Well, it's not completely anonymous, it's pseudonymous. I don't think it will ever be banned entirely, and if it were to be it would have happened already.

It's become too large to completely ban IMO

Bitcoin is not anonymous, transactions are stored in blockchain which is permanently visible to anyone, remember that. And banning bitcoin worldwide is just a dream, only idiot, incompetent and corrupt government officials would make a bill/law to ban cryptocurrency in their country.

Even its banned on some country people will keep using it because of bitcoin you can spend and do what you want to your money, and that's freedom.

So far, studies conducted in the European Union and the United States have shown that bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies do not pose any threat to global financial stability. Therefore, for now, there is no need to fear that the states will unite and make a general decision to ban Bitcoin. But what will happen in the future, no one can predict. Most likely, cryptocurrency will be transformed to the needs of society and taking into account the current situation with regard to counteraction of cryptocurrency by governments.

How exactly is Bitcoin anonymous? Are you a complete luddite?

It has a public blockchain where the balance of every address is fully visible. What is anonymous about that?

To be fair to OP, it's a fair question to ask. In terms of government opposition to something that isn't 100% transparent to them.

Why should it be get banned worldwide? there are already so many crypto friendly countries in general, so i highly doubt that bitcoin will be ever get banned worldwide.
Bitcoin transactions are not anonymous, you can follow every single transaction transparent on the blockchain. There is a big difference between anonymous and acronymous my friend.  :o

Why would they ban somethings which can make people to pay more taxes? More money for countries.
I fear the day when multiple countries are going to take Bitcoin down. Bitcoin is already used a lot in criminal activities.
So is the money, I don't see that money is banned because of that.
Bitcoin is decentralized and so the banning won't arise because it can't be monitored easily.
With all these KYC's I am pretty sure it can be monitored. You want to buy something online - all "they" need is to ask you your ID's, when revision comes sellers will have to provide to regulatory organs your identification and then you can say by by to anonymity. You want to do "hand to hand" trade with someone? Guess what, someone will eventually exchange crypto -> fiat, exchange will ask them to identify themselves.  Just give authorities some time to regulate all crypto-related things. I hope that you are aware that authorities can force crypto traders to not anonymously trade with other people and to provide them information about source.

bitcoin transactions aren't anonymous. they're just pseudonymous. the blockchain is actually highly transparent. if you're not careful, you can be identified somewhat trivially.

there's only a handful of small countries that have banned bitcoin usage. i doubt the number will grow much higher. most governments seem to realize that bitcoin and cryptocurrency services = valuable economic growth for their countries.

I think banning generally won't be possible. Some countries might ban their citizen from using or exchanging it. Bitcoin is decentralized and so the banning won't arise because it can't be monitored easily.

They can't have the full control of bitcoin transactions. Those who are banning don't have the full grasp of what bitcoin or crypto is all about. I seriously doubt bitcoin will be banned worldwide. The actual scenario is the opposite. The adoption is growing and more crypto users are learning the benefits in dealing with cryptocurrencies. So nope, the scenario of OP will not happen.

Why would they ban it? I mean even if they ban bitcoin people would still use it since despite it not being completely anonymous, there is still no way they can track a user and an address completely that easily. I think they would just let it be there, them just ignoring it until it dies.

How is that possible! Is it going to be banned by the world bank or what. It is v going to be very difficult for anyone to ban the use of bitcoin across the globe. At the least, there are still independent countries in the world whose  governments do not oppose the use of bitcoin by the citizenry.

Bitcoin has got unique features and growth level compared to different other digital assets/investments. It also got multiple usage which makes it more popular than the common ones. Now itself we can see countries that legalize the usage of bitcoin as well countries that are against the usage of bitcoin. This confirms there is no possibility for a ban worldwide.

Maybe ban on some other countries but not in the whole wide world because not all nations have the same Ideology especially those countries who face sanctions from the United States they need to use cryptocurrencies to support their country's currency to somehow support their economy.

It's possible for all countries to ban Bitcoin but it's less likely for all countries to agree on something because people have different opinions and as malboroza mentioned they could increase the tax on exchanges as a way of discouraging bitcoin payments.

How is that possible! Is it going to be banned by the world bank or what. It is v going to be very difficult for anyone to ban the use of bitcoin across the globe. At the least, there are still independent countries in the world whose  governments do not oppose the use of bitcoin by the citizenry.
If there's a ban it's usually the banks and exchanges they'll remove the biggest source of bitcoin transactions.

