since the beginning of this year. bitcoin dominance has tremendously affected the altcoin markets. when bitcoins raises, altcoin move very slowly but when it goes down. altcoins are heavily affected.  Are we going to see any major bull market for altcoin again. we are already in the third quarter of the year. i am concerned because i strongly believed in altcoins more than bitcoin.

Market up down is normal procedure. So I am not worry about altcoin also. Since bitcoin is showing much volatility in a result altcoin dumping hard. We can't expect recover altcoin market if bitcoin not stay almost stable. I am also holding few altcoin and waiting for recover. Hope soon altcoin market will recover. Until that we have to wait with patience.

Sure, we will have it again. I'm sure there's so much another people who also wait for it. Currently bitcoin is so glittering, so many people are interested in getting a lot of profits. Altcoin lover just need to be realx, the big wave is in coming.

This is highly debatable and all indices required to make an accurate call on this looks faded. Every attention seems to be on Bitcoin at the moment and there is no respite for altcoins. Altcoin season may likely happen very late in Quarter 4 of 2019

Absolutely sure we can have another seasons of AltCoins but not in the near future. Most likely it will occur at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2020.

You can see that dominance is high so the price drop will be highly affected on the altcoins as well. But how can you say that the price drop on the altcoins is a sign of bull run?

Altcoin growth is definitely to be expected, but it is not known when this will happen. Since it all depends on the big wallets that manage the course as they want. I hope that already in the fall the altcoins rate is on the growth, but for now I buy them and buy them at a loss though.

Nothing goes just one way. Bitcoin price never goes just up or just down. It goes some times up and some times down.  Right now bitcoin dominance is growing. It could start decreasing tomorrow or next month or even next year. But for sure it will.

I think there is no such a  altcoin season.. everyday is altcoin season  ;).. if your favorite altcoin is down then you just have to hold it and wait for the right timing, as we all know that market is volatile, no one can control if no one is manipulating it  8)

To be honest i feel at the moment btc is the only hot buy from here and even if i want to get in some alts i will only pick Eth only because i do not see real alt season coming anytime soon.

Yes, alts will rise again. The huge bear market really dented people's confidence in crypto. It will take some time to come back. Until that happens, BTC is the one soaking up all the incoming money. Alts will pick up later, I'm quite confident.

Will it come back? Most probably. Will it be the whole market like xmas 2017? I doubt it.  We will probably see some projects rising into the top 100 for sure, but If I were to invest now I would stay at the top of the list, those will be the first to follow the bitcoin rise.

Sure we can have alt season again, you know the crypto space activities are unpredictable and as such this is just an opportunity bringing itself for investors to buy cheap, the Alt season might take us by surprise so just accumulate good coins and wait.

It is undoubted that the Bitcoin price has a big influence on the prices of altcoins. Actually, when Bitcoin rises, the prices of altcoins are increasing as well. But for sure the price moves very slow because many people convert their assets to Bitcoin. So am altcoin season is not certain because that would mean several altcoins mooning

Truth is, you can find only 0.1% of all altcoins moon at different times

Although what causes this isn't too clear to so many of us,  however,  we're all hoping that our season comes. What I do know however is that some fake projects may have to finally bid their farewell.

I think yes sooner or later altcoin will recover from downfall. Market is moving up and down and now bitcoin at the top but i still believed that altcoin has it's own season. We just need more patience to wait and just enjoy now the bitcoin season.

decision always came to everyone's life but we need to use that otherwise it will affect our self so we cannot find this is the best time so my opinion is if you had a same amount of investment in your hands do the investment very quickly on your favorites butts will helpful for you in the future.

Altcoin it pumping but not like we predict, if bitcoin price like this altcoin should be 3 x or may be more thats we see happen at 2017, but not seen in this month market, i think the strongest altcoin for this year is binance coin/BNB

I really believe that we can meet again the altcoin season, where the price of almost al altcoins is increasing, moreover the new coins from new projects. Really hope that they can have their best chance on the market, at least, not dropped till big enough after listing.

take it easy, altcoin prices will definitely increase following the increase in the price of Bitcoin, but maybe not for now because people are more focused on investing in Bitcoin (can be seen from the increase in BTC Dominance to 65.1%) so that the price of Bitcoin is increasing at the moment, but I am sure there will be a time for altcoin price to increase, so my suggestion now is the right time to add more altcoin that you have and hold until altcoin price increase, but you have to be patient and don't let you be careless or panic sell, because it will make you regret to sell altcoin that you have and lose your money without making a profit.

