Let me preface this by stating the following
When betting on Bustabit for example, I know :

• It's 100% provably fair and can't be manipulated
• Each round is independent of the adjacent ones, no previous results dictate the next
• There's no math to keep the 1.975x average in place, if it's 10 games under 1.5x in a row, this doesn't change the likely-hood of the next being over 2x

That being said, I think it's fun to humor myself and entertaining to play into superstitions.
i.e if it's 10 red in a row, I'm usually more likely to increase my bets as the gamblers fallacy plays out, although I'm completely aware of the math behind it.

I think superstitions are fun to have and entertaining to laugh about, it makes it more interesting.
Some gamblers treat them in a serious way, however I think that's the wrong approach to superstition when gambling overall.

What are common things you're superstitious about when gambling?

I often play gambling through crypto but whenever I play just for fun, whenever I lose on the same bet twice I double my bet on the same bet and cross my fingers as the dice is rolling or when playing BAB. Whenever I play on my mobile phone or even at desktop I leave them after betting and goes back after smoking. I just feel that I am unlucky whenever I watch the game when I bet. 😅

There are too many of them but fortunately, I don't believe in superstitious belief when we are in gambling.
If you have, then I will respect you on what you are. Because each of us has a different way and techniques or even strategy in gambling. We had different like and dislike. For me, this isn't superstitious but I don't like to gamble on Friday 13th, I'm scared on that number and day.

Believe in your self, if you feel that you are the lucky one on that day. Then, believe it and probably luck is on your side, not just a superstitious belief.

For me is counting your profits or winnings while you are still gambling, they said it's bad practice because the luck in your side may lessen. And that is difficult for me since I am not really the "Mr. All In" in gambling, I have the feeling of losing once I already have profits and want to take profits once there are already profits made.

I am only kinda superstitious when playing slots,I think that if I get a lot of losing spins I am in hope that the bonus round will appear because it is missing from quite some time of gameplay.That is just an illusion unfortunately which keeps getting me back to play slots and losing all my bankroll.

If beginner's luck is considered as superstitions then I consider it quite common to me, whenever I play for fun or just accidentally get there  I won at first then lose after, so mostly I just played at first after along time of not playing then played after awhile. We need to have controlled and not be tempted whenever we won at first, since it seems like a trick to us to play more till we lose.

same to this!!! But I don't know I lose every time I do this, the losing streak goes to 15 times. I always lose but after that I change my tactics. I go to gambling website that you can bet 0, so If it hits 5 losing streak I will start betting a double every time I lose, So far this works very well for me. I always enjoy the thrill when it hit's 5-10 losing streak and I am close to losing all my money. But yeah! I enjoy playing!

I don't think about superstitious when gambling because I do it for fun. I don't have time to listen to the third sounds that may come to my ears. That will depend on each person and how they think about superstitions in gambling. Maybe some of them have some feelings in the game, so they need to change something for the next match. But we might hear some voice in our head telling us to replace the number or do something.

There's no harm on being superstitious on what you are doing and more so on gambling, since this is a game of luck and you are inviting good vibes to come in, although math still plays a factor on what you are doing, it's just you are acknowledging something hjigher than all of us, it could be a prayer or whispering a mantra, but I do believe in superstitions.

What goes up most come down. It's my favorite saying, I'm not sure if it's considered a superstition though. But whenever you are lucky, a wrong idea of "I'm about to be lucky one more time" gets created in your mind and stays there until it you aren't lucky anymore. Happened in gambling a lot to me, fortunately I had the strength and power to be able to stop at the right time and end on overall profit.

Don't be overwhelmed by that one time you've been lucky. It doesn't happen all the time.

I have a cousin that before he gamble he make sure that he wears white shirt and the attended the Friday Mass ,and not going in bed with his wife kinda weird but that’s his belief and luckily!?gambling is the bread and butter of the family

Whenever I play dice game, I tend to alway change the provably fair seed (provably fair settings) everyday, believing that it'll give me luck. Also, creating new account each month for gambing is must for me thus I'll be able to have a clearer and object oriented mind set. It's kinda weird for some of people but for me it gives me more successful bets, thus I continue doing it over and over again.

I am not a believer in these superstitions but I remember this from my father. Before he going to gamble he will not take a bath, all sanitary hygiene he did not. Because he says that it just like pulling off the luck he had. But for me, that is not convincible. I don't believe it, because if you have a luck you have it, but if not then you have nothing to do. Gambling is not for you, just quit and leave.

I'm always carrying a blue handkerchief every time, I go on a horse betting and I get a good run of winning maybe because all my tipster is good in making predictions because they have studied the condition of the horses. It's ok to have a superstition belief it keeps your faith that you are going to win because everything starts on what you believe in.

Superstitions are fun to mess around when gambling since it brings a kind of hppe to you. I often bet twice on dice whenever I win and then half when I lose continously. After around 10 times, I stop and leave and wait till tomorrow comes to try again.
There's also the place where I play at times like I play in my bed whenever the sun is down and play at the living room whenever the sun is up. No particular reason for it, It just makes me feel more sure that I could win

Everyone has their own belief I guess, but in my case, I feel I have someone watching me when I am gambling.
It seems like I have more energy to win when someone is cheering me while I am playing, I just observe it but most of the time I just gambled alone.
Personally, I don't believe much on superstitions because it will only make me unrealistic, I wanted to be serious in gambling so I prefer to choose a skilled based type of gambling for serious matters while luck based games for fun only.

