After cafeful consideration, we have decided to stop all co-operation with Vindax Exchange

BLNC can now be traded on SatoExchange (https://www.satoexchange.com/ico/BLNC/).
Pairs: BLNC/BTC & BLNC/ETH

Please not our whitepaper is outdated since we shifted our main focus to a decentralized reverse image search engine. You can use our online service to protect your pictures, illustrations and artwork by submitting them to the Birdlance blockchain and track where your images are being used online powered by each node in the Birdlance network. Use our developers API  to easily add image recognition and reverse image search to your own applications or submit an URL of any image and get a unique hash backed by a blockchain transaction.

Our blockchain API capabilities have been extended with a reverse image search developers API.

Calculate Image Hash
Calculate a perceptual hash of an image by using an URL to the image.

Request:
requestType is calculateImageHash
url is the URL to the image

Response:
hash (S) is the perceptual hash of the image located on the URL
requestProcessingTime (N) is the API request processing time (in millisec)

Example:

Request:
http://18.197.116.35:9085/nxt?requestType=calculateImageHash&url=http://ogsteviestrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Patreon-320-320-300x159.png

Response:
{
"imageHash":"f01b07f82fe6f8073a116aac87cb877bfdf86c9a783707e487cc7031044b8c0f","requestProcessingTime":993
}
Perform Image Search

Perform a search by using an imageís perceptual hash or URL.

Request:
requestType is performImageSearch
hash is the perceptual hash of the image; or
secretPhrase is the secret phrase of the funding account
5 BLNC is needed for this request, 4 BLNC gets send to forger of the last block.

Response:
imageSearch (B) is true if the operation completed successfully
requestProcessingTime (N) is the API request processing time (in millisec)

Example:

Request:
http://18.197.116.35:9085/nxt?requestType=performImageSearch&hash=f01b07f82fe6f8073a116aac87cb877bfdf86c9a783707e487cc7031044b8c0f&secretPhrase=IWontTellYou
or
http://18.197.116.35:9085/nxt?requestType=performImageSearch&url=http://www.domain.com/path_to_image.jpg&secretPhrase=IWontTellYou

Response:
{
  "requestProcessingTime": 6396,
  "imageSearch": [
    {
      "image_uri": "http:\/\/ogsteviestrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Patreon-320-320-300x159.png",

Whats next?

-Integrate our reverse image search with each node. Each node will crawl the web to improve our reversed image search. This means that the more nodes the birdlance blockchain network has, the more powerful our reverse image search will become. We will contineously work on improvements to the blockchain to make our reversed image search smarter and self-sustainable.
-Our indexed data (hash and image url) is too big to store on chain. To be truely succesful we need around 40 billion of crawled image data. Right now this data is centralized. We are working on an OrbitDB(P2P database) to make this decentralized.
-Integrate our reversed image search APIs in the next node update. Everyone will then be able to use his/her own node for our reversed image search APIs by simply enabling the API functionalities of their node (setting in the properties file).

Read full here:https://medium.com/birdlance/decentralized-reverse-image-search-blockchain-api-8b5f261f0fbf (https://medium.com/birdlance/decentralized-reverse-image-search-blockchain-api-8b5f261f0fbf)

This is perfect for reverse image search, matching, image verification and recognition solutions.

Who can benefit from using our Developers API?
-Online marketplaces can identify products and find duplicates
-Resellers and insurance companies can use our API for fraud detection
-Travel and booking sites can verify listings and update them by finding copies
-Dating and social media sites can detect false profiles
-Trademark offices can detect infringing trademarks and protect them with blockchain transactions

As an example we have implemented a reverse image search bar on the homepage.

As an another example you can now login to your account on birdlance.com and navigate to the upload photos section.
After upload your image will be protected by a unique fingerprint saved on the Birdlance blockchain and will be linked to your BLNC account.
This can be viewed on the blockchain explorer by clicking the link provided in the details of the image in the my photos section.