It is hard to predict at this time if we have altcoins season again because i believe it all depends on the high demand of altcoins in the market but maybe not now but i know there is a time for altcoins making a bull run so let us wait.

Altcoins season will going to happen again but we cant really say when, it might take months or years.

Even its hard seeing the price of alts declining, we have to be  firm with our decision to hold, bearish trend of alts are not permanent especially if you're holding popular coins.

Currently I dont really think how the market behave im still bullish the time will come for altcoins so I keep hodling.

I wonder why you believe in altcoins more than Bitcoin. That is something weird. Many people are your complete opposite. They believe only in Bitcoin and not in altcoins. I believe in both, of course not in each and every altcoin out there, only those that are really offering advance blockchain products. Anyway, be patient, altcoin pump is going to happen 100 percent. I am sure of that. It's just that it seldom happens alongside Bitcoin pump.

Patience is still  a virtue in this season that only few alts have managed to survive, but it is the tests to determine who among all the altcoin's and we know already what kind of altcoins in the market which of which  are really reliable. If we traces the beginning of those altcoins from the start it has a good and reputable team working and the platform is really well defined. But certainly altcoins will pump  up sooner.

Well, we all know that the prices of the cryptocurrencies are so volatile. So yeah, we will see the altcoin season again but I think it'll take so much time so let us all be patient too.

I do not think that we can wait for the season of altcoins this year. Those that are in the top 20, will survive, definitely, but their speed will be slow. Simply investors now are more interested in Bitcoin not in blockchain ( I am sure, later the situation will be changed). There are no catalysts for altcoins like it was with Etereum that was almost the base of each ICO.

If you look back into the history, you will see that altcoin season start at the end of year and ATH prices are achieved in January.

I think a potential catalyst may simply be BTC prices stalling out. Say BTC falls back to the 9-10K range, Libra gets delayed, nothing major planned for the next several months. Then it's possible folks go back to alts for several months ... not necessarily because they think BTC will remain where it is (or worse) forever, just as a way to eventually accumulate more BTC via trading.

A lot of it depends on whales and where they plan to swim.

We can surely have altcoins season again. The present condition of altcoin price in the market is something that is of great concern to many crypto investors. There is this constant fear from everyone that there may not be a better season of altcoins anymore but I would say that all hope is not lost. If you are believer of the altcoins I think you do not have to be worry about whats happening to altcoins because it's not all the time the altcoins decreased the price. But I will suggested to you just concerned to the altcoins that you have and do a check regularly if the coin is same potential or have improvements since you buy it.  We have 3rd to 4th quarter and we still have chance to rise it.

I think your and a lot of members want to believe in altcoins not that they have a real reasons for that, they just want to see their portfolios green once again.
A lot of members here were posting  threads with tittles tied to new altcoin season but as you stated it has not come yet.

I think that the big movement will start in the end of August or early September, so now we need to continue to buy more altcoins.

The volatility affects my willingness to invest in Ethereum, I love putting coins on my eth wallet but usually lost its value, timing is so important, just buy low and sell high when needed. I think I'm losing hope on alts but will surely invest if I have huge extra money.

I honestly do not know if there will still be an altcoin season but for altcoin holders, like me, have no choice but to hold on to it or sell at loss. As what i have always said from the start, cryptois really always unpredictable, so there is always a great posibility that the altcoin will have a great season again in this year 2019, if bitcoin rise altcoin will surely rises too. The altcoins season will come up again sooner or later. The btc growth that we see now it's just a fake pump, it doesn't looks like a natural market growth. Altcoins price recovery will only after btc price stabilisation. Probably it will happen only in autumn.

You can't have altcoin season as altcoins are still overpriced. You might see from time to time, one out of tens of thousands making 100x, but it would be quite impossible to predict.

Also most of the 2017 alts will probably never recover to make a new ATH. Their teams failed to create value. So it is better to try and find new upcoming projects that are undervalued and have potential. I highly doubt that projects that did thousands of times movements in 2017 will become relevant again as cryptocurrencies.

Right now we have thousands of exchanges offering ridiculous IEO's and cryptocurrencies used by nobody. In 2017 it was like 5 big exchanges and 10 smaller ones that managed to pump every shitcoin.
I remember in cryptopia one day I bought every coin that was valued at 1 sat. They pumped all of them in a few days to 10-100x.