For me, it depends on the person if they believe about the superstitions in gambling. But the common superstitions that I believe is the beginner's luck that I usually try in any games. Also, I believe in that color of the t-shirt that you wear or lucky clothes. The other things are numbers/ lucky number, especially in the lottery, the position that you are sitting, especially in poker/card games. But at the end of the day, it's your beliefs just entertain your self and have fun. :)

I am just fooling myself around whenever I am thinking about such superstition. More like a self-boosting medication to cover up my fear betting on something I do not have an assurance of winning. People who just take this far are far more interesting than the superstition itself.
Is this even a superstition? But I do look up on the sky and if it rains in this certain time I might go for betting otherwise I won't  'cause it is just a bad luck.

Each gambler has his own stand regarding superstitions, some literally are serious with it and there's no way for us to stop them with what they have started to believe.

If my left hand is itchy, it means I'll have money and become lucky.  :P

But you know, I've proven this to be part of my laughable belief.

That’s what I am talking about it’s our positive energy that lure the luck near to us,sometimes those happy gambler are the one who succeeded in games and I also observed that in physical gaming

I don't know if this counts as a superstition but I don't gamble (not even lottery) if I happen to pass by a wake. It just feels off even if I know that even if there are supernatural, they really wouldn't bother me over that.

Maybe coz it's a reminder of mortality and I lose the appetite for "quick win".

I think the most common superstitions in gambling are color of shirts or accessories that you usually wear when you are going to play at a casino that gives you a good luck to win in gambling. Honestly, when i am following this superstition it is really effective for me because i mostly experienced having a win streak, especially in a game of poker at the casino.

I believe that wearing red when I played brings be luck also having pregnant women besides me while on the game brings me fortune as I have already tried this twice and I won but not all time since there is a luck also that include for the superstitions to take place

^ Definitely right, these are very common and I heard these from one my friend before when I was with him gamble at the live casino.
I think this common practice of gamblers will bring them a positive thing and may cause of being a lucky gambler. But for me, I do gamble normally without any belief while gambling. I believe that once you have luck, the winning sentiment will be yours.

This isnt a superstition but rather an analysis plus that intuition that you do made to yourself.You can presume things up and base and making decisions
that you might able to make it work but your brain knows that everything is random so you are hoping for something which isnt sure.Superstitious does involve
chants,charms,beliefs and the thing you had mentioned out do involved some calculations and presumptions which this isnt considered out to be one.

When betting in dice games, I'm crazily believing that after a streak of loss or streak of wins(probably 3 consecutives or more), the opposite will finally come.

This is why I always go all in and then I'll lose the bet, because it doesn't work like that :V.

In my region people used to play cards, it has got different set of games that can be played. This isn't the same as casino games, and here people will never move from one position if they got a winning streak. This is the only superstitious belief that I've seen. As I prefer gambling on online platforms there is nothing to do with superstitions.

Well you're right, in online gambling, I believed that superstitious belief is not effective. That's why online gambling based on luck was totally based on luck. In my country, there are a lot of gamblers who are until now doing these old beliefs, but I don't believe in them.
I understand regarding this matter, this gives them positive energy that you will win, once you have this instinc you are having a high chance of winning I think.

I think it's a superstition if you are counting the number of wins and losses. At first, i have to sit or watch someone first doing the bet and analyse the pattern of winning vs losing due to the specific spot/number. By then I started to play and gamble but still continue doing to look at the same pattern if it is following to my senses. lol :D

Although I didn't win that much but I can say that it's quite effective though, for me, but I don't know to anyone here.

Yup theres math behind not and not more on superstitions. Superstition you bring something with you when you gamble to bring you good luck. Its is something that you do before you make a bet because you think it will make you win like you blow the dice before rolling them, shaking them 3 or more times before rolling them. Not peeking at your card right away after the dealer hands it to you and you do something. Those are samples of superstitions.

I often feel luckier on days like Monday or Thursday and/or when I'm lucky in things other than crypto or gambling, even though as mentioned earlier in this thread, there's realistically no mathematical advantage with gambling during these times, and so I almost never gamble more than a certain amount I set for myself every week. I've also got a special computer mouse that I use to gamble occasionally that makes me feel a bit lucker at times.

I'm not a huge fan of superstitions. But I do some things (out of habit, I guess) when I gamble. Like in a carnival where I play the dice game betting on what color would appear after it rolled, I sometimes cross my finger and silently or loudly (depending on my mood and the crowd) repeat the color I bet on. "Red! Red! Red!" Something like that. It works but of course, not all the time. I think it's the law of attraction. You know, you attract what you want to happen. I don't know if that's a superstition but that's what I do. ;D still not a fan of it, though.

We all have our own superstition, it will not do harm if we have one from all our actions, it is part of our belief that powerful hands are behind  on all the things that we do, these superstitions sometimes has an impact on the mind of the believer, mine is a mantra I will always believe that I will win and sometimes wearing a specific color can help its part of our lives and these superstitions have been to us from generation.

I know a lot of people who have a strong belief in superstition, there are also some sport celebrities always maintain some attitude in order to avoid some unwanted thing, sometimes they maintain the same color, they are doing coin toss and sometimes they believe in black magic also, we know that they are taking it very seriously, but I don't believe it totally, for me, some shorts of betting is just like a fun, only matter of entertainment regarding this issue, It's normal calculation for me that if my luck favors me then I will win and if my luck doesn't support then also it could be an entertainment for me. So it doesn't matter at all for me.

thats what i also think  . i dont think what happen to op is not a superstition but it was some kind of a martingle strategy  .  supersition means that you are doing some kind of rituals and you believe that it will increase your winnings  . i do believe on some superstious belief but i dont apply them in gambling however like the op , i do also do his strategy which is martingal where i increase my bets gradually after i got some redstrakes  . sometimes i max it and win big if im lucky

In online gambling more likely we will change the bet amounts after increase or decrease but in a real casinos lot of things might happens,like if you see someone lost on a bet then we can imagine that next game is going to be a win so we will be on it.

