I have recently been quite curious about the many debates about which currency is better.
  Many people say that they will choose Crypto because it is convenient and creates a common currency, bringing equality to all countries.
And some people choose Fiat money because they've been used to using it for decades and now they have credit cards and wallet payment apps online, so why do you need crypto?
Which side do you think is right? I want to hear from you sincerely.

I am not taking sides here. I love crypto and I need fiat.
I jet paid in fiat and has to get my things done in fiat. Crypto for me is mostly an investment. I aspect the price of the crypto I hold would increase in price and I'll have a profit selling it. I don't expect the same from fiat.

We are not in the world yet where everything will be digital and even with that, it will always be fiat on the front.
Let us be honest here. You could still places where they dont even know what a smartphone is and yet we want to upgrade everything into crypto currency.
It will be a mess up country if done. Not every country is like Japan.
Some of them still needs paper money on everyday life.

I would lean toward cryptocurrency because there are a lot of benefits to it. It’s kind of like comparing email to snail mail. The only problem for cryptocurrency right now is it’s still in the development stages so we don’t know how everything is going to work yet.

I am earning money from Crypto and in my daily life using fiat because only fiat is allowed to transact in my country (the whole global is also more receptive to fiat than crypto as transaction). it's hard to choose which is the "best", so I'll choose both. both have the same good side depending on the terms of function, where is and usefulness.

Actually we should not talk about it because we both need fiat currency and crypto currency.

Crypto gives us a bigger share of the income we earn today, and not every product we can buy in crypto especially our daily needs thats why we need fiat. We need fiat currency to convert our crypto and buy foods that what we need daily.

The fact that the 7billion people in this world hasn't been connected to the internet already negates the perfectly working digital world. There are still people who has not been experience the internet, even people who has not been with smartphones yet. Cryptocurrency is arguably the thing we need to start the high technological era but there are still reasons we can't push hard through it.
I admire japan so much, they have the best humble and respectful people. The level of technology in japan is on another level, they even have a humanoid female robot called actroid proving that they are prominent in electronics and robotics. I would not be surprise when they fully digitalized their system.

If someone offers me crypto or fiat, I will choose the one that has a more nominal value (in fiat term). If the nominal value is the same, let's say $100 bill vs $100 worth of BTC. Then, my decision depends on my "mood" at that particular moment.

If I have enough cash to spend, I will choose crypto. Conversely, I'd choose cash if I need to buy goods for my daily needs.

You'd be asking the wrong crowd if you do this in a non crypto related forumboard but its the same thing here you'd be getting a lopsided poll. The bitcoin community will prefer to chose cryptocurrency of course, why would we be staying in this forum if we won't prefer it. But then fiat is what is needed to have value for these crypto coins including BTC.

Right now? Fiat. Crypto is still way too young. Its at its infancy stage right now, and well, fighting it against Fiat, even though it has accumulated a lot of debt so far, still guarantees its defeat. We still have time though, we just have to wait. Wait until crpyto has developed so far that fiat has no choice but to accept, accept that crypto has now replaced its place in the globe. But as of now, Fiat. Crypto is being used right now constantly on the market to let it grow, to let the masses know what they are, which massively contributes to their ability to be integrated to our lives.

In a growing world each and everything ia a must. Why I say this, some features that aren't available with cryptocurrency can be seen with fiat ans vice versa. When we consider the real-time usage, fiat is accessible and accepted all around while cryptocurrency usage is slowly hitting the market and gaining acceptance. For real time usage I choose fiat and for investing my choice is cryptocurrency.

These need a wide broad of discussion as everyone will surely have a different view. Both have advantages and disadvantages, both are different, there lots of things that need to look into for this comparison - so for me, the comparison is not making sense or necessary to discuss.

Since you already hear some of the sides, what do you need to learn more? Try to recap those conversations and debates you encounter before then from there, decide and make your own view.

If my opinion of fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies is all very important in everyday life.
Both are very we need so it is very difficult to choose one of them.
But if to choose one I think surely members in this forum will choose a cryptocurrency.
Because it is certainly members in this forum can already compare the advantages of each of these currencies.
Especially for investments.

It's actually quite an interesting crowd to ask, because it would expose people preferring crypto over fiat for day to day payments as liars. They just want to be accepted by others with a similar thinking while they in reality barely spend their coins at all.

In the end, I think it's good that people aren't spending their coins because that means that payment processors don't have to dump their coins on the market. They need a constant flow of fiat to pay out the merchants accepting Bitcoin, so they are forced to sell eventually, but before that, they tend to short Bitcoin to hedge against potential price decreases.

I personally prefer fiat too in most cases, but for quick online payments Bitcoin works well.

if what you mentioned has shifted traditional usage, then it doesn't take long to integrate it with crypto, because the principle of its use is easier and applies globally. The world will always change from every adaptation and adoption indirectly and here cryptocurrency will enter the era. I still use fiat, but for investment needs it is already inclined to cryptocurrency.

i think you hit the nail on spot here!  ;D i still prefer to use fiat in my day to day living. as much as possible i want to reserve my crypto holdings.
same here, i use bitcoin for online payments if i see theres advantage of doing so but for daily expenses, nope! not yet. so i think right now, we are still not in the luxury of choosing which one is which. unless you have a lot of crypto holdings that it doesnt matter whether you spend it on your daily needs or not. but i doubt it is the case here!

