What will happen when we will die ?
There are many religious and scientific point of view and theories on this matter.
What is actually logical and what will happen after death ?

It varies depending on environmental conditions, but generally rigor mortis sets in within a few hours, followed by the early signs of decomposition after several days. Assuming the body is not embalmed or otherwise preserved, the decomposition process then slowly consumes the remains over a period of several weeks or months.

Lol. That's a more blunt answer to the op's question. When it comes to the aspect of having another life after we end this one, i'd love to believe that we go to somewhere where we can meet all our loved ones and live happily ever after. It's kind of comforting to look at it that way. Though no ones ever came back to live to prove that that's the case. It's probably going to be black and nothingness when we die. Which is not so bad if you think about it. That's why try to live life to the fullest.

to be blunt. but also to be detailed about another life after death

life after death is not your current consciousness/sentiants continuing. what happens instead is your energy changes to potential energy which then becomes worm and maggot food to give other biological beings energy

again its not your consciousneess or sentiants its just energy transfer .. such as a battery charged from a solar panel does not make the battery also the sun
such as a fly that grew from a maggot that fed on your flesh doesnt make you be sentiant as a fly

many say they had outer body experiences, flashbacks of life and seeing light at the end of the tunnel
this is usually your minds reaction to knowing its dying. such as distracting the mind from the pain/stress by putting you into a dream state until your final nerve stops firing

The questions is what would You like to happen?

And why do you ask?

Are your curious, are you conducting research, or are you religous or afraid?

If you have not yet, I suggest you watch the movie 21 grams, its based on true facts, that the human body becomes 21 gram lighter when you die. It is said, its because your soul leaves the body. Thats the theological & scientifically proved to be correct.

If you start to go down the road as of what the bible says, then, read the bible or go to church

No it's not! That's based on a single utterly discredited experiment. Only one of his six subjects lost the weight, which can easily be explained by lungs ceasing to function and so ceasing to cool the blood, so body temperature rises, which can cause small weight loss through sweating. The other five test subjects lost no weight.

No one will know before you die, but I assume that we will be asleep and unconscious.
if you have a religion you definitely believe that life after death is like heaven and hell.
good people live the world will get the reward of heaven, while those who do mischief in the world get hell which is full of endless torment.

Animal life always amazes me. You can keep an animal alive by transplanting organs but once it dies, nothing can bring it back. There's soul which once lost cannot be retrieved.
I wonder what happens to that soul. Our body disintegrates after the soul leaves our body.
I'm waiting for a full head transplant to happen, it could tell us about how animal body works and what dies when they die.

Most scientist accepted that your whole life time will be flash in your memory for seven days, this thing will happen once you died.

What about resuscitation? You can bring dead back to life if death occured within the last few minutes. Superstitious people say you have that much time before the soul leaves the body, but in reality the brain can live for a few minutes without oxygen and if that time passes there's permanent damage that will not be able to regenerate itself.

Our brain is like a big semiconductor that processes information in the form of electric impulses. Your body supplies the energy. There's no life after death. You damage the brain and the body becomes an empty shell.

I think that scientifically nothing happens. You just die and your body disseminates physically.
On the other hand, many religions have their own theories on what happens after we die. I don't think that they rely those theories on somewhere. They just want to "sell" those theories in order to acquire more "clients".

You are wrong. This life is temporary and the life after death is real. Do good deeds in this life otherwise you will repent when you will be waked up on the day of Judgement by the Angels and be held accountable for your deeds.

No-one knows what happens from a first-person perspective. But the science is quite clear. We all die and that is the end. The electrical signals in your brain stop, and that is when the mental 'you' ends. There are then just physical remains that gradually disappear. There is no more 'you', just as there was no 'you' for all the billions of years before your birth.

But this doesn't have to be a negative. I believe that the inevitability of death is what gives life meaning. We are defined by our actions. If your identity persists for infinite time, then your actions have no real weight. If you know you have a finite span, then every second of every day is important. Don't waste it.

The electrical signals in your brain stop, and that is when the mental 'you' ends.
Interestingly, absence or otherwise of electrical signals is not part of the criteria for diagnosing brain death. Certainly absence of electrical activity as measured by an EEG would strongly point towards brain death (although such a phenomenon can also be seen under general anesthesia - particularly if also undergoing intra-operative hypothermia as one might during cardiac bypass), but brain death can be diagnosed even in the presence of electrical activity.