The most common misconception here is that it's probably fair. Trust me no game is provably fair and Casinos operate because they are not probably fair their might not be a great edge but there definitely is a small edge in the favour of casino except of the fees. You never have a 50-50 probability of winning it's always 51-49 and that 2% edge goes to casino itself. Moreover in long term there is no way you will end up winning money in a mere luck casino like dice. Say for eg their might be 52 heads and 48 tails in 100 coin tosses but in 1 million coin tosses this deviation would go more and more closer to 50%.

How about those gambling sites especially have dice games that has their source codes public especially the provably fair seeds with verification?
I also saw some gambling sites especially those old ones which has their public data or records especially those players which you can see their total profits or total loss in the gambling platform. If there are some percentage for edge, why some gambling platform seems not telling it to their gamblers?

But to add something specially on line game, house-edge will really caught up on you regardless it's provably fair or not. So if you had a good streaks and runs then get out, don't chase and don't be greedy!!!

I usually cross my finger whenever I gamble but I don't know if you could call this superstitious but whenever I gamble I always put my other feet on the chair and rest my head on my knee.

Dont laugh at me because of I am trusting some superstitious beliefs when and before I gamble and also I also believe in luck. Before I go to my gambling session where I can bet and play a game their are some rules that I want to be done for example, I must see some lucky color before taking a bath if not then I will not go to the gambling session or casinos. Another one is when I saw a black cat then I would not play for that day because those superstitious are not accurate but sometimes it is real. We will not loss anything if we just follow right? So don't laugh at me because of that. We have some differences in playing on how to win and difference on the technique that we are using.

Some people can be like what you did. I already met one person, and we often talk about gambling and superstitions. He said that if he wants to go to the lottery place, he cross away from one traffic light into another traffic light with the same color 2 times, which means he will not get the win. But if he meets the green light, he will feel confident because that means he can win and you know what, he really wins the game. I don't know how that could happen to him, whether it's coincidence or that is true.

But what should we do, I think it is something that comes to our behaviour from generation to generation like relating a specific colour to our winning. Well I think all these winnings and failures are a part of our lives and sometimes it depend on luck and sometimes on hard-work but relating it with some superstitions does not make sense.

I cannot mention even a single superstition that I strictly believe in when gambling, neither in dice nor in sports betting, poker and other card games, cockfighting, lottery, etc. I can only remember when I was younger and I really had a lot of wild dreams and plans that I badly needed to become rich. Every time I buy a lottery ticket, I would keep it inside the pages of the bible. This is not peculiar to me for sure. I know a lot of people are also doing this. I also do this to my raffle coupons.

It is easy to say this if we are not on winning streaks but if does?surely we will neglect following this instead we will continue and make everything to add winnings until all is gone and we will go home as loser

I am convinced that any superstition negatively affects a person and his potential.  If a gambler has a certain amount of luck and flair in gambling, then any superstition will reduce their actions.  Based on this, only an indifferent person to external factors and any prejudices has a much greater chance of getting a good result.

Nor is there anything like bad/good luck and karma. There are only mathematics... if the algorithm is created in such a way to make you lose 55% of the time, then you have  55% chances to lose. That's all there's to it!

It may be true, but superstition, just like opium and religion, creates a dreamy state in them. And in this state, they have strong hope, belief, positive expectations, and so on. I have seen how gamblers are changed a lot by their superstitions and the very positive feeling of luck that springs forth. Superstitions are giving them a very strong conviction of winning.

This brings back memories of the great Efren “Bata” Reyes, also called as the “The Magician”. "He holds the record of being the first non-American winner of the US Open Nine Ball Championship and the first player in WPA history to win world championships in two different disciplines."^[1] He was so superstitious that he said to avoid taking a bath 3 days before his match. I don't know if he is betting for himself in his every match but a lot of people are betting for him.

I have tons of superstitions since it sometimes effective, sometimes not . If in betting Which ever I see first , I bet on it for example in number or in colors, I also do beginner's luck in new games or not so common games for me and the famous cross finger. It all depends if we believe in it. But gambling is pure luck, so if  we won , we must learn also when to stop. I usually set number of rounds or amount till I quit the game.

Gamblers are one of the most superstitious person you can find in this planet. Lots of them, from the clothing to picking numbers to bet.

If to play dice games, usually i click on what i like to click. But it all ended with lose.  ;D. Actually i don't have any superstition in gambling. Not like other people maybe play with special clothes or maybe clothes that they like, click high low how many times. I just rely on luck.

You can call it intuition,. Before the start of any game I know I will lose it. Still I will play it and lose a couple of games before I shift to the next. Sometimes I think this might be the fear of losing which translates to an intuition.

Luck + belief is good. Especially when you started to believe in some superstitions, your gambling life will become more exciting for sure.
I don't think also if you are believing in some supertitions, your risk will also decrease? Since for sure you will become more conservative if you are doing some superstitions act.

I only have one superstition, if my palm is itching then probably that's the best time to bet. It work sometimes but often not but it's fine, I know it just a belief and  doesn't have enough basis.

This would be a total disaster if you are a lucky man. What if you are having a winning streak of 5-7 days in poker, which is totally possible? It will not only be the other players in your table that will be distracted in their games because of your odor but the whole poker room. Unfortunately, that would be your edge.  :'(

It is not 100% related to gambling but it is still a superstition.
When I was younger and whenever I watched my favorite team I had to wear the team jersey and scarf. Even during the summer. I believed that If I didn't my team would lose  ::)

Superstitions are a frequent occurrence in sports. For those that follow Ice hockey they are probably aware of the fact that ice hockey players don't shave during the playoffs. Doing so will jinx the team and they might lose. 

