What's best for gambling online? Crypto or Fiat? As for me, I'd rather go full crypto than Fiat for many obvious reasons. Crypto may be extremely volatile, but it's anonymous (depending on the coin) and censorship-resistant. Fiat may bring convenience to people that are not tech-savvy enough to understand crypto, but it can easily be traced by worldwide governments.

Crypto enables online casinos to perform their operations in a somewhat anonymous fashion. Both the gambler and the owner benefits from this. But I understand that crypto is still not accepted at physical casinos. In this regard, Fiat is the winner.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts? ???

I don’t play online casinos with fiat money because i usually go to actual casinos and play there, and mostly use my bitcoin to gamble online which is more convenient for me. Crypto gambling enables us to have fun even if we are at home and makes transactions even faster and still your identity is unknown. Online gambling using fiat money is quiet boring for me, i’d rather explore the cryptoworld and have fun.

Gambling with crypto is more comfortable than doing the same with fiat. The process involved is big, and that requires patience to fulfill all the necessities required from the banking end. With crypto these days websites have got inbuilt wallets for majority of the cryptocurrencies in the top order. I prefer to play with bitcoin, ethereum and xrp.

Personally, I tend to gamble with fiat since the poker houses I play at only accept fiat (e.g. chips). However, I've dabbled with online gambling with cryptocurrencies on several different platforms including casinos and sportsbooks, but I wouldn't say this is my usual.

So far, I don't think I've seen any gambling platforms that offer both cryptocurrency and fiat gambling. Though I would expect it would be quite easy to integrate into brick and mortar casinos, but quite difficult for online casinos due to regulatory issues.

Online casinos make your life easier so to speak. We are lucky that we have crypto now that can be used on these online gambling sites. But for physical casinos, of course, I still use fiat as crypto is not yet of use in my local casino. But most of the time, I use online casinos for so many reasons that everyone is already enjoying - comfort of playing while you are at home, no distraction, no need to dress up or any of that sort and many more.

Just what you have said, I chose crypto over the other because of less hassle and anonymous, it is also fast.

Where i come from the tax on gambling winnings is so high and it breaks my heart see almost over 20% of my winnings go to the ridiculous tax collectors . As for me, every currency or asset used is the best since Gambling is Gambling. If I saw a certain bet or games that catch my interest, then I will take it no matter what is used on either crypto, fiat, etc. Been doing gambling outside the crypto world that's why I don't have a concern or issue regarding gambling with the used of fiat.

But honestly, there shouldn't be a fiat vs crypto comparison here since the majority of people here in this forum will surely choose crypto. Also, both have advantages and disadvantages. If we take this discussion outside the crypto forum, we will surely see that most people have different preferences regarding these.

I prepared crypto online gambling than fiat online gambling, honestly believe me or not I am not playing gambling before through online because of crypto online gambling I start enjoy to get the opportunity. I gamble fiat illegal gambling in my street it called pusoy  a card games, but after I try online crypto gambling I enjoy it no hassle to caught by the authorities.

We love Cryptocurrency because of its features like decentralization, anonymity, less charges and easy to transact.

There are countries that do not allow gambling and have strict laws. Cryptocurrency based gambling are like safe heaven for these gamblers. This is one of the primary reason why Bitcoin casinos are a hit.

Problem with Fiat is transaction charges and the chances of it getting declined, while you try to deposite it to the gambling platform. That does not seems to be a problem when you are using cryptos.

I'll also go for Crypto for convenience, I don't have a credit card right now, but that does not mean that even I don't have option I will not pick Crypto, I like the anonymity and it's faster to transfer coins using Crypto, and of course gambling sites are already going Crypto too.

Since we are on bitcointalk forum, i think you alraedy know the answer from most of us even though we don't reply on this thread. Gambling with fiat is like an old way to gamble and it's seems will be fully changed  to cryptocurrency in some years later. If we can gamble by annonymous and we can do that everytime and everywhere we want, i don't see any reason for us to gamble with fiat anymore

Only minus for me is volatility. Volatility in Bitcoin does not yet have a generally accepted index since cryptocurrency as an asset class is still in its nascent stages, but we do know that Bitcoin is capable of volatility in the form of 10x changes in price versus the U.S. dollar, in a relatively short period of time.

Nah better stick to fiat if that's all gonna happen besides fiat has been used widely before the cryptocurrency exist. If you were a small player better use fiat but if you are a big time player, you might wanna switch to cryptocurrency if you want to protect your identity and you will have some security of privacy if you use cryptocurrency over the internet.

Crypto is much better for betting, and if you find good place for betting with no kyc that is even better.

