Title: The (Not So Elaborate) CryptoBridge scam
Post by: Chris! on December 06, 2019, 01:21:04 PM
What happened: I was duped in early 2018 to send some funds to this (ehem) "DEX" but very quickly found out that they were in fact a DEX only by buzzword-filled name. They were having some trouble with their centralized gateways.

Eventually my funds were credited, placed an order, send a little more bitcoins and logged out. That's the last time I had access to my funds. I'd say the issue was partly user error but mostly their buggy UI that was the cause for the loss of funds.

Anyway, now to present day. There was a vague announcement with zero details from a CryptoBridge rep on the Ravencoin discord. They popped in, said there should be an announcement that they're closing and left abpruply, never to be seen or heard from again. Fascinating.

I've reached out to support before but they told me this funny story about how they didn't hold my keys because, well, you know, they're a DEX. So because of their incompitence I lost a good amount of money. Damn. I wrote it off then and there.

Now I know they're actually a custodial exchange and they're regulated in the EU. Again, fascinating stuff. They somehow held up their DEX mirage for about 2 years.

Anyway, I've reached out to support so there is a trail of me demanding my coins. Hopefully some day law enforcement see it and figure this out, but CryptoBridge always has been a scam and is currently exit scamming.

PM/Chat Logs: N/A they went AWOL right away re: my issue and now their discord is deleted.
Additional Notes: If you're also a victim please post about it so we can rally against these fake DEX owners and get our money back.

Sorry to hear about this.
I am sure they can pay you back (if they want) because they charged very high listing fees for any new coin listing there, and all this lasted long time.

Erasing all social media is clear indication of exit scam

I am not a CryptoBridge user but what about the active users there, can their funds be returned again?
And it seems like the withdrawal limit is still available on December 15th after I just visited the website, but CryptoBridge needs complete documents to withdraw, hmmm it seems that this exchange will burden the user.

Cryptobridge exit scam very clever way.
They announced mandatory KYC to all users without warning.
Then they delist about 100 coins.
Then they deny that they will shut down.
And finally announced they will shut down and close all social media accounts.

Cryptobridge was a scam since the beginning, they promote themselves as a DEX when they are clearly not, they are a centralized gateway to Bitshares.
The shitcoiner Notsofast promoted this scam in many occasions because his shitcoin Trollcoin was listed there so he is responsible too.

Same here: passed KYC, then they Delisted my tokens preventing withdrawal, and on the top of that while looking for a solution my account has been scammed and lost most of its value, approx 1000 USD
Would love to rally against CB owners and get my money back.

So, please have a look on this site to see if they may help us: https://www.consumersinternational.org/members/members/the-danish-consumer-council-forbrugerraadet-taenk/

I deposited some COLX coins on 2nd October, and when I loged into my CB account i found
that coins not credited to my account and read announcement about KYC.

Finaly, I send my documents and pass KYC before few days and opened support ticket, but stuff
not responding anymore. So my 350,000 COLX are lost forever  >:(

You can try to use any other bitshares alternative exchange (with your same login)
or you can check on bitshares explorer if your COLX coins are showing there.

I can help you to withdraw your coins from Crypto-brige exchange even now, when it's closed, and without KYC. PM me.

Why do you advertise all over bitcointalk forum and charge people for something they can do for free?
CryptoBrdige is NOT the only exchange in Bithshares network, and you are not a magician

If you need help I can help you just pm me. Any escrow allowed, do not worry. People do not want to learn how to do it, they better pay some small fee to get ready solution. Remember that, all serious business do it.

Sorry but I don't trust you.
You can be a scammer and a fraud.
and I also explained to people how they can do it for free several times.

You do not need to trust me, if you need some help you need to trust any valued ESCROW service, there are a lot them on this forum. People do not need to do anything, they are too lazy for it. Need more simple solutions, like my one.

Hi guys, how do I get my stolen THC out of Crypto Bridge? There are more of us THC holders who fell victim to the CB exitscam. I first contacted CB on 3-DEC, they posted withdrawals would be possible until 15-DEC, but in fact were not. I made screenshots of the history of my tickets to the support team and extracted my CB private keys. Is it possible to insert the private keys starting with BTS somewhere into the bitshares blockchain to gain access to my Crypto Bridge wallet?  ???

Cryptobridge shut down their servers, and the domain is not working anymore.

I am well aware of that. I am asking if it is possible to insert the private keys starting with BTS somewhere into the bitshares blockchain to gain access to my Crypto Bridge wallet funds...since  Crypto Bridge is running on bitshares. Also I am going to report them to Interpol, since this is an european exchange.

I've heard of others doing this, but wouldn't know where to begin with the process. Good luck!

Thanks for reporting it. We'll see if anything ever comes out of it.

I never heard back from their support. I would have to assume it's gone if you can't withdraw using another bitshares based exchange.

You can see my screenshot i toke a while ago, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5207458.msg53324790#msg53324790

On they terms and conditions says that the unclaimed coins will be sold for BTC.

Can anyone confirm if they can still sell their coins using bitshares?

I'll bump this once more just to see if anyone has any new info. My assumption is that my money is gone and I'll never hear from these scammers.
