Title: Should move to BTC?
Post by: Lifes on August 08, 2019, 12:38:49 PM
Hi guys ! Thats a question i do to myself very often , and it always looks like the right answer. My main coin for now its XRP (like 3000) and a very few BTC (0.005).

I hold XRP from long time but i see BTC price raise a lot and XRP don't do much. They have a consolidated project but no matters what BTC price its still mandatory.

So the question is , should i sold like 2500XRP and buy BTC when this one have a price drop?

I know its something i had to decide myself , just looking for what you guys think.
Thanks!

There are two things that you should do. Its either to hold your xrp or sell it in exchange to bitcoin. Lets us discuss the first option.
1. Holding your xrp (dont sell)
If you are going to sell your xrp and eventually the price went up you will just regret it. As of this time if we are going to make a chart analysis xrp will not have an extreme bearish trend in the coming months thus its safe just to wait for it to go bullish.
2. Selling Xrp
If you sell xrp make sure that when you sell it in exchange to bitcoin you must only sell half of it or less. In this option if xrp goes up then you win and if bitcoin goes up you will still win. If one of them does not increase in value but the other one will goes up.

I will not be saying which one you will choose but Im saying its good that you read it at least you will have some idea on what to do.

I too suggest keeping hold of xrp. There is a big controversy stating xrp to be the manipulated asset. From my understanding whether it is a manipulated asset or centralized doesn't bother the growth. Surely there will be growth with xrp, and you could continue holding it than selling for bitcoin as there is no mutual growth with bitcoin which gets with a very small value in terms of bitcoin for the 3000xrp.

that is not a question that you should ask others. it is your money and we are not your financial advisor obligated to give you good advice. if you want my views, i would never touch a centralized altcoin such as XRP at any cost. i believe they shouldn't even exist in this market and we, as a community that started a decentralized market, should put an end to these coins.

profit-wise, shitcoins like ripple only get short lived pumps. so even if you were so interested in making a profit you should only get involved during the pumps not after they ended!

Ask yourself the question. Why do your hold XRP in the first place? And why did you allocate majority of your funds on XRP instead of BTC? I assume you've done your research so there must be a reason why your funds are allocated that way.

Also, if you bought XRP because you think it will rise to the price levels of bitcoin, look up the total supply of XRP.

You have been holding that ripple for long time?dont you know that the XRP price got mooning last year?and yet you keep on holding that?you missed half of your chance with that mate and you will regret for lifetime

But having that said maybe better that you are thinking transferring to bitcoin because that’s the best decision you’ll ever had these years as I see ripple will keep silence agin for long time

You are in a Bitcoin specialized forum you should expect to get biased answers here. But to be honest XRP is shit and I don't like the way they partner up with companies and still end up doing nothing , it really went all downhill once it lost 90% of its value. At least when you have Bitcoin you know it will be a big mover since it still the king of the market and still the most dominant cryptocurrency up to now. You will have a cryptocurrency that is the first mover in the market.

I have opposed XRP ever since its creation. And that coin looks very shady for me. What concerns me the most is the fact that a few of the promoters hold the majority of the XRP tokens in circulation. Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb owns more than 5 billion tokens each, and in total all of the co-founders hold more than 20 billion tokens. On top of that, another 9 billion is either directly or indirectly held by the Ripple Foundation. Now remember that only some 42 billion XRP tokens are in circulation.

OP said XRP "have a consolidated project" so perhaps he was attracted to it because he saw that XRP has a real-world use case?

Anyways, my advice to you OP would be to sell all your centralized bankers shitcoins bags and completely shift to BTC. It's not too late to do so, we're getting close to the halving so you better get your BTC stash ready to hodl before the price takes off towards a new ATH.

Btw, OP, looking at your post history, you were very pro-altcoin, then you were gone for over a year from the forum and now you came back today asking whether you should sell your xrp or not...Did you have like an epiphany or something while you were gone? genuinely curious (:

If you have bought at really high price then I think it'd be better to wait for XRP to pump, It will go up someday and then get out and be 100% in BTC. When Bitcoin dominance falls, Altcoins will be pumped, We just don't know when's that gonna happen.

I don't know if you've heard but Ripple has been selling XRP for a while. They are going to slow down their level of sales but they will still sell, this means that they will put pressure on XRP in a downward manner.

Your best bet is to hold btc until they stop with the selling.

Title: Re: Should move to BTC?

@21crypto is right at the moment xrp is being sold on a large scale meaning there is little buying power to shot this coin up but in this case since  you want to cross over to btc you need to consider how much you invested to acquire the current stash and if there is no loss on your side sell some of those coins incase those coins pump in the future and you don't want to miss out on such.
Good luck :)

Not our money so the decision will still depend on your take. Do you think its still worth it for you to wait for the XRP comeback? I used to suggest people to buy bitcoin no matter what how low it was before and now that suggestion is resulting positively.

Are you in loss with XRP now? if you are I suggest keeping it and buy bitcoin with your spare and I think that's a better thing for you to do. But if you are okay selling it now for btc, do it without regrets.

When bitcoin rises, the altcoins are also rising except when they lose value based on bitcoin. So when bitcoin and the altcoin compared to bitcoin is also rising, you get even more profit.

I would just do 50/50 of your holdings

If you think that XRP is till going to get a better price in the near future, then only self half of your XRP for bitcoins. I believe that we can still hit $15k this year so it's still not late to use that to buy BTC. I do agree with most people here that it is quite a shady centralized coin. I would rather just invest in btc and ride through the troughs and crests.

It's your money so the final decision is still yours.

XRP is a good coin, but let us be practical on how is the BTC price is going compare to the potential of the XRP. In my personal opinion you can go for BTC this time the price ang going well so you should start holding that coin as early as today.

Reading suggestions might give you confusion. We have different preferences and approach here.

What's the goal in the first place? To increase XRP or to accumulate BTCs?

XRP isn't part of my portfolio list. I'm just using it to take advantage of the cheap withdrawal fees compare by using BTC. You now know what's my response to your question.

So for you its a matter of beliefs. Then why you didn't split in two halves? I don't trust XRP but if you think that could rise leave 1500 there and put the other 1500 in bitcoin.

Perhaps xrp will look more like a regular fiat overtime ("controlled" inflation), given its main backers. Diversify is a wise answer, in this case it "halves" your potential earnings, but it also halves your potential loses. Of course, you could have automated trading taking care of that (ie. stop loss etc).

Thanks for all your opinions guys, its interesting to read different ways to see this, some of your replies match with my thoughts. About why i bought XRP in first place? Was my first coin when i enter onto crypto , and somehow i feel it to be safe , since it had real world usage and work with important companies , that make me confident. Also i thought if government ban crypto XRP its "safe" because work with banks , its less shady than BTC.

About your question @tomahawk9 , lately i was off from all kind of forums / social media due to a little healthy problem and changes that i made on my life, i still watch coinmarketcap sometimes and read some XRP news.I realize just no matter what happend if BTC its not performing well altcoins do nothing. Even with big good news BTC its so mandatory , i thought that could change over the years but seems it won't , thats one reason that put me on the path to change onto BTC.

Cheers!

If you already lost more than %90 of your wealth against btc, hard to decide.

At these rates, you would be giving away your shitcoins for free. To be honest, they ain't worth jackshit in the first place but that's not important. You bought them to make profits.

If you feel depressed now, it means you bought more shitcoins than you should have.

BTC is the only coin which matters.

BTC is the mother of Crypto currency; so crypto investors should have at least 40% of BTC based on their (Crypto) portfolio! AltCoins are struggling from a long-long time; as a result, investors losing their interest on Alt-coins gradually!

Just search on the internet about what happened to XRP why the price is not boosting as Bitcoin did and you will see the real reason. You should have moved to Bitcoin since it was on a bearish trend when the price was still at $3200. It's not yet too late to switch to Bitcoin though since the price is not yet too close to the last ATH and i am expecting we would see a new ATH next year.

My main coin for now its XRP (like 3000) and a very few BTC (0.005).

You have already had both BTC and XRP. Actually, those are good coins and you have done good strategy to diversify your assets. So, if you think BTC is more profitable for now, you just need to sell some of your XRP. No need to sell all your XRP. There will be a time for a pump or the raise of XRP price. If you hold XRP for the long term, just keep it till the next rising.

I highly suggest that you sell 50% of your XRP and convert it to bitcoins.

Bitcoin, the reigning and dominant cryptocurrency in the market, can yield large amounts of income in the right timing and price. Its high volatility can also make someone an unexpected millionaire in a relatively short amount of time.
In your case, 2500 XRP can be converted to around ~0.065 btcs ($800). Since there has been continuous increase on the price of bitcoins, I suggest that you do it now while the price is in the upward trend.

useless altcoins like XRP are always bad investments because they have no future and their price is always artificial. what you read in the news is not banks, etc using XRP, but they are using Ripple that is the technology. it is the same thing as saying Facebook is using bitcoin whereas it is just using the bitcoin technology to create their own shitcoin. and that is what these banks have been doing.

Unless you are in to hold Ripple for a very long term i don't see much reason for you to hold Ripple whiles BTC is dominating the market with its frequent and short bull runs. I would admonish to sell your holdings of XRP and add it to your existing bitcoins to increase your holdings in Bitcoin.