Crypto for sure, If the volatility is the only concern in crypto then just use stable coin whenever you have done in gambling for the day and just convert it back again to crypto that whatever you desired to use in gambling.
I do this often times when I'm tight with funds and using my personal earnings in FIAT to convert to crypto for gambling. Using fiat to play online gambling is really hassle. All online casino that accepting fiat
needs a document about you so that they comply on the law. Some country prohibits online gambling too so it's very hard to find a legit casino that accepting fiat.

In my experience, YES, it is easy and fast transactions. Although it has regulatory issues is still function and updated day by day to avoid more problems, because it is just an online platform, it means digital.

Using crypto for faster transactions and lots of betting options is the way to go

I prefer to use crypto to gamble than using fiat because I cannot find a gambling place here, so when I knew about crypto, and I saw that there a crypto gambling site, I tried to play using bitcoin first. But after I knew and have Dogecoin, I choose Dogecoin to play gamble because I see and calculate that it's cheaper if I use Dogecoin to gamble than to use bitcoin. Besides that, the Dogecoin will arrive fast than bitcoin, and the transaction fee is not too big compared with bitcoin.

And even though there is a gambling place here, I still using crypto and playing gambling online because I don't want my government to track me down and investigate me. Gambling with fiat and crypto will have advantages and disadvantages, and that will depend on the gambler itself, which coin that will he choose to gamble.

Volatility is not gonna be a problem when you use stable coins.
The two most basic reasons why gamblers in crypto space chooses crypto over fiat is because of It's complete anonymity while placing bets and avoid excessively taxed after you won. These are also the reason why the mainstream local wallet in my country are very strict with huge amount of deposited crypto in your wallet. They are making phone interviews to account holders who made huge deposits and withdrawals in their wallet, and If you happen to mention about gambling, your account will be limited the amount of deposits and withdrawals.

They are both good. However, if you want to remain constant what I mean the expenses and the gains are all at the same line you'll be good o using fiats in your game. In addition, casinos are legal there maybe an illegal but the issues are maybe on the permit stuff and requirements but mostly are legal. Going back, if you want an extreme challenge with your expenses and gains what I mean is that the changes that crypto has that direclty affect your expenses and gains, then, you'll be good with crypto. But they are both good.

In some consideration that we are using crypto gambling sites, nothing to do but to spend crypto out there but more gamblings which are not. Actually fiat and crypto is both good when it comes gambling.  But for me i always prefer to used crypto because through the volatility I'm able to gain some profits unlike fiat.and in our country if you use fiat through online it's not easy and you need more applications and you need to used your identity not the same with crypto which is through any crypto wallet you can withdraw and deposit anytime without hassle.

It depends upon the place you are gambling. If you are gambling online then the best way is to gamble with the crypto money. But if you are going in a physical casino, then it is better to play with fiat. Also most physical casino does not offer you to play with crypto so the options are limited if you are at casino in your town.

Well, as for me, I will always choose to gamble with crypto especially when I'm using any crypto gambling platform. First, it's compatible to use crypto in online gambling. Next, my gains could be profitable when the market situation gets better. Also, there are lots of potential altcoins which are good for gambling and hold it later on when we reach our target goal.

For me, it's full crypto because gambling is illegal here lol so no way I'm risking linking my bank account with illegal gambling site. I tried fiat gambling but there are strict requirements on reputable gambling sites but with crypto, you don't need to comply with the KYC and you also don't need to comply with the high minimum deposit as here you can do it even at $10 value or even less.

It actually depends on the gambler, some gamblers prefer fiat because they find fun and excitement when they gamble at a traditional casino but some also prefer crypto because it is easier and convenient and also they can gamble anywhere even at home. I don't have enough time to go outside and gamble in casinos there, so I prefer playing online and of course, using crypto for betting. I am just playing for myself, and I want no hassle when playing, so I prefer gambling at home. Because when I go on the real-world casino's the noise is too much so I can't really enjoy my game. That's very important factor to be considered. In my country, gambling is banned in 26 out of 28 provinces/states. Well, after I discovered and using crypto, and as soon as I can, I use crypto for each of my transactions well because I find it convenient to use and a lot easier. I think both of the currency could be a great gambling currency in my opinion. I think if you really go to casino and gambling places more often fiat money is the one that is used and it is I think more convenient to use in a gambling place. Well, i used both cryptocurrency and fiat when playing gambling, but their specific place on where i used these two currencies to play gambling. Ofcourse i used fiat currency when i am playing at the casino because casinos does not yet adopt cryptocurrency, and i used cryptocurrency when i am just playing gambling on a crypto gambling sites.

I prefer to use crypto. Honestly I have never gambled using fiat currency at all. My reason is simple, if crypto many sites that provide free so I can use to gamble. i find this question biased because we are in crypto world so only few will answer fiat or maybe even none.