I don't think so since there are still countries who are positive towards cryptocurrency though they don't fully support it, they are also not fully against it. More possibly that if it gets more attention and adoption, some countries would just regulate it but not to the point they'll ban it.

They won't ban as they are also seeing good potentials from this industry, some might seen different views as there's a lots of opinions about crypto, government have their own understanding it's between the end users and the government rules about crypto, countries who's not against are mostly seeing the benefits and believes that there's real adoptions that will happen in the future.

There may still be many countries that prohibit Bitcoin. But I will be able to talk about the development of Bitcoin in my country. In my country, Bitcoin continues to experience good development and the community is still very enthusiastic to make trades. In my country, Bitcoin has not been set up, but it is still accessible and not banned. The government is still doing a deepening of this blockchain system and as long as Bitcoin is not used as a means of payment, it will not be a problem.

We must be sure of Bitcoin's future.

Now there are so many countries that ban bitcoin, these countries are china, singapore, russia and many more. The reasons are virtual currency is difficult to control, often used for illegal transactions, money loundering and easing terrorist funding. These reasons does look reasonable but it seems that these country have other reasons for their own interests. For example is china, this country ban bitcoin because of these reasons but china plans to create their own virtual currency. Deputy chief payment bank of china said that this virtual currency will not mimic cryptocurrency in general but instead uses a  more complex structure. In my personal opinion, it is hypocritical act.

There was a time when no one knows about bitcoin, now a lot of people hold it. Only a few countries have announced it as illegal. Some countries have no laws for bitcoin, you can use there as well. The adoption is increasing and the chances of being banned worldwide is barely possible.

Bitcoin is already used a lot in criminal activities.
And before the invention of bitcoins there were no criminal activities? And since the bitcoin has invented everyone moved to bitcoins to do their crimes?

It's been over 10 years now and still we are asking the same question.

A country can ban bitcoins but that's not gonna stop it's user to use it. I hope more and more people learn about how money has been created then they will never question bitcoins.

Dollar is not backed up by anything but all other currency is backed by dollar. This is so wrong but fact is that average joe or even the most intelligent human being in the society does not have much clue about this section to find it wrong.

If FED prints dollar then it's okay but if someone gets the printing machine and print the same dollar then it's a crime LOL

The society is in the wrong side. The fiat should be banned worldwide.

The entire power of the protection racket business called "government" is dependent on the monopoly in creating "money" by fiat, declaring "legal tender", looting the population through direct and hidden robbery (aka "taxes" and "inflation"), and controlling all that by issuing banking licenses.

Additionally, the members of these gangs do all that exclusively through coercion, and assert a natural moral right to do so.

So, anything that threatens that, of course, will be "banned" by them, as soon as Bitcoin threatens their business model significantly.

However, so are prostitution, "drugs", "money laundering", "tax evasion" and many other eternal activities "banned" in most territories, even though they present no threat to the "government" business model.
(On the contrary, those are  part of their revenue stream, power and control foundation, in order to be able to declare anyone a "criminal" at any time.)

So, they will for sure ban Bitcoin, once it's a clear and present danger to their profitability, but they will also use it, because it's "criminal money", and they are in reality the biggest criminals at any time in history, and in every culture.
(To kill or rob a few people, takes only one person. To kill or rob on massive, industrial scale, it takes "government"!)

Watch the progress here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory)
(India is almost 18% of the world population; so, if that ban passes, we're well on the way. That gang certainly correctly sees it as a clear and present danger to their business already. )

Let me share an interesting fact about this banning/regulating situation.

Countries that legalized bitcoin - Japan, Germany, USA, European Union, South Korea

Countries that banned bitcoin - Bangladesh, Pakistan, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Chile, India (On the verge of banning)

Reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory

It clearly shows a very interesting contrast of how financially and technologically advanced countries have legalized bitcoin and how third world countries have banned bitcoin. Banning bitcoin worldwide will not give any solution to the current problems countries are facing from the pseudonymous nature of the bitcoin transactions. Rather governments should adopt precautionary measure to eliminate the negative effects of bitcoin and nurture the positive ones.

I don't think a worldwide ban is possible because some major economies of the world (as seen above) have already legalized it for good and banning doesn't offer any solution to the AML and terrorism financing issue. Rather adopting to strict regulatory measures as per the FATF guidelines can be practiced by the countries in coming years!

the whole point of having a decentralized currency is that it should not matter what the governments and the centralized power says about it, in the end if bitcoin (the decentralized currency) could not operate if they banned it then it should be considered failure. which is obviously not the case, bitcoin is resilient to all the shenanigans that any government or all might pull. and that is why it is unique and powerful.