1. Holding your xrp (dont sell)
If you are going to sell your xrp and eventually the price went up you will just regret it.

If we keep looking at moves that could make us regret, then, we wouldn't make any successful attempt as far as bitcoin is concern because it is not predictable.

So the question is , should i sold like 2500XRP and buy BTC

At any time, I consider btc above Xrp.

Or you can consider some IEO coins just listed in binance, they are doing fine too.

So what's your final decision now after hearing most of the suggestion of the people here? Are you going to sell your XRP and move it to btc or you will keep it and buy bitcoin from your spare or few portion of your savings?

U are in best position to decide which step forward as no advice here will make you what you desire, taking action by oneself is the main thing that you need to conquer in crypto and that will keep you going and smooth in decision making when trade but if you depend on someone decision it will be hard for you to really make it in crypto so I will say both are good to have but right now btc is taking the street of crypto and that makes it kings but wit hold in xrp it will definitely pay off in future.

I see bitcoin as the strongest cryptocurrency on the market. It' s always advisable to keep majority of your holdings in bitcoin. Looking at the trends in years, bitcoin has always proven itself to be worthy of holding. There is a high probability that you can easily make profits on bitcoin than any other cryptocurrency such as XRP.

This posts confirm me what i already think. Some of the people who answer in this posts gives wonderful suggestions , so very grateful to all of you that answer with constructive arguments (not saying BTC its god because yes like others)

So i am planning to sell 60% of my XRP to buy BTC and also use a part of my savings to buy BTC. That way i will have a nice amount of BTC and don't lost all the XRP , you know just in case it pops up.

So now the question its not "if" anymore its "when" , i will try to wait some time to see if XRP price go up to something like 0,40 then sold it for fiat , and after when BTC falls a little bit buy it.

Thanks for the answers guys ^^

maybe if you want a big profit I think now you can continue to switch to BTC. because right now xrp might have potential but to get a high price still requires a long process. and it can't be confirmed in the near future. so that's the choice you have to make

BTC is and will be the 1st coin for some time, so the whole market will be green if BTC is green
It's something to think, but with alts, it's easier to have 2x, 10x you money invested

What I do?
I have a diversifeid portfolio, but always having more BTC, and 4 more coins, it's like 60% BTC and 40% alts

You could diversify to, buy more BTC but hold some XRP if you believe in this coin

The coin that you already mentioned are potential,  you need a good and fair decision about this. Yes the price of the bitcoin rise more than the XRP but maybe someday that coin will rise and you get profit if you hold still that.  So the best option is use the other money if you really have to buy bitcoin instead of selling it. But if you do not have a choice just do what ever you want.

I could only suggest you hold XRP. I see you already hold it for a long time ago, and it doesn't make a matter if you still hold it until the XRP price can increase because I see XRP have a potential to rise back. XRP is not growing is because bitcoin price is not growing too, and we still on the bear market so far. But we have a big chance to see the bull run will come after this, so I think you could hold it for more. But if you cannot hold it any longer, you can sell it right now, and buy bitcoin. The final decision will be yours.

If you ask my opinion, just convert it into BTC because I have earn more than you can earn with XRP !

XRP is not good now it cannot even get to its normal price like $0.4 last time. today the price is below expectation and possibly it will go lower than today. I can't see a chance that it will go up again in someway XRP are like ETH nowadays no one can tell us if it's going up again tomorrow or not.

Unlike bitcoin the price still interesting there are lots of possibilities that it will go to $13k by the end of this year not to mention Bitcoin is more popular than before, unlike the other coins its fans are brutally leaving them on this harsh market season.

ive seen some threads that have the same question as you but my always advice that i give to them including on you is that you should never sold the existing coins you have just because you wanted to buy other coins because that wont make sense at all  . you cant earn that much if you do that or worst you can only loose more  .  better if you can only keep the other coins that you have and use your own money ( the fiat one ) to buy btc  or any other cryptos that you want as addition to your portfolio .

Just hold your xrp because a lot of big companies and banks already implement xrp as their payment option, it will take sometime but when bullrun starts with xrp your 3000 holdings will give you good profit in the long run. Just be patient and wait for the right time to sell.

If you want my subjective opinion, XRP is a shitcoin. It became popular as a hedge for BTC investors, but IMO that's all it was and all it's ever going to be.
Why did you buy XRP in the first place and not BTC? XRP is a centralized coin, as opposed to BTC, and something banks and institutions were supposed to prefer for payment purposes. It was to be a kind of crypto paypal, cheaper and faster, but the one that was going to work out only if other centralized cryptos don't. With all the talk about Libra XRP lost a large portion of its value and will keep losing as new stablecoins emerge.
That said, I would keep my BTC to XRP ratio at 50% at the very least. If you are at 95% XRP right now you're doing it wrong.

sometimes some of our thoughts become rushed when we see the current situation. Well, I am also aware that XRP has not shown a very good development this year. I might be waiting for a slightly higher price than now. however, XRP will definitely recover when bitcoin returns. Yeah, but if you are impatient with that, I don't think exchanging XRP for bitcoin is a bad idea.

Which one does it look profitable? Not keeping the doubt that Bitcoin did well and all say it was the most profitable coin in the market. No wonder that XRP never shows big pumps just because it is a decentralized platform. No matter how long you keep your XRP in your wallet never expect that you will be much profitable than of holding BTC. I have to say that, don't lose your opportunity with Bitcoin and take this chance rather than to keep XRP.

Since your main coin is xrp, it means you trust it very well. I think the best answer will come from you. It's your asset afterall. You can try selling your xrp to buy btc but not to the point you'll sell everything since as what you've said it's your main. But practically speaking, bitcoin is doing well compare to xrp so should also consider it.

Don't sell your XRP right now if you believe that coin can increase in the next months or next year. You should hold XRP for more because who knows, XRP price can be back to the higher rate. We don't know what will happen with XRP in the future, but I think it could be one of the potential coins in the market which can give you a big profit again. Maybe you can buy more XRP so you can have a bigger amount of XRP and it's ready to sell at a higher price.

Thanks!

It all depends on you, if you have been holding xrp for a long time and feel it is currently down, it's a fact that bitcoin is also experiencing the same thing. if you move it also to btc it will not affect anything because everything is down right now. with the token that you have, I hope it is still placed in xrp, sure xrp will move back up like btc.

XRP or altcoin usually are riskier than bitcoin because you can see most altcoin's price movement are extreme

If you ask my opinion, just convert it into BTC because I have earn more than you can earn with XRP !
I have a little story if we talk about XRP, I have been working in new company in my country and some people know I'm crypto user so as they told me about their experiences when investing on cryptocurrency especially Ripple at 2017 ago. One of them took a decision to invest on XRP which is she buys on $1 if I'm not mistaken, and she just happy when her money has trippled and she was greedy until she took a decision to hold for long term.

But now she is regreting just because her money has been burning a lot and there is no way to do unles she keeps them on the wallet. I have a conclusion for this point, I know XRP has a potential to stay longer on crypto market but I doubt its price will goes up again and even I believe the ATH last year will never touch again. Yeah, I will agree with you to choose bitcoin rather than XRP even most altcoin who have said by many people that the altcoin is have potential.

XRP is good if you use it for transactions, as here, everything will be faster and cheaper. I do not think that Ripple can be a very good investment now. Bitcoin is definitely the only one cryptocurrency, which will always control the market, and which has much more chances to grow. I would not quite of all Ripple tokens, but at least 70-80% of them should be exchanged for BTC.

better sell off all your ripple because it will soon dump more. i did advise to get more BTC If you can and sell off your ripple because ripple is not worth holding. it remains on a stable price and might even go down more.

Sell half for btc if you are that worried.

It is usually better to stick with what you originally thought of and not to doubt yourself as much though.

Investment ideas, I'll go with Bitcoin as my assets like once you seen a good dip where your xrp value comes along better to trade it up and hold more btc, what we encountering right now guide us to choose the right assets to hold, maybe the chance between this two options both for long and short periods of holding will favor Bitcoin to have a much higher chance to be profitable.

Why you in a campaign that doesn't pay you then?

XRP is not really making a good price increase in the market unlike bitcoin that is always dominating the market because even if its price drops a little, it will surely rise up again in the next days or months. Do not be doubtful with bitcoin since it's always the king of crypto market, you will definitely make good profits from it particularly if bull run will occur at the end of the year or early next year.

Why not sell the half XRP and exchange it to bitcoin so that if xrp price goes up you still have in your wallet. Just hold the remaing xrp and wait the time it rise up. The half one ,invest in bitcoin when price drop down. Bitcoin market is keep on increasing and if you know how to trade with patience ,for sure you will gain profit.

By looking at the market in the last few months that Bitcoin is very dominating. I had to buy some coins like BCD, ETH, and LTC because of the rising Bitcoin price. Some of the coins that I bought will increase in price, but the coin rises not high.

I decided to move to Bitcoin and the results were pretty good. Until now I'm still trading Bitcoin, although I sometimes get lost. Bitcoin and Altcoin are very difficult to predict.