Furthermore, one can experience death of the cerebral cortices, which are responsible for all higher brain functions - all sensory processing, all voluntary movements, speech and language, memory, etc. - whilst still having an intact hindbrain, which is responsible for involuntary actions - sneezing, vomiting, heart rate, blood pressure, etc. Patients such as this are particularly difficult to make decisions for regarding withdrawal of treatment; although the "person" inside is dead, the body can continue to live for several years provided it is given basic nutrition.

You can bring dead back to life if death occured within the last few minutes.
There's a saying in the medical field that "You're not dead until you're warm and dead". Severe hypothermia has a protective effect on all body tissues, and they can survive for several hours in these conditions and still be resuscitated. The longest case that I am aware of is a patient who was "dead" for 9 hours (https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(00)01021-7/fulltext) before being successfully resuscitated.

This life is temporary and the life after death is real.
[citation needed]

There is absolutely zero evidence to support the hypothesis that there is any form of life after death.

On Christians beliefs, when you die, your soul will be judged whether your destination is heaven(paradise) or hell(damnation). The basis of whether where you'll be going is your good deeds on Earth plus the bad things you did. And then when you go to heaven, you can't see those people that are in damnation and everyday life is so happy. In damnation, everyday is suffering and you can see people on heaven is always having fun while you are suffering all day and you're dying everyday.

I also read a book and it says that the moment you die, many devils will try to get your soul and pull you down and your guardian angel might be the only spirit that might help you and get those devils out of your way. And it says that the guardian angel will be the one that will guide you to purgatory in which you'll be judged.

If there is no life after death, then why people die ? Why not people remain always young and healthy and never die ?

Who made you rich and poor and whatever will happen tomorrow, who is controlling it ? Who is moving the earth and bringing the Day and Night ?

Who made our appearances and fate different from each other ?

Who are You and Me ?  Do you have control on when you should be born and when you should die ? By whom orders all this is being done ?

The one who created us, will make all the people alive again and then you might remember what i just told.

Well that is quite accurate, from a physical point of view. Probably the OP meant a spiritual, beyond physical point of view. This is the very origin of religion, a level of sentience that makes you ask this question.

What happens when AI is smart enough to ask the same? 2001 explores this, HAL9000 ponders, and fears it like most living creatures, it even fights for survival, to no avail. Tho it was later turned back on, no harm done? :) Odyssey was a nice ship...

Ah yes, humans, well this has been discussed in offtopic, but whatever we think, we are only going to find out (or not) after the fact... Think we will return to whatever we come from? Maybe life repeats? Maybe not? How long lasts eternity when you can't feel it? Time and spaces collapse. They say the same conditions were experienced in this universe at the "big bang" singularity. How about parallel universes? You'd think we could transverse those?

This planet isn't going to exist forever, we already know that. In fact the history of humanity is minuscule compared to, say, Dinosaurs (they existed far much longer). And the history of the planet itself dwarfs life on it.

What will happen when we will die?

The soul and spirit will separate from the body.

The souls of Jesus-believers will go to a temporary paradise with God, there to await the resurrection.

The souls of the others will be held in darkness, like a stasis of time, to await the resurrection there.

At the time of the resurrection, the bodies of all people will be recreated into what their adult form was or would have been, and their souls/spirits will re-enter their bodies.

The declaration of their judgment will be done by Jesus, and they all will understand the rightness of their own judgment. Then will come the sentencing.

The one who created us, will make all the people alive again and then you might remember what i just told.

1. We die because of evolution. It's complex, but it's all about investment of finite energy. Your genes put some energy into keeping you alive, and some into the creation and survival of your potential descendants. If your genes put 100% effort into keeping you alive, you wouldn't have any children and so the genes would not survive. And even with 100% investment, you'd still succumb eventually to a random accident. It's statistically inevitable. Have a read of this: https://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2016/07/13/biologically-speaking-this-is-why-humans-are-born-to-die/#245648084a48
2. Rich and poor - society, and to an extent your own actions.
3. Gravity moves the Earth. We are falling around the Sun, due to gravity.
4. Rotation of the Earth causes day and night.
5. Appearances different - evolution.
6. Fate different. Circumstances, our own actions, and blind chance.
7. You and me - we are complex organisms that have evolved from simple single-celled organisms over billions of years of natural selection and countless minor random mutations.
8. You have no control over when you are born.
9. You potentially have some control over when you will die. Circumstances, your own actions, blind luck.
10. No-one's orders. Pure physics (which begets chemistry and biology).
11. There is not 'one who created us'. There is not a scrap of evidence for that. Whereas the evidence for evolution is overwhelming.
12. If there was a God, he'd be showering me with sMerit for all the work I'm putting in on these P&S threads.

