A provably fair crypto betting game would have it's code on Github i.e. open-sourced. That way a developer can easily confirm the authenticity of the claims. Another way would be to use a provably fair tool to check. These tools can be found online.

A friend lost a chunk of his crypto investments to a scammer that claimed his game was provably fair. The owner of the website waited till the website was popular, to accrue more victims. Then he simply closed the website and vanished with thousands of dollars belong to people.

That's another tactic the scammer used. He usually gave winnings to a circle of accounts that were managed by him. When you try to compare the losses of the accounts to wins, the wins would be more. He did this to entice his victims.

On my own opinion I dont really recommend crypto gambling because it is addictive and there is higher risk on that aside from that most of crypto gambling website are scam so better dont get into it.

I think that all crypto betting games are designed to make a profit for the site owner, and therefore the odds are always against you. I would avoid them, and try some other form of gambling where you have a better chance of winning if you use your skill and knowledge.

Yeah, betting generally is addictive. I wouldn't advice anyone to go into betting as well, but at least one should know everything about a platform before risking funds.

That's why it is better to investigate first on the gambling sites first especially the new ones before diving in, yeah there should be a code open source on Github but that alone isn't making them probably fair and there are still possibilities that they might turn to be the filthy one. It is too complicated, too technical and likely exceeds ability of normal, inexperienced people. I think the easiest ways to join only old, famous gambling sites. If someone want to move further, and get fresh experience from new sites, they should choose sites that promoted by famous managers. I never heard the website that the OP mentions. I wonder why his friend choose that site if we have so many legit gambling sites which we can select to play gambling. What we could do if an open source based gambling house starts scamming after years of maintaining reputation? I mean we do start trusting a new services only because of our known persons are not facing any problem with that services. I am not sure about most other people here but this is the simple way, I do start using any new services.

You should let us know the name of the casino that scammed your friend or is this just a made up story? Anyways, if the casino is not provably fair and there is no way you can verify your bets, you shouldn't even play there in the first place. It becomes easily noticeable if fake announcements of winners were made. Too bad your "friend" wasn't paying details on all these signs of scam.

However, the owner shouldn't be left to walk freely. Research should be conducted and he should be pinned down to pay every funds.
His scamming tactics was really different as he waited to gain people's trust as many usually look out for reviews before using a gambling site.

I am very sure most of the players that get scammed understand all this, they know deep down that the site could be illegal but the desire to make money covers their sense of thinking. Just last week, my kid brother was also scammed of over 5btc from one of the new sites. Do I blame the site? The forum members can be paid to speak good deals about the site or due to our emotionality attachment, individual on their own might speak good deals about the site even when they know nothing simply because they're benefiting in one way or the other. Oh, if you are talking about paid reviews, I definitely won't trust that kind, not totally though. If I manage to verify that it is doable then that review could be reliable. Well, you can't blame the people who are working and giving those kinds of reviews for a few BTC because it might be their only choice. I can see clearly from your comment that you have never been scammed. You are only using your friends experience to interpret every other incidence that relates to scam and this is very wrong. A number of us that have been scammed where never greedy or lazy, sometimes we just fall into this trap and then get to accept our fate while we keep on learning on how to identify illegitimate gambling site.

My first scam site sis still very fresh in my memory, this site had existed for like a year prior to when I bet on it and I played with over $2000 dollars, I wasn’t greedy, the money wasn’t so much but it meant a lot as well, the game went on smoothly and then I won, just as at the point I was to withdraw my cash the site crashed, so how have I been greedy in this case? I think bitcointalk is a very good resource for identifying scammers.  Here no one will advertise a fraudulent resource and will identify intruders.  All gambling games that are on the forum have certain ratings and certain reviews from cryptocurrency users.  In addition, I would like to mention the fact that today only gambling where KYC verification is not required is of great interest.

The situation you've been saying here is really possible to be done but sooner or later these kind of shady acts would really be busted out.

We better stick to the ones who have already passed some sort of screening from the old-time gamblers here on this forum. And I believe that the betting sites claiming to be provably fair that have passed through this forum are indeed provably fair. Otherwise, they will not even come out of here unscathed. A red tag with a warning will surely be attached to them.

You are right all gamblers will have to play with full of their capacity and they should give their best no matter that what the game is.