Many countries are now developing businesses in the online field. Even many people have great earnings through online such as online trading, online gaming, and more. With the advent of the crypto industry will definitely add revenue to the results for many people. Bitcoin is one of the coins that until now has a very high selling value.

Any chance to make money will certainly be no risk. Buying and selling items online also have a risk. So I think positively that crypto will not be blocked because some countries have also developed this industry.

It has started based on your own assumption and based on what you read on newspaper or social media, but have you ever wondered what is happening in the real country or asked those who are living in those countries if they have really banned them, and if they have in what way has it really affected the usage of cryptocurrency buy the citizen.

I just read this morning same on this forum where I saw that a crypto owner was murdered by his partners because he refuses to release the details to them, and when I looked at the country, it happened to be India, and you know what we have heard of India, so even if India had banned cryptocurrency, its citizens are still using it is a very big way. In addition, bitcoin is beginning to create some benefits for the government, many countries have been able to gradually accept bitcoin, by the time the government can handle activities from bitcoin, bitcoin will be accepted worldwide

Also there is no such thing as worldwide there are countries and countries ban stuff, unless you believe at conspiracy theories there no such thing as "banned worldwide".

"But you said 'fiat digital money will be used worldwide.', so this means you are contradicting yourself!!!"

There is no contradiction because, I believe at conspiracy theories and under such hypothetical world I believe we are living at, where conspiracy theories are true, making it fiat WORLDWIDE, is a valid thing.

No, because achieving reasonable anonymity with Bitcoin can be very complicated and perfect anonymity may not be possible. This is anonymous in the sense of Bitcoin components, such as addresses, private and public keys, and transactions, all of which are read in string text, such as public addresses, which are not connected directly to anyone's personal identity.

It's become too large to completely ban IMO

I will agree with each of your statements here: Bitcoin will not be banned globally. However, Bitcoin is a conditionally anonymous cryptocurrency, transactions with which do not disclose the names of wallet owners. At the same time, information about transactions is available to everyone, as records of them are stored in the public registry.
hanks to this, you can track and compare the identity of the owner with ongoing BTC operations.

It can't just be banned since it's decentralized to ban it is a tough task. Countries could try to ban bitcoin port, and that way they could avoid nodes to connect, but you don't have to connect to bitcoin port to make a bitcoin transaction, i mean, you can make a transaction from a website, so this is why bitcoin is hard to ban. And when governments realize it will be too late.

How many countries are banning Bitcoin? I don't see the figure as alarming check out this map and you can see that it's not alarming at all
https://cryptonews.com/guides/countries-in-which-bitcoin-is-banned-or-legal.htm in fact the adoption is moving faster than countries banning Bitcoin.

And these countries that are banning Bitcoin will have a change of mind in the future, Bitcoin is something that we cannot ignore, you can ban facilities that use Bitcoin but not, it's people who adopt it, they will always find a way.

You are looking at half empty glass, many countries are going towards regulations rather than bans, however, there is small minority that wants to ban, I hope they realize cryptos are here to stay and make necessary improvement.

Well, it's not completely anonymous, it's pseudonymous. I don't think it will ever be banned entirely, and if it were to be it would have happened already.

It's become too large to completely ban IMO

I will agree with each of your statements here: Bitcoin will not be banned globally. However, Bitcoin is a conditionally anonymous cryptocurrency, transactions with which do not disclose the names of wallet owners. At the same time, information about transactions is available to everyone, as records of them are stored in the public registry.
hanks to this, you can track and compare the identity of the owner with ongoing BTC operations.

How would that allow you to track the identity of the owner? How are transactions from a wallet to other wallets going to give you any indication of who the owner is?

The legal status of bitcoin (and related crypto instruments) varies substantially from state to state and is still undefined or changing in many of them.Whereas the majority of countries do not make the usage of bitcoin itself illegal, its status as money (or a commodity) varies, with differing regulatory implications.Based on the Blockchain platform, everyone can see the transactions with the certainty of the electronic market, I think it will not happen that bitcoin is banned globally. I believe that bitcoin will be a monetary bridge in the context of a normal war that can take place at any time.