I will not be choosing these two since I am using these for a long time now. We can't solely depend on crypto currencies since there are still a lot of people that do not want to use it or don't know what it is. You can trade crypto currencies and to get out your profit, you convert it to fiat and use it.

cryptocurrency and fiat currencies have a special bond, for now users of crypto currencies must also be required to make it fiat out of necessity,

If Bitcoin is legalized everywhere, I will definitely go with it.

The thing here is that Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies and fiat are like a combo for now.

Trading, investing, they do not stay on the boat of just one, we put ourselves on these both boats in order to get a good profit in the near future. If we will just be focussing on one, we will not be able to use that profit since we all know not all of the countries will be accepting cryptos. Some leaders hate it, some like the idea of it and want to use it in a longer period of time. For me, I can't use Bitcoin every day, I also need to rely on Bitcoin's exchange on fiat since not all of the stores would even accept it, I will not choose but use these two.

While there's no implemented regulation on which currencies will be widely used on digital transactions, I will still prefer using cryptocurrency on that particular matters. However, fiat cannot be removed from our system because this was traditionally used as mode of payment by many people. We can't easily take that our from our current economy. Generally crypto and fiat these days, is still worth on both reasons.

I need both. Can we do with only one of the two? For now, this is hardly possible. We are only given a very limited number of businesses where we can use our crypto as payment. Perhaps the time will come when crypto will suffice. But not yet for now.

Crypto particularly btc is not different to fiat, both are currencies and has their own convenience to people who are using it. Its just that fiat is been here for long period already and recognized as the main currency regardless of your status in life. On the other side to be able to use crypto you need to have an internet to make a transaction and not all people are aware of its existence. Using crypto is convenient because of the opportunity to earn due to the price fluctuation and anonymity.

Crypto currency is convenient but there isn't anything much use of it in the real world such as access to good and services in my country only plenty of people has knowledge of it besides investment and buying game credits is only thing available to buy with cryptos currently. Right now both fiat and crypto is what i chose cause both has certain benefits.

Both have advantages and disadvantages at this moment. Both have pros and cons. They both have their edges over the other as well. This is the transition phase. It is understandable when the one payment is not yet totally dominating or overcoming the other because they have their own unique use cases.

at the moment I have used all three together. I use cryptocurrency to invest and seek profits. I have not been able to use crypto as a means of payment because crypto in my country is still legally only permitted as a trade and investment community. I will exchange the profits from crypto with fiat money. For daily transactions such as buying vegetables and other needs, I use fiat money. and I also use a credit card or payment application to pay utility bills, buy clothes at online stores and order food because usually when using the application there are some attractive promos. I did not choose because everything has advantages and disadvantages. the important thing is I can use these three types of money well.

for now, I need both of them to be difficult if using crypto fully and also fiat currency has also weakened so the presence of digital currencies is also very much needed. So I chose both, despite everything, You also still need both in my opinion.

Depends on the purpose. For being used as a currency, I guess fiat is better. Because since cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin are protected against inflation, they will be used more for the purpose of investment rather than as a payment method. But the idea of having a single global currency is an interesting one. Perhaps we could create an inflationary cryptocurrency similar to fiat?

Crypto keeps your money away from the govt and banks until you need fiat, so i choose crypto until i need fiat, the only reason people are not 100% crypto yet is the price fluctuation, its up now and the down later the fear of the uncertainty is still there always but if that was not a factor everyone will say crypto because almost all the stores will be open for business with it. I choose crypto until i need fiat.

We need both, for the meantime fiat is the most effective way to pay and purchase. Fiat is still the most convinient and we can't live without, although crypto is more efficient but because of minimal adoption or because it is still in experimental state its hard to circulate the way it should be due to different factors.

I don't think like that as I love my privacy online and many a times it's better for us to hide our identity while surfing online. So it is the main reason why I choose to use crypto instead of fiat or using banks online and also many a times offline on the street. Also crypto protects us from censorship and also from price inflation that is quiet high in many countries like Zimbabwe.

It's true that some governments are against with cryptocurrency and that is the reason why up until now we are using fiat, they both have advantages but we all know that using cryptocurrency is less hassle that's why most of us prefer on using it than fiat. On the other hand, some people from rural areas are does not even know that a digital currency existed. It will be difficult for them to understand on how it works because they grew up using fiat as a currency and without using technology, well unless there is someone who's willing to enlighten them about it. It isn't bad using both because they are both beneficial to us, also it's a matter of preferences.

To avoid the crypto in says banks and general payment proces providers are taking their payment security to next level and streaming it everything in online. Once they achieve the complete target of how to press being used then they will get the the real problems in the fee structure.
Finally those uses will be join to the repair mode of payment and or they will initialise cryptocurrency API on their site or app.