Because humans suffer from trauma and disease, and human cells are imperfect at repairing/replacing themselves and so slowly acquire mutations which will eventually impair their functioning or kill them. This isn't some mystical concept like you seem to be making it out to be.

How long lasts eternity when you can't feel it?
How long did the last 13.77 billions years feel before you were born? I imagine it's fairly similar after you're dead.

why people die ?

The question 'why do people die?' can be answered quite easily. I covered it above, but I can go at it from a slightly different angle if you want. I really wish people understood evolution better. Obviously there's more to it, but it's easier on this forum to approach it piece by piece. Let's discuss mutations.

Mutations - negative in this context - can manifest at any time in your life.
Early-onset mutations (those that cover the period of your life when you are at breeding age) are selected out. If you carry a mutation that is going to kill you in your teenage years, you won't reproduce to pass the mutation on.
Late-onset mutations (those that occur after breeding age) - guess what? Exactly. They are not selected out. You've already passed on your genes, and any late-onset stuff is included with that.

In this way, as we go from generation to generation we carry more and more crap that manifests as 'elderly' diseases. We are time bombs waiting to go off (after we've passed breeding age that is). Our bodies pack up because nothing has happened to prevent it.

You will know it if you are totally dead because how others will know there are no proof that you can exactly can say on what happen when you die.  I think you will the one who can know it but don't try it immediately because you cannot comeback because of your curiosity.

There are many religion or beliefs of the religion but I think all of us doesn't know what will happen.

This is most likely going to be a spam board for people in campaigns, but I'll throw my two cents in on this highly philospophical question.

Well the most basic level of that is that we're going to be put into the dirt and slowly decompose. It's a great process folks!

But further, do we go to Heaven or not? Who the fuck knows, and no one on this board or on this Earth that is still alive is going to be able to tell you.

The only thing that we all know is that we're going to decompose and bugs are going to eat us. That's the only thing anyone can fully confirm about death.

No, we absolutely won't be placed into the dirt to be decomposed by worms and bugs. Ask yourself. Is that you going down the drain every time you use the toilet? I mean, do you feel yourself going along through the piping after you flush? It isn't you. It's simply some stuff that used to be part of you.

The point is, at death, you have been changed. The part of you that is your "self" or "identity," is where? Nobody knows for sure... or even if it exists any longer. God hasn't explained the details that we know of.

While we are still alive, the resurrection is the thing we should be focusing on, so that we do what it takes to have a right resurrection.

Consider for a moment, if I could convince you that there was life after death, a far better life than your miserable one. Then when you marched out on the battlefield as a poor foot-soldier, destined to die like thousands of others, you'd be marching forward toward the Afterlife.

You wouldn't even notice your life was miserable and you were a poor foot soldier. The enemy would think you were crazy.

Would that create a competitive advantage on the battlefield? If it would, then since today's culture is winning combination of techniques developed over thousands of years, then we would have those ideas in our culture today.

Oh wait, we do...

That's why it is faith in God that is important.

We can see by nature that God exists. But we need to know that we are going to find eternal life. We don't know it, however. We simply believe that God has prepared it for us... except if we don't believe, that is. And that is what God requires... that we believe him.

Unfortunately, when have no way to know what happens with a dead person, so whatever i will say i have no evidence to show you.
But i can give you one example as there are three stages on people life.

1- He is in the mother Womb and that's a whole world where he breathes drink eat etc and one day find out that it was a small temporary place when he come to a bigger world on earth.

2- He thinks that he is living in this earth and this is all until he falls to death which is a transformation from this world to the next stage.

3- When you will reach the last phase of your life, in heaven or hell, then you will think the time you spend on the earth was just temporary and now you are living in bigger world forever.

A flawed analogy. Fetuses in the womb have empirical evidence that there is an existence outside of the womb they live. They can feel the movement of their mother. They can hear sounds for the external world. They can feel people palpating their mother's abdomen. They react to changes in their mother's hormone levels. We have not a single shred of evidence that there is any existence beyond the life we live.