Personally I prefer crypto for anonymity, security, transparency, and tax free. It allows me to gamble whenever and wherever I am which gives a lot of advantage to me. Also, when you gamble with crypto, you can assure that no one will judge you no matter how much you win or lose. I gamble both on fiat and crypto. Fiat when offline and crypto when online. They are both convenient to use in their own terms. There is a little problem I encounter with crypto gambling though. The particular app I am using in converting crypto to fiat is clear on its terms that any amount coming from online gambling, betting, or casinos are not authorized funds. It is strictly prohibited. I am forced to divert my gambling funds to another wallet before finally depositing them to the app whenever I need cash.

Yes, of course I really like and will choose gambling with crypto, not caring about the limitations that occur in gambling using crypto as said in the OP crypto is still not accepted at physical casinos which means there are still many limitations in this regard, because for me the most important thing is to remain anonymous about gambling. Correct. I guess that will help gamblers like us to stay under the radar from other people if they don't want other people to know their activity while they online on the internet. I am a crypto believer myself but for me gambling it doesn't matter wether it is in fiat or in crypto.

Lot of crypto casinos, sports book claim to offer anonymous betting but I already had several occasions on several platforms that all of a sudden they need kyc verification. So in the beginning it can be anonymous but when you want a large cashout they still ask your kyc details.
Beside that I have seen many stories of people got their account prozen or locked for no reason, funds confiscated, not receiving their high won amounts. But they can do that. So yeah I like gambling on crypto platforms but only for fun. When I bet large amounts (mostly poker and sportsbooks) I prefer fiat rooms. I do not care to run through the kyc procedure. But I know when I am betting on for example Betfair or playing poker on poker stars I will always receive my winnings even if I would 100k in a poker tournament.


Just imagine what if crypto never have existed. It's very hard to reach minimum withdrawal just by playing using faucets of a gambling site. I am also using faucets to play but I wasn't able to win in the long run. Faucets only give a little amount of btc to let you play, and it will take a lot of time to earn and you need consecutice winnings to do that. You must be very lucky or you have some strategy to at least achieve minimum withdrawal.

This is not about Bitcoin only. Most casinos nowadays offer the Dogecoin option, and you can use the cheapness of this coin (in terms of transaction costs) to your own advantage. For example, there can be a sort of free giveaway or faucet which you can claim every now and then (say, when your balance is empty). So you claim free coins, and then bet them all on a very high multiplier (like 100x or so). If you lose, you repeat until you win

When you win and the amount is still below the minimum withdrawal, you simply deposit your own doges, make a couple of bets on a low multiplier, then proceed to withdraw all. To make things clear, I don't use this technique myself as the output is still mostly dust (and it is kind of cheating) but it is working (we used that at PD some years ago with Bitcoin during the so-called "happy hour")

If it's traditional gambling like dice, roulette, then I use only and only crypto and not fiat, as it kind of makes me believe that anonymity helps me to win more on games based on our luck. But, in sports gambling, I prefer both cash and crypto because it's not totally luck based.

I don't really agree with that. On fiat bookies I use Neteller, Skrill and paysafecard. all 3 of them do not charge any fee and load my gambling accounts instantly. So there are many ways to fund your account on a fiat gambling site instantly. Even credit card deposits are instant. I think the only method that can take some time is a local bank transfer.

Agree crypto platforms do not require kyc but wait until you make a huge win. You're lucky to get away with those winnings, most gambling sites won't allow you to withdraw profits from faucet as it can be seen as faucet abuse.

my personal experience, gambling with crypto is more comfortable than fiat.  Before getting to know crypto, I bet sports at one of the world's biggest gambling sites but to make a deposit is very complicated because I have to do it via credit card...  Betting on crypto gambling sites is easier, we only need to deposit the cryptocurrency recommended by the gambling site and some provide a faucet that makes it easy to bet when gambler runs out of capital.

Eh, I'd rather gamble with crypto online because I don't initially have to submit any verification to gamble, and I've never had any issues with winning large amounts such that sites start asking me for verification, but then again I also look into what sites do this every now and then and I also don't gamble terribly high amounts of money. You are taking the risk as in your country it is banned then be it Fiat or crypto it won’t matter much . If once the list is take. You might get in trouble just on a precautionary note . Instead keep investing in crypto or play from a legal country where it is allowed .

Yeah, this is your own choice as to if you feel comfortable with fiat then you can gamble with fiat and if you like to gamble with crypto then you can use crypto for gambling. For online we will need to have crypto like bitcoin etc and in the regular casino, I prefer using fiat as for them it’s reliable to use fiat instead of crypto so keep both in your pockets while gambling.

It seems most of the bigtime gambler is now prefer to use the cryptocurrency when playing because of its anonymity. If ever you want to experience a good gambling game its better to use fiat currency and go to the casino and play different games. I gamble with crypto exclusively but I gamble on fiat levels. How I do is ; I put in 50 dollars worth of crypto into casinos and gamble with crypto, yet I follow my losses or wins in fiat levels in my mind, so if I put in 50 bucks, I need to spend it for a whole week before I spend any other money, if it is over I stop, if I end up winning and have 100 bucks then I remove the extra 50 bucks and keep playing with the rest until I lose and play that won 50 bucks another week.