I don't think Bitcoin will ever get banned. There are may be people (power people) that will stand firmly against it because it threatens their dominance, but in general I think Bitcoin and blockchain technology is here to stay for good.
Also, I wouldn't call Bitcoin anonymous since everyone can see transactions on blockchain, but I get your point.

Very good but I wonder what happens if everyone hold fiat, gold, and barter or exchange with bitcoin directly.  You will see percentage of real-world BTC transaction percentage trump centralized exchange tumbler transaction that results in lower fees for millions of android and other portable bitcoin direct wallet transactions worldwide...

Also anyone thought the possibility if decentralized exchange (DEX) becomes more accepted and open source development turns it into an reliable and fast trading platform at some point?  since government goes after centralized one using exchange lists and those DEX (such as Bisq successor) becomes more main stream due to stupidly bad privacy and slowness caused by compliance layer created by KYC/AML-centric exchanges?

Lol what a load of crap.

It cannot be monitored easily they struggle to monitor even basic things. It takes much man power. Noone is going to be asking anyone for their ID when purchasing something. Why would you ask for an ID? They can never enforce that its just too much time waste. You don't need to trade crypto to fiat and you can also use places that do not ask for your ID for every little trade. authorities cannot force you to reveal yourself or anyone else for that matter where the hell do you get this info from? You most certainly do not have to provide any source info. Jesus dude what do you think the government can just do what it likes?

There is a big difference between bitcoin and fiat money. In the number of transactions, fiat money is superior because it has been used for hundreds of years while bitcoin is still 10 years old. In addition, I think bitcoin will become a digital asset that will not be widely used as a means of payment at merchants

The government can ban crypto in their country, but they need to block all access to use crypto, which means they need to block internet connection too. If they do this, I wonder what will people react, and I think that will attract a demonstration because of blocking the internet in their country. But what will happen if people can realize about the benefits cryptocurrency for their life and if many people don't use crypto, then the crypto doesn't need to be ban because it will disappear by itself.

It is not possible to block a fully decentralized crypto. Anyone in the world can mine blockchain and move forward its transactions. It does not need any middlemen or organization to operate. So how can the government ban? Who do they ban? The most they can do is ban exchange (provided that 180 nations agree to do it together, not possible), and users have peer to peer transactions options. Then they will need to cut off the world's internet including 3rd world countries like venezuela, africa etc. They couldn't even dictate all nations to ban cryptocurrency exchanges, hence how can they ban bitcoin, simply impossible.

Regulating cryptocurrency is a very simple thing for the government to achieve if they really want to, it would never take them less than days for them to come up with some policy that they will effect and then regulate crypto, but I thing they want to take things easy and see how they will study the use of cryptocurrency properly before regulating it.

Bitcoin transactions are not anonymous because the transaction can be seen in a blockchain but you can't just see who are the owners of the addresses.

There are some countries that banned cryptocurrency in their country but there are still ways to have access into it. I don't see Bitcoin to be banned worldwide because there are some countries that already accepted it and in the succeeding years, I know that more countries and establishments will accept it too.

These big and known companies are helping crypto but yet to come that they are also creating their won currency just like what Facebook did Libra coin.
The massive and continuous growth of Bitcoin users will lead for other many(some) countries who banned now to show some interest with crypto.

Of course, we need to understand also why they never accept it or banned in their place.
Not necessarily we condemn them cause they are doing also what is right and what might give betterness to their citizens for some instances that some people use crypto for fraud and scam which might be a reason why they never open for Bitcoin.

Hmm, basically this question is being asked since the blockchain was produced and implemented. The thing is, all the coins are still running with more and more popularity every other day. Its in the news, governments thinking about new application in their system and private companies are already using the blockchain to help improve their systems.

By system I really mean, a regularised computing power, with secured storage, links, permanent data storage over blockchain. This is making the industries gain more trust over their techs and impress the end users. Now I dont have to mention that this is not with automobiles, or tech companies but also with medicine and Pharma sectors. Data transcription over blockchain is the new sector now.

So where does the bitcoin in this scenario ?

Well, when it comes to use of blockchain then directly or indirectly customers are getting to know Bitcoin in the first place. Let us consider a scenario of curiosity and luck! They usually come and invest for sure side by side! This is indirect marketing of bitcoin through the use of blockchain.

I hope you guys are linking the whole story on how bitcoin won't die or get banned.

The use is actually rising and no one can do anything about it to the extent where it will get banned worldwide. Its pure way of making transactions and most trusted form of digital currency.