If duplicates are found, a red border will appear around the image and a "show duplicates" button will be available in the details of the image.
The fee of uploading a picture is 4 BLNC(this fee is rewarded to the node that forged the block).
In the current alpha version it is only possible to upload a single picture at a time and Birdlance will cover the transaction fee of 4 BLNC.

No, the airdrop is not instantly paid since we want to avoid the creation of spam/fake accounts as much as possible.
After payment of coins, you can start staking by withdrawing to the desktop wallet (download links are on website). You need 1440 confirmations to start staking.

Birdlance is JPL-compliant. A snapshot was taken before the launch of the Birdlance mainnet. If you own your private keys, normally you can use those credentials to login to the Birdlance wallet. Simply replace your 'NXT-' in your address  with 'BLNC-' and login to our desktop wallet, you should find your coins there. You can find multiple links for our wallet depending on your OS on our website. Keep in mind none of the devs at Birdlance hold any NXT.

It depends. If you held any NXT when the snapshot was taken on the 7th of june, then no, if you bought NXT later, then yes.

Is this kind of platform still a profitable business? Since we are in the digital age where most have their own smartphones and other gadgets to take photos, I am wondering if they can still sell those photos? If you are being a practical one, I don't think you will buy a photo online when you can just produce it on your own. Just my thoughts...

that is one of their major struggles here. if their platform will not be a hit, creating or increasing its value in the market would be hard for them. and just like many others, they might end up in trading only and their application would be secondary, if ever they will get customers onboard...

Most people will usually go to stock photo websites to use what they needed and if you saw someone is selling their own then then their best means of getting paid is to put watermarks first in their works to show it and then get paid if the buyer likes it and then he will give the photo with different quality and no watermarks. It needs no blockchain at all to have that 'trustless' system.

It needs no blockchain at all to have that 'trustless' system.

Problem with most stock photo websites is that photographers are paid pennies for each sale, and they have no means to control the price of their pictures.
We want to change that by being able to decide the price of your picture yourself. You will be able to sell your picture for any amount of BLNC you want, use BLNC to buy other services of our platform or convert your BLNC to your EUR/USD wallet. The system will then sell your BLNC at the current market price to people who are buying it at the same time.

Currently, there are many options to build a cryptocurrency, the easiest one being an ERC20 token. Since sending ERC20 tokens and interacting with smart contracts costs gas and we want users to be able to value their own work and decide their own price, we looked into various options of paying for gas on behalf of our users. This would rapidly become a costly experience, making the whole process counterproductive.
Thatís why Birdlance decided to launch its own Proof of Stake Blockchain (based on NXT).

There are also free stock photo platforms, like Unsplash.
The problem with them is that most photographers don't understand the risk of facing a lawsuit as a result of uploading their images to such sites.
The lack of model releases when images are downloaded from such websites and used for commercial purposes being the most important point here.
If a photograph is used in a commercial sense and it is not model released, the photographer is liable. He can be taken to court and sued.
Also we are very skeptical by the number of photographers who are actually benefiting from using those platforms and obviously you'll see some success stories on major photography news websites.
What those platforms do is make a deliberate effort to keep its users informed about how many views their images are receiving, they are just tapping into vanity and dopamine hits with statistics that seem to blow the likes of Instagram out of the water.
But all they actually achieve is that multi-billion dollar multinationals are using photographers' work for free.

On the other hand, 85% of all pictures online are used without permission, our system generates a unique hash of each photo and can store that hash on our blockchain. When derived works are made of this photo, such as mirroring the image, making it black and white, etc, we can trace it back to the original hash.

Hope this clears up your questions!

We shifted our main focus to a decentralized reverse image search engine.

We shifted our main focus to an online service to protect your pictures, illustrations and artwork by submitting them to the Birdlance blockchain. Track where your images are being used online powered by each node in the Birdlance network. Use our developers API  to include image recognition capabilities such as tagging or not suitable for work classifying in your own applications or submit an URL of any image and get a unique hash backed by a blockchain transaction.

this reverse image search portal is only usable to those that are using your platform? how much would the fee be per photo once you are out of beta? have you introduced your platform to professional photographers about this service? those that are famous in this industry who are vulnerable that their works are being copied by others?

