Forexcoin have moved to the X11. To be fair to early adopters since cost of mining with scrypt is higher than cost of mining with x11 total amount of Forexcoin available via POW will be adjusted to 5,600,000,000, rewards will be adjusted to 2,500 per block halving every 200,000 blocks.

Until further notice keep coins you are mining in new QT wallets or hashfasterpool. If you bough some coins recently before switchover kindly leave them in exchange wallet. We will list exchanges and pools that have upgraded to X11 here.

Upgrade how to

1. Delete existing ./forexcoin directory. Keep old wallet.dat if u were late for Bittex swap. In Windows you can enter %appdata% into the Windows search box. In OSX its in the /Library...

2. Download Windows or OSX wallet or compile coin in Linux.

3. Create forexcoin.conf with at least rcpuser=username rpcpassword=password

4. Start the wallet and have fun.

Now the Bittrex scrypt wallet is closed. To swap coins you will have to keep your wallet.dat with the old *eligible coins.  

We are going to accept old coins on coming Monday. Futher details are to be announced on the weekend.

Please confirm that this coin has the CoinD GetBalance "" functionality to display confirmed + unconfirmed coins built in. This is a standard function with all properly developed coins. Alot of new coins released do not have this standard feature built into the coind code and causes a number of issues with web pools using MPOS and subsquently payouts for miners.

There is a developer for hire going around making coins from a disfunctional source.

getbalance"" is a standard forexcoind api call (command line command) and yes it does work. I just double checked via mining some blocks :) The main codebase of Forexcoin is similar to latest Litecoin codebase plus some extras to deal with rapid hash increase decrease(well perhaps difficulty and price just goes up up up :) ) scenario

Coinbase maturity its same as LTC blocks wise.

Before the ANN I run Forexcoin on both testnet and realnet using Windows, Linux and OSX rigs. Rapid increase and decrease in hash rate was simulated and code responded well. Transactions works smoothly.

Main nodes run on aws which allows to run fairly large and fast servers and adjust them as per workload (for example favorable press), ensuring excellent first time connectivity. New nodes can be easily added via dns function.

IRC channels including development channel and over the counter channel trading have been setup :)

1. Name - unlike for example peercoin(cool coin imo) where some random person filed copyright for it, forex is common word hence 0 copyright, regulate stuff.

2. Developers are keen to promote this coin to the actual retailers plus contact the media.

3. The idea to develop steady instead of 6 days pump and forget it :) This way coin is worth more and its more fun.

4. Promoting local exchangers on the site soon - means folks can make nice extra cash from providing buy/sell service.

5. Encouraging people to launch agile crowd soursing platform for crypto related projects.

6. Since plan is to add value daily instead of 1 large scoop of it - there is higher chance of Forexcoin become solid crypto currency :)

It has a catchy name, I must admit.

Platorin some people drive BMW some prefer Ford and some Toyota :) There are people for example who mine LTC even its not top profitability wise at the moment :) Its not like everyone got to send all they hash power to the Forexcoin yet people who like to experiment, having fun can send some hash over and also actively participate in this movement.

Yes. We are preparing to add new code that will make Forexcoin even more resilent. Once its done we plan to start marketing to the Asian and Russian markets.

We might talk to some Forex brokers soon with a view to add Forexcoin as a funding method - at very least can generate them some extra clients :)

Also gradually building audience on the facebook and reddit. Once some traders decide to play with the Forexcoin volume can go up substantially.

And of course you are free to promote Forexcoin too.

X11 simulation went fine. Perhaps adding it later provided there is wider Forexcoin community members interest.


Also there a merchants in USA and UK who have expressed an interest in accepting forexcoin.

Kindly indicate which merchants do you think will fit best with the Forexcoin. General merchandise, Sport supplements, Camping gear, electronics, something else.

At the moment exchange volume both supply and demand is growing however yet to become large enough to accomodate say 6,000 usd daily ecommerce volume.

We can talk to them to sell certain range goods for the Forexcoin only as an experiment and see how it goes from there. Merchants got to be able to sell Forexcoin into usd or gbp. If for example laptop is priced at 1 forexcoin 0.10 USD they got be able to sell coins at such price. I have got some ideas how to archive  it.

Also we got plans regarding community growth. And I have paid for some new graphics to enhance ANN thread. Can also provide new QT.

Alot depends on the current community aka you. If most just mine to hoard without actively participating on forum here - we got ways to shake you off in a many innovative ways :D So people who mined a lot start helping :)

We plan to launch new simple widely used service for a forex and perhaps even shares, options etc traders. Initially accepting payment in usd and when Forexcoin volume becomes bigger offering discount for paying in the Forexcoins.