Lets agree on one thing that bitcoin is being crucified since it started but it is still running.

Countries in which there is no democracy and is complete control of all branches of power reigns will prohibit Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a way to rid people of government control. However, I hope that civilized and democratic countries, on the contrary, will support digital currencies and will not prohibit them.

those civilised and democratic countries will be open to this new technology as they are not close-minded institutions that will prohibit the advancement of technology. so i dont think the question of the op is still relevant today. slowly, those countries which are hesitant with crypto or bitcoin are now siding with crypto as they understand the immense benefits it will bring to business operations, saving tons of money of ordinary people!

bitcoin from the beginning appeared never to get support from the world or the government,

so even though the government bans, as long as the internet is still there bitcoin will continue to grow, I'm very sure of that. because bitcoin is independent and decentralized.

The only way in which Bitcoin can be "banned" is if a global ban is implemented by the United Nations. And it is still probable that some of the UN members will refuse to comply with the ban. Such a global ban would mean that possession of the cryptocurrency and running of nodes is illegal. But even if the UN goes ahead with a ban, and in case all the member nations support it, destroying Bitcoin is going to take a lot of time and resources. They can seize the mining farms and conduct a 51% attack, but it may turn out to be counterproductive.

I think this is clear enough. some countries do prohibit the use of bitcoin, but that is only limited to use as a currency. however, as a digital asset, investment, or business-related thing, I think until now, it is still supported. some countries even have taxes on crypto transactions, which means they have accepted the development of cryptocurrency. because of that, I don't feel that bitcoin will be banned all over the world.

simply because the government is already too late to stop it, banks worldwide is already putting atm's
and also the government is discussing it in the congress , and what they are doing?
they are trying to control some of it, which means they can't stop it, and now they are going to legalized
bitcoin, but they will put something just to make a grasp of it, because bitcoin can be use by criminals but to banned it
I don't think they have to full power to do that, its decentralized

There are countries that ban bitcoin and there are also countries that accepts bitcoin, the good thing is that there are more countries who are accepting bitcoin compared to countries who ban it.

We can see some list here https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/041515/countries-where-bitcoin-legal-illegal.asp.

I believe those countries who have not regulate bitcoin yet will turn positive in the future, because bitcoin and crypto as a whole is unstoppable when major adoption is taking place and it's the right of the people to use what they believe is helpful or an improvement and the government has to regulate it.

Bitcoin has more good features than bad, but countries that were against cryptocurrency used to indicate the bad and go for a ban. This has been changing slowly as more and more committees formed on different countries to determine the need for Cryptocurrency has been giving positive signs. Today India too has understood the importance and the committee has praised and usage of cryptocurrency. This means there is more chances for legalization, and it is sure more countries will legalize and worldwide ban is impossible.

Those countries that ban bitcoin in their county can take their country out of bitcoin, but can’t take bitcoin out of their ountry., bitcoin is here to stay,  there won't be any time to complete come for the worldwide banning of bitcoin,

I have no doubts that if a huge economic crisis happens then many countries will begin to ban cryptocurrencies, gold and any other medium other than their fiat currencies you could use to transfer value from one person to another, but such attempts will fail as people will see that those governments are not trying to improve their economic situation but instead are trying to maintain the facade of a working economy, but as long as a few countries remain where you can still use and trade your bitcoin then such policies will be useless.

Banning bitcoin is completely impossible. A country may ban the usage of bitcoin, but the can never ban the coin itself. Look at those torrent sites were pirated and cracked versions of software, music, videos, movies etc are found. They still exists and the world couldn't even ban torrenting even though the tried hard and is still trying. Thats the same case with crypto currencies. Even if the government tries to ban bitcoin, they won't succeed. Again, countries that have completely banned bitcoin are the once that are corrupted and underdeveloped.

A single country might banned bitcoin but this will not be completely banned especially now it's becoming very famous not just as a virtual currency but as a very potential investment. People will surely be wanting bitcoin as much as other people are craving bitcoin for their own.

Try to think positively that Bitcoin will not be banned, but many countries will develop this industry. The positive impact that Bitcoin provides is enormous, as many people start to get rich, many people are now no longer idle, and many people have the convenience of having transactions using Bitcoin.

This kind of thing underlies me to think positively about Bitcoin. Even my country started reviewing Bitcoin.

This crypto journey is not 2 or 3 years old but has long been running. So the industry experienced very rapid development. Although controversial, until some countries have banned Bitcoin. But there are still many countries that accept Bitcoin, although there are some rules that should not be done. As my people, Bitcoin is still accessible and many people make a profit. But Bitcoin should not be a means of payment as a substitute for local currency.