It's a good choice to finally move to bitcoin because it won't really frustrate you in the end. Make the most of your portfolio as the biggest share in bitcoin because this will really give you huge profits when the time comes that bitcoin price will be in its peak again. Other coins might be profitable too but they won't give you bigger profits like bitcoin do.

I think the action to sell XRP to BTC is the right thing because there is a petition on Twitter.
The petition noted that Ripple continued to dump billions of XRPs into the market, causing XRP prices to fall. In addition, the petition noted that the XRP community believed in crypto coins and that Ripple should stop throwing coins to the market.

the current situation to trade Bitcoin is very profitable because you can get a few dollars in a few days time and many traders have switched to Bitcoin. Altcoin is also good but not for this year, of course I agree the best choice now to invest is Bitcoin.

But if he sells XRP right now, he will not make a profit, but he might get a lose. XRP still at a low price and I think he needs to be patient for more until the XRP price can increase higher so at least, he can make a profit. But if he cannot be patient, then everything will be up to him. If I were him, I would still hold XRP for this year because I am sure that XRP can increase higher and who knows, after this cycle, XRP can be back to 12k satoshi or even more.

From now, you can tell the future of xrp, and I must confess to you that I do not have much reliance on xrp because I have not really seen its use case. Many people that held xrp either earned it or probably worked for it, but not many people are so much keen about buying ripple for anything, and you know that the only thing that will drive the price of a coin to its peak is demands, how many demands does ripple get from the market on a daily basis?

And if you look at ripple, not many people really like it, so since his option was between ripple and btc, I would have advised him to go for  BTC instead, I mean he should just sell his coins of ripple for btc, and then hold it till bitcoin reaches like $18000 and then sell back to probably buy ripple again if he so much believes in it because I don’t see ripple growing before bitcoin reaches $18000.

You can buy Bitcoin now and hold it for long term. The Bitcoin price may touch above $20000 by end of this year. You can buy bitcoins with ripple at best rates (https://coinswitch.co/coins/ripple/ripple-to-bitcoin) at leading exchanges like Binance, Coinswitch, Changelly, Hitbtc etc.

its verry volatile yes and thats why its hard to decide if what to do on this situation . he can wait for a while when the value becomes a bit stable to see if where the price is heading .

So it's obviously Bitcoin is more popular between them all and time goes it will be more popular and many store in the future will consider bitcoin as a payment for their product. In that way, bitcoin price will go up and it really² go up, so don't afraid of it just go Bitcoin.

XRP is also a promising altcoin just like the other popular altcoins that have experienced a down trend in recent times but you can still hodl on a  long term basis. You never know what can happen in the next moment when it comes to crypto so keep believing in XRP and expect the best. The final decision is yours to make just like you stated.

the decision is yours, XRP is likely to enter the following year at a price between $ 0.35 and $ 0.40. The coin has a value of $ 0.367693 per unit. According to many parties, Ripple and XRP have done many things to prepare the basis for future growth this year. Whatever really happens, XRP remains a coin with a lot of potential, and will surely survived any unfriendly conditions due to its pure use and potential to increase money transfers around the world.

Hey
I think you should understand that the fact that Bitcoins price goes down as fast as it rises up and therefore very often you will find price that is even below the predicted average ...it's true that you can make more profit but it is also true that you will also loose more .
You should actually participate in Bitcoin only when you will actively participate in trading .
Long term holding is also a good option but it needs a lot of patience and time .
The choice is yours .

First is from what do you believe in crypto?the centralized or decentralized?because these 2 can already answer your question and don’t need to bother asking

Ripple (XRP) did a great job to take the number 3 spot in position and has large capitalization, but being centralized currency it’s harder for this coin the have support from crypto community.

While the decentralized currencies like Bitcoin has all the qualification to be trusted If you are a true cryptonians...
So the answer is Yes Sell your XRP and convert into Bitcoin

They were saying that for years and the coin was supposed to grow every year. Instead it's losing value every year.

It used to be worth 3 dollars and now it's worth 0.3. Bitcoin lost half of its value from 20 thousand to 10 thousand and XRP is now worth 1/6 of its peak value. If you invested in bitcoin 1000 dollars in the top you still should have about 490 and if you did the same with XRP you only have 150 left. This is a disaster. I wonder who is still holding this bag.

I don't think you're asking for an opinion but you're looking for a very good reason to sell or hold your xrp. And I don't think it's a sell or hold problem, but what matters is how you will behave if you sell or hold your xrp. Because as I know, in the world of cryptocurrency (or wherever you live), you won't be able to develop for the better if you regret your own decision. so I suggest to you, whatever your choice (sell or hold) you must accept it. Maybe a little advice from me before you sell or hold, i think you should find the latest information about xrp ;)

Although bitcoin is or of the big asset today since it is the most popular and most expensive cryptocurrency, and XRP is also a promising alternative coin just like the other popular altcoins that have experienced a down trend in recent times. It is up to you on how your plan gonna be, since hodl is like rolling a dice you do not know if the next face will be a higher or a lower number, just like in holding cryptos can be bumped up or fall down it's price.

Cryptocurrency investment is not really about the rate at which market prices change but its basically about how well you understand the pattern at which these prices change and having good plans and strategies. You can decide to sell your xrp for Bitcoin but if you don't a specific plan regarding this investment, you might end up losing some percentage of your  investment capital. I think you should first try to have a plan and study the patterns in the change in the market prices of both bitcoin and xrp.

If you invested into XRP, there must have been a reason behind it. XRP and Bitcoin are both long term investments that require some amount of patience, really the question you have to ask yourself is which one you believe has the ability to increase in value. Many may argue that Bitcoin is the only viable cryptocurrency due to its dominance in the industry, however, emerging technologies are clearly showing the flaws of Bitcoin and provide solutions for these.

This is a decision that only you can make, every person here has their own agenda and beliefs on what will occur in the future, but no one really knows.

XRP experienced very slow developments. If you're from a few months ago moving your coins to Bitcoin, I think you've made a lot of profit. By looking at the market conditions Bitcoin is dominating. Even with the dominance of Bitcoin makes the price of all the altcoins down and experiencing very slow growth.

Try now go to the market and decide to buy Bitcoin. I guess you'll benefit, but you use a short-term trading strategy.

The thing is you don't have to make any tough choice if your investment is as low as 2500XRP . Thing is BTC might hsve increased pretty much in price than XRP but this market is formulated in a way that BTC has it's own direction and the rest of the market(all altcoins) follow that trend setup by BTC. When BTC is going up alts are crashed because their dollar value remain same but btc count decrease. While if btc goes down then the sat value of alts also goes down. Alts are able to survive & increase only in one situation which is when btc is stable. So my opinion for you is shift your rides on the situation of btc. If its bullish get a ride on btc and if it's sideways buy xrp.

If in your portfolio is predominantly XRP, then you have studied this project and believe in its future. If Bitcoin has risen in price, but your coin is not, then just now is not her time. However, this does not mean that you need to sell all XRP coins and buy more expensive Bitcoin. This is called haphazard trading, which often leads to losses. You should hold your coin and just wait for its time. A successful investor is someone who knows how to wait.

The altcoin season has failed. I don’t believe in XRP without losing sight of a large number of successful Ripple deals. I think it's worth it to buy Bitcoin during a bear market in order to have a profit in the future even you will lose some money selling XRP.

This really means your top coin is XRP because in the first place you invested in xrp rather than btc. Why not decide for yourself though? And give time yourself to search which is better to invest in. Bitcoin has dominance in the market, on my point I always invest more on btc than any other altcoin.

There is no doubt that XRP is a good coin, it's just that development for this year is not so good. actually, we are in the same position, it's just that I hold more ethereum than bitcoin. in this position, I don't sell the ETH that I have (think of it with your XRP), but, in the future, I don't collect ETH anymore, but I have to collect bitcoin. I don't sell my ETH because I believe that the price of ETH has great potential, like bitcoin.

if you believe that XRP has great potential like I believe in ETH, you better hold it in. however, from what I have seen, XRP has not had such a good development this year, unlike ETH. so if I were you, maybe I would sell the XRP I have for bitcoin. all decisions are yours.

Depending on the price where you bought your XRP.If you can profit by selling it and converting to BTC then why not right? But for me personally I will be patient and wait for the XRP pump and sell it the right time. You can profit more on XRP if you bought at a good price and you can be alot comfortable compared to the highly volatile bitcoin. If you decided to move to BTC then I advice you not to go all in because for me BTC is alot riskier than XRP.

I was in August also bought XRP but no major changes and decline occurred. I decided to move to Bitcoin and slowly start earning profits. Bitcoin is still very dominating and when Bitcoin is red it's time to buy it. But when the price back to the top can be directly sold. The price changes that occur may not last long so you should also be able to play fast.

But if you have high patience, your better XRP coin lasts till the end of the year. Perhaps at the end of the year, the Altcoin season will arrive.

Ripple has a growing community also as Bitcoin but the difference between them is that; Bitcoin has a bigger community and being a decentralized platform. These attribute draw many potential investors into invest in the community. Bitcoin dorminance have been on the increase while the Altcoins are been down. I will say this, is better to invest in bitcoin than risking your investment into altcoins like ripple, ethereum is better than ripple in my opinion. Sell out your ripple portfolio to get into Bitcoin investment.