Yeah right, maybe for myself I still believe in superstition, but that only applies to certain sacred situations and places. If they associate gambling with superstition, I don't think it makes sense, especially if we gamble digitally where we find players from all over the world who have different places, beliefs and superstitions, so when you experience losing streak, I think it's pure bad luck or cheating calculation behind it.

And if we have ever learned about calculating opportunities, surely we will think it might be logically possible, so there is no superstition here.

Not sure about bustabit, but this is not a superstition in case of dice. Every dice bet you place is actually independent of the previous bet. No matter if you win or lose, the next bet result does not care. It is actually true for most of the gambling games out there.
Yeah, there are people who believes that having a bad streak, there is a good chance of winning the next bet thus increasing bet size. All these are just gamblers fallacy.

I have seen people changing their client seed to some "lucky" numbers. They think it might help them win bets.

My suspicion is gambling varies with what type of gamble, if it's sport betting I have a believe that lower odds always get the win, if it's dice, balls my believe is that even number are Likely

My is simple, when am about to play, i do usually tell myself 'This game will make me a millionaire'  ;D ;D
Also, i try to shy away from second attempts. I do most times believe that i won't win through it.
I know a friend of mine who believes that weekends (mostly Fridays) is his lucky day, so he plays only then and also a friend who totally avoid gambling on Sundays.

There are many superstations in gambling and most of them are commonly practice by gamblers. But there is one worse superstation I want to share and that is not to take a bath if you are in a winning streak to avoid your luck being washed out.

I don't mind doing that as long as its effective, not talking a bath will not destroy your health but if you can continue winning, you can just skip taking a bath and just do it later when the streak is over. Although I am not doing this but I can always try if I see somebody said that this kind of superstitious practice work for them.

now, the second question to ask after this is:
for how long would you keep doing it?

24h without a bath may be doable but if your winning streak goes for 7 days it'll be quite hard to deal with you, I guess.

No need to emphasized and explain playing gambling, playing gambling need selfcontrol and play gambling for just having fun I spent money betting into the gambling what I have I am not gamble money over my my budget came from salary to avoid addiction.

I do hakuna matata, when I decide to play I just do play with the amount I allot before I start or extra amount just to chill or If Im feeling lucky. The rest that will happen is hakuna matata. If I won those free time then that's my day, If my alloted money all lost then that's it hakuna matata.

I have the same gamblers fallacy as the op, and that i have bad days and good days, and sometimes i feel like i need to take a brake to win again. I know that all of these are not based on anything but on my own superstition, and still i see myself as somewhat rational person. Ironically trusting my own rationality and gambling at the same time kinda proves that i am not rational.

My superstition involves me believing, placing my bet exactly 1 day (after having a football related dream) before the game week begins give me a fair chance of predicting the current outcome of the game. In the current premier league prediction pools, the only week the above statement was achieved I got most of the 10 games prediction closely right and won the week.

I don't know normally gamble much, so most of my gambling activities revolve around sport betting mostly football and premier league to be specific although, sometimes I purposely leave my comfort zone to bet on other league like champions league or La Liga.

This is very important, this showed how discipline you are as a gambler and hope that everyone will do the same.

But if we have some superstition that we might believe, it is somehow necessary to use it as a safety especially when betting. Though it is not proven true, but gamblers are noticing it through the patterns that they can observe while playing.

Some people do that because they believe in one thing that can help them to win. I see it in my friend too, but I don't think that is because he saw something in that day. Maybe I will believe that his luck will come on that day but not always happen to the same day every week. But people who don't believe in superstitions will laugh at them and say hm, I cannot believe what you say. Well, many things happen in people's life related to superstitions.

Reality is even we know that superstitions don't have any basis yet we still choose to believe those, besides we don't have anything to lose.

One of my basic superstition is when I play a dice game. If the first two rolls are a loss I won't be bothered to stop playing, I don't know if I'm the only one doing this but I feel that it will be a straight loss and I will be defeated in the end. It's also my way of reducing my addiction to gambling, Somehow it works on my way of reducing my gambling actions.

I used to multiply the bet value if I loss the very first roll. The second roll decides whether I'm lucky or I need to quit it for a while. If I'm lucky I'll get the loss recovered or else the loss will be high. Even by this I won't be quitting most of the time. But such scenario serves as a bad start for playing.

Not just with gambling, I'm almost following suppositions everywhere because I am believing that could be true because this is how Gods may talk to us. In my culture that we are having auspicious times and good and bad symptoms which could be reading from our surrounding events like people's sneezing or animals sounds and movements (for example, cat crossing).

Other than those, I believe into color of my shirt and on which direction I am facing while gambling and for trading. Also I do follow auspicious days to gamble as well as for trading.

I am not making big money with gambling even I'm following many of those superstitions but I'm sure I'm not losing big these days in gambling. At the same time, I making good money from my trading. But, please note I'm not too active on those things as I'm having a regular job.

It isnt really bad to follow up on what you do believe because the most important thing is you do know on how to control up everything which you dont
fully rely on what you do believe which would possibly result into disaster.If you do believe to those beliefs then i respect that because we have our own
views and insights on different things.Luck cant be increased nor be influenced by things and this is what i believe the most.

almost everyone uses this method if they lose in a row while playing dice so that they can double the amount of the bet. of course luck will not always be on our side when we can double the stakes, sometimes we will suffer huge losses. therefore I think that every gambling we will do, of course, we need to control emotional control first.

Superstitions in gambling in general I think will be the same or not much different from that point, and I feel superstition in gambling is just like a hope even though we will end up smiling because our superstitions or hopes are wrong or not according to expectations. Indeed this will be fun for myself because it can make our mood better for betting.

