In every industry or market, there will always be people whom many loves and many hates. And in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, there is no exemption here. While hating is not a good business, expressing some dislike can be a healthy one.

As far as being hated, I can think of at least two personalities, and we know why many don't like them: Roger Ver the man behind BitcoinCash and of course Craig Wright who earned the moniker as "faketoshi" as he is continually claiming to be the real guy and behind the Bitcoin SV (the original Bitcoin, according to its site).

Can you add more, please.

Roger Ver and Craig Wright are truly hated by the bitcoin community and we cannot deny since they are famous in a negative way. Also we have John Mcafee who is hated because he brings bad image to cryptocurrency. He was defined as delusional and crazy and he is a laughingstock in bitcoin community. We also have David Gerard who has a passion on attacking bitcoin, he has a lots of blogs attacking not only bitcoin but the whole cryptocurrency network.

Craig Wright probably holds the crown due to his lies about being Satoshi Nakamoto. Not to mention the entire BCH hard fork incident which basically caused another market crash last November.

Don't forget about Peter Schiff, he always hated bitcoin and keeps on saying that don't trust bitcoin although it was reported that he admitted to receive a decent amount from A.Pompliano.

There's also Jamie Dimon that eventually exposed that he's into accumulating it.

Don't forget John McAfee who was once a renowned bitcoin evangelist turned scum simply because of his greed. He has been promoting shitcoins and has been shilling over them for quite some time now. His 2020 vision of bitcoin reaching $1M together with the words " I now predict Bitcoin at $1 million by the end of 2020. I will still eat my dick if wrong." I only have 3 people/companies that come to mind.

Craig Wright, fakes being Satoshi and currently has an open case where he's claiming that he is the creator of bitcoin due to some coffee stained papers.

John McAfee, gave crypto-currencies and ICOs a bad reputation by doing nothing for the projects he was involved in, whilst charging huge prices for them.

JP Morgan, first they don't acknowledge BTC and then keep changing perspectives to make sure they make money.

Certainly, there are some personalities which the Bitcoin community (or at least some of the people within) do hate, though sometimes not really in a bad way but just an expression of disagreement and opposition to what they said especially against Bitcoin. So this is akin to the case of fans of a certain entertainment artists defending their idol against the harsh critics.

As to Craig Wright, I feel that he is topping anybody's list as he is unwavering in claiming to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto even if a mountain of evidence suggest that he is just a liar. Maybe we should give the crown to him as the Most Hated Man in the crypto space. Hope somebody can be making a crown for him.

Let me just add Jamie Dimon the Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, the largest of the big four American banks, who got the ire of the community because of his intense criticism on Bitcoin but we later found out his firm is actually engaging in Bitcoin too...he is then considered to be a big hypocrite.

I am not so sure if we can also add Mark Zuckerberg to this list but I think there are also some who don't like his involvement in the cryptocurrency market by introducing the pseudo-cryptocurrency Libra. This remains to be seen if eventually the man can use his remaining charm to attract the crypto market to his side.

Mark Karpeles must surely have been the champ back in the day. Now he's a fox who all the girls and boys want to pull into bed, but at the time he was the non verbal slob who fucked everything and noodled as everything burnt.

gavin andresen and mike hearn were once at the top of the list. they tried to hard fork bitcoin to 8x the block size limit and added a TOR blacklisting feature. i haven't heard much from them in the last few years though.

brian armstrong (coinbase) and peter smith (blockchain) also got a lot of flack for using their platforms to pressure people into the 2x hard fork. jihan wu as well. they've all wised up and become much more tight-lipped recently.

these days, team faketoshi takes the cake.

I would add Warren Buffett to this list, a man who is highly respected in the business world for the enormous wealth he has earned during his life. But he has always had a very negative opinion of Bitcoin, and he never hesitated to say it publicly. Although I respect every man's right to his opinion, I think he has done a great deal of damage to Bitcoin with his statements.

