Is it necessary for a university to be registered from a government to issue a degree/diploma certificate? Or are there any governments who offer free registration of universities online?

I want to open a blockchain university which may offer master and graduation level courses for free

Everything should be registered. And not only registered, it should also be accredited by whatever agency that supervises your country's education system. If it is not, it will be useless for your future students to enroll there. By the time they need certification or authentication or whatever kind of proof or document to show that they really have studied and finished in this university online or offline, they will get nothing. In fact, they would be told that the school they are enrolled on is non-existent. But this will also depend on your country's laws.

Exactly, accreditation is the keyword here. I doubt that any government's department of education will accredit something they don't even understand themselves. So until blockchain becomes "more" than what it is today, starting a school and offering courses with diplomas is just like providing people with online "completion" certificates, which unfortunately don't have much bearing in the actual corporate world.

Win or lose, i think it is worth to do. I mean to open an institution like that, of course, it must be with government permission. If not, you will get problem in future and usually it can be considered againts the law. But worth to do i mean, if your purpose is a good thing, and if you get permission you can help a lot of people out there.

I agree that when you want to apply for something, registration is always necessary. The education system that you'll provide should be accredited and allowed by the country. The certificate that you will provide after they graduated is essential for them to have a proof/document when they will find their job. It is important for them so that when they are sought for a proof that they really finished college, they have something to present.

I guess it should be its also better for a blockchain degree to be recognised by government it will also add up confidence for students getting a particular degree. Like any college degree to be treated with respect its one of the best things to do.

I love your motive on giving or offering a master and courses for free but talking in if you would need a license or registration.? Ofcourse you would need it.

No one can easily make its own school/university if its not being approved by the government knowing that anything should have a permit and licensed.
So anything that had been issued or certificates would be legitimate as well.

It would be a total waste of time if the degree, certificate or Diploma is not recognized by the Government of your Country. The Best thing to do is first register and get approved by the education council or body.

I have seen cases where graduates from non registered universities in my country have had their academic papers  declared invalid.

accreditation is very important for this, if not then your efforts will only become ordinary non-regulated training institutions. Online open universities are already widely circulated, you can also start the same thing with the informal phase first and take care of regulations gradually, it can be started by holding regular blockchain seminars to refer to the formation of educational organizations that focus on legal pre-registration according to the conditions and provisions.

It would really be invalid since its not being registered and its just normal for it not to be considered.Any service or business does really need accreditation and license so that any documentation would be considered valid.

I dont know why he do ask about license thing since its just normal and really need for you to comply or get license before you can operate a university.

I think you can open online schools without problems. Guess this's under the condition it's free?
If you think opening university from government is not necessary why do you need Master and graduation level courses?Do you intend to issue degree or something?
I guess you should probably make the whole thing as simple and transparent as possible to avoid letting the governments  clash with you in the future.
I wonder how you plan to fund this.

It is true that there must be permission from the local party or the government, the University is the highest department if there is no permit it will not be useful, people will not be interested if without permission,
If you want to open a blockchain investment with free graduation, then you have prepared everything to be valid.

It will add credibility and reputation if you get one, I don't know where you are located but if there is an opportunity to get one do get one,
a University whether online or offline will have a lot of enrolled students if they have recognition from government and non government organization.

It is necessary, university institutions work together with the government to print original certificates, among the many fake degree certifications. I have never been involved in this matter, but usually if you want to enroll in a study program for a university you must get an institutional permit and requirements from the government, especially regarding accreditation. In my opinion blockchain is more about information technology where the study of the technique already exists.

For you are planning to offer education, the standards for it to be accomplished and take place seamlessly would be high and would be a lot to work on, and will probably test your dedication and will to finish it. There will be lots of accreditation to be done depending on the count of the institutions related to education in your country and will vary among the regulations and laws implemented that needs to be reached within your country. Aside from the accreditations, you need to register everything so there would be no legal issues.

That will be tough work, you mean a standalone university? You need tons of money for that, you will undergo an accreditation process, you need to pass the Dept. of Education standards, you need to pass your curriculum for verification, you need to pass everything - so much hassle if you will start from a scratch.