The global banning that I think is not going to happen.

No, i don't think it will get banned entirely coz there are countries who already adapt bitcoin and they even make it as a payment in some stores. One example is JAPAN, their Government is very smart coz they know that Bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency can actually help in terms of economy. I wish our country would see crypto like that but nah our banks are threaten.

I fear the day when multiple countries are going to take Bitcoin down. Bitcoin is already used a lot in criminal activities.

Before Satoshi thought of developing a system which will provide a peer to peer decentralized ecosystem, criminal activities existed and people already had they way of making transactions without getting caught. You can't tell me that Bitcoin is behind the existence of criminal activities. It is quite useless to think that Bitcoin can be taking down. Bitcoin is here to stay..

Technically, you cannot ban Bitcoin world wide, except if you ban the Internet. So, as long as Internet will continue to exist, Btc will exist, also.

Popularity of Btc increased significantly during last years, so governments will be more interested in regulating Btc than banning it to get more money to their budgets.

Bitcoin will get banned in a certain country since the governments of the world are really against the Bitcoin for it would erase the banking system and the government could not get taxes from it but it would not get banned worldwide.

@saaayyyeeel there’s no mechanism to ban bitcoins, even if the governments were to ban bitcoins on paper how will they be able to stop the transactions. The biggest benefit that bitcoin has that no one knows who’s trading with whom, hence the government will never be able to find the identity of the person’s who are buying and selling it. Also many banks are now allowing their clients to hold money in bitcoins, hopefully all the countries will soon realise that they should legalise bitcoins and earn from it rather than ban it.

I don't think that is possible. Bitcoin has got a huge supporter and with us, bitcoin is going well. It's true that some nation has outlawed bitcoin for various purpose but still, it didn't stop the progress of bitcoin. So, I am not noticing any clue for making bitcoin banned worldwide. And many countries have already banned bitcoin but people are still using it with a VPN.

Bitcoin is running successfully for 10 years and I hope it would keep progressing without any Barrier.

Banning bitcoin worldwide is possible if the government unite in that decision.

They are the government, they have the rights to regulate and even ban bitcoin, however, banning does not mean it will stop the system, bitcoin will still remain and there will still be a lot of transactions in the market since no one can stop the miners from doing their thing, therefore, the government should see this, they can ban bitcoin but they cannot stop it.

bitcoin from the beginning appeared never to get support from the world or the government,
bitcoin developed until now purely because of the wishes of the people,
so even though the government bans, as long as the internet is still there bitcoin will continue to grow, I'm very sure of that. because bitcoin is independent and decentralized.
I agree. Crypto is developed without any regulations from the government so it wont be easily banned all over the country because it existence depends on how long the internet will live on the network. Nothing can stop but the bitcoin itself for it to banned as it gain popularity and many are benefitted from it.

How can it be banned if no one controls it? Bitcoin already has a big contribution to our current technology. Transactions improved a lot because of it, you can pay lower fees when sending compared to banks. You can even send overseas anytime and anywhere. If bitcoin will be banned, people will still find a way to use it because the convenience it gives to us is very helpful.
People who already learned how to use this system will always find the way to continue using it, the benefits of sending transactions between boarders without any interfering from the banking institutions, with that particular usage people will start to learned that this system is not just an instrument for investment store value but a real usable tools to deal with payment transactions  directly between two wallet holders.

In fact for people who don't know yet about how Bitcoin works, they are still hesitant to accept the existence of this coin. They are afraid to deal with this currency which has fluctuating values and fairly advanced technology that is difficult for ordinary people to understand. Bitcoin will not be banned it's just that we can make them believe.

Even if government made decisions to banned Bitcoin worldwide(though I doubt it will happen )we will find another way mate because this is part of our life and dreams to be freed from another party’s interfering and this is what bitcoin brings us from the very day we entered crypto

There will be no chance that the world can stop us from using and progressing bitcoin because we are the one who’s responsible for this.not unless we stopped buying and using crypto there is no way it will be banned

Take an hour to explain Bitcoin?  That's really the issue.  Not sure this person understands it enough to explain it well themselves.

A lot of people want to explain every detail about Bitcoin, and explain their own viewpoints on everything regarding each aspect of the technology such as why it has value etc...

People can't digest that much information, it really needs to be summed up in a very holistic view that people can understand easier.