Nonetheless, many in this community continue to respect him and defend his views which really seems a bit odd when we read his statements about Bitcoin itself and people who have something to do with it.

Roger&Faketoshi are certainly two characters who are highest on the list of hated people, without any doubt for very good reasons.

How about Game-Protect?

With his personality I'm sure a lot hated that guy for trolling almost all the casino threads in the forum. I know he isn't that much of a very well known personality in crypto but I guess users has something to say about who's who in the community. There are lots more here who could be hating someone but game-protect certainly stands out.

The biggest villain in the cryptocurrency world is for sure Craig Wright, he is such a cancerous person and doesn't feel ashame of himself trying to claim the position of being the owner and dear creator of bitcoin, such greediness.
Surely he did a big negative impact with his sayings about bitcoin, it is normal knowing how big Warren Buffett's name is and how many supporters he has.

He's a cocksuckerprickmotherfucker but what actual harm has he done compared to others? He has a hand in an irrelevant fork of an irrelevant fork. He makes plenty of noise. I haven't detected many actual effects.

Hated personalities in the world of bitcoin according to my choice, which always gives a negative opinion of bitcoin.
Which of the following people has made bad news about bitcoin and is not liked by the bitcoin community.

1. Craig Wright, this person is too confident that he is satoshi nakamoto the creator of bitcoin. In fact there is no proof
    it was also stated that he was the original Satoshi Nakamoto.
2. John McAfee, this person is lying too much and hallucinating. Assume he's a cryptocurrency expert, but almost all of his predictions
    wrong.And always promoting shitcoins.
3. Warren Buffett, a successful investor who always views bitcoin negatively. Mentioning delusional bitcoin, causes the market
    destroyed because of his negative revelations in various media.

Hopefully the people above are aware of their bad behavior, and can accept bitcoin is the future.

How about Dr Doom aka Nouriel Roubini?

I'm not sure he's one of the most hated people in the crypto community, but I know he has quite a few people who have a kind of hate-love against him.

I'd agree about Buffett.  He should be disrespected as a hypocrite and liar, not just because he has pontificated about bitcoin when he understood nothing about it.  He wants everyone else to pay higher taxes, but when he has the chance to do so he put tens of billions into his foundation so it doesn't have to pay taxes.  Just like Bill Gates and a lot of other billionaires on the left, they have a "do as I say, not as I do" mentality - lower your carbon emissions, never mind that I have 100,00 sq meters of living space, fly private jets around the world, and have a fleet of cars.

I love how they say he "foresaw the financial crisis."  He has been predicting a financial crisis for decades, hence the moniker "Dr Doom".  A stopped clock is right twice a day too. Just because eventually he is correct, doesn't mean he foresaw it.  If a 20 year old predicts a financial crisis "this year" EVERY January 1st, eventually she'll be correct even though it had NOTHING to do with being prescient, just persistently wrong for many years before being right eventually.

For me it's John Mcafee, he is a total piece of crap. Being optimistic regarding bitcoin is one thing and promising to eat your own dick if the price doesn't reaches upto a certain level is totally another. Moreover, since 2017 he has been using his influence to introduce various fake pumps and dumps into the market. Not to forget about his recent decentralized exchange which to me doesn't looks decentralized at all. He has zero sanity when it comes to cryptocurrency. I say he is the biggest virus made by an antivirus company.

craig wright he is truly a shameless fraud even though many of the exchanges who hate the presence of craig wrigth like changpeng zhao binace exchange are very angry with craig wrigth and binace exchange once also call it fraud, and if indeed craig wrigth is satoshi it must be able to prove their identity and now their binace exchange has decided to remove bitcoin SV (BSV) from the list of traded cryptos because of the controversy with craig wrigth.