Considering how bitcoin dominates more than 50% of the crypto market in terms of everything, i always think that bitcoin is always going to be a better investments than all the other cryptocurrencies in terms of value and profit, i don't mind investing in the other coins but i always prefer to put most of my money on bitcoin, and to be honest if you really want to maximize your profit you should consider investing based on the trade volume and the time, and right now i think you should move most of it to bitcoin.

I just want to give you a solution, that the most appropriate solution is to find Altcoin which is cheaper than buying bitcoin that already has a high price, even though the price of bitcoin is decreasing at least it doesn't make you get more than you think, if I may give my opinion to you, you'd better move to buy Ethereum which has almost the same potential as Bitcoin, at least you can get more than what you want ...

In my opinion, if you see BTC prices falling you better sell half of your XRP, to buy BTC, because I think this is a good opportunity to buy BTC before it's too late and regret later, and I make sure the BTC price will be a pantastic price for the year front. maybe this is just my opinion, all of course the decision is only on you to do it.

I see how tough it is for you to make decision whether you move from altcoin to BTC or to stay your investment as it is.
Analyzing the situation is the best way to finalize your decision, some say it would be better to move to btc and vice versa.

If it's me, Ill move if I have already gain profit from holding XRP, I'll stay if not. do not let your investment come to waste. face the risk.

Ii ever bought Ripple or XRP on higher price about $3 and now Ripple drop to $0.2 and lower, I think holding Ripple is not give us solution to get back our money because XRP still lower price and you have sell your ripple coin and take back your money by holding bitcoin as your investment assets.

For sure XRP is at low price and has very good chance for strong rebound
The only one thing what make worry is case does XRP is security
That case is still ongoing in USA.Somehow verdict will important for all industry
Personally i will not keep all money in one coin

when i hold my coinz it mean i will hold until the price reach my target, or i will hold until be ash. i buy some coin and hold it, or if i have it from campaign i will directly sell or hold until i got nothing.

OP said it all, I think you just misunderstood. He's thinking that this is the time for him to let go XRP because bitcoin's price now is affordable and good to invest than before, since XRP is not having huge fluctuations like Bitcoin, he wants to grab this chance to know if it is worth the risk, if it is the right choice or wrong choice to make. I understand that you see XRP as an stable coin that is good to hodl for a long run, but think also what Bitcoin could do in the long run.

Yes, you are right BTC is experiencing some downfall which is an opportunity to invest I feel this could be the right time to sell some other alts and give prior to the top coin. As we are very already in the last quarter we can expect some big change in couple of weeks.

I think most investors in the cryptocurerency industry always feel safer investing more of their funds in Bitcoin, likewise me. Can't exactly say the reason for this, but maybe it is because over the years, Bitcoin has proven its value and worth in the industry. If my advise is needed, I would say that you should go ahead to move or convert most of your coins to BTC. Meanwhile, there is going to be a major pump in BTC soon, so what's your excuse?

It all depends on how much down are you now. If you are holding a bag that's only getting lighter by the day get out ASAP. If the bag is already almost empty because the coin is down to 1% don't bother selling it's better to go all in and wait for a bounce back. Hell, you're already all in, what can be worse? Probably only selling and confirming it this way. XRP is such a bad coin and people are finally starting to get it.

I think you should keep that XRP's. Because it's a mistake to have only one asset in your portfolio. Risk management should always be done and portfolio needs to be spreaded into pieces. So your lost is not too much. The basic rule of investment is not to lose.

you can continue holding xrp , but for long term then can get profit

Do you wonder why? This is really simple, ripple is centralised worthless project that won't ever do anything special or technology behind it be any unique.
Bitcoin on the other hand is true technological revolution since invention of internet. Its trully decentralized which was never the case in history for digital assets/funds. Many was thinking its impossible, but Satoshi proved us wrong.

Invest in technology, not people telling good stories how they will conquer the world ;)

The movement of Altcoin in the last few months is not satisfactory and maybe this is not the season for Altcoin, and if you want to switch to bitcoin in my opinion it is a very good choice.
The movement of bitcoin on the market is still in good condition and although in a declining condition the price of bitcoin is still in good condition compared to Altcoin and the movement of bitcoin does not increase Altcoin which makes many people switch to bitcoin, bitcoin popularity always increases because bitcoin is very functional so it can be used for transactions or whatever purchases make bitcoin fans continue to grow, and many people are interested in adopting one that makes bitcoin better than Altcoin.

I would switch to bitcoin. Of course ripple blockchain performs much better than Bitcoin. It performs faster, cheaper, and more scalable transactions. But bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency, it is more suited as a store of value rather than a payment system though. I would just sleep better with holding btc not ripple. But it's up to you.

If you will purchase bitcoin now, you should not implement a short-term trading strategy because the price is just lower than the expected price of bitcoin which is $10,000. It is better if you will continuously buy bitcoin and stack them up and wait for the big event next year and that is when you will think about selling your bitcoin and I think that is the best time to enjoy your so called 'benefits'.
I don't support the act of invest in XRP not to talk of holding it for its a centralized coin and can be manipulate anytime while Bitcoin is the best coin to invest and hold now due to the downtrend market but that doesn't mean the above user cannot implement the short form of trading if he have the require knowlesge because every market have it own advantages.

Well, if the other coins are not doing it for you, then it would be best to dump then, and  move over to Bitcoin. I mean, by now, we all know that one of the safest ways to invest in the crypto market is by investing in Bitcoin. Although there are a vast majority of altcoins to also chose from. But if you have some shitty coins in your wallet, and you are not so sure, then you should move to btc.

I'd move to BTC, or at the very least buy more of BTC using external money (fiat). You could also buy more XRP, but I'd wait until I have a healthy position in BTC.

This is all assuming you don't use your coins for anything else and are just buying, and you have extra or disposable income so you can forget about BTC.

Those who live or rely on crypto to pay for everything have a different situation.

I bet to disagree with you brother, how can you advise someone against selling of ripple to bitcoin when you know that ripple has no future again to me when it comes to investment, they might be quite ok for usage but not for investment or to be held as an asset, so it would just be like a waste of time for anyone to be tying investment down in ripple.

I would rather prefer to buy that expensive coin that I am sure will still give me some profit in future than to but ripple, which I know that bitcoin is still very cheap to purchase right now compared to what the value will be in the future. Aside the value of it, when it comes to investment guarantee and investment that you can be sure of still having for decades, I think that it is only bitcoin that is qualified for it so I see no reason why he should not sell to bitcoin.

If you are not at loss, it make sense to move your investment into bitcoin since it's more safer for you than XRP as a long term investment, another point. altcoins would not pump without bitcoin's price pumping, just make sure you buy at fair price ( bottom ). Having that said, this decision should be made by you and you are responsible for your own money. No one here is your financial advisor.

You should never go to that and sold your XRP to BTC.
As of now all I can say is sell it and get some BTC at this low if you can consider putting some on Ethreum too.
These 2 coins will eventually get up and bring the price to a higher one!

This really means your top coin is XRP because in the first place you invested in xrp rather than btc. Why not decide for yourself though? And give time yourself to search which is better to invest in. Bitcoin has dominance in the market, on my point I always invest more on btc than any other altcoin.
He might have another way to get XRP without investing any amount rather having bitcoin. Though it does not rise often you have to wait till it bullish because every coin has its own time for good circulation along the market. It takes high risk to sell now with the bear market but you are the one to decide what you are going to do to increase what you have with potential coins.

that is the thing that I think about. at this time, it is very difficult to see altcoin develop first than bitcoin. so I also think the same, when you are not at a loss, it might not be a problem to convert it to bitcoin, considering the price of bitcoin has not fully recovered.

I feel that the price of XRP will not touch the price of $ 0.3 before the price of bitcoin reaches the price of $ 10,000. it has such a far-reaching allocation. think carefully before making a decision. maybe this daily analysis can also help you.

I suggest to hold your XRP. You have already invested on that for a long time. < ~~~~~~~~~ >

More also, having an extra income from outside the world of cryptocurrency will boost your portfolios if, you take time to invest in BTC and also, buy more of Ripple. Its not advisable to sell out what you have been holding for a longtime becasue, cryptocurrency market is unpredictable, sell out today and the price gain 1000x tomorrow. In your case, holding is the very best for you now than selling off your portfolio for Bitcoin. Extra cash will play an important role here.

Besides it even being a centralized coin, they don’t have community that is as strong as bitcoin to continue to promote their project and keep the market lively. One of the reasons why bitcoin came out of bear market easily and became lively was because it has lots of very strong communities that are wealthy and backing the project up, and also communities that are using the coin for payment purpose.

If you see most of the projects that we have today, their community is behind them because they are using it as investment and they feel that it is something they could get very high profit from, but unfortunately, coin like ripple has been more of disappointment to people than their usefulness. It is a very wrong decision to make ripple one's choice at this time.

If we will just include XRP to this topic then we should be moving 100 percent to BITCOIN.
But if you will do, you should consider to include other coins.
I might go 50/50 with BTC and ETH.
XRP will be going nowhere, I still can't understand those millions of XRP sending to other wallet and sell to market if the price rise.