I give zero chance for Bitcoin to get banned worldwide in the future. In contrast to it, Bitcoin will be accepted by more countries as the time goes. Then, Bitcoin price will fly at the same time.
Even if more countries will continue banning bitcoin, it won't reach to the point that bitcoin will be banned worldwide. There are still countries who are very open to crypto particularly bitcoin and knows the benefits of having bitcoin not just as a good currency but also as a great asset or investment. Governments might be against bitcoin for now but i know that there will come a time that it will be legally accepted and adopted.

Bitcoin will not be banned. Only after FATF recommendations coming into force transferring BTC in a legal way would become more complicated, as there will be required much more KYC of both sending and receiving parties.

Only undeveloped and developing countries would try to ban Bitcoin. They are fear of what they cannot control. Some of the developing countries who are banning BTC (South Korea) will eventually have to change their mind. With a very intensive integration from the U.S to make Bitcoin as a part of the financial world, other countries cannot just stand by and wait for the chance to slip out of their hands.
What those governments are not realizing is that bitcoin is going to bring great prosperity to the countries that adopt it the fastest since they will get a competitive advantage over the other countries that will be difficult to overcome and if they ban bitcoin they will miss on those benefits, but in a way I understand their posture, they know that bitcoin can be detrimental to the control they have over the economy and their citizens and they do not want to lose it even it means that their country is not as prosperous as it could be.

Anonymity is not a problem to be feared. If that becomes a reason for illegal actions such as money laundering, terrorist activities, drug trafficking, black markets, etc. it depends on the user. In fact, BTC and other cryptocurrency provide many benefits related to the progress of human civilization related to buying and selling transactions. Until now, many countries have legalized cryptocurrency transactions even with certain limitations.

Presently it has no impact on traditional fiat or banking system because people use it for now, for asset purpose, and the usage as currency is still very low, but wait till the currency usage of it becomes very high, you will see many government trying to see what they can do to stop it which would have been too late by then, and this is why they ought to have accepted it now and then think of a way of regulating it, but because of the money the system is bringing to their country, they would rather just let it be for now.

Look at United states now, there are so many people that are trading and we have highly intelligent trader who would hardly lose their trade even when they go on leveraging, so as they trade, they definitely do change the money to fiat and back to the traditional bank.

Many countries issue a ban on Bitcoin, but many countries accept Bitcoin as a type of FIAT like in the Philippines. Bitcoin could be taken around the world if it approved by major countries like China and the United States as a currency. That will help Bitcoin create a viral effect, and it will accept around the world.

Anonymity has always existed and will exist; people have the right not to tell banks what exactly they spend money on. This is not necessarily something forbidden, illegal or immoral, just ordinary shopping for ordinary people. There has always been cash for this purpose, a fairly anonymous payment method. Cryptocurrencies should not be prohibited worldwide, because they have a similar purpose as well as fiat currencies. A new era is approaching, progress is moving forward, one kind of anonymity is being replaced by another, more technological and convenient. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies must change people's minds sooner or later, governments of all countries will accept Internet money.

Transactions are more anonymous if you use Monero, so no need to blame only bitcoin for it, money laundering and etc. Also you may know Linux is a great thing along with VPN and Tor's combination for good anonimity, will they ban all of this too? Oh, they want to fix transaction availability? How will they ban it? Don't they think that even if they succeed there will be even better and harder way which will be far worse for governments to fix? I think it will be better if they won't repeat over and over that bitcoin is used for money laundering and this coin is danger for us. They are the real dangers which needs to be fixed, not bitcoin and freedom.

I think it will not be banned, even many countries have made Bitcoin legal, even now Bitcoin is much in demand in the technology era now, many investors and big companies have made bitcoin as a currency in the digital world As a necessity in online business. And there are some countries that already have physical coin Bitcoin.
Big companies just follow the demand of the people, they are seeing that bitcoin has a great potential to be a payment system, therefore they are adopting on it to get the market of the people who are bitcoin enthusiast, sooner or later, the adoption will grow and since they adopted early, they will also reap the benefits in the long run.

Like us ordinary people, we are investing because of the limited supply of bitcoin and we saw its potential, so based on supply and demand, its expected that BTC's value will rise as the demand increases.

Then that would not happen too.

There are a lot of people that are wanting to use Bitcoin, not only Bitcoin but other cryptocurrencies too because they want to take advantage of the decentralization of it.