If you take more radical Bitcoiners, aka Bitcoin maximalists, then any prominent altcoiner is hated by them, unless they support Bitcoin (like Charlie Lee or Fluffypony). If a person talks shit about Bitcoin just to promote their own coin as a "better solution", if they spew technobabble and make grandiose claims without showing any real results, then it's well justified, and on practice this is quite often the case. Those things are a sure sign that the person is dishonest and only wants to enrich themselves at the cost of their "community", rather than actually being passionate about the software.

You can't talk about the most disliked personality in the cryptocurrency industry without calling John McAfee. And the good thing is that he seems to enjoy it.
He is a businessman who knows how to hype a business for personal gain and I think almost all business person do this but just don't overdo it.
Looking at it in another perspective, the more you hate him, the more followers he has.

Not all the time, these two business tycoons aren't just doing these things for them, they are coordinating with some famous cryptocurrency individuals who backed them up to proved their existence and identity. Craig Wright might not be the creator of bitcoin, but he knows allot about it, he and his team made the bitcoin SV. For me, knowing who the creator of bitcoin is doesn't really help that much. What we need is to appreciate this creation and worry less about these people.

When you mention these, McAfee is probably one of the most prominent figures. Lots of scammy projects use his name with his consent (maybe he get millions of tokens for that) and encourage his follower to buy and pump it.

A few months later, the tokens are dead.

Mcafee can be added but the guy is very bullish on Bitcoin and has a strong belief that Bitcoin will reach 1 million, nobody here thought of that only him, we should praise him just for this, Craig Wright is the most hated for committing the grave sin of claiming to be Satoshi, but the community is wiser to believe that he is, because he cannot do the simple thing of opening the wallet that Nakamoto own.

That of Warren buffett is quite understandable. The crypto market is not one of the brightest in the world. When one critically looks at the high number of exit scams, dead altcoins and valueless proposition projects then Warren's reasons are not far fetched. But for Roger ver and Craig Wright, Theirs isn't. They're are constantly trying to divide the crypto community. They even went as far as pushing for a fork. Now they didn't stop at forking, they went on to cause more controversies. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not a fan of either but I do respect whatever opinions and theories they might have.

Craig is actually one of the most hated yet still has the guts to show off in different crypto conference. There are still people who are claiming to be the fake Satoshi but still got nothing but hatred from people. Mcafee is also known to be one of the most hated figures in the crypto industry. He has done lots of scam projects which ruined his own reputation.

Gerald Cotten, the director and owner of the Quadriga CX exchange, took millions of dollars of other people's money with him to the grave. He turned out to be a fraudster and a deceiver whom deceived users hate even now a year after his death

You just made me laugh and well "cry" all because your post made my memories with Bitconnect come back. I was actually one of the people who believed and supported Bitconnect and though overall I never lost money with that program it still pained to see it go leaving many victims with nothing but empty bags of promises. It was a little bit of an advanced ponzi scheme that uses its own cryptocurrency to pumped up things. Up to now, I still do not know for sure the very people who started Bitconnect though I heard that some arrests have been made. With the program has no faces of people identified as the leaders,  Carlos Matos from New York (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitconnect) became its meme symbol. Months ago, there was a report that BCC is coming back but of course nobody doesn't want to be fooled again...no matter if they promised the whole heaven and Earth.

The funnny thing is I've hardly ever heard anyone say anything negative about him. I guess he's so ludicrous it's kind of hard to and he himself was a victim too, or so he claims.

It's the other slimy fucking creeps pushing it on youtube who should attract everyone's ire. It looks like the law may well catch up with them.

I think Craig wright alone has made up the hatred that we will ever have for 10 people and I think this guy is still the most hated person to me. Sometimes, if I even see him, he irritates me a lot because I think that he is just a fool in adult’s cloth because no sensible person will just wake up and start claiming what he knows that people are not fool to verify.

Does he really want us to just start believing that he is the real satoshi when he does not have any special magic to hypnotize the whole of the cryptocurrency users? Most people that are quite involved in cryptocurrency right now are people that are very wise and highly intelligent which I know they will never ever just take a word like that without strictly verifying the truthfulness in it.
