Title: Earning crypto on games - are you serious?
Post by: btc_love on October 17, 2019, 01:57:45 PM
I'm seeing a lot of posts and top-lists with the best crypto games lately. At the moment there’s a huge selection of crypto games online starting from simple casino slots and finishing by shooters, 3D action, and exploration games. I see a lot of promos, articles, etc, but I never heard of the efficiency of those games for their users. Take this (https://changelly.com/blog/the-best-crypto-games-2019/) top-5 for example. Does anyone even play it? Are you doing it for fun, or is it really a profitable way of earning crypto?

How relevant are blockchain games and is it possible to make any profit on them? By 'making any profit' I mean an alternative to trading, mining, etc.

casino games are at most games of chance (when they are not scammed), so you can win, but also loose.
I'm not into it, but I've recently made an experience using Bethash as I receive some of their tokens from bounty... gained some, lost some, and in the end lost almost everything  ;D
it gambling was profitable, than casino owners would be poor
poker games are a different thing, for example

Here I am not talking about the casino or gambling because I think this is not something strange getting money from it or lose it. But I am talking about other game based on Blockchain,
there are people doing it for the sake of profit, this game as an example https://loom.games/en/. The more you play the higher the chance for you to get a good card, and the card itself can be sold at their marketplace for real money. You do not need to spend any money just play it if you are lucky you will get a good card that can be sold for a few bucks, it is very profitable right? because you do not have to spend anything but there is a chance for you to get a few bucks or even more by playing it.
But if you are asking me, at this stage other than gambling the main point for them launching games based on blockchain is for introduction. Letting people know what blockchain can do in every aspect.

It has risk. The games that they are pertaining to are gambling games using cryptos. There's a huge increase on the population of the gambling sites nowadays which are using cryptos as the mode of payment. It is profitable to some but since it depends on one's luck, there's no assurance of winning. We just cannot blame those who were hooked up into it because they cannot make profit from their investments at this moment. They probably moved into such activity to have an alternative source of income using their holdings.

Casino games should not be consider as earning unlike in trading, sine it's mostly about our luck and we can't do it often. It's like risking since there are no indicators that can help us identify whether there's a chance to get the reward, that combinations or whom among those in race will win. Some are really lucky enough in gambling but even them for sure didn't play often unless they are already addicted in it.

Never played them (games looks like a total waste of time for me), but I don't think it's totally worthless. Besides it might be something about pioneering - I mean if you came to the sphere before it became too popular, you may actually earn something.

And CryptoPets  which is a blockchain based game to collect, trade, and train digital creatures across virtual worlds.

I know a lot of people who earn very good money on blockchain games. I would even say that they earn much more than many traders, but in order to be like them you will have to learn very well to understand this

I guess this is similar to blockchain games so the rewards from it will not be huge enough to consider it as way of earning cryptos,we may consider it as small incentive for playing this but better way of earning cryptos is to go with trading than mining as well.

You cannot replace mining (if profitable in your place) and trading to the games in your list. Those games are highly based on luck. The games are like the games in land based casino where you cannot expect high chance of winning. Unless it is poker. But if you really want to try gambling for profit then dice sites have better chances of winning because they have low house edge. Primedice, Bitsler, Bitdice to name a few are one of the most popular here trusted by high ranking people in this forum.

Another form of gambling that is not based purely on luck is sports betting. Nitrogensports and Cloudbet are the also the most popular in this forum.

Now I'm thinking if I should ask not to promote any games in here...  :) There's already 5 games named in the article, that would be enough for giving an example.

I was playing game like snake xenzia by the end of 2017, that game really paid me. I think that is one of dev strategy to tell their coin except using airdrop or bounty method. As long as no deposit to play the game why not try? If  you must  deposit first to play, it can be scammers idea to steal our money. Careful!

Not familiar with these games but the only I have tried so far is the Reality-Clash which I have dumped its token already since the team doesn't really have plans to add the token to a serious exchange. But I still have about 12 weapons with BTC skins I can't sell. I'm stuck with it. We don't earn anyone by playing it by the way I'm not sure about those other games.

Hash Rush looks very interesting with their Rush Coin and a number of character skins ERC721.

some time ago there were still many games that could provide some bitcoin with a very small amount of the game you are playing, but for now it seems like there are no more games that can provide such benefits, many games are currently increasing their bitcoin to can enjoy the benefits to be gained when storing bitcoin in large quantities at the end of the year like this.

