Brief introduction.
I'm a secondary school teacher in one rural area In my country,  I learnt about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the late 2017 through a media post and since then I have been growing my knowledge, trying to know more about this space. The whole process have been an interesting one and I have developed a special interest for blockchain and cryptocurrency since then due to my love for great technological innovations.
I later joined bounty and airdrop so as to acquire some of this cryptocurrency but my bounty journey have been sideways.

Now to the main topic.

As a young teacher who loves impacting useful knowledge on the younger generations, I want to start a personal project to teach the young students in the secondary school where I work as a teacher about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

I have tried to convince the head/principal of my school to allocate four hours each week for me so as to make this a reality.

Please I need ideas and support on how to make this my dream of helping the younger ones to learn about blockchain and cryptocurrency a success.
If you know where I can get useful materials for this, please I will really appreciate.
I know the journey might be rough but with your ideas it will really go a long way.

If ever the principal will allow you, I think you will only do that by just the vacant time of students and it will be only optional for those students who want to attend in your activity if ever the things that you want to teach are within the syllabus/lesson plan you are assigned to that is difficult to pass, but still, that is good initiation.

There's nothing wrong for teaching other people especially on new technologies such as blockchain or Bitcoin.

My advice when you will start teaching young students, you should first identify your listeners/students their knowledge, how you will deliver your lesson to them because I know they will find it difficult at the start and some are don't have an interest. Since you are a teacher I know you already figure it out and have your solution, I know you can manage it ;)

 Check edx.org there are many free courses on blockchain and crypto currencies from leading universities and organizations. There you will find resources and ideas how to structure your classes.
There are other online free courses available in Internet, I just give info based on my own experience.

You will learn a  lot as well.

First of all, it is commendable that you want spend your free time to learn your students something about blockchain and cryptocurrency. But for start, you should pay attention to some things which are very delicate when it comes to such projects.

You say that you ask head/principal to allow few hours for your lecture, and since you work (probably) in state school, everything you do there must be approved by authorities, and parents of students would have to agree with all the extra-curricular activities.

Besides all that you also have to take responsibility for everything that is going to happen after. Some students will probably try to trade, others will try crypto gambling - some will become victims of hacking, and all of them will at the end blame you for that.

I do not say you have to give up on your idea, but you should consider each step well and pick only those students which really show sincere interest for blockchain technology&cryptocurrency.

Not related to topic, but advice for you - I see you are good in English, but most of your post are only applications for bounty. I suggest you to try participate more in forum discussions, in this way you can also help others.

It's strange that you already asked your principal for a four hour per week mentoring about blockchain when you still do not know where to get resources and, as Lucius pointed out, you don't seem to be that knowledgeable to be imparting knowledge about bitcoin and blockchain yet. No offense meant.

Anyway, in case the principal won't approve your request, you can choose social media as a platform. Maybe create a facebook page or twitter, ask your students to follow you then post videos/articles about crypto. Everytime you meet at school, maybe you can ask them if they understood what you posted and a few minutes discussion.

Connect with your students on social media for sure that it will be much easier to know who really wants to be your audience. We are the same on the profession but I am not still practicing it as I am in-between if I want to continue it or not. By posting some crypto or blockchain-related content on your social media accounts and if ever there's a growing interest by some of your students on those posts maybe you can encourage them now if they want to dig deep on the technology or not. I advise you to start with just a few participants, stories may spread if it's good or not.

Just a suggestion I guess it will be good if it will not be within the school premises if you teach them why not teach them during weekends. And a fair advise it will be good if you really are that knowledgeable to the technology before teaching them.

In some national, like Canada, and Australia, children have been taught about crypto in their early years in their lives. For kids, they are taught to read, B is for Bitcoin, E is for Ethereum, etc; for older children, they are taught and given exercises on blockchain, and they have to manage their own blockchians for their schools, something like this. I read such articles back in 2017 or 2018.

If you want to teach about crypto currencies then you need to teach them about blockchain initially and about decentralization.

I guess teaching them with video illustration works better than blackboard so find the videos on youtube (lot of explained animated videos available) and teach those kids.

As a teacher for secondary school, you don't need to go deep in the technical.

The best guy around to talk about bitcoin and blockchain, in my opinion, is andreas antonopoulos.

He is a very good speaker and writer, he can explains how this works very well, in a way anyone can understand

Watch his speeches, and tell what you heard to the kids. Some of them will really like it.