BTC-E its possible when Forexcoin gains wider recognition :) Short term idea - Poloniex.

Marketing.

There is a large project to create 3rd party crypto coins explorer for most coins. I think Forexcoin should be added. This way everyone can see it was mined steadily with 0 instamine at the start :) Also once again people who are willing to write PR articles PM :) We also talked to one exchange and might run 0% trade Forexcoin promo for 1 day.

Future road map.

After block 100,000 gradually port coin to X11. After 300,000th block POS can be added too. This way it becomes long term POW/POS coin with a useful services infrastructure.

btc-e, are you kidding?

Smiling yet I mean it. Forexcoin is an easy to market name (once there is larger team at it). Once we can add services brand recognition is likely to rise.  Forex can also mean international trade aka crypto currency used in eCommerce. There are many possibilities. Also alot depends on forexcoiners interest and willingness to participate.

Is BTC-E guaranteed? No. Can Forexcoin be added to BTC-E? Yes. If you read roadmap you see its a long term coin. And I said at the start its also a coin for people who really like crypto currencies. You want some cool features added? Post requests here :) And we can see what we can do.

the pair btc-frx disappeared on bittrex. Die coin? ???

BTC pair was temporary removed on Bittrex due to its inactivity. Once price climbs over 40 litoshi it can be re added.

Forexcoin is present on many exchanges both in BTC and LTC markets and even have an USD pair :) So plenty of ways to trade.

Forexcoin is approaching its 100,000th Block. It will be moved to X11 soon. There will be giveaway to celebrate. Details will be announced on Twitter.

Forexcoin is moving to X11 this week. To be fair to early adopters since cost of mining with scrypt is higher than cost of mining with x11 total amount of Forexcoin available via POW will be reduced. Probably to 6,000,000,000. Exact amount will be announced before X11 move.

We need the exposure for this coin, even though technically it's not a launch.

Npks - Old coins will be worth more as there are going to be less coins in total.

Sniggly - Polish ANN thread yes. Open new depends. I have realised it can take long time to write new code that can support both scrypt and X11. Most likely we are going to premine X11 amount equal to the total of scrypt coins and then arrange a swap 1:1 via exchange. Its important to keep this thread open imo and keep both old and new blocks explorers. I will think about your suggestion.

Jowo88 - there will be proper announcement with exact details - once its all ready. There will be a period during which people can safely exchange coins via one of exchanges for x11 version.

All coins are safe. Maybe we can prepare copy of ANN in Chinese and Russian.

I have made new win wallet for X11, OSX is coming soon too, then new block explorer, start exchange, update ANN. Its coming along nicely.

After talking to some forexcoin miners and investors I have decided to open new ANN thread once we are are ready to launch.

I am going through todo list to ensure we have got everything done. Wallets will be posted before X11 launch.

Exchange is automatic. You deposit coins to bittrex, they become obsolete and you get new shiny X11 coins.

Tosha - We have to receive confirmation from Exchanges that their have upgraded their wallets. Everyone of course can send coins to the new X11 wallets provided or keep them hashfaster pool.

Darius as per pre announced migration plan, people were adviced to send all their coins before coin approaches block 120,000 to bittrex so later they can receive same amount in X11 coins.

Now those who for some reason haven't done so - state it here or pm. We will look into it.

Hi, i have a little probleme. i have update my wallet, and now all my coins are unconfirmed. What now?

For a start you need to save wallet.dat.
1. After that to remove all %\AppData\Roaming\Forexcoin\folder
2. To start an old wallet, to close it and to return wallet.dat on the place.
3. To start again a wallet and to wait for synchronization. To bring coins to the exchange.
4. To save wallet.dat and to remove again the %\AppData\Roaming\Forexcoin\folder
5. To establish a new wallet, to start it, to close, return wallet.dat to again created %\AppData\Roaming\Forexcoin\folder

Excuse for language, I write through an online translator.

We got btc pair on c-cex and all crypt. They are yet to switch to X11. Once price is above 0.00000060 LTC Forexcoin can be re added to the btc market on bittrex..

Also feel free to suggest some Chinese exchanges.

Bittrex is nearly ready with the swap. I will announce it once its ready.

Now the Bittrex scrypt wallet is closed. To swap coins you will have to send your wallet.dat with the old coins and password if any to confirm your ownership and your new X11 address. Email to where you can send claims and extra swap' period length are going to be announced soon. If we will come up with better idea for the late swap it will be announced here.

There might be some coins left. I think perhaps is it best is to prepare a large giveaway. We are not allowed to hold it here directly yet we are allowed to advertise it here and do it on Twitter, Facebook, etc.