For my 2 years in cryptocurrency, I am hearing a lot of crypto games such as these and you'll be earning crypto coins. I really don't like participating in this type of games even though I'm a gamer since it's like an airdrop thing, but in here you'll be playing. But, I don't really want to play their games because it's so dull and you're earning in micro mode.

Blockchain games that are still popular today and are still widely used, namely casinos, risk a lot of projects that have sprung up in casino games, even for many users, but in my opinion to get crypto not from games but from trade and investment, but many also say that casino games are very interesting, but in my opinion it's not the best for profit.

Developers are finding ways how to maximize the use of blockchain, trying to adopt the system and bringing entertainment to attract and to inform
more people that the system is workable with new technology, though regarding to bonuses like earning rewards out from the game you will be playing
you need to have skills to achieve certain goals that the developers set up, not sure how the team accumulates funds but if it's free to join and you have the knowledge then why not try your luck, enjoying while earning from your activities.

Game with the adoption of cryptocurrency blockchain is currently not much developed. But games that remain in interest are casino games that can indeed get a lot of profit if you are smart in casino games. I myself am less interested in crypto games, because the development is not serious and eventually abandoned. We are not focused and enjoy the game, but looking for profit as much as possible while the development support is inadequate.

In playing games in the cryptocurrency world of course we have to spend crypto capital first and if we are good at playing the game then the benefits we get in the form of crypto too, but all there is a risk we are not easy to play the game, and crypto games are not much interested because the development of the game is lacking.

There are few "Blockchain" games that reward players in cryptocoins, example of such games is https://bitracer.io/  but am not sure if you can earn much from playing the game unless you're lucky and win something.
I haven't tried any Blockchain games before though.  I would suggest you ask this question on gambling discussion section. You could get a better answer there.

I've played some of the blockchain based games. If you play them for fun just like any other mmorpg than you would be perfectly satisfied. I'm really a fan of mmorpg whether they are text based or graphical, it's always fun to compete with other real people. But if you intend to earn than you'd be surely disappointed as they pay very few tokens that mostly have a negligible value.

But the feeling of playing inside of the casino is really addictive since it is quite boring that you are just playing with yourself not considering the fact that multiplayer games induces a considerably fun and exciting feeling when playing it compared to just being alone, and not having someone who can accompany us to our day to day activities that involes crypto investment.

From my experience there is one story of my participation in promoting the UnicornGO game, can anyone remember this. It all started very badly, beautiful design of the game, unicorns were chosen as the main characters of the game. Everything was going well and by all criteria the game was supposed to start and get success. However, this did not happen. I mean success. The game started, but something went wrong and those who invested in the game, played it and could not earn, but only lost. Why did this happen? I believe that this is a flaw in the administration. At some stage, the views of the team members changed and no one needed the game. I believe that this awaits most of these games. Why is that? I myself can’t understand, perhaps the admins’s greed for money, puts the game itself in the background, or even in the third plan, where the game dies.

I have learned on my own experience that is not worth the time and energy to even think that you can make money from playing games unless you wanna do this professionally and you're standing most of your day hard-core gaming at a PC or console. If that's the case you better choose an eSport kind of game like LOL, Warcraft, or even FIFA, but remember that there are millions of other players in the world and you need to be better than most of them to make a living from playing video games. Most games are out there just so you can have fun and immerse yourself into another world.

I'm not even going to talk about casino games. Never ever considered makin' a livin' gambling at a casino. They have the edge, you lose in the long term, PERIOD. Use it just for fun ;)

Yes there is a pretty huge online market for casinos and gaming in bitcoin. Most of them are not even on this forum and not even completely understand the concept of bitcoin but what they very well know is that it is anonymous and they can never get caught doing such things using bitcoin. These are especially more popular in countries where there are restrictions and penalties on gambling or casinos. Don't know about net earnings earned by people at the end but I think casinos themselves do make some great money.

Surprising to see Changelly, an exchange shilling for these projects. I don't play any of these games though and none of them are promoting in bitcointalk except that reality clash that did a bounty campaign in the forum because they also have an ICO.

Does anyone really earn crypto while playing? I checked the dapps list. Eos Knight is really on top of the list, I can't believe they are all just playing while we are all struggling here because of the bear market.  :D

I tried one of the triviata games that give altcoin rewards for each level and target achieved. Do you know? if calculated the value is very small, so it's like wasting time and waste of data packets, even though the game is quite entertaining. Based on that experience, earn profit or cryptocurrency from the game I feel is less profitable than trading, mining, or investing. I can't compare it to gambling and casinos because I've never tried it. But if I take a sample from some friends, it cannot be used as a reference because it really depends on luck alone, it cannot be used as a measurement.