Before you even plan to go on that route on teaching kids cryptocurrencies I think a much better approach for this is for you to start lessons about financial planning and investing because diving in to the topic about cryptocurrencies would only leave them with more questions than answers. Just think of it this way, if people the same age as ours are having trouble understanding what cryptocurrencies are what more could the clueless kids understand from your lesson? Just my two cents with your current plan.

Exactly! Just teach something to motivate pupils, then they will get motivations enough to dig deeper into technical issues if they feel blockchain technology is interesting and want to do something. The old generations are likely hard to absorb new terms like bitcoin, blockchain, ledger, txhash, and so on, but the younger generations likely easier to accept, and absorb those terms.
Giving them motivation, which in turn will change their attitudes, consequently they will change their practice, by learning more about crypto and blockchain.

Though bitcoin or blockchain technology seems complicated especially to those younger minds, I admire your innovation to integrate this kind of technology and how this bitcoin works. If I were just by your side, I will accompany you to teach those secondary students. But i will just teach those who are willing to learn. It is hard to force them to learn something about new technologies like bitcoin.

However, continue your purpose since the Principal allowed you to do the teachings. Just make it a simple, collect some infographic and videos for them to understand it well.

Since you are a teacher then you should teach your students all about cryptocurrency like what is blockchain, what is bitcoin, what is mining, how to detect a scammer, keeping your security secured and many more basic knowledge about cryptocurrency that you can teach and after that you'll teach them more about those topics which is hard. I'm sure you know that it's good to start teaching the basics first before teaching the topics that is not easy to understand. One last thing, the forum (bitcointalk.org) should not be introduced as money maker forum to avoid having more people who will only be here for bounties which will result in more spamming in the forum.

Yes, actually I personally introduced the principal to Cryptocurrency and made him to understand the importance and benefits of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency in general and he seems to love it.
He has already allocated 45 minutes for the teaching only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Though it's out of official school syllabus.

It is nice to see that thing has already started, and it would be nice that you share some info about your progress in work with students. For me it would be very important to teach students about technology which stands behind Bitcoin, and its practical application in today's society. Most people are today intrigued with bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general just because of possible profit.

That is what we call technical evolution in human society. Back to around more than 20 years ago, using computers and Internet was something unpopular, at least in my nation, and it was likely that only young generations, and middle-ages guys (most are bussinessmen or lecturers) have access to computers and Internet. Progresses were slowly, but since 2004-2005, things changed fastly and dramatically, the brought Internet to most of households, not only in my nation, my local, but also in others nations and other locals too.
I believe that what might happen with blockchain technology and crypto. It will become more popular and more easily to access for people globally in coming years.

I really admire your country, teaching young people the basics of blockchain. Where I live no one talks about blockchain or bitcoin, it seems they are farmers, workers go to work every day and take care of their children. I am really sad when young people only focus on social networking platforms like facebook and twitter, this takes a lot of time.

Sure I will be updating my progress on here, I'm really motivated with the suggestions and support I got on here.
For now I'm compiling the materials, planning of putting it as a handout to be given to the interested students that will be in my class free.
I understand your point perfectly well, one of the things that motivated me to embark on this personal project was that, I said to myself if I had known or was exposed to the Cryptocurrency and  blockchain at the early stage I would have pursued  a career in this field. So I don't want them to be ignorant the way I was.  thanks, that would have been great and make the work easier for me.
I'm already compiling a handout for them which will contain infographs and memes for easy and quick understanding.

There’s a person on my local forum that has been imparting seminars on Blockchain around schools in latam countries. He’s not very active recently, but perhaps he can share some of his experience with you if you PM him.

Most people do not understand this whole concept and hence will not consent to it. If you get four hours a week or even less, you can still teach the kids something. And I'm sure of they start seeing the benefits, everyone will support u as time goes on.

Being a teacher you should not only teach them Blockchain, but also other distributed payment technologies, like IOTA or ZOLD. Blockchain is the biggest at the moment, but not the only one. I believe, kids should understand this.

You should focus on simple/basics of Bitcoin. This will explain everything else like blockchain and cryptos in general.
No need for too deep technical knowledge, just interesting things for young kids like how it can impact world, how it is different (advantages/disadvantages) from FIAT money, similiarities to gold, then simple schematics how it works (if they want know more they will get there :))