Once again, without being disrespectful, I'm not interested in beliefs, analogies, feelings, or similar. Science is based on evidence. The evidence does not support your position.

Well, our consciousness lives on. Consciousness can't really die, because for something to end, it has to have a start, our consciousness had no beginning. Our bodies had a beginning when we took birth, but our consciousness, self awareness is something more than just brain vibrations. It lives on, without a memory to store what it experiences after every instance, but it experiences every instant there after.

For me, bothering about what will happen after death is a waste of time for two reasons:

1. There is nothing you can do about it and

2. You probably won't know whatever is going on.

For the blunt guy about the decay and maggot feasting on the body, the moment you can feel it, you are not bothered their own prayers just got answered about seeing a new big meat. To the hopefuls of meeting and seeing our loved ones, I think we can only decide for ourselves when we get there. Live life to the fullest to the best of your ability and try to stay away from things that would keep you from having everlasting joy should we get to the other side and see there is life there.

What if you're waking up from a bad dream every time you get thrown out of a helicopter? Can anybody prove that's not what happens to them?

What is matter, how real, how solid is it? Why does it dance, who calls the tune?

A question for another thread. Assuming we have one somewhere on atomic physics. Matter is almost entirely empty space. Electrons have no physical size. But who calls the tune? Science.

yes. by questioning every helicopter pilot in the area at the time of your 'sleep'
also by asking doctors to examine you for injuries.

if your uninjured and no helicopter threw anyone out. then it didnt happen

You stiffen (ironic if you can't get it up alive) and then you start decomposing and you rot if you don't get embalmed. After that you continue to rot after burial (unless you are cremated of course).

Oh, we're not just talking about the body? That depends on your religion. Or someone else's religion if it happened that you are not an adherent of the One True Faith!  ;D

There are many religious and scientific point of view and theories on this matter.
What is actually logical and what will happen after death ?
Well if we are die maybe we are turning to ashes and our soul are going to heaven and we forget anything pain in our life.
And we can also found out on what these means about in a bible.
But if we die our family will be miss us or a love one just living in this earth.
And before that happen maybe we should expend our time to them.

Pascal's wager taken to the extreme I suppose. Either your god is the real one or not. If not then you may suffer under someone else's god. Problematic with the Abrahamics which claim to be following the same god but arguing which way to reach him.

I'd rather have the Buddhist faith be true. If I follow some other religion and that was fake, as long as I was a nice guy, I get a chance to fix it on the next lifetime. Me personally though I'd probably be stuck in the cycle and never achieve nirvana. ;D

To understand what happens, first we need a definition: Soul is true consciousness and extends itself as mind and emotion, tethered to a physical body. People commonly think of “I” as body, mind, or emotion, which means that they they are under the natural illusion that they are their extensions. But the real “I” is soul consciousness, and the seeming “I” of body, emotion, and mind, is borrowed from that deeper identity.

So, to get at the answer to your question, ask “What happens to the soul during Earth life.” For most persons, though not for all, the soul remains more or less in the background and the external personality consciousness has little or no awareness of the source of its identity in soul. But though the personality remains largely ignorant of most of its higher nature, the soul consciousness (you) on its on plane is fully aware of the personality and its experiences in the world.

What we, as soul, are doing during Earth life is learning—we gain knowledge and experience, and grow in love and wisdom. We are slowly evolving and perfecting all three of our vehicles (body, mind emotion).

So then, your question, “What happens to the human soul after death?” The answer is simple. What happens is the same thing that happens during Earth life: we learn, we evolve, and we become more perfect expressions of love because love is the primary nature of the soul. This means that the soul, after the death of the physical body, no longer remains completely in the background and the illusion of “I” as limited body-emotion-mind is gradually broken. There is then a fuller awakening to who and what we are. And just as in Earth life, afterlife includes interactions with other people—other souls, minds, loves. The adventure that is life at its best in the physical world—that same adventure occupies us after death. Your life, the life of the soul, is expressed in an unfolding future that is unlimited, and the nature of that life transcends the most idealistic human conceptions.

No kidding, most esoteric teachings and religions come to the conclusion that when we die, we just get rid of our physical body. Then it is separated from other bodies (the astral body and others, there are 7 of them, as far as I remember). In short, we are returning to our incomprehensible beginning. Then again, a particle from this common principle is introduced into a new body. But this is not always so, also the soul can go to higher levels of knowledge. Therefore, I think reincarnation is the most rational conclusion. The energy is infinite, the soul cannot just disappear (lose its potential).