This is very true, proven and tested. Making decisions out of nowhere will also lead you nowhere, I know that it is hard to resist the signs that the market is giving us to make our move, but selling out the coins you are hodling for a long time is a very dick move. A lot of scenarios could happen after that, when you sold your XRP because bitcoin's price right now is too good to buy and hold it, then the next day you woke up, bitcoin's price even dropped more, but the XRP price is just the same.

to make the long story short, don't sacrifice stable coins like XRP or even the coins you hold for a long time, ask some fiat on your family and use that to buy bitcoin, that would be a lot better.

XRP is out of league over here as it's too manipulative due to it's unofficial nature of being a centralized crypto rumoured to have been created by banks to penetrate the crypto market and they control it's value by creating buy/sell demands. When it comes to Bitcoin and ETH my preference would be same 50/50 as both are trustworthy and bounces back no matter how hard they fall which is not the case with other altcoins.

But if he already made a profit for holding from the time he bought it, I suggest to transfer his funds to btc and then start holding again, it would be better. It wont be a regrettable decision since bitcoin is really good for long term investment. And this time is good to hold more after a big dump, sudden increase in its price is unexpected but since its price already decreased, its time to buy.

Looking at the market value of bitcoin now, it will be good idea to sell your XRP for Bitcoin. You are likely to make about 20% - 30% of profit when the market value moves to $15k. I see bitcoin moving from $8k  to $15k before 2019 comes to an end. But XRP also has good potential of increasing in market value.

Yes, exchanging your XRP for Bitcoin would be better. The current price of bitcoin as of now is $8.1k, and if its price will increase up to $15k, you might earn more than 20-30% of your investment, it will be a long journey for hodl'ers, once its price started to increase, all hodl'ers are keeping their eyes to its price.

It depends on how long you have been holding your ripple. If you're having a hard time deciding what to buy, you can sell some of your ripples in exchange for investing in BTC. Both could honestly be profitable when the bull run happens. The decision still relies on how you could wait for a good profit.

XRP is a good coin but it has a long term potential. As it stands now, it will be smart to convert the XRP into BTC because BTC dominance is now huge. The altcoins market now cannot be compared to BTC and it appears the attention has shifted to BTC  and this is a good sign for impending bull run for BTC holders. OP can buy back the XRP when BTC rise to yield enough profit.

Thanks!

If you are looking for a long term investment then it is better to sell your xrp and buy bitcoin instead as the price of bitcoin right now is a good amount to invest in.

There is a big chance that bitcoin price can double in the next 2-4 months, the bitcoin dominance is very big also therefore other altcoins were left behind while the bitcoin price is keep on increasing rapidly. So bitcoin is the best choice right now compare to XRP.

That was in my mind that investing in XRP is not good for short term, long term holding is enough to wait when the price goes up.
If you have another source of funds much better not to sell your XRP if it has a dropped down value for now in order for you not to lose a big amount of money. It's better to have XRP and Bitcoin as well so that whatever may happen you will still have a chance to earn so I would highly suggest not to sell your XRP for now and wait for its price to increase

So let's analyze the situation here, it's about profit and opportunity, the guy has a chance to make a profit from holding his XRP may be good but if you have an insight and the situation is Bitcoin price is now dipping and the halving is going to happen next year with an opportunity for another all-time high, what would you choose, anytime the price could go up, because of the count down.
I'll definitely choose long term profit to short term one but the ball is in your hands.

It depends on you. I mean, we have our own way of allocating our money. In the first place, you have that allocation, so why did you that? For sure you have your own reason. Me personally I have different allocations but again, I have my own reasons why do I have that. Stick with your plan unless you can no longer take it.

Bitcoin is always the number one choice - it has been leading the market for years. No one cryptocurrency can become its rival. For understanding, you can draw an analogy with gold: it is valuable because it is difficult to mine, and its reserves are limited. Bitcoins - too, there are only 21 million of them - as originally written in the code. And more of them have been mined. The farther - the slower and more difficult to mine them, since calculations require more and more time. BTC is becoming more valuable for this reason.

Right now everyone's best investment in Crypto Currency would be Bitcoin. Altcoins do not start rising until Bitcoin rises. Then shortly after you see all the altcoins follow. XRP is a great coin but no coin will ever live up the the orginal. All the other coins are just copy cats with the same vision and slightly different use cases. Bitcoin will be the top dog for a long time. No coin has even began to have the same ROI as bitcoin.  Bitcoin has already had over 1,000,000% returns. It is expected to reach all new levels very soon. With the launch of Bakkt. This is only the beginning. You are still considered an early adopter. It is ok to hold a few altcoins but only keep it a small percent. You want to keep a majority of you portfolio in crypto mostly bitcoin. That is where all the money is going to go!

if for example I am in a position like you then what I do is I will sell some xrp to buy BTC because if I see it now the price of xrp is less stable, unlike BTC especially now the price of bitcoin has gone up in the last few days, if I think it's good for trading to have a small profit, and if you want to buy btc you better buy it when the price drops.

If we take the TOP-10 coins of the cryptocurrency market, then you can go to Bitcoin even now. But in my portfolio are Altcoins, which are in the TOP-200 coins of the cryptocurrency market, their price fell below the level of January 2019. I will not sell them for Bitcoin.

For me, I think you should start buying bitcoin because bitcoin's price is now starting to increase. I think it's better to start selling your xrp to bitcoin because xrp is less stable than bitcoin. Of course bitcoin is the number one in the market so you should start buying bitcoin with your xrp. Though the decision will be up to yours.

To all who say that BTC rising - yeah, but it also quite unpredictable and fast. I mean, over the few hours BTC raised to 8300$ and then again fell to 8000$. So I would recommend holding your XRP and buy BTC only if you'll see it raised quickly.

If I were you I would immediately sell that XRP and buy some cheap BTC. Btw I consider $8000/btc a bargain price. We all know that XRP has lousy reputation over the internet for not being a true cryptocurrency. Look at the higher timeframes at XRPBTC pair. You can clearly see there the weakness of ripple, so I think it's better to join the trend and sell xrp and buy some precious btc. Now..I might be biased here as I'm a true believer in Bitcoin, but this is not financial advice and you should not take it as one. It's simply my personal answer to you.

Looks like you don't have to sell XRP just to buy bitcoin whose price is going up.  Because almost every time there is a movement in the price of bitcoin goes up, then altcoins like XRP also go up.  As happened yesterday, when bitcoin prices reached ± $ 8,300, XRP prices also moved slowly.  Conversely, today XRP also fell after the price of bitcoin experienced a correction.
Bitcoin fluctuations are very fast, so in my opinion it is very risky to sell other assets just to buy bitcoin because we don't know the extent of the increase unless there is a factor and good news about its development.

I do not believe that Ripple's prices will continue to rise and I think it is better to go to Bitcoin. Why take such a risk in a crisis. When we saw that Bitcoin was showing the best price increase in the market for 2 years.

Yes, for the current situation there is no point in selling XRP to buy bitcoin because both are down and if you want to have bitcoin, you can make purchases with money without having to sacrifice XRP because the current bitcoin price continues to decline and currently the price of bitcoin is around $ 7,930 it is an opportunity to buy it and according to your ability before the price rises again.
XRP is one of the potentially profitable altcoins to own and if you have both, it will be much better and when both of them increase you will get a very large profit.

Don't sell your portofolio in order to get into bitcoin , those are already investments even if you bought them during the strong period of the bear market. Would be wiser that next time you start to accumulate Bitcoin first and after switch to altcoins but now if you have some money for investment, Bitcoin is still down in price and always ready for an investments as long as you keep it long term.

When I look at the current state of the cryptocurrency market, I observe an almost very active decline in the value of many cryptocurrencies.  My portfolio has more than 100 different coins and tokens, but their value is very low.  Many of the projects in my opinion have already died, and some have not shown a decent result even in one and a half or two years.  I have no other choice but to conduct an inventory and restructuring of my portfolio in order to get rid of dubious coins and invest the proceeds in more popular cryptocurrencies, and maybe even in Bitcoin.

Just stay patient because that will be the key to making big money in crypto currency. So don't sell your holdings better buy more especially if you know that there is potential for its price to rise in a timely manner.

Most of us see that as the price of an altcoins increases, we invest immediately. But that's wrong, Because you have to look at the reason first and to be sure it's not a Bulltrapped.

Hmmm I guess try to convert half of your xrp to somehow have a little profit . Just watch the market so that you will be sure to your choice. For me, this is the right time to buy btc because of its value. However, we are not sure when does a certain crypto pumps and dumps. This makes it risky, actually like a gambling. We need to risk our funds if you want to win instatly. On the other  hand, be safe and be on the middle.