Sadly this isn't happening again. There is no actual interest right now like we had in 2017. We just have Tether pumping now. I don't see a short term pump for altcoins.

Well i think because people are mostly accumulating bitcoin and their selling altcouns to buy bitcoin. I think the altcoin run will happen but not this year maybe in 2020 around January to February.

It's really hard to say at this moment, Eth had a run up with Btc few weeks now but has dumped hard when compared to Btc recent price. The market keeps acting on its own will but let's hope alts season comes this year.

altcoin season will come longer than we hope.cryptocurrency community and investors still focusing on bitcoin.there is no significant developtment on altcoin more over about adoption.only few altcoin that show impressive such as binance coins.

In past month, we have seen lot of great updates on altcoin such as IEO and ETH is going back to the track. Although, ETH this time is really slow and it doesn't even have any movement from now. The only good thing is if IEO can bring something good into surface, then we would see something good at the end of the year.

when bitcoin bullish, people tend to dump altcoin to buy bitcoin and that is exactly why altcoin price fall. However, since many of the altcoins are majorly from the output of the project, I do not expect more pump when the bear market comes. people will generally sell off altcoin to buy bitcoin especially considering the fact that a lot of people now know the potential of bitcoin even at this moment when the ETH is falling very much, you can see bitcoin price fall is not that dropping and besides the projects nowadays are making the price of ETH faint.

I don't understand those sentiments why every time it goes down. A few days back, some of my coins prices fall significantly while BTC price was rising, then I asked my fellow investors for opinion. They said, due to the increased price of BTC, people exchange all altcoins to BTC and cashing them out, so the price is falling. I`m reading this topic and there are more pessimistic comments than the positive ones. I`m sure that altcoin season will come, the same like I`m sure that BTC price will rise. That will happen in the next few years, it`s a lot of time, we saw BTC rising a lot in days. Some altcoins will follow, not all of them. If people have a problem with faith in cryptocurrencies, they should take a look at prices from the beginning of this year and now, for some coins, compare them and you will see that the market is up. Some coins made a nice run!
That leads me to think that pessimist comments in this thread are from people who invested in the wrong ones.

Bitcoin is paired up with most of the cryptocurrencies so if the price of the bitcoins increased and so the price of the altcoins as well you can observe it the way the bitcoins price dumps as well as the litecoin, ethereum and other major altcoins as well.

Definitely need to follow the latest news from the USA. Hearing about the Libra project is a very big event of this year (although I do not approve of Facebook cryptocurrency, privacy and facebook are incompatible things). Very strange things are happening.

Libra was not launch yet so it should not affect the current market.

What is more relevant is to focus an try to analyze what is happening to bitcoin now, and although it cannot deny that Libra have some influence with the price of Bitcoin, and bitcoin influence the altcoins, but it's still too early to speculate and the recent government of the US remark is I think not negative if we look at the big picture.

The major bull run for altcoin I think will come if bitcoin reaches $15k-$20k or more than that. We got some bad weather again for the market and no one is exempted for this. I wouldn't want to discourage an investor that has most altcoin on his portfolio but it should be time for you to start stacking up bitcoin while it's cheaper today. You can recover your big losses with alts through bitcoin once it has recovered again, there will be reports that there are altcoins that has much larger gains than bitcoin but it's the safe place in the market.

I think the price of Altcoin can rise again if Bitcoin price growth reaches its highest price like last 2017, so there will be no doubt and there is no fear of Altcoin pumps as a whole, so be patient now.

This is the hope that every altcoin holders have, when bitcoin moves higher to $15k the growth will get ignited. How real this gonna happen is unknown. From 2017 every year is predicted to be the year of altcoins. Further no year has given good growth, particularly 2018 was termed to be the year of ethereum, to the expectation it served to be the worst with the price falling low continuously. This year the growth of bitcoin over the past few months was good, followed is the growth of altcoins but the difference between the growth level is very large. Current market shows that only few coins shines in the narket so far, and not yet for altcoins, besides bitcoin and ethereum now takes a little bit of slipping price and altcoins remains as it stacks with a low prices. As long as Cryptocurrencies are alive and thriving, anything can happen at anytime, with the previous trends we have seen, one thing is for certain, it cannot be predicted and it will come when it wants to come, so just sit back, relax and wait for it. 8)

One thing I have learnt about this space is that, prediction don't normally work, most times people predict based on what they know while the market will go against everything. So I think it's better trading, etc while allowing the market to play out this will not only keeps us at rest but will also allow us to explore other options or opportunities at hand. Altseason will come though but no one knows when.