Even stars appear to have limited lifespan, and (this) universe which appears to be in an expansion phase. But the time periods involved are so huge, its like asking an ant about human lifetime. It might just not be possible for a sentient race to ever answer this question during is blink of existence on a cosmic timescale. What IS this cosmos anyway? Where it came from, where it will go. Big bang what was it? How it came to exist? Its kinda known as the "singularity" that gave birth to (this) universe, but is that all there is? Where did these matter came from and how it got started? Some speculate it is an endless cycle of expansion contraction, but the only thing observable now is expansion that is accelerating.

Do not underestimate thinking either, its not a "complete waste of time". Ask you this question, how could Einstein possibly have found that time was relative? Its not like he had the super precise clocks of today, or spaceships to do measurements with (his theory were only confirmed after humans went into orbit: set two identical clocks observe them remain in sync for a year on Earth, then give one to an Astronaut for a mission weeks or months long; when he returns back his would appear to be late, or "slowed down").

You cannot perceive it, but even the time for someone in the street is a very tiny bit different to someone on the top of the Empire State, this is because things are moving relatively slower close to the ground.

How could possibly someone in the early 20ieth century could possibly correctly guess this? People say "genius" now, but what was it back then? He didn't even live to see that confirmed...

General relativity (GR), also known as the general theory of relativity or (GTR), is the geometric theory of gravitation published by Albert Einstein in 1915 and the current description of gravitation in modern physics. General relativity generalizes special relativity and refines Newton's law of universal gravitation, providing a unified description of gravity as a geometric property of space and time, or spacetime. In particular, the curvature of spacetime is directly related to the energy and momentum of whatever matter and radiation are present. The relation is specified by the Einstein field equations, a system of partial differential equations.

How did he came up with it in 1915? Cosmic revelation? Why would the cosmos bother to reveal rocket flight to an ant? Human imagination? But humans imagine all sort of nonsense all the time, why would this be correct, pure randomness? A broken clock always point the correct hour twice a day? Could there be truths in various spiritual disciplines waiting, but unable to be proved within our lifetimes, or that of our species, even tho they may actually be the truth (or not)?

Seriously stop to think when someone in 1915 tells you your time is different to mine if you are traveling faster. And it was true, the discovered one of the "hidden" laws of this universe, a Jew! :)

Couldn't the prophets and wise people of the past somehow "guessed" some things correctly? You know this "Atom" word actually comes from ancient Greece? It turned out "atoms" were not the smallest particle as originally predicted, actually we probably assigned the name too early, before discovering the "sub-atoms" that form them but there happens to be a smallest indivisible particle that only contains energy, a "mysterious" thing that keeps it in motion (and our bodies are built on those, go figure).

Where do the babies get their "programming" from? We know a couple exchanges genetic material, and some "traits" get inherited, but for the most part, this person's "soul" or whatever it is that makes someone do certain things and not certain others, come from.

Asexual reproduction actually doesn't even exchange genetic material, but it still forms a "being" that is not his source. A clone made of you, is NOT you, even it if looks identical to you, it is another being. Because of taboo this hasn't been observed much yet, but eventually it will. Corals do this in nature, by the way. They have the choice of asexual reproduction to growth its population, but its homogeneous offspring could all potentially be weak by single type of, so encountering another coral and exchanging genes is preferred "just in case" (to deliver its species from extinction).

Contrary to what some people believe, the spiritual and scientific paths are not necessarily antagonist, in some things they are, but in many others they share position. Again, someone like Einstein could easily been declared a prophet in the past (or a heretic and burned at the stake). You wouldn't believe how the ancient Romans viewed the universe. There is a book (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_architectura) that survived the ages (and the church, etc) its about architecture. Try to read it, its incredible, like a time machine, a look 2000 years into the past, dedicated to Caesar Augustus no less. Some of the things are nonsense, some do make sense within their (limited) cosmic vision of things, and some are incredible approximation to what would only be discovered (or confirmed by science) thousands of years later. Aren't we limited to ours? Surely will be said, 2000 years from now, if humans still exist then.

In the spiritual aspect, the result varies base on the religion you belong to. But if are not associated with any of them and you don't believe that there's a mighty Creator above us, you shall believe the scientific aspect.