If that would be under control, I don't think that would be good for it. And what is the purpose of the decentralization if the government control it?

Can't turn off the internet now really. Could shut down parts of it, and it would return as soon as people find ways around. Satellite. Shortwave radio, even direct cable. People rebuild quicker than we think.

Bitcoin even easier to restore if the main internet infrastructure is still intact. I do foresee some big or major outage one day, but only in parts of the world and only again because of internet.

If they can't see who the owners are, then they will not be able to tax the cryptocurrency then, and this is what I feel is the major problem of government with bitcoin, but they fail to realize that even in taxing fiat has not been easy, they don’t get to even tax everyone easily.

Government are supposed to look beyond the tax benefit of cryptocurrency but the main economy benefit, cryptocurrency is such a system that generates huge amount of money that I am sure that the operator will generally pay his tax when due, and moreover, people will still one way change the currency to fiat which will definitely pass through their bank, and from there, they can place their tax on the bank account owner, I think these are the chances they still see that has made them not to ban cryptocurrency.

Banning Bitcoin entirely in the world is impossible because it will depend on each country. Let the government do their job since Satoshi already do his job to make a currency that will give everyone the freedom to use it without the government controlling your hard-earned money.
It will not happen as there are a lot of countries who benefit on bitcoin, especially the poor countries, and we have to remember as well that troubled countries due to high inflation can use bitcoin to save their money, and these people will be fighting for their right to use bitcoin.

The technology that bitcoin brings which is the blockchain is revolutionary, so it's not good to ban it when it's the father of blockchain.
Government should just find a way to regulate it and satisfy people, that way they can also make money from taxes.

many countries? on the contrary, I believe bitcoin and blockchain technology has been getting more attention and adopton of late. No country can boldly tell you it likes bitcoin as it is not controlled by the government, but that's what makes bitcoin the greatest and most decentralized accepted currency out there

Attention can be positive or negative. Bitcoin caught the attention of the Indian government during the demonetization exercise of 2016, as a lot of people with unaccounted funds rushed to purchase crypto. As a result of that, they entrusted the finance secretary (Subhash Chandra Garg) to come up with a policy to deal with a cryptocurrencies. He recommended jailing anyone holding cryptocurrency by up to 10 years, but luckily he was fired by the government after locking horns with the RSS.

News on Portugal

They both decided to allow full trading of any coin to coin with no taxes or reporting.

Pretty much the exact opposite of what  you are asking.

Knowing humanity  I can see a spilt and some nations  will go all out to protect while others will go all out to attack it.

What I can not see is all nations agreeing to ban it.

Even if there are people out there that are avoiding paying their taxes in fiat the governments can always use the inflation tax to tax the wealth of the people since they are free to print as much money as they want, but in the case of bitcoin they cannot do this because as we know there is a limit to the amount of coins that are going to exist, this is very problematic for them especially in this time and age where they have problems to find the necessary funds to run the government, if cryptocurrencies become widely adopted it is to be expected that their tax revenue will go down.

I also see no reason to ban Bitcoin.  Today, all governments are more likely to gang themselves up against a project like Libra, rather than stick sticks in Bitcoin wheels.  Today, there is already very often talk about the legalization of Bitcoin, which is quite beneficial for any state, since all the finances of the cryptocurrency market will be controlled and taxes will be paid by users.  In addition, control of the cryptocurrency will by no means harm the fiat currencies.

Highly doubts, I just like to think positive about bitcoin. Yes, few countries trying to ban and on the other hand few countries encourage to legalise bitcoin. I have heard even few countries trying to learn about blockchain technology how its working. Those are really want to ban they have lack of knowledge about blockchain and they are worried about their centralized banking system. If worldwide government try to ban bitcoin then it would be use on black market. So crime rate would increase overall. That's why I don't think it will happen near future.

Bitcoin, the crypto currency, has become huge in popularity over the recent years.

One of the main features i like about bitcoins is its transactions are anonymous. But that makes me wonder if a time will come when it will be banned worlwide. It has started in many countries.

As long as there is internet worldwide, you're question is not going to happen in my own personal opinion.
Bitcoin nowadays was very popular all over the world, from traditional business, online business, and etc.
They adopted bitcoin system as not just a mode of payment but mostly as an investment form in different countries.

It can get banned, but it can't get stopped.

A government banning bitcoin is just acknowledging it's power, making more people want to buy it and hold it.

The game theory is very strong when it comes to this interaction of bitcoin vs. government.