I still believe that nothing is increasing and going down continuously. The current Altcoins/BTC pairs are all its bottom, and I believe everyone's patience will be rewarded, the upcoming altcoins season are coming. Of course I mention the legit altcoins.

That should be the crypto slogan -- prediction doesn't work. I do think altcoin season will arrive eventually, but it may come when nobody expects it, and who knows what it'll look like. I don't expect the insane run like 17, but it should at least be better than what we have seen this year.

Altcoins have not been dead, and they have on the way to their latest peaks, that they reached around end of April and early weeks of May. Bitcoin will shows its clearer signals of serious falls and corrections, that are normal because bitcoin has been in its reconsolidation phase. Within that phase, bitcoin will need months to finish, not days, not weeks; and you can imagine if bitcoin won't rise soon, how whales can earn money? Yes, they can earn money from altcoins.

I think that will happen soon this year and altcoin will have a very high chance of increasing prices in the coming time so consider investing in some low-priced coins because it will certainly be the best investment.  Now the market is still undergoing major adjustments and if you know the right time then invest as soon as possible because August will have huge fluctuations in altcoin.

Yeah, of course. Consider investing in altcoin for long term investment. Their market value will for sure increase over time. Research before investing is important.

I also agree with you, for me, Bitcoin has no use anymore except only used for the transaction. And altcoins have more detailed function than that.

That's a big question that nobody could exactly say something 100% sure rather than to have speculations. Though it looks like that where everyone seems to be hopeful and looking forward to having another big day for altcoins and even for the entire market.

This is what happens every day in this market and we have to accept this fact for a long time because the market hasn't started to rise and all altcoin will continue to fall until the end of this year so this year will be very similar to 2018. I think the bear market is coming back and investors don't have much hope in this period so just keep Bitcoin or USDT because this is the safest way to make a profit.

I agree with your words. indeed altcoin is not dead right now, but there is indeed a very serious problem and is making altcoin currently experiencing a sharp decline. so I think we should not assume that altcoin is dead, because in reality it is not

bitcoin is the parent of altcoin, market ups and downs are the norm because of why altcoin prices are declining? Researchers also found that Bitcoin - the top-ranked digital asset - has performed better than almost all cryptocurrency in 2019. Also, institutional investors don't look to other crypto assets aside from Bitcoin.

It seems to me that today altcoin is kept only due to speculation and the owners of the coins themselves.  More than a year ago, many analysts expressed their opinion on the majority of altcoins that will not survive the competition in the cryptocurrency market, because they can not provide anything better and moreover they do not have a real product, thanks to which the coin should be appreciated.

We would get another altcoin season but Ethereum. Ethereum is most likely not going to anywhere for past couple of months because there is nothing happened on Ethereum world unlike on 2018 where bad news was constantly happening. If we can see good news on Ethereum, then sure we will have round 2 then. :^)

All markets are psychology and 'alt season' is the purest psychology of all.

There'll ALWAYS be a bunch of people who feel BTC is too 'expensive' so will seek out short cuts. They'll find alts and will feel like they've uncovered some sort of secret elixir and off they pump until the next ruination.

The question is when this will happen and which coins will live long enough to see that. Both are impossible to predict. I fully expect many, many coins to never recover.

That's the big thing, which coins will survive long enough to see another season. An altcoin season that raises a coin 2x is great, but not if it's already sunk down 10x from where it was over the summer.

And people need to bear in mind that future buyers will not give the slightest fuck about the details of a particular coin. All it is to them is three letters on an exchange with a rising number next to it. They will latch on to whatever is placed in front of them. 

No one's going to care about your pet coin's 'partnerships' or block time.

Those who are bag holding need to be completely unemotional about what they have. If there's profit dump into the frenzy and don't look back. Whatever I have that's worth something will be disposed of.

There is no infinite growth. But and the fall of the endless, too, not case. Season altcoins of course there will be more and not even 1 time. Of course not all altcoins will live up to this. And no one is safe I will not say which ones.