Possibly that we won't even know that we're already dead because we don't breath anymore by that time and our brain cells and our heart wouldn't work anymore.

Same thing that happens when a seed dies —
You bury a seed, it grows to become a plant... some grow to become trees.
Whoever tells you that there is no life after death is decieving you. By the way, there are two kinds of death: spiritual death and physical death

Note: Bad seed do not grow, so as bad (sinful) people. They will be judged and destroyed.
Good seeds need to be watered and nourished (reading the Bible constantly) to grow spiritually.
Those who live in the spirit of GOD are alive while those who are controlled by the flesh are dead. This is the absolute truth!  Read your Bible and obey it, especially the new testament, then watch what will happen to you. When we all die the physical death, we will be resurrected to live forever if we obeyed the word of GOD.

By the way, there are non-Christian who live by the law written in the heart. Those people will likely obtain mercy from GOD.
Infact, when they hear the word of GOD for the first time, they will immediately believe because it goes in harmony with the law written in their hearts. They will never reject the MESSIAH who is the TRUTH , the WAY and LIFE.

Quote
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares."— Romans 2:12-16

The Hearse Song

Version 1:

The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out.
The ones that go in are lean and thin.
The ones that come out are fat and stout.
Your eyes fall in and your teeth fall out.
Your brains come tumbling down your snout.
Be merry, my friends, be merry.

Version 2:

The worms crawl in,
The worms crawl out,
Into your stomach,
And out your mouth.

They eat your intestines,
They scramble your heart.
Now you feel like
You're all apart.

This is how
It is to die
You end up looking
Like apple pie.

Version 3:

Don't ever laugh when a hearse goes by,
Or you may be the next to die.

They wrap you up in a bloody sheet,
And bury you under about six feet.

All goes well for a couple of weeks,
But then your coffin begins to leak.

The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out,
The worms play pinochle on your snout.

Your stomach turns a slimy green,
And pus comes out of you like whipped cream.

You lap it up with a piece of bread,
And that's what you eat when you are dead.

Version 4:

The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out.
The ones that go in are lean and thin.
The ones that come out are fat and stout.
Your eyes fall in and your teeth fall out.
Your brains come tumbling down your snout.
They eat your eyes and they eat your nose.
They eat the jelly between your toes.
Be merry, my friends, be merry.

I am not going to deep after death of life. But I have one question to all Bitcoiners, what will happen with your money which is protected with private key and the private key know only one you?

Then the coins won't ever move anymore, and are "lost". Meaning, less coins available, slightly higher price of those that remain in circulation. Indeed many coins have been lost already, with forgotten passwords, lost private keys/seeds, etc.

If you want to pass it, you have to make sure the seed words are given to those in your will. Remember, private keys are not handled directly anymore, only seed words. These can be in a bank vault or some other secure place, always.

Nothing else but the seed words is required to give a wallet to another person, and they don't even need to know of its existence. You can even leave detailed instructions if you want.

For me, bothering about what will happen after death is a waste of time for two reasons:

1. There is nothing you can do about it and

2. You probably won't know whatever is going on.

Points 1 and 2 are both true. However, whilst belief in life-after-death has zero meaning for those who are already dead, it has a great deal of meaning for the living.

Yes, it can act as a powerful driver of behaviour, often in a detrimental way as in the example on a previous page about soldiers or (can't believe I'm agreeing with BADecker here) suicide bombers.

But it can also act as an important crutch to those who for whatever reason need that belief in an afterlife to help and support them in their actual here-and-now life. Death rituals such as funerals are vitally important to surviving friends and relatives as a means of formally acknowledging death and the transition to whatever is afterwards. It can help bereaved people to believe that their loved one has now departed their mortal body and is now a soul ascending to heaven, rather than just decomposing gradually in the dirt.

Personally I am an atheist and have zero belief in life after death. But I will accept that the belief itself can be a source of good.

for sure our body will turns into ashes again and that is proven by science and everything(though there are some cases that decomposition did not happen but isolated cases only)

spiritual is what i believe and that is of course our soul will leave our earthly bodies and will wait till the judgement happens.

but i do respect all answers from different perspective because we are entitled to our own opinion and beliefs .

You're thinking of "modern science" and just as with "modern art", it's complete dog vomit with something the cat dragged in on top. I think you'll find if the scientific method is employed it will all be in line with scripture.
