I don't see for it to have a significant correlation with crypto.Mastercard might consider on adopting but I would say that the one they are tending to create isn't a crypto.
It do just only make use of blockchain tech but this doesn't included or considered to be a crypto but rather a heavily centralized coin or simply they are just making their

I am surprised to hear such news. Previously, the mastercard had a negative attitude towards cryptocurrencies and forbade banks to issue cards through which the direct withdrawal of any cryptocurrency would be allowed. They probably realized the prospects of cryptocurrencies and made the right decision.

I hope the end result of this will be that mastercard will come up with its own crypto payments service with remittances and other banking services plus the most important a crypto backed fiat mastercard that will be used globally with cheap transaction fee.

I think this is a pointer in the right direction but i also wonder why it took them this long to come to branch into crypto space..Aside from being the future, crypto has proven to be ideal im ecery industry thay warrants a facelift and in my opinion the digital payment processing industry greately requires this technology.

Yes we will get there, at least with these giant companies all looking at cryptocurrency solution to apply to their current system, things would begin to get much more difficult for government now in declaring cryptocurrency illegal and they might start looking for several ways to just adopt the system and then control it, I mean probably regulate it.

There is just a part I am usually not much comfortable with all these their release, I am not comfortable with so many tokens that is being released, it would only be creating unnecessary competition, which will make them not be an investment instrument because how many projects would people have to consider to invest in at the same time, money is yet to circulate within the current ones in the market, talks of these coming like Facebook, gram and many other ones.

I don't see the need for them to create their own currency. They will continue to act as a middle man and collect fees. They may allow you to store your crypto in their cards and pay with them.

Why they need an own cryptocurrency? They offer international payments with TPS rate around 14000+, so what is the main reason behind the own cryptocurrency? Buzzword? Marketing? Doesn't make any sense for me.