If I may give advice, it would be nice if the XRP that you have moved to BTC, see the prospects of BTC more good compared to XRP.
But everyone has different views so even if disagree with me I don't mind. Because investing in bitcoin is indeed more profitable in
my opinion, especially in long-term holding will be able to produce big profit. Actually XRP is one of the coins that has very good potential,
but when compared with BTC certainly logically BTC is much better. I return again each other to accept my advice or not.

i think, now is scary to holding altcoin, you cant predict bitcoin movement, moreover altcoin. sometimes, altcoin movement is good for daily trading, i dont know but i often disappointed because late to sell or miss some low price. so, when you have alt, just convert to btc, but if you sure that alt very profitable for some week or month, just hold on altcoin

if I would choose both of them I would divide my ripple in half. as much as 1500 xrp I will sell and replace it with bitcoin. and the rest of the xrp coins I will hold. why I do this because currently the value of bitcoin is down. This is a great opportunity to buy. and I'm optimistic that the price of bitcoin will rise again. many predict the price of bitcoin will rise on halving day in 2020. if we buy bitcoin now we will regret it. and for XRP I will hold it too because XRP has a good platform I predict in the future XRP will develop rapidly which will make XRP prices go up.

I prefer bitcoin over xrp. But you can hold them both. Don't hold purely xrp because bitcoin for a long time remains at top and xrp over the years cannot even make it close. So make bitcoin are you main crypto currency. Maybe you can make it 75% bitcoin and 25% of your money for xrp. If in case you want to hold more altcoins then make sure bitcoin is 50% and let your other 50% divided among altcoins.

That's the main problem of this community, we haven't yet to learn the basic thing, I think we need to more focus on the future perspective, we should not be panicked and don't be worried to sell your stakes within a very early time, cryptocurrency is not good for only making profit instantly, I think if we hold this cryptocurrency then we will avail more benefit than selling at present, I suggest you hold your xrp for more days because the cryptocurrency platform is not going well in recent time, if you want to sell then other people also motivated to sell their stakes, in this way, Market will get another short time hazard, that's why holding is good both for you and this market.

It is your decision if you will move your xrp into a bitcoin because at the first place, it is your money and we don't have any reliance about your money. Second is xrp is a good ripple and many people same as you that is holding it because they believe that xrp will go higher again, higher than ethereum maybe. But if I we're you I will still hold my xrp because many says that xrp has the capability to reach the top of the market. But at the end of the day you will be the one to decide on what you will do. It is just my opinion to express it and helps you with your decision.

For obvious reasons, bitcoin is the only coin that worth to hold for a long a time. XRP? I doubt that it can significantly increased in the future as compare to bitcoin specially after the block halving. Bitcoin is limited and with that demands increases and it's going to push the price even further and could reach a new all time highs year after year, so it's an easy choice here.

maybe a pretty good way is, let the XRP you have, and collect bitcoin for now. if you really still want to hold XRP, and believe in the increase, there is no reason to listen to others, make your own decision. but, if you are very doubtful, then exchanging it to Bitcoin will make you calmer in thinking. now chill your head, and make a decision.

Follow the strategy that suits to you, I think you are doing fomo now because you do not want to miss the momentum and that's why you want to follow the flow.  xrp is good in short term investment but in a long term investment; i do not think so.

I think it is recommended to convert some of your altcoins to bitcoin because anytime it could pump up the price. Also it is much better to trade bitcoin  than altcoins today since it is much profitable.

But if you prefer accumulating more satoshi then convert it to ripple since it is dominating the market and rising its value converted to satoshi.

I think it's better if you just leave it there XRP is a promising coin as well like Bitcoin. It's better to diversify your holdings because we don't know the movement of the market. What if you sold your XRP to buy Bitcoin but then XRP makes a sudden movement, your time and effort invested upon it will be in vain. The best option is that have a multiple Holdings, simply don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Perhaps that would be profitable if uptrend comes.

When you choose to invest in any coin, it should not be under any probability, the investment should be out of the assurance that the coin in question is really a solid coin that will surely yield you a good returns in future no matter the challenges that the project may be passing through. Many people invest in bitcoin because they so much believe in the future of bitcoin, and that is why they are holding it as an asset because of the assurance, and not just because they want to hold out of doubt.

If you are thinking of holding an asset with doubt, you may never be able to choose the right coin to actually invest in. Investment should not be gambling, it is something that we have to research on the project first and be sure of its standard before buying it.

I think for the time being you better stay on the coins you have and while waiting for the price of bitcoin to recover because I see bitcoin in early 2020 there will be a halving day which triggers the price of bitcoin to be expensive so wait at the right moment to return the assets to bitcoin again and after that you can make a profit withdrawal.

Currently the market is in a very sensitive period, when almost of us and analysis expert are expecting another fall of BTC as well as the market by the end of this year. So I think you can move all of your XRP to USDT and wait to grab your bag of coins, when the market was moving like last year.

Thanks!

The market is always sensitive! I don`t remember the times in crypto when situation wasn`t sensitive! I don`t like xrp, I would exchange all xrp to btc without any thinking. Moving crypto funds to some stable coin is ok in some situations when you wish to scalp the market. Price dropped to 7500 and I don`t know is it a good time for doing that, maybe the price can sink a bit more, but I`m not sure, people who sold at 10k are now waiting for good price to get in again.
For me bitcoin always was a best option. Other alts are here just for us to make more bitcoins. XRP is no different here, I don`t think that xrp can have better future than bitcoin, but in the end it`s just my opinion.

See its your personal choice whether you want to exchange your coins or hodl them as both of them are good option.Xrp being a centralized coin has many growth and development oppurtunities in future which will eventually increase adoption and prices so you might regret at that time. The prices rise with rise in btc and if yiu want to exchange it with btc you can proceed with any exchange and hodl your btc for long run and when prices reach you satisfactory prices you can cash out your profits.

don't sell your XRP to buy BTC, the market is now more towards the downtrend. will feel very loss if you sell xrp then buy btc and it turns out btc prices continue to fall. it's better to just save your xrp, if you really feel like buying btc, I would rather recommend your capital for short-term trading.

I think don't sell your xrp because that coins is good to hold also. So if i were you i will keep it and hold to wait the good price or the right price for you to sell your coins.
Hold and wait

Think twice and observe more before you take your decision, the market is still bearish if you failed to analyze and situations brings more downfall it will force you to panic. If you are intending to invest with Bitcoin it might be better to start with new funds keeping your XRP and allow new investment money to be used for your Bitcoin assets will lead you to a much profitable position. It takes a lot of patience waiting for the good timing. Plan and execute carefully.

Forget Ripple XRP just sell them and buy bitcoins. Bitcoin turns out to be more profitable these days than many altcoins. If the bitcoin is more profitable then why HODL Ripple XRP? Many altcoins are not having a good time this year but the bitcoin is doing very well. Buy bitcoin since it is better.

I'm a day trader and I do not hold coins in a long time. I'm  a trader where I am comfortable to hold coins in just a day. Follow the strategy that suits to you, I think you are doing fomo now because you do not want to miss the momentum and that's why you want to follow the flow.  xrp is good in short term investment but in a long term investment; i do not think so.
as trading in the daily category we do have stricter rules regarding targets and also how long to hold. of course we do not want to be too long to hold altcoin because we still have to spin our money. so it's not good if you can't sell it for a long time.usually if within a maximum of 3 days there is no movement or touch the cute lose point I will sell

I must suppose to keep XRP instead moving to BTC if you think bitcoin are still increasing the price and the XRP are not must better to hold it and be patience to your XRP, If you look at the past of XRP are having some high price that we not expected and surpass ETH for being a top 2 in a market. But it depends on you because we are different thoughts about in that case and i believe also XRP are will be followed from BTC for increasing the price.

if you want to move BTC by selling XRP, it should be when XRP experiences a pump, now the market is down, if you sell now it will only make a loss, so you better hold XRP, don't sell it and if there are more funds you buy BTC, this is a good choice in my opinion , instead of selling losses it is better to find cold funds to use.

Bitcoin has a more realistic value so holding Ripple is usually not profitable in the long term because if you look at the history of price increases and drops, Bitcoin still has a greater advantage because the coin has a great stability in mind. In fact, Bitcoin is used by more people because this is the coin that can determine the existence of this market and recently many large companies are using Bitcoin to trade.

Currently, the value of Bitcoin may decrease but in the next few years there will be a lot of big changes so it is best to sell Ripple to invest in Bitcoin.

personally, if I have other coins besides bitcoin (XRP, ETH, STR, ADA, LTC, etc.) I never make it all in. The main thing is buying bitcoin. and others are the best coins in the top 10. for example when I have 1000 $ I will buy 500 $ for bitcoin 250 $ for ETH, and the rest is altcoin which I think is good. so you can see this as a consideration, should you buy bitcoin or not? especially when the price of bitcoin falls like today.

as others say "don't put eggs in one basket" I might as well do the same thing. but, I will choose bitcoin as the most asset among other altcoins. XRP might be able to reach the price of $ 0.4 this year, only when that happens, the price of bitcoin might be able to reach a higher price.

Well, because of the current decline, I see this as an opportunity to increase the number of bitcoins.

You should split more your assets to many coins, so you won't crashed too much when the price of one of those coins go down.
And for me, holding 50%+ btc from all our assets is good for investment, or even you can use it sometimes for buying another alts

This kind of diversification is useless, most altcoins especially those at the top move in a very similar manner, they are highly correlated and if you want to truly diversify your portfolio then you need to buy assets that show no correlation between each other, good options for this could be gold, stocks, even stable coins or fiat which are negatively correlated with bitcoin but buying many altcoins does not seem to make a lot of sense especially in a market fully dominated by bitcoin.