Just a suggestion, try to start at those programs who offered short-term courses. Consult your education department on how to include blockchain courses as one of the offered subjects.

Or if your purpose is to spread awareness and knowledge about blockchain, you can also consider setting up a weekly seminar on your preferred places and just consider making it a big event once you see how successful it is.

Of course it's necessary mate. It's like a normal business establishment. It needs to be registered and complied to the government policies like taxes and whatsoever. Building a private school for blockchain technology is quite hard sell to government because very few people or corporations are allowed to own one. It's also depends on your country's policies.

Im pretty sure its a yes. Cause it's a type of education after all. The next generations would fall in line and learn from what you're universities teachings and policies are, and they would bring that put nce in the workforce. The government is pretty much responsible for handling that, its part of the things they govern around their scope.
The idea is great and all, but since the blockchain technology is still in infancy or maybe even ternager years, maybe creating a university for it may seem to be too early. Some may not even know what blockchain is.

You must register and provide information to your government that you want to open a university program about blockchain because this is for data collection and licensing that can be used to do blockchain learning in your country, because some countries do not give permission about the use of the blockchain.

If you want to issue a diploma or any certificate you must comply on all documents needed by the government this is very important if you want your business or institution to become legit and recognized you will face a serious case if something unnecessary happens and you have no papers to show In our country even street vendor must register into local government otherwise you will be declared as illegal.

That's good thinking for flourishing this subject around the mass people also for further development of the blockchain system, but you need to get permission from your government because everything is registered and listed by the government and education ministry, so if your country allows you then it might be great initiative for the shake of the development of blockchain system, I think this is a newly invented subject and people are very interested in doing and working with this platform, but it's also true that you have to face a lot of difficulties to start such type of sensitive issue which is not still unapproved by the government.

I think it is not eligible to establish a university with only one profession. because at any university there are many disciplines.
instead of opening a university, why not try opening a technology teaching center? Legal registration of your teaching qualification is eligible to open.

It must always be registered.

In case you wan't to start building a blockchain university, unless it is registered to the law, the certificate might just become an online certificate or only usable for blockchain related things.

Maybe you can ask those who has done it already? They probably would not mind to see another blockchain university to open up.

You can actually open that right now since it is a Blockchain program, but except you register it as a decentralized system before you will have the freedom and not have any issue that much with the government, but if it is coming in form of centralization, I think that the time will come when government will be fully into this system and they would want to regulate all the things that has to do with Blockchain and by then, some of the degrees you have issue may be declared illegal.

It is better that you make registration for it and explain your concept to whoever is in charge of the registration, maybe they will hear you out and then approve your university. It is a great idea and I really wish you all the lucks you will have on this project, because we need projects like this.

Yes if we want to have an degree or certificate and diploma we need to be registered at government so we will know if they accredit your degree or diploma to use in your proffesions. All we know that government is against to crypto so I think this is impossible to happen right now and there will be a long process to make it possible specially in the country here in Sout East Asia.

For whatever purposes your school aims, It should always be registered in order for your students to validate the authenticity of the degree they made after their graduation.
I just dont know if there are governments or education-related agencies that offers free registrations for newly opened universities. Maybe they'll consider it free if you register it under the public university category in partnership with the government and not as a private university.

Maybe this kind of business will be very successful in the future if you do it with a great maintain. Because blockchain is becoming mainstream right now and big country like china started to look forward for blockchain technology. In the future this world need a blockchain programmer or blockchain analyst which really have certificate and competent in blockchain technology. Many people will start study blockchain if there are university that has subjects for blockchain and becoming a blockchain degree.

Yes, it should be registered from a government, no matter if you want to issue a degree or diploma certificate. But you should go to the government and asking them about the requirements of the legality of the cryptocurrency so you can register them directly if necessary. But if cryptocurrency is not legal in your country, I think you can open free courses to the public first while you are waiting for your government to make cryptocurrency legal.

Accreditation and government approval is necessary for universities to operate. It's the main requirement for universities so they will legally release certificates for their graduating students. There are cases where students graduated in a certain university then noticed later on that the university isn't accredited, so, despite years of studying, they didn't get a diploma and just wasted years trying to get a degree.