Having superstitions is common but I really don't think that it will work in gambling. Not to used that one cause it seems to be not helping us cause if we as those successful gamblers it surely not because of their beliefs to someone or anything but they believe themselves and luck. I think, this is the most important thing to do, self-reliance.

Maybe it’s only the form of attracting some good thing,and you are right it’s not about bringing us winnings but instead giving us hope that we can win because gambling is very risky and if you don’t know how to deal with this then you will surely lose

3 days mate, but it was a long game, baccarat table, I will switch from one table to another, and when I get tired, go to my hotel room, eat sleep and then I will go to the casino again.

There's nothing wrong believing in superstition and I sometimes follow what I believe can make me lucky if I gamble. What I usually do before playing is to check my daily reading in horoscope, I consider the lucky colors, numbers as my lucky charm. If it state that its not good to go outside or have an activity I follow it because sometimes its really happening. But again, its just a funny routine before doing something so I dont know if it has basis to believe in or a superstition.

Perfume has something to do with your emotion whenever you are gambling, it's my superstitions that I should put a strong scent whenever I gamble, sometimes it's right sometimes it's not, but when the average of winning to losing is much higher you can attributed it to what you are doing that brings you luck and so in my case it's putting perfume, and besides I feel good with my perfume even if I lost a roll.

Yes, nothing will be wrong when we are believing in to anything because we are the only people going to face the consequences for believing them. I mean to say we are believing in to superstition so that we need to face the consequences of following those superstition. I believe most of the gamblers are also following superstition because gambling is just a luck based one so that we will ensure that we will be having the maximum luck on our side so we do call our belief in the name of superstition. Yes, superstition helps a gambler to be feeling like more confident about their next move while gambling.

I'm not sure that being confident by gambling will be a good thing or bad thing but it will help to maximize our luck factor because when you are confident your luck will come in your way at most of the times. This could be a coincidence like people so say "luck favors the brave".

I often gamble but I never ever follow any pattern of any supertitions I known.  Since I know gambling is a game of chance, there is nothing that can affect it or whatsoever.  For me, why would I bother to follow certain superstitius rule, it only beats the fun out of it.  Beside, it only make you look uncool and most of the part crazy.

Now that totally makes sense. I do not get from where do people get the idea of making money from gambling. Like you said, it is game of chances. It totally depends on luck and there are chance that house manipulates results. In both cases, the odds are against the player. I think it is best to not play this game at all but still if someone likes, then he should play in limits for his own safety.

Being provably fair doesn't mean it can be manipulated and each round is independent from the previous one. It just mean the house can't cheat you by changing the outcome according to your bet. Provably fair just mean the house provide the result before your bet and can't change it. Moreover computer are bad for randomness.
BTW be careful of the gambling fallacy, it's a superstition itself.

I have some superstition beliefs as well although am atheist and also know how gambling isn't really affected by past rolls lmao. It's all the same for me along with that I try to sit at a certain angle, play at a certain time of the day, eat something particular before gambling. It's all humor and fun but sometimes also we tend to believe in it for real xD

Superstitious beliefs doesn't affect whether you are an atheist or theist. Thus, you only don't believe in God/goddesses so it is out of the question. It is normal to have some superstitious beliefs if that's how your parents raised you. And I think every gamblers have their own superstition when playing and also I think it is not just applicable in gambling but also in real life e.g. status, love life, etc.

That must be true. People are following superstition only because of they are following it even in their day-to-day life. From the reason they are observing in real life like what are the they have actually found after following superstition, they would have come for the conclusion to follow same kind of superstition in gambling too. This is how a habit is come into practice and I believe it will be applicable even for why people are following superstition.

Actually superstition beliefs harm us lol. Like, as we perform those actions, we kind of acquire a false sense of security that we will win. And it makes us vulnerable and we are destined to lose more because we don't play with caution rather play without risk.

Probably you gamble just for fun and are not using it as a mainstream source of money so these things do not bother you. But for those who are investing really good money in gambling, they are really conscious about superstitious signs when they are gambling. Gambling is a fun game and I believe everyone shall treat it like that instead of putting all energies into it. Just gamble with small money.

I guess maybe I was doing it sometimes lol. but it is just for fun, Sometimes on dice, I was placing my lucky number or birthday number or any related number to me on prediction number and roll the dice sometimes I won sometimes not. It really does not change the odds but it is fun winning with your favorite numbers.

Then I guess this is not superstition at all. You are simply choosing a number or numbers that is or are significant to you. There is nothing wrong with that. Gambling is for fun and you are only adding another layer of fun to it. And you being fully aware that these numbers do not have anything to do with the odds and the results is a proof that you are not superstitious at all in doing this.

Just to add, it hugely helps me in gambling whenever I wear my lucky shirt. I mean, I try my best not to gamble whenever I am not wearing it. Last thing, before I gamble I make it sure that before I leave the house, I will toss a coin and the result will become my fate in the next few hours.

I mean, people see superstitions as useless but if it helps the individual calm or support them in making decisions then I would not judge them. At the end of the day, gambling depends on one's luck and people are free to think on what they think will help them win.

I have heard many thing about the lucky shirts that use as superstitious material but tossing a coin!?how was that?never heard of seen such thing though in my local gambling there are some kind of game in which people are tossing 3 coins and if 3 sides comes out then that’s the winner

It's all the same. Lucky shirt, tossing a coin, amulets, routines. Superstition has always been a part of gambling since the outcomes of most these games don't depend on anything but luck. Especially with old school gamblers. Though i don't there's as much superstition in online gambling nowadays. Personally, i'm a skeptic when it comes to these lucky routines and charms.

