Title: Bitwhisk.io 2.0 - Don't send you coins there. A scammer is behind the comeback.
Post by: logfiles on August 25, 2019, 05:10:14 PM
What happened: Bitwhisk.io closed business in 2018 but the website is online again with different design and intention. Probably a scammer bought the domain.

Scammers Profile Link: Not on the forum yet

Website Link: http://bitwhisk.io
Archived: http://archive.fo/qwb63

Additional Notes:

Bitwhisk.io announced that they were closing business on 5th - November 2018 probably due to funding.

Closing after 5th November
If you want us to stay you may donate, we need around 0.05BTC to pay server's costs for the next 3 months
Their Official Profile on the forum was last online in November 2018. Which implies they really meant it(about closing business)

All of a sudden Bitwhisk.io is online again with domain information indicating that the domain was registered last July

No announcement has been made of the "return" from the previous official profile on the forum

No Announcement on their official twitter too: https://twitter.com/bitwhisk (thanks to @mjglqw (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5177643.msg52225413#msg52225413))

Website design is totally different from the one in the past

As stated by one of the forum members who used the old site when it was still in operation.

The website looked different in the past. I am not even able to enter a discount code which I got when the mixer was founded.

The mixer had been operating for less than a year before it was closed. Bitwhisk mixed only 3 BTC in that period of time with a much lower mixing reserve.

I used it 2 or 3 times for small amounts a year ago. I also did a translation for Bitwhisk and got paid without any problems. However, I did not leave any feedback.

@BitMaxz confirmed (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5177643.msg52228715#msg52228715) that indeed the website design is totally different
basing on a review of the old website: https://bestbitcointumblers.com/bitwhisk-review/

Same bitcoin address to send coins to forwarded to each user

Thanks to @o_e_l_e_o's sharp alertness. He discovered that the so called Bitcoin Tumble was forward the same address to different users which translates to pure scam

So I have just accessed this website from 3 different devices in 3 different browsers and on 3 different IPs, and entered a different addresses to "receive" my mixed coins to each time. On every single instance, it told me to send coins to the same address (14iFzgaa2HcYQ3PiZtsHUxrZzx2LGiWypX), and they would be mixed and sent back to the address I had entered.

If anyone else would like to verify they are also shown the address above, then it pretty much confirms that this is a scam. A scam so poorly set up they couldn't even be bothered to generate a new address for each victim.

The address has already started receiving money from victims as i speak  >:(