So, as you can see I am actually gambling with crypto and that is great and all but in my mind I follow it in fiat as well, that is why gambling is never fully crypto for me, even while betting satoshis I count the cents. Hopefully one day we won't have to keep track in fiat and crypto becomes bigger.

I've never visited a casino in real life, and I'm not thinking about it. I rarely visit bet offices to bet on sports predictions, but I usually prefer to do so online. In particular, it is more appealing to me to use crypto currency for ease of use and I don't like to use cash for gambling. I think we should first distribute our money to buy some crypto to gamble with and then gamble with fiat as well so the one gives us more profit will be follow for next time. It's mainly because of regulation and larger gambling companies adapting slowly at board level. We see gaming sites on a lighter license adopting crypto first. It will be waiting for the first large/public gaming company to accept crypto payment processing first before crypto as a gambling currency will be the next step. For us who earn crypto in online or in this forum to be specific, we might not value our crypto that much compared to the fiat that we earned through our day job as what we are earning here can be considered as extra income or maybe appropriate to call it as reward and with that reward its just right to enjoy it and gambling is one of them.

In my area, we can send/deposit some money through their bank account, and they give credit to our account so we can start to gamble. I don't want to use that way since I need to spend that money. Yes, you are right. Sometimes I used that way, but sometimes, I used some money from my trading profit to buy a coin and send it in to a gambling site. Be careful if you use your bank account to send the money for gamble because the banks can do anything to our account and they can freeze our account in anytime. You should avoid that way if you want to gamble and you can choose to gamble using crypto. I doubt you can hide from the government or banks because once you get to win a lot, at some point you'll run in to the problem of cashing out your money. There are exchanges that don't do verifications but eventually it's getting less and less as countries are starting to notice the demand for cryptocurrency exchanges.

You can hide it through money laundering such as using mixers for your transaction become untracable since mixer's solution is to transfer such balance in a way that no one would know where it transfer that certain amounts. On the other hand, government are graduly tracking them down but it's still it's currently one of the best solution for you to hide your transactions online.

Or you can simply sell your coins through P2P transactions. It is not that hard to avoid the banks nowadays because there already millions of people into crypto. Or if you can spend and make use of cryptocurrencies without converting them into fiat, that would be better. It wont be a big problem IMO related to cashing out big win. If I'm in the position or big winning and worry about such thing then I'll just split it into many withdrawal. Send it to exchange lets say once a week or a month.

No, I cannot hide from the government because they will be suspicious of my bank account, and they will investigate me, and ask me where the money comes. That could be true that the exchanges will apply verification to avoid the illegal use of the money, and they want to help the government to prevent the bad thing that can come later. for me i also enjoy using crypto but it does not come to my mind that i use crypto more than fiat because of the identity or privacy issues but because crypto is what i have  . i work online and they pay me crypto so why should i use fiat money when i already have a crypto ? besides i didnt have a fiat money at most times because i am a person that has alotof debts and alot of daily and monthly expenses to pay  . when i see a casino or a kind of gambling  offline i think i can play using fiat but only with small amounts compare to what i can spend using a crypto online .

Then just give the government the right cut if they ask through "taxes"..we can always hide with our government if we are smart but most people can't so they easily get caught and if they don't have the knowledge to hide, they should just comply with the rules to avoid problem in the future.

Gambling in fiat is more hassle than gambling in crypto. I'm not saying that I'm gambling in casinos but in our town, every year there are some group of people who are building a place where people are gambling there and we call it "peryahan". Here in my country especially based on my own experience, I have never experienced such thing. I mean the bank never freeze my account because I use my bank account for gambling activity. There are countries that prohibit gambling as the main source of bank deposit if you are only an ordinary gambler. There has to be a stable and legitimate source of income other than just gambling wins. It will always be crypto and even in the near future I didn't intend to use fiat in online gambling. One explanation is the rule. There's no specific law in our country regarding crypto gambling, so I'm pretty safe from regulation, despite how much I've played or earned. I'm still unfamiliar with using fiat gambling site. What if they need KYC that I'm ignoring or they're unlawfully operating that might smear my clean reputation. So when you have online gambling operation, choosing crypto is the best thing to do.

As long as our country doesn't prohibit cryptocurrency, we can still use crypto to gamble, but maybe the government can ban access to visit the gambling site. And if that happens, we can visit the gambling website using the VPN so we can play gambling using cryptocurrency. I think the KYC is only applied in some of the gambling websites, and if we don't want to complete the KYC, we can search the gambling site, which doesn't require KYC.

There is still a restriction and a lot of people doesn't like about it. There are still KYC in other sites, it may be fiat or crypto currency.
