Title: Hashmart Content Creation Contest, Really?
Post by: Astargath on August 29, 2019, 11:57:03 AM
So I participated in this contest held by Hashmart: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5169902.0 and to my surprise most of the winners didn't even use proper English. I'm not saying I should be nr.1 but 6th after this guy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6ysp5BnIIY&feature=youtu.be

The thread states: Video entries should be made in English. (Other Languages will NOT be accepted).
Video entries should focus entirely on Hashmart's unique features and at least 4 minutes long and with human voice only.

That's human? Alright, how about:

-0:39 'Hasmart' services
-0:45 in the future, Hashmart planning to (where is the is?)
-1:01 secondly hashmart take care of everything
-1:15 Hashmart real time mining monitoring just make an account?

etc etc etc

The second winner: https://medium.com/@mafidatulilmi/16-reasons-why-you-should-choose-hashmart-3ca08e6bc7d1

Seriously? Just read a few sentences.

The first prize winner also quite fishy. As per the requirements, the website/blog must be created 3 months earlier, I don't know if his blog was created 3 months earlier. But there's no other article other than the hashmart review which got 64 comments (most probably all fake).
A blog with no previous article written got the 1st prize, isn't it fishy?
His blog- https://onlineoffline6.blogspot.com/?m=1

That's really my concern, if they really think those articles are better than mine, ok, however they are so bad that it makes it look like they participated in their own contest and gave themselves the prizes.

Just watched the Video you shared in the OP and it got me laughing through out ;D
What the hell was the judge high one. English is not my native language but the English used in the video is so poor.

And from the blog that took the first spot... I think there was a typo. The write missed out an "A"
It should be HAHAMART REVIEW

I almost participated in that contest. Thank God i never wasted my time giving Hashmart a free advert.

I only participated because all the article entries seemed so bad. I though, huh, I can definitely win this shit without even trying too hard, turns out they don't give a shit about quality lol.

Thanks for raising your concern. You should get in touch with them on Telegram. Hashmart team alone judged the entries.

We do checked all the entries and used some criteria to choose the one, that we like the most (like: not copy&pasting FAQ, if video - making it understandable for others, the impact that the content had on users - like discussion or rating, etc.). Yes, we have our own opinion, and we are sorry, that it differs from yours.

We can assure, that all the winners are not affiliated to Hashmart (either working for us or being our partners), we have chosen the entries basing on our vision of the content and our sole opinion.

''that it differs from yours. '' It doesn't differ from mine, everyone can see the winners are just shit, you guys are untrustworthy as fuck, worthless company.

Can you check the 1st prize winner and share how he won? What's the criteria you found in his article to announce it as the no. 1?
His blog contains no article other than hashmart, isn't it odd that all of the discussion on that article was done almost in a 2 days (August 27 & 28) and there's no more discussion going on after that day.

As we said, we liked what he posted that is why he won. The number of comments is not the one and only criteria anyway.
We can assure that he is not anyhow  associated with us, if it is your concern.

Don't ever participate in speculative work. It is inherently designed to take advantage of people by paying substandard pittances of payment, wastes the time of many, and produces inferior quality results. It lowers the value of everyone's work in the specific field, just don't do it.

You are right, I know. I simply thought I would easily win after checking the other entries, they were all shit but I guess not.

Lol, that's probably exactly what happened--anyone can run a contest on the internet and have no accountability to anyone and thus can cheat at will.  It's either that, or the contest runners are idiots and can't distinguish good content from shitty content.  The latter is certainly possible, but my guess is that the thing was rigged from the start.

Good advice.  I didn't think people did work on spec anymore, but then again I'm not in the computer or content creation field.

This isn't not a fair campaign management. You could have asked them to do fair contest with your interfere. What was your responsibility in this contest? Bringing more contestants? Isn't it your responsibility to ensure transparent contest?
And people say you are one of the good campaign manager, a manager who don't care for the participants.

How do you know he didn't ask them to be fair?
I don't think there was much julerz12 could do at this point. If he was part of the Judges, then you would blame him.

I already did that. Even way before the contest has started.

Isn't it your responsibility to ensure transparent contest?
How much transparency would you want? 'Cause as far as I'm concern, the list of entries were already listed on a public spreadsheet.

What was your responsibility in this contest? Bringing more contestants?
Yes. I facilitated the contest here on this forum and part of my task is to help spread the word about the contest. What's your point here?

And people say you are one of the good campaign manager, a manager who don't care for the participants.

I can't please everyone. I don't know if you have read the contest thread or not but I'm not part of the panel of judges.
I've made that very clear from the start to ensure that my opinion would not influence the judge's decisions on who the winners are.