The reverse image search on the frontpage is for everyone and can be used without an account. Using the reverse image search is private and we do not save your search images.
The image protect service requires an account.

Our index currently has over 1 million images. In the next node update our reverse image search is integrated with each node in the blockchain. This means that the more nodes the birdlance blockchain network has, the more powerful our reverse image search will become.

Example indexed image you can download and upload somewhere else and get this link back in search results: http://ogsteviestrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Patreon-320-320-300x159.png (http://ogsteviestrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Patreon-320-320-300x159.png)

Our blockchain API capabilities have been extended with a reverse image search developers API.

Calculate Image Hash
Calculate a perceptual hash of an image by using an URL to the image.

Request:
requestType is calculateImageHash
url is the URL to the image

Response:
hash (S) is the perceptual hash of the image located on the URL
requestProcessingTime (N) is the API request processing time (in millisec)

Example:

Request:
http://18.197.116.35:9085/nxt?requestType=calculateImageHash&url=http://ogsteviestrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Patreon-320-320-300x159.png

Response:
{
"imageHash":"f01b07f82fe6f8073a116aac87cb877bfdf86c9a783707e487cc7031044b8c0f","requestProcessingTime":993
}
Perform Image Search

Perform a search by using an imageís perceptual hash or URL.

Request:
requestType is performImageSearch
hash is the perceptual hash of the image; or
secretPhrase is the secret phrase of the funding account
5 BLNC is needed for this request, 4 BLNC gets send to forger of the last block.

Response:
imageSearch (B) is true if the operation completed successfully
requestProcessingTime (N) is the API request processing time (in millisec)

Example:

Request:
http://18.197.116.35:9085/nxt?requestType=performImageSearch&hash=f01b07f82fe6f8073a116aac87cb877bfdf86c9a783707e487cc7031044b8c0f&secretPhrase=IWontTellYou
or
http://18.197.116.35:9085/nxt?requestType=performImageSearch&url=http://www.domain.com/path_to_image.jpg&secretPhrase=IWontTellYou

Response:
{
  "requestProcessingTime": 6396,
  "imageSearch": [
    {
      "image_uri": "http:\/\/ogsteviestrow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Patreon-320-320-300x159.png",
      "phash": "f01b07f82fe6f8073a116aac87cb877bfdf86c9a783707e487cc7031044b8c0f",
      "base_uri": "http:\/\/ogsteviestrow.com"
    }
  ]
}

Whats next?
  • Integrate our reverse image search with each node. Each node will crawl the web to improve our reversed image search. This means that the more nodes the birdlance blockchain network has, the more powerful our reverse image search will become. We will contineously work on improvements to the blockchain to make our reversed image search smarter and self-sustainable.
  • Our indexed data (hash and image url) is too big to store on chain. To be truely succesful we need around 40 billion of crawled image data. Right now this data is centralized. We are working on an OrbitDB(P2P database) to make this decentralized.
  • Integrate our reversed image search APIs in the next node update. Everyone will then be able to use his/her own node for our reversed image search APIs by simply enabling the API functionalities of their node (setting in the properties file).

BLNC coin trading volume on the SatoExchange exchange.
Pairs: BLNC / BTC & BLNC / ETH are still low, why don't you choose a common exchange that is used by the public, not my intention to distort the stock exchange market, but this exchange is not very commonly used by the public, try entering a stock exchange that has a trading volume. which is quite large, this will help increase the trading volume of BLNC coins

Thanks for your feedback! We will definitely work on getting listed on other exchanges too, though we are more focused on our product itself at the moment. A lot of exchanges ask a high listing fee and we tend  to avoid the ones with fake volume too.

yes I hope you do the best for your product, I will wait for that information here, I hope that any information you have to publish here, in my opinion it's okay to enter it into another exchange even though the cost is reasonable, because you buy the name so that it will be younger to get the attention of the general public if you dare to bet to put into another exchange