I think that will be only a few gamblers who believe in that thing. For those who are investing in gambling, they will not depend on that thing, but they will search for more information so they can know which gambling websites or casino that can give them the profit. I personally dont believe in superstitions because i play for fun and leave it on luck but i have seen my fellow gamblers around me believe in some and i dont judge them at all. One of friend dont play on Friday 13th, other dont play on the day if he had an argument earlier. I would always try to keep my lucky coin on my hand or infront of me when I am gambling.
And by the way I consider a coin lucky if I have pick it up at street in short it is a coin that someone loss .

The gambler himself gets affected indirectly. For some reason this too can cause big loss. Believing on the shirts and toss user goes for big volume betting. Here when the superstition fails, the loss is big. From my learning superstitious belief can be a part of the gambling while data collection regarding the games as well tricks are the one that gets win.

gambling with superstitous is indeed fun but not fun to laugh about for a person that is a believer on it  . it gives extra excitement and contentment on the game especially if you hit your targeted payouts or goals but to those person that didnt believe  it then they are only making fun of it or on those people that use superstious belief when gambling  .  i think the common thing that i do related to superstitious is that i pray to god that i win . sometimes it work but sometimes it didnt .

Everyone has such happy things that once brought good luck. But I noticed that it’s not necessary at all, that these things will bring us luck a second time. This is indeed superstition that cannot be explained. But we definitely need to believe in something.

But the fact is it is not going to change anything from the outcome so everyone have their own belief some try praying God and some has their own belief but anyway it won't work.

Gambling, something that purely need luck. But it is very funny if know each people believe in superstitions. But as long their superstition not disturb or harms other people, nothing wrong with it. But always remember if no luck, usually it is really hard to win in gambling games. Maybe skill will help too, but superstition can't be something that to be main factor of winning in gambling.

This may be people perception or their belief that doing certain thing in a certain way helps them. Have seen quite a few people doing it as they think this help them to win or luck goes by their side of they do it in A similar fashion .

When I am going to a gambling session or playing games outside, I am not entering in the main entrance because some says that is unlucky because it is just like playing in a honest point in which you don't have any card inside your sleeves, so I prefer to enter in the exit gate to avoid this kind of superstitious belief, anyway gambling is based on strategies and luck also and you are the one who are making your own luck.

There are some skills involved games where we can bet but this also doesn't ensure our win even if we are highly knowledgeable about that game so one should play for fun and keep the superstitious thing also as a fun then there will be double benefits while gambling. :D

what I have realized that experienced players believe in superstitions when compared to newbies. I have shared the table with some people doing various stuff in order to get luck on their side. Doubling the bet after 3 consecutive losses, tapping ring on the table for good luck, not playing on 13th and also I consider Beginner's luck as one superstition that I am sure most of us have experienced ourselves.

Yes, those things that you've mentioned are common superstitions for gamblers. The beginners luck and the 13th.
I also believe in beginners luck because it happened many times to the people that I know but not with crypto gambling. But with 13th, I don't believe on it although this is a very popular belief that can endanger someone and eventually put himself into a very unlucky situation.

Dude, superstition work for people who consider them to be real? I don't think so. People just try to find reasons to justify why their routine or belief didn't work, instead of simply accepting that it's all in their mind. The only positive aspect of it is that it gives a positive outlook to the persion believing. Though sometimes it can go the other way. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. As long as they keep their superstition to themselves then that's okay.

Your things are good to read but I am not sure all these are common among gamblers as some superstitions are unique and I guess you must be enjoying your gambling along with "these tricks" being followed. I do call superstitions as "personal trick" to trigger our luck factor. Fortunately or unfortunately I have lots superstitions but my luck also not getting triggered everyday, it means I guess I need to follow some set of superstitions for particular day.

As I have lots of superstitions and beliefs, it is a confusion for me which to follow for a day or which one should not be followed for a particular day. Again, instead of enjoying my gambling, now a days I am just going research for my superstitions. This may be a bad consequences of being a believer of superstitions.

But with so many superstitions as said. there are also many people who believe in it and often do it when playing gambling. There are silly superstitions I have ever done to get a good card or before starting a card game. It's interesting to see what other people do when it comes to gambling. I've heard of bizarre superstitions like not taking a bath or changing your brief and things like that. But personally, my personal non-sense superstition is that I always have the number 9 on all of my trades. Meaning my buy or sell orders will always be $8990.99 or $201.99 (can you guess what I'm buying at those prices? ;D).

I'm living in a country where superstitions is very popular, everything is connected to superstition, and my own superstition is to always wear my favorite lucky color which is green, and wearing my favorite necklace, I'm not getting the best results, but at least I'm feeling good, this is gambling we cannot expect to win all the time.

I know about superstitions but I'd never think that it helps us when we are in gambling. It actually there is no wrong of having such beliefs but I don't feel that we can have such assurance of bringing us luck. It somehow it could be helpful in other ways but not in gambling.

I think that this can be a very big problem, because it will be very difficult for a gambler to reduce the influence of superstition on his psyche.  After all, the fact is that a person who is afraid to lose something will always look for some signs that indicate a particular result.

It’s more about belief that what you do at a time when you win good amount you start consider it as superstition that you did this or wore this and your luck favours while doing this or this becomes superstitious and a habit sort of thing .

It sounds strange indeed when the digital world has been associated with some superstitions. From what I know, superstition only applies to one place and does not apply to various places, I believe in superstition because in my country there really is, but different regions, then different superstitions and the digital world cannot be influenced by superstition because that's connected with everyone in the world.

Sometimes I think if we related our life with superstitions, we could not feel confident to do something we want. There is something that we feel afraid that we cannot do that. You are right to some extent. However, there are instances when having a certain superstitious believe can make someone overly confident.
Take for instant those who depends solely on voodoo for wining in gambling, when they have whatsoever charms they think that can make them win a game. They depend on it without bothering to consider calculating their games.