Right, because the world of crypto has started from Bitcoin and still it is number one currency in crypto market, and its price gets increase several times more than any other coin in the market which means that Bitcoin is more profitable as compare to all, so the first preference should always be Bitcoin for investment.

You should really buy bitcoins now. As you know, there are many traders in China who are looking to bitcoin and buy it a lot due to the good news from the government.
After China, I think other developed countries will also have a new perspective on the crypto market and will invest in it. This is a good time to buy and the market is likely to grow in the next few weeks.

After the bull run of 2017-2018, 2018 was a bearish year when many altcoins died. That was a time when investors should have shifted to Bitcoin.
Would not it be a little bit expensive to buy bitcoin at time when it will be recovered? What is the point in waiting for bitcoin to become expensive and then invest in it. It will not even produce good profits. In order to make money, it is important to buy low and when bitcoin price increase your asset will be also go to high value . If you want to buy at low rates, you do that in dumps like now. I am highly supporting the idea of leaving altcoins and investing in bitcoin.

Great you a had point mate but ofcourse even in the bullrun year 2017'people are focus investing in bitcoin and altcoins because that year is same profitables.
Imthink no need to worry about the last worse scenario of the crypto space way back 2018 all is in the dump specially altcoins because is that cause of bitcoin drops,I think this time is better time to invest both bitcoin and altcoins specially ethereum. That is only mynown views.

Better to keep holding XRP, because in my opinion when the value of bitcoin goes up altcoin like XRP and BCH will definitely go up. It's up to you to move it to BTC, but I suggest if you want to buy BTC, use other funds aside from selling XRP. Halving can still be awaited, while you are preparing funds to buy bitcoin at low prices.
In my opinion, each person's investment preferences are different because everyone has their own options when investing in this market. I think it is best to keep Bitcoin a lot more since this is the safest coin at this time and always raise the price up if good news comes out. Holding XRP is not profitable because the coin is not much changed and XRP has remained between $0.25 to $0.3 during the past year.

I can't decide for you but think again about this investment because Bitcoin is the real value coin in this market.

I also think that holding XRP is not profitable, if you but XRP with BTC then most of the time XRP value low than of the time buying, i think bitcoin is the best choice and now is still a good price for investment to go on with bitcoin.
You should have visit the movement of XRP (Ripple) this past weeks so you may consider changing your post

Here so you’ll find that Ripple don’t move the way you are telling us,because since it is pumping and dumping the more chance of making small profit each trade

Many expert traders say if in the next few months the price of bitcoin will continue to rise. Considering the movement of altcoin top rank 10 usually follows the price of bitcoin (btc up, they also up). So I advice you to continue hold it or sell a part as reserve fund. But if you currently hold altcoin below rank 10 it is strongly recommended to sell everything immediately. Because usually if the price of bitcoin goes up, they will go down.

+1, all in on bitcoin will make your assets grow rapidly. although this happens when you choose to focus on 1 asset, I also recommend choosing bitcoin. evidence that the dominance of bitcoin that occurred this year could really be an example of what will happen in the future.

in addition, Bakkt is also focusing on bitcoin, when there is news about Bakkt's development regarding bitcoin, it will certainly make the price of bitcoin rise again. news like Bakkt will launch bitcoin payments with Starbucks, a customer app for Crypto, and others might be a plus for Bakkt to increase the price of bitcoin.

Well the normal trend of the market is that if bitcoin is going through dump phase, whole market starts decreasing in value even the famous altcoins such as ethereum also starts going down. I would like to know the names of altcoins that increase when bitcoin is dumping. As far as holding multiple coins is concerned, that is a practically useful technique of increasing chances of profit.

Markets go through different phases, as we know this market has the tendency to operate in two different ways when it is going up, either we see bitcoin going up and outperform altcoins or we see an altcoin season in which most altcoins outperform bitcoin, during the last months we have seen bitcoin performing greatly and for this reason many are expecting for the market to change and watch altcoins going up faster than bitcoin, but there is no guarantee that will happen so if the decision is between investing in bitcoin or altcoins we need to choose bitcoin right now.

Thanks!
You're not able to trust your own investment. This is not how you should trade or invest.
First of all, you need to decide how much risk you're willing to take and what profit margins are you looking at. After considering that, look at the market of both BTC and XRP and understand the past trends. If you see more prospects in BTC then, go for it.
If you listen to me, BTC is performing way better than altcoins recently. I don't see enough benefits of staying in altcoins for longer. Though they are still good for swing trades.

It depends on you on what you think is the best thing to do but I would suggest you keep on analyizing and monitoring first the market value of both XRP and BTC to figure out what's best to do. The market value of BTC at the moment is quite high so selling your XRP to buy BTC wouldn't be a good idea. It would be better if you'll wait for a while first before making a move so that you wouldn't end up in regret. Be smart and wise so that you can make the most from your investment.

Due to total capitalization I would go for other altcoins. I cannot imagine Bitcoin going 100x or even 20x. it would be too costly, but some altcoins can grow significantly with really small volume needed. who knows which one it would be, but personally I would trust in technology Holo, Nano,THETA and Ardor.

I think that Bitcoin will continue to grow in value (5x-10x) over the next two years but there is a lot of risk. the best you can do is to have a balanced portfolio so you have good risk/reward ratio. So before buying altcoins through exchanges like Binance/kucoin. buy Bitcoin, allocate the 30-40 percent portion from your portfolio to Bitcoin, then buy altcoins and you are set.

in my opinion, it might be very appropriate if you sell a portion of your xrp, and you make it as bitcoin. in my opinion, xrp is a good altcoin, but when compared to bitcoin, xrp is still below bitcoin. maybe you can make the rest of your xrp to be used as daily trading. and you use your bitcoin for long-term trading. the reason I suggest all of that, is because I think the btc has a brighter future than other coins. and when someone just enters the world of cryptocurrency, I'm sure that person wants to have btc. so the longer the demand for bitcoin is increasing. and I suggest to trade daily with xrp, because I think all altcoin has a high risk compared to bitcoin for the long term. by trading on a daily basis, it might minimize the risks involved in altcoin. we can also benefit by utilizing the ups and downs of altcoin which is always changing every day.

It would be better if you will diversify into those two. Bitcoin and altcoins are good investment and you can't never be wrong with that. They all have potential and the thing that you need to do is to determine what altcoin is the best for investment in long term basis because long term always pay the best rewards if you are an investor.
You can not go wrong when you invest in bitcoin but when it comes to altcoins everything can go wrong, there are thousands of coins out there and only a few of them have any user base and a reason to exist at all, even some of the coins at the top are coins in which I will never invest, as such you must remember when you invest in altcoins that the risk is many times greater than the risk of investing in bitcoin and if you decide to do it then it is better for you to only invest a small portion of your capital in altcoins.

Not only this xrp all the cryptocurrencies will be converted as a bitcoin and usdt at least once when you are being in trading websites. So if you want to convert those coins to BTC for sometime you may do it.
Value holding the BTC you may need to be careful and exchange the coins to the USD coins whenever the price was bumped to good level.

Maybe many suggests XRP due to its low fee and high speed transaction transfer (deposit or withdrawal) . If you have money that is converted in bitcoin , bitcoin itself is a good investment especially for a long term, you may invest in different altcoins too such as eth/ltc/bch and many more.

XRP is like a ticking time bomb. A lot of users have that coin in their portfolio, because previously it had given very good returns. But at the same time, somewhere around 70% to 80% of all the total supply is being owned by a handful of promoters, and this makes this coin extremely risky when compared to the other cryptocurrencies. I would definitely not recommend having XRP above 20% in the portfolio. If your proportion is more than this, then it may not be a bad idea to convert some of this XRP to either Bitcoin or Ethereum.

I would recommend to accumulate bitcoin as much as possible since there is a possibility that it could jump to $10k or more than to increase its value. That's why it be best to take advantage and sell some of altcoins then buyback later to hodl more once alts follow up.

And more reason to accumulate is because of the halving that could take us to the moon or hit more than the ATH.

But investors are always smart so once altcoins or token growing well they are all move to the desire way. So we always adopt the current situation.

I'm not saying that xrp is a bad coin, I believe xrp has a future, and includes coins with high trading volume. but when you compare with bitcoin, I would prefer bitcoin. if I am in your position, maybe what I will do is, wait a while to see the state of the xrp price, because in my opinion sometimes the xrp price follows the bitcoin price trend, if the price matches the target I want, I will sell it and I will make it bitcoin. maybe I'll leave 1000 xrp, and I use it for daily trading.

I think there is no harm in holding back the ripple which in my opinion has been very good development because this coin can have a very high volume and can be implemented in various large companies, it's just that this XRP price increase is very long so the benefits you get will also be long, while bitcoin in May 2020 which will most likely make bitcoin prices very expensive, so long as you are not too late to exchange bitcoin then you can exchange it as soon as possible to be able to enjoy the benefits of having bitcoin when halving occurs.