At the moment i am highly bullish on gaming element of cryptos, especially the erc721 and erc1155 projects. But the quality of projects varies so much i am right now looking at only 5 to 7 of them. Some of the projects i've tried offer nothing but a clear ponzi scheme like one of the games on that list. And that list doesn't even cover best ones. But some of the games in the crypto space are imho in vanguard of the crypto gaming and i am really happy to say i've invested in them. Not all of them survive, i know that but i think that this could be the next big thing on eth after icos.

And yes, i am expecting earnings trading erc721 assets and have earned some already

I'm still waiting for a game that utilizes one of the existing cryptocurrencies . It would be great to have an rpg game that uses a cryptocurrency instead of gold in the world similar to diablo or wow. I played a few games that were supposed to have cryptocurrencies in them and one allowed you to buy ingame stuff for crypto and the other allowed people to trade items for crypto but almost nobody used that option. People prefered to trade for gold in game.

After reading the article, it is the first time I heard of the game EOS Knight and I noticed immediately the influence of IEOs. The cryptocurrency industry really do have different branches in the world but gaming industry is still one of favorite in terms of entertainment rather than profit. I don't usually want to mix those two because I often get distracted but I might check that game and the others. Though, I really don't expect to earn a lot in playing because gambling or not, games are different from work for me.

Even though gambling takes most of the gaming part of cryptocurrency, it is notable that strategy games like those still exist and the demand for those games is also in the good track based on the reviews I saw. There are other games you could venture with but don't expect to get a lot of money from it becuase it wasn't really created mainly for income generating but for fun and entertainment.

It seems this games lacks advertisement, I have not heard about these even though I have been following cryptocurrency for years.  The article is kinda lousy since it does not have any link of the featured game.  I have tried some blockchain based game but most of them requires a huge amount of time, and we need to invest before progressing on the game.  So I give up since I believe the profit I will take on that games is not worth the time and money I have to spend on it.

You're likely not going to make any meaningful profit with these sorts of crypto-integrated games, but if you're looking for games to play that specifically involve cryptocurrencies, this might be something to try out. I've never personally been a big fan of the types of browser games that were linked in the OP, but if you're only looking for money, there's much more productive ways to utilize your time.

Also consider there might also not be an easy or efficient way of converting the cryptocurrencies you earn from these types of games into something like Bitcoin or anything you can use IRL.

I have play EOS knight and yes you can get some earnings by playing the game.
Collecting materials, sell it or create some item from the materials. Sometime there are competitions and the price is EOS coin.
Anyway, some of them are really pay coins, just try them if you curious.

I didn’t try to make money on blockchain games because I just don’t have time to figure out how to do it, but I saw a lot of videos on YouTube how people show their income from such games.
I wont gain from any blockchain game though I played on it many times. It is not risky unless we put any amount on it. I do not think twice to leave the game when it involves money because aside from it is addictive, it might make you lose more than you have. I do not believe easily though there is good feedback on site, sometimes it is just a scheme of same person.

A lot of people are playing those games and DAPPs are rising in popularity with every single day. It's a good way to have fun and make some coins.

Take for example https://www.mycryptoheroes.net/
Currently N1 according to https://dappradar.com/ with over 3.3K users.

For example, I'm a huge fan of MegaCryptoPolis as I'm playing simulators and tycoons almost every day.

Games in this case might be said to be gambling and to be able to adapt the benefits of gambling in my opinion is not easy, many people actually experience huge losses in these games. they only provide fun and also a desire to play that can make participants uncontrollable to stop gambling

If relevance for you is something that is comparable to trading and mining, do not expect that these games are relevant. They are not alternatives to the things that you mentioned. Games are for fun. They are not designed to be significant sources of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. Profit is possible but not guaranteed. Most probably, the site has an edge over the players. And these are simply like faucets. You can gain a little from them, in addition to the fun of course.

I know a few points related to games like Spell of Genesis & Reality Clash. For Spell of Genesis itself, I still play it just for fun, even though you can sell cards that you can be used as Bitcrystals. If you get a rare card, you can sell it at a high price. Like Satoshi Nakamoto's card. For Reality Clash itself I have never tried it. Only ever joined the bounty first.

in this era the game era has hit millennials, therefore the blockchain company used that moment to create a crypto-based game to exchange money, an example of this is that I have played herosphere where I bet a certain team if it wins and it will be given a HERO token which has entered the market, in my opinion it is a very good progress between games with crypto, so that young children can make money not just just playing.

