I tried get it from some BTC test faucet, however the allowed amount is pretty small per hour, e.g. 0.01 BTC testnet per hour.

How many have been mined anyway? Maybe there's 5 million out there, the only problem is where are they, who has them, do they even have the private keys or are they lost already.

Before anyone try to build their product/service and put it live, they always need to test it to see if there isn't any issue/bug/vulnerability. And that's what the testnet is for. I myself already played with tBTC while doing some stuff with NodeJs. |