Think about it first. Moving to bitcoin is a very complicated thing knowing that its value is very difficult to understand since it is very volatile. Many people has ended up regretting moving into bitcoin as they buy some but then it fell down. You should first monitor the price first before buying and even though XRP's price is falling down, you might still end up making mistake as you see its price growing. Bitcoin is a great coin to invest but there's a lot you need to consider before investing on it.

Why ripple?  You couldn't have picked a worse coin to invest most of your crypto money in, in my opinion.  I know it's popular, but there's a good reason why it's trading at around $0.30.  It's a garbage coin and as close to a centralized gov't cryptocurrency as you could possibly find right now.  It isn't *exactly* that, but it's close.  Ripple probably isn't going to give you much of a return if you're holding it, either.

I think op ought to sell all that ripple and buy bitcoin if he hasn't done so already.  I would advise him not to play around with other altcoins and just stick to btc, because at least it has the potential to perform a nice moon shot, probably within the next few months to a year.

I'm not saying that xrp is a bad coin
Then just say it.  XRP is a bad coin.  Very, very bad.

Moving from XRP to BTC is good decision because XRP has very slow growth and very difficult to rise up, from moving to bitcoin you will likely have a chance to get much profits from BTC because the price are recovering and before the halving we have to buy as much as we can, i'm sure the price will pumped hard at least at the end of next year.

You can better Holding BTC no XRP head pairs so BTC why you can like XRP?
my thing BTC are better holding long term.
In my opinion depend on the skill and psikilogis of trading that we have, if we dont have skill and can not control emotion for the better just hold strong fundamental coin like BTC and ETH, by make investment in these coin is easy way to make profit.  And if we have skill in altcoin trading(Paired BTC), better do short trading because the price of BTC going up fast now. And for longterm altcoin trading is very risky, because mostly altcoin now their price just pump dump.

The search results comment is appreciated on quoted you can remember it.

Maybe he/she's mind now was confused about this decision they make, But its your decision actually some of people in here are trying to help you on what good to do. The cryptocurrency market favors bitcoin this year. If you look at the market dominance you can see the bitcoin has over 65% of the cryptocurrency market dominance and rest of the altcoins market has less than 35% of the market dominance. It is a welcoming idea to move all your assets to bitcoin forget about the altcoins market.

This could have been a good idea months ago when the price of bitcoin was still low but it was clearly growing faster than altcoins, but now that is a difficult decision, bitcoin seems like it has stopped growing and we are seeing a significant decrease on its price, for altcoins this could mean two things, that during the next months investors finally decide to give altcoins a chance or that investors decide to get out of the market and wait for the next time the price of bitcoin begins to go up.

I think you will get more profit to the XRP because that coin is cheaper than the bitcoin once the coin who are cheaper a trader can get a lot of money because it increase more than 100 times upto thousands but the bitcoin increase only few times because they already higher value but if you have big capital bitcoin is best for you but if you have only small capital just stick to XRP.

Altcoin season is still not good at this time even though there is a slight increase and that does not mean you have to exchange Altcoin for bitcoin, it's good to hold your Altcoin to wait for the Altcoin season to come and maybe now is not the time for Altcoin.
if you want to have bitcoin, you have to buy it when there is a decline and in my opinion now is the right time because the price is still affordable to make purchases according to your ability, and I'm sure in the near future Altcoin and bitcoin will increase together.

Even if the prices of bitcoin are showing some fluctuations right now but the overall impact of these fluctuations remained positive. The prices showed some serious and decent increase. What I believe is that we shall not doubt the tendency of bitcoin for coming back with major goals of setting new records of bull market in the coming months, so no need of considering altcoins at this crucial time.

It's okay to move our fund, if we think that we are not sure or there is nothing happening to the coins we are investing at. Let's  just move it rather than having zero in return to our investment, let's just make it as a lesson in our part not to give our all in everything we are investing, or just invest some part of our money, so it won't hurt that much if we lose from it, being safe and secure is still better than regretting later.

Exactly. If you are not getting any earnings in your investment you better move it rather waiting for nothing. Moving your investment to Bitcoin would be a better idea, even it is still not increasing it's price as of now because it is good for a long term investment than any other cryptocurrency and it has huge chance that it could reach it's price again up to $20k or more.

If you think that the price of the xrp will go up and goes to be more profitable, it is better to trade your xrp than holding it because also to avoid regression in selling your coins. Sometimes we cannot predict the value of the currency every time if it goes up or down, but our goal is to have earnings. If you hold your coins and then the price of the xrp is still the same, but the cost of the bitcoin is profitable, another mistake for earnings again. But still, this is your decision if you want to hold or sell your coins.

It is better to choose the price that you will earn a profit, and you cannot gain more if you hold your coins, and also you cannot make a profit too if the price of the bitcoin rise and you didn't sell or convert it.

the focus on bitcoin is not a mistake, even today almost everyone involved in the crypto world will try to have as much bitcoin before halving. to be honest, I also did that, but maybe 50 of my assets are bitcoin, and the rest is ethereum. I believe these two coins will go to the moon in the coming year, so I changed all of my digital assets to these two coins.

The fact that incoming halving will make a good impact to the market, storing bitcoin is one of the common act from each investors and traders. Knowing that chances of Fomo's will arrive before or after the halving period gives positive indicators that the value of bitcoin will rise. if you still
have good amount of funds that you can spare in buying bitcoin best not to waste time in deciding your investment.

if you want to have bitcoin, you have to buy it when there is a decline and in my opinion now is the right time because the price is still affordable to make purchases according to your ability, and I'm sure in the near future Altcoin and bitcoin will increase together.

The number of tokens, mentioned by CoinMarketCap will soon reach 5 thousand. In reality, there are at least 2.5 times more tokens on the market. It might seem that we have got more chances to make money investing in a variety of projects. In reality, Bitcoin is ready to devour the largest part of them. It makes sense to trust BTC now more and invest in this crypto.

Actually, in my opinion it's better for you to trade just xrp. With the capital you have, I'm sure you can more easily increase the amount of xrp you have. So you just sell all the xrp that you have, then you buy it again at the price below you sell it. But you have to do it when the market is stable and there is no drastic decline in the price of bitcoin

We are in the crypto market not to just spend time rather to make huge money so that requires going with profitable coins. There is no need to stick with coins that appeared great in the beginning but later started going down. Shifting your money to successful coins will save you from regrets and losses. It has never been bad to move your money in bitcoin because bitcoin is always going to pump hard no matter how much time it takes.

I suppose we will have to accept that we are a different kind of traders, to me any possibility is always open and I will take my decisions based on what I see the price doing, this is why I am still kind of bearish on bitcoin the necessary pressure to make the price to go up is not there and since demand is so important in this market due to the limited supply then I cannot help to think we are going to test the 7000 resistance once again during the next weeks.

Thanks!

Personally, I'd move to Bitcoin. Keep some of your XRP, but ultimately why would you stay pretty much exclusively with XRP when you could buy Bitcoin which has dominance over the market and the highest market cap by far?

Well! I suggest covert half of them. (https://www.todayswertresresult.net/swertres-hearing/) Because if both increases you will get profit from both sides.. (https://thebuzzevents.com/valentine-week).
It has always been my belief that if you do not know what it takes to profit from a very simple strategy then you should not make it more complex before you figure out how to do it, those that are new to trading this market should only trade bitcoin until they find a way to gain money, otherwise I do not understand how they will try to profit from altcoins when they present more volatility and are even more difficult to predict.

The creator of this thread is tying to trade two coins in a simultaneous way and it does not seem like he knows what he is doing especially since he decided to invest in XRP which is a coin that has not been performing that well during several years.

You should really do the same. because bitcoin has just dropped sharply and now it is hovering at the bottom of $ 7k2. Its price is very cheap and you should buy them before they are pumped up to $ 16k in 2020. This halving event will have a very high effect and I believe the profit of holding bitcoin will be higher than XRP.

I think he should move all of his XRP to btc. In the final run btc will win.si there is no reason to hold XRP.XRP is not profitable than bitcoin even not profitable  than many altcoin.maybe you saw XRP move in usd but very few time Prices rises in btc pair.BTW actually  It's your personal matter, what you will do.

I think that it will be a good idea if you'll sell your XRP against BITCOIN. but you should do it in a perfect timing. I think while bitcoin's price is around 7k$, it's gonna be a good moment to buy some bitcoin using your ripple, I'm saying that because I don't think that xrp will gain a good value in the future as we all know that it have a large supply in the market and this is kinda difficult for it to increase a lot and give you such a good profit like bitcoin.

It's still on his hands what is his strategy, for me now that the price of Bitcoin is low, then will also do the same, will take this chance to accumulate more Bitcoin as I know that this will make me more profitable than XRP, but still we are just suggesting, it will be up to him whatever he will choose. But, if ever you have both, much better as XRP has future too.

Ripple has always had problems to go up in value not only because of its huge supply which is in my opinion an already big reason to discard the coin, but this also happens because many users have a very strong distrust of ripple because of its very strong ties with banks and as we know one of the reasons for this market to be created on the first place was to create a system that allowed us to transfer money without the need of any third party.

So I really think that ripple doesn't really have a bright future and if that is the case what is the point of investing in such a coin when you could invest in bitcoin which all parties agree it is a sure winner.