Trick? Something new, I come across for the first time but, definitely a good comparison. People are having lost of strategies for their gambling and superstitions must be one of them. You may call them as trick or strategy or whatever still what is your achievement out of them is the big question here.

Too much of anything, good for nothing. Limit yourself. Can you enjoy your cake when it will be having too much of sugar? nor cream? Same thing is happening for your gambling too. I have seen some gamblers are too busy in deriving their own martingale strategy with faucet earning. After months of struggle, they complain they enjoy nothing with gambling and found no perfect strategy too.

Luck factor is the final winner here. It may in your side when you bother nothing or when you calculate all your superstitions. It must be a universal truth : Luck is God's touch. Every time I am at a new place,,, I always start with a test deposit and then play, and then withdraw. If it works like everyone else says it does, then I decide to play more.

Why do you need superstition when your time is good. People are using terms just for fun, good time= superstition=luck are the terms just used causally and when ever anyone gambles they just do so without thinking all these things and then come up with terms to fool themselves and if they win big they will try to follow everything they did when they won big and if they loose they will put the blame on luck, superstition or luck  :P. It is all bullshit and when you play game it all depends upon how you wage the bet and nothing else.

Because people here are becoming superstitious after trying out gambling with as much as logic and math. I'm sure no one will become superstitious just for the reason of entering gambling. They do not have any help from any strategy and then they start following superstitions. When gambling is all about probability and combination, we cannot be sure about any logic to be working all the time. This is the reason people are looking to maximize their luck factor through superstitions.

Nothing can control luck. No one can claim to have the skills of ruling one’s own luck. If this was possible, the world would have at least one example so far. Gambling is all about fate. There are no skills required to win a gambling game. If it was the case, then obviously gamblers would have attained them. Superstitions also do not work the same way every time as its believers expect them to be.

If you ask me, luck is the only thing that matters. Gambling revolves around this one factor only. Though you will come across people having some tricks under their sleeves, web is full of such content but nothing works out. We can never ever learn to control our fate. I am not in favor of playing gambling. It involves the risk of losing money and the wins can make players addictive.

Logical thinking. in my opinion is quite important for us if you want to gamble. and especially in my country gambling is often associated with superstition. bulshit with that. we must be able to see based on calculations which in my opinion are very clear to be able to gamble.strategy is also very important besides mathematical calculations

You must be a serious gambler to analyze gambling because almost all the gamblers I know they just depend on luck and on their own superstitions including me. I do believe that if you play happy you will earn more money and I don’t use the money that not comes from my hard work because I think it will just fade away since its not mine. According to my experience during gambling i was never attempts to linked my gambling results to superstitions things and i consider for simple things during gambling that if i'm lost then it's not more than bad luck but if i had won i think i'm just lucky at that time but indeed some of gamblers always believe in superstitions even they have lucky days or bad days to gamble and usually they will avoid gamble in the days which they considers it's called bad days

IMO, gambling is not about math. Indeed probability does exist but there is no exact formula that you can use as the result based on your luck especially if you are playing luck based gambling games.
Superstitions on other side, many people believe in this thing but I'm not one of those people. Lets say someone believe that by wearing specific color of shirt will give him more luck, for me it is just like a coincidence instead of superstition. 

Initially we all think like that same way. That it's all dependent on luck (which it actually is). But as we progress on it, we try to find patters and try to link it to our behavior. Human minds are created itself in a way that it tries to find patterns in everything, a cause for any happening, which led to science. And that pattern soon develops into superstition beliefs because gambling is really a random variable.

Winning in gambling is pure luck. Maybe we could (accidentally) that our superstition runs within today but never to think that it will run through all the days coming. I believe everyone has their own superstitions belief, not only a reason because we are in gambling but because of our everyday's life.

We are in the same ship on this one but I've seen alot of people that decides not to share their picks with someone. They believe if they do that, the game would lose.

Maybe it is a team that was formed accidentally when betting, but however someone does have their own way and about superstition maybe not everyone is aware of it, because when we gamble there is at least one feeling that will make the heart beat more and they think it is a adrenaline rush. But believe it or not, I feel if it's a part of superstition itself which then increases adrenaline when betting because of anxiety and an expectation has become one when betting.

I'm not superstitious at all and never have been. There's so many superstitious things my parents and grandparents used to do like they would say that a black cat crossing the road is bad luck or that you shouldn't talk about bad things that could happen to you or someone else because these things tend to come true.

Probably the only thing that I do could be called superstitious in gambling is blowing on dice. I picked it up as a child and used to do it whenever I played board games and it stuck with me. Now I still do it but it's more of a habit than a superstition.

It depends on whether you're asking about my superstitions in general or in gambling. My most common general superstition is that karma comes back. If you do something bad in life it's going to hit you back one day. In gambling I usually feel that some places or people might be jinxed so I don't play in places where I heard or saw my friends lose money and I don't follow the bets and advices of people who lost a lot. I try to play on machines and at tables when I know someone had won. I don't pray before playing and I don't have a routine like some gamblers.

For me, you still have a superstitious thing in your life, especially in gambling that you said you are blowing on the dice. Back then you are a child what are you thinking before you blow on the dice? Because if you are wishing/ or telling the dice that it will roll according to your plan for me, its a belief. There's no wrong in believing in something that most ppl said is an irrational belief, but you know that something is missing if you don't do that, right? Because before it becomes your habit, you believe that move/ trick will be effective.  :)

I have always hated superstitions and in most cases I see those believing in it as dumb people. How can anyone believe you have to play on a table of a previous winner in order to also become a winner, it sounds really absurd to me sincerely.

I believe in doing the Right things and getting the reward. There is no such thing as superstition because it's not a reality and in most cases those who believe in superstition always end up being disappointed. I had one friend that believes in wearing a particular color to gamble because it attracts luck, it always worked coincidentally but he was disappointed the day he decided to play with big amount of money.

