Title: Took me 80 minutes to receive BCH on my Bitstamp account
Post by: Bossian on November 06, 2019, 09:22:22 AM
I remember back in 2017 when I started to get really interested in cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin Cash was supposed to be that super fast coin, much faster than Bitcoin.
How sad that over 2 years later, it takes 80 freaking minutes for 12 confirmations (fee: 1.82 SATOSHI) so I can finally receive the funds in my Bitstamp wallet in order to convert to EUR and withdraw the money.

Most cryptos are terrible (the king Bitcoin included) when it comes to use them for transactions, the fact that the price is volatile makes it stressful for high amounts if you have to wait for over an hour.

Cryptos can be great for quick profit, but for real transactions they are very limited.

If you are mainly using Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash that might be the case, that is why people are trying to figure out how to solve the scalability issue. As for me that is not using Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash mainly, this is not a problem because I always use other cryptos to make a transaction.
With Stellar you only need 5 seconds to send a transaction from one wallet to another, XRP is the same.
Dogecoin at most only takes 2 minutes to send a transaction.
I do not see this as a problem compared to sending a real money across the world that takes a day or 2 days to complete.

This is not always the case with transactions especially when they are from exchanges, many transactions are sent manually that is why they appeared in wallets very late, you can't judge transactions speed of a coin when they are been sent from exchange to your wallet, you want to get the real speed? try sending from a BCH wallet to another BCH wallet

Transaction speed is always discussed for each coin and altcoin, because this speed is also included in one of the advantages of coins and altcoin to attract their customers in the market. The faster the better, the cheaper the costs will be a profit. Each type of crypto has a different delivery time and we should know about this.
IMO, each exchange has a different confirmation time in terms of crypto deposits, such as Bitstamp where you need 80 minutes to see your BCH in the account there. Apart from the time of deposit and confirmation of withdrawal, I think the transaction fee for each exchange also varies.

maybe the problem in the exchange you use, many people make withdrawals simultaneously so they have to queue or wait their turn to send the Bitcoin cash. If from the exchange usually do a checking before sending. Each exchange is indeed different from the facilities provided, sometimes before sending it checks and takes time.

like the example I sent DOGE yesterday, it took about 8 minutes to be inspected by the exchange, and after it was sent / the confirmation block turned out to arrive in less than 2 minutes in my wallet.

There is always Ethereum as 2nd choice if you cannot afford it with bitcoin. The good thing is now you got away with BCH.
Next time use another coin. The truth will always prevail, as just a clone of bitcoin they cannot really do what bitcoin does, they are the worst.

Ethereum though is cheap and fast as long as you pay the right gas.
If still you are having problem with the fees and time then go for XRP. BCH had always been my last choice or maybe never.

I actually earned 3 EUR in this 80 minutes process, because the price moved in my favor.

But I would be pissed if I lost money, and it happened before with Bitcoin.