There are some cryptocurrency projects which aim at the gaming industry. The major aim is to integrate cryptocurrency into the gaming experience in order to had more fun and earn more as well as one plays and win some collectibles. A classical example is the CryptoSoul project which already has a working cryptocurrency related game.

I've experienced playing crypto games since i first started buying bitcoin which is flappy coin that you can get the app for free in play store, but i have only earned a small amount of bitcoin, that is why i tried playing in casino games so i could earn much higher profit. The reason why only play these games because i want to earn bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies without using any of my money.

I'm actually joining crypto games for fun because it has a lot of risks. Once you've been hooked, you might not be able to control yourself from betting. You could only earn through gambling by luck and by chance but there's no guarantee that you could earn enough profit through it. Crypto gambling isn't like trading and investing. As for me, the crypto casino has a higher risk than trading.

I think that those browser games are not the trend right now
great money are made from mobile game market, and on that market crypto is not widespread.
but I doubt it is possible to increase penetration of crypto to mobile market, cause from any mobile it easy to pay for game by fiat on balance of mobile phone

DragonTale(DT) is really the only game that I've known to have consistently paid out real money, even if you are FTP.

All these blockchain games either require some sort of investment at the start, or are complete games of chance. You've even got companies like VGO that is trying to simulate the skin trading experience of CSGO, which honestly doesn't work out that well.

At the end of the day, it's very speculative. You see Decentraland prices going up and down drastically, but really, how many people play their game and actually earn money? Ultimately, speculators are the ones making profits.

I have seen a project called yamzu, where you deposit a certain amount of money to enter the game, and when you win, you earn the predetermined money. Actually, it gives you a token not money, then you can easily exchange it any coin, or change it to an amazon gift card. I am not interested in things like that too but there are those who can make a profit.

some gaming platforms already exist that can provide crypto to players. not only the yamzu platform, there is also a playgame that gives crypto rewards to players. even their tokens are already on the market and can be bought to start the game on their platform.

Haven't tried yet but I will play those waves games that are coming to the platform as they're really cool but the problem would be that most of the games needs a starting investment in order to make money ...so its kinda a gamble. Honestly a browser game would be perfectly to play in order to make some extra Bitcoin ...like a faucet but implemented into a game with bigger wins to be more attractive.

unfortunately the game platform now doesn't have an interesting game, if you look at the reality clash the concept offered is indeed interesting,
but their tokens have no value now, and there are some good projects beforehand that is Yumerium,
and unfortunately Yumerium there is no news maybe investors have been abandoned

The only games where I see the point of making money is in cryptocurrency gambling. All other games are not attractive to me and I do not see much sense in them. Also, there is no certainty that you will not be deceived. In cryptocurrency casinos, there is testing by proven services that guarantee the absence of fraud.

But usually when we play games the results we get are also not so big. in 2016 I once played the crypto game when it was looking for bitcoin quite easily even for now it's a lot of scams on average because it can't pay the users so I have long stopped playing cryptocurrency based games

Furthermore, blockchain is actively integrating itself in the gaming industry which is really positive and could near the mass adoption.

I think that it will be much more interesting to play when you also earn. It turns out immediately two pleasures of relaxation and earning. I assume that many are already working on such projects where you can just play and earn income.

Well, you must lose some to win some, and I can assure you that all those games will never go without asking you to deposit some certain money. I know of casino, that is purely a gambling game which a site has been created for people to come and bet with cryptocurrency, so it is not like they are earning cryptocurrency free, they have to bet on casino and they the winner goes with the cryptocurrency used in betting, and some of the other games that are giving free crypto might be giving out very small amount of cryptocurrency just to encourage people or attract people to the use of the site to play game which must definitely stop after they must have gotten some users or gamers enough on their platform for their services to keep running.

I played some crypto games and was able to earn some crypto. I think this is a good way to earn cryptocurrency, but it is not a substitute for trading or mining.
Could you please elaborate more that where you are earning and how much are you earning. I believe many people here are looking for all new opportunities to earn more. I had already come across many crypto based games but none of them are worth for the time and efforts we do spend for them.

Earnings on crypto games is really possible.
However, this is not as simple as it seems due to the fact that the market is now at the stage of a deep recession with respect to its peak positions.

If you look at the most successful crypto games, and there are only a few, you will see that they all brought money only at that moment while the game market itself was young.
For example, in the game "EOS Knights" the market very quickly flooded with multi accounts.

Somewhere during the year it was possible to earn money normally and then Asian multi-accounts flooded inside the game market, which led to strong price dumping.