First of gambling games it is superstitious idea only. Investors believe that and investing on one game to make the money and that is way they can make the money when it goes positive on their side.
If that goes negative they will feel that is nightmare and say that as bad luck.

That's just the truth man. Most of them their beliefs are just theories with proofs, pure coincidence. You can only say you're lucky in some games like dice and roulette, but you can't apply luck and superstitions to sports betting and poker.

Think that it will be extremely difficult to see anyone that does not have or believe in superstition in any region that they might have come from. We all believe it in one way or the other whether it works or not just as we believe in magic when we see it.
 
I always believed in some certain colors to be worn to a casino houses and sincerely it has really played out fine, red is a great color for me and it brings great luck, just like we know that mosquito likes some colors. I cannot play games without having this color on otherwise I would be preparing for loses and there are other players that have other superstitious beliefs that also work for them.

In my country, believing in superstition is very importance to majority of us which we dint take any of it for granted. While I was still at tender age and Growing up too, I had some superstitious believes that I still wonder how I ever took that but growing up as an adult now, I have come to understand that not all superstitions are meant to be taking seriously.

I honestly do get so pissed up whenever I see people who hold onto such believes especially in a casino center. I saw someone like that some few days back in a casino center. I am not someone that gets so carried away with all these superstitions of a thing because I don’t believe in superstition, I never have and never will and the reason is simple, just like the name, it disappoints and it is not really. Believe any kind of superstition at your own peril.

Majorly, Kids are the one that are often made to believe in superstitions because of their young mind and they can't resist due to threats. Proof shows that the human mind can be made to obey rules or instruction in a new environment.

I think with coming new generation this age group are less superstitious and live the way they like it and not much into all this things . Only few who are born and bought up in those beliefs might just continue doing this .

Anyone who believes in their amulet always remembers the victories that he got with him. But if you lose, then you quickly forget your defeat and never associate it with an amulet.

yeah the young generation is very realistic and think scientifically, with the development of science in this new era everything that has been going on have some scientific reasons and that is why now a day youth always search for the reason behind everything and they do not think like old superstitious people and i think that's the great success of new era.

I don't think any superstitions when gambling but I am aware with how much balance I have that will make me stop gambling in order to save some money to gamble again tomorrow to have fun if you still don't have extra money to deposit. When gambling I only want to have fun and win.

Yeah, exactly, amulets? Lol, we're already in 2020 so I don't know why people still believes in those kind of things. Maybe it's just coincidence that he/she succeed because he bought bracelets and necklaces. Everything is still based on luck and there's nothing you can do about it, just saying.

They are setting their mindset to keep on winning and when they lose, they get too frustrated. Its ok to believe on superstitions as long as you combine it with your hard work the positive outcome is possible. I do have my winning ritual every time i go to casinos, I put my favorite shirt on with a neon color and when I arrived at the casinos, I change that shirt to be more formal. Never depend or believe on winning always, its not true and very impossible.

There are people who don't believe in superstitious, their approach is more on realistic approach and that's the style I follow in gambling.
Actually, we can think of superstitious things sometimes but I know it won't work and won't help in the long run, so rather its better to be realistic all the time.

These things are going to exist as long as the human race itself exists, myths superstitions and all such sorts have no scientific or logical grounds but still, a good percentage of world population is involved into all this and astonishingly, it works for them. I firmly believe that the universe return us according to our beliefs. We get what we seek for. If we think positive, positive happens. If we fear loss, we face it.

But this isn't a superstition.

It's a kind of superstition that's still existing today. It's a superstition so it's not surprising if there are people that are still believing with this. A lot of superstitious belief are hard to forget.

Reading what you wrote, I think what you meant is been skeptical of your pocket and how much you own. That's a good strategy on how to prevent been broke.
But from what OP meant, You would be surprised how people believe in superstition, by attaching gambling to stuffs and it actually work out for them. Afterall, what you believe in affects you.

I don’t think that this is true.If it were we would see so many gambling made millionaires but the fact is that we don’t and I don’t know yet a millionaire made by gambling and here I exclude people who win multi million dollars jackpots.Here I am talking about people that are made millionaires from their gambling superstitions that they say they work for them.So far I know none.

day after day, people who believe in superstition are diminishing..  to be honest, I used to believe that my grandmother's ring could make my business smooth because my grandmother indoctrinated to wear her gift ring in any endeavor. but after living it, it doesn't have any effect...  superstitious goods only make our comfort and confidence increase, not make the goddess of fortune side with us.

lol unless those amulet's are made of Gold or Diamonds or other precious stones then it is very helpful,because when they already lose all the money then they can PAWN that amulets to make money and continue betting  ;D ;D ;D

anyway we are already in Computer age and none of those superstitions are productive,i have friends who always believe on those and now they are truly a loser

People do all sort of ridiculous stuff. Superstitions are also believes having no sound ground. Nothing really supports such sort of ideas. Believing that some sort of clothes can bring luck and make all the dreams come true is just insane. If it was this simple to achieve goals of life, then the riches people of Earth would have been owners of pant companies. Superstitions and beliefs work.

Superstitious things have been there for centuries and they do work that is why we are discussing them here. I personally believe that whatever you believe happens to you. If you think negative by looking at black cat something evil will happen to you but if you stay normal nothing bad will happen to you. As far as amulets are considered, they are not superstitious things they are basically part of some magic.

If we turn back into old times, we can witness how people giving their trust to a certain thing that gives them luck especially in gambling. But we are in a new era, advance technology and people aren't using this one anymore cause they purely believe with their strategy.
Gambling innovations and online casinos stopped people to use these superstitions cause it won't give help anyway.
