It is happening in every industry. Sometimes, there is just no word that can describe a situation and people start to create slang. As previous member stated, such words as hodl or to the moon are crypto slang.

Those words are very popular and a trivia for how that word(HODL) was created. It all started in this forum way back then and you can still view it.

I AM HODLING (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=375643.0)

I think it's more on Hodl, FUD, when lambo or when moon. That's what I'm always getting from people who are engaged in cryptocurrency. And even in some cryptocurrency group talk, the emoji is rocket or even moon.

I find this very interesting because in all areas people have their own slang terms, it makes people who are coming now look more about things to at least understand what the terms are about.

To the moon  ;D
Very nice, usually preceded by the question: When exchange  :P if you know what I mean

This adds to the diversity of terms used in a unique niche. This term is often used to describe a state or object or something that often happens, and only applies specifics. This term needs to be learned by beginners in order to better understand the cryptocurrency ecosystem so that it adapts well and is not trapped at a loss.

I think most people here already know and understand those words. They are familiar words for traders or investors since they may see those words almost every day. Especially, for these words: HOLD, FUD, To the moon. People often use them on many occasions in various discussions related to market trends and price prediction.

And the most dangerous of them all are FOMO and REKT although one usually leads to the other but not always

FOMO (FEAR OF MISSING OUT): This usually happens a lot to starry eyed newbies who have heard stories about how one single good ICO or coin in an exchange could turn one into a millionaire overnight so when they see a coin mooning like crazy or hear so much hype about a new upcoming ICO, they get swept u in the frenzy and invest (most times a lot of money) into those projects and the end result most times is that they get rekt although this doesn't always happens a few get lucky but in most cases, they get rekt.

REKT (WRECKED): Just like the name implies, it means that the trader/investor has been wrecked, their money has gone into a shady coin that would never give them the millions they crave, infact it did quite the opposite and they lost their hard earned funds and one of the leading reasons why people get rekt is FOMO.

I do. It's basically one of the first few things a newbie learns about cryptocurrency asides learning how to create myetherwallet and maybe a Bitcointalk account. These terminologies are commonly used in crypto chats too and it makes it fun and interesting. I remember when Philippines were more popular with Telegram group questions such as "when moon" and "when distribution". Lol

Who are working in Cryptocurrency, they are known about these terms and who are not linked with this industry they also know some terms but not all terms, so these are using common by the cryptocurrency community.

Ordinary terms to facilitate the word on a project or a coin. And it is commonly used by people to simplify and understand the word.
Like this coin will be to the moon next year, the Bitcoin hold will rise year-end, etc. So my view is familiar with this kind of thing.

These evolution of words or expression came from stock market and then adopted in crypto space with some additional built exclusively in the ecosystem. We might encounter more strange terms in the future due to people keep on inventing new terms to express their feelings. Yet some it are only strange for new comers.

Is there a need to have a point of view in this?

Those are just terms which are being used to avoid typing so much. We are lazy people.  ;D
This is just the same as those terms they used in social media.
LOL,ROFL, or whatever it is which sometimes I dont understand anymore.

They might make a dictionary of this in the future.  ;D

In my opinion, if we are already interested in investing in the cryptocurrency market, we must be patient and not easily panic when there are many FOMO, FUD or whatever the term may be because believing our own analysis should make us calmer when the market is volatile

To the moon  ;D

This appeared many times when ICO's was becoming a trend  :).

HOLD becomes widely recommended if it is already bought at a high price, even though HOLD is not always a good step specially for altcoin for me it's too risky.

Those are common thing to know if you're into cryptocurrency. To the moon? More like "When moon". Lots of people keep saying to the moon despite it went the other way around almost like only a wishful thinking. There's also Technical Analysis (TA), Fundamental Analysis (FA). And most cases the use of terms on a new project of altcoins is "When exchange", and other thing such as "Lambo" and "REKT". I like how we have slang words of our own.

I think this is just a term that is often used by traders or people involved in the crypto market. In this forum, many members use this term and I think the newbie will gradually understand the meaning of the term

Yes, these languages are very important for those who have not or just want to dive into the world of crypto. Because every day we definitely see these languages in every post, article, or anything written by the community or developer.
Besides, for 'shilling', for some reason this always makes me laugh out loud when I see them in an exchange chatbox  :D

New terms always appear because of panic, it will become a new trend, new terms that make it popular.
That's good because I see that outside crypto there are also those who use these terms and sentences.
