there are some people in their government that opposes to what Trump has said and I don't think that USA will enforce any even more strict regulation as of now.

What Trump is saying does not mean that they will do it all over the world.  Although nothing negative happened yet, although the tax service in the United States only stated that users of cryptocurrency were preparing to pay the tax, and Trump expressed his personal opinion.  I think that in India the situation is much more complicated when people face a ten-year imprisonment.

Many people believe Trump's statement led to downtrend of the market after a move for BTC to 13k$. Well, market emotions affect the crypto market greatly, since a slight FUD will cause many to dump their holdings. I also want crypto enthusiasts to understand that when these big shots draw attention so much to crypto, it means they are showing interest.  Let's try to be Patient when holding crypto, you wouldn't know if the people castigating are actually doing so to take position and buy bitcoin.

True, good expose for a crypto scene no matter they post it good or bad. But the KYC and heavily regulation law from the US make harder for crypto as well.

The crypto market has reacted like nothing has happened. Even following the statement by Trump, bitcoin has risen and altcoins followed suit.
Cryptocurrency is being adopted so intensely that nothing bad will affect the crypto market.

you are not right. Trump strongly affects the cryptocurrency market. His statements slow down its implementation very much. when the president changes in the USA then the market will begin to grow very quickly

The Presidents statement on cryptocurrency really had a bad impact in the crypto market. I guess the downtrend of events in the market started after that announcement by Trump. But in a way, I see it that the president somehow announced cryptocurrency to the world.