On the current context, you can't avoid anyone between these two, Both Fiat and Cryptocurrency essential to me in these days, but obviously, Fiat is more required to me in my daily life, but if my country would accept Bitcoin and cryptocurrency then the situation would be different for me, I like Cryptocurrency but the reality is that I need Fiat, I have a dream when every payment will be made by the cryptocurrency but the process is not still established yet, on this regards, Cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin should be legalized in every country, If not then this cryptocurrency will not sustain for a long time successfully.

For everyday payments, I would certainly choose fiat currencies, because cryptocurrencies have an unstable price. Cryptocurrencies in fact, investment instruments. And free funds can be invested in digital assets and other stocks. So I would choose both — fiat money and cryptocurrencies.

Both side has their opinion to express so there's no side that is wrong unless it's harming the other side. I'm for both sides, I'm a crypto enthusiast and visioning that it will go far to the point that people will regret that they never get in while it's early.

And for the fiat side, it's a gov't backed up so you have to understand that you can't stop it easily.

If I had to choose which is better between fiat and cryptocurrency, I would choose cyptocurrency. I would not hesitate to

I don't have a problem with fiat. IMHO, I don't think crypto can compete with fiat on any level as money. It's not stable, not a unit of account, poorly accepted throughout the world, and the list goes on.

Crypto is great for speculation, censorship resistance and cross-border value transfers. Great features, but does the average person need all these features? I don't think so. Speculation is what 90% of the people are here for.

The problem with fiat appears when we have to pay high fees while transferring it via a third party which is also a risk that we rely on a third party for our transactions. Even fiat is not stable but the volatility in cryptocurrencies is high because of small community which is increasing day by day. Anyone when hear about the features of bitcoin happily accept bitcoin and use it, and so on. . .

Crypto is really happily accepted for speculation but many traders also do the same with other currencies (fiat). You can observe an average person have cryptocurrencies who have invested their money in it or accepting and using it for their daily needs in their own countries while you can see that USD is considered as a global/international currency but an average person do not use it in their country or do not hold USD for future.

That is all which make cryptocurrencies better than fiat.

I would have one chance to choose then I would choose cryptocurrency over fiat any day. Cryptocurrencies has a lot of potential and opportunities for its users and that is why I would settle for cryptocurrency. Even though its value is not fixed, it is an advantage for me because I can play with the volatility to create more money for me.

If the time comes that I will be able to use crypto anywhere like buying goods on the street, riding on public vehicles paying crypto like how we can use fiat right now, definitely I will choose cryptocurrency, fiat will be a total obsolete in the near future we need more secure and transparent form of money and I can see it on digital coins because of its blockchain technology that never lies , there are so many advantages if we use crypto instead of fiat.

Since you claim that you are a big time trader how much you have made till now and i guess you are in this market for a long time, i am not an expert trader and option trading does not suite me as it is too volatile for me to predict. If i am choosing an option i would choose fiat any day as i can use in my daily activities and if i want to purchase crypto i can always invest my fiat to crypto :P.

What world you are living in to feel that fiat will be a total obsolete, yeah may be in third world countries where corrupt government are ruling over you but not in developed countries :P.

Now comparing an easily manipulated FIAT vs bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, i prefer to use the last!

As much as possible I tried to accumulate more bitcoin's than to spend so in the near future when adoption and expansion happens I will have a lot of BTC stored that will not cost me too much as the price might be too expensive to buy. We all know that soon many will use blockchain. It may not totally in BTC form might be as a government tokenized type but soon it can be associated in it.

I don't think cryptos and fiat should be a topic in a debate cause they have different advantages and disadvantages. Why do you have to choose from these two currencies if you can use both? I would like to use both. Fiat for daily transactions especially in my country (Philippines) where small stores do not accept and use cryptos. Cryptos, on the other hand, are good storage of value and a good currency that can be used in all countries. Also transactions are easily done, hustlefree and it is very convinient.

We are at bitcointalk, of course most people would prefer crypto over fiat but right now we don't, we invest into crypto for now because we believe that crypto is better but there is really not that many places that we can use crypto plus it is not always easy to transfer crypto from one address to another that easily, there is of course sending payment methods but it takes time and it actually costs a lot compared to fiat for some reason.

Think about it, when you purchase something with cash banknotes you don't spend anything extra, when you spend debit card you don't spend anything extra, it is only when you wire money and spend credit cards that you give a bit extra. Bitcoin is a viable option if you are sending money to whole another nation and that's it.

Where I live cryptocurrencies is not considered a currency, people would violate the law if they used cryptocurrency to pay for an item. Besides, most of the shops around me only accept fiat currency, so fiat currency is very important in my life.
Cryptocurrencies are a place where I invest to make profits, I love cryptocurrencies and I believe that in the future, cryptocurrencies will become popular. Now that I am trying to hoard as much Bitcoin as possible, I believe that by 2020 bitcoin will have a significant price increase.

Most people ??? I guess that's because you asked your question on Bitcointalk and this is a crypto community, so why won't a lot of people choose crypto? If you should take your survey to the outside world you're probably going to get a lot of Yes for fiat, and 99% No on crypto lol.

Both of them are good, I like making use of fiat and crypto as well. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, and I don't think will be able to take the place of fiat, some people just don't know what they are saying. The good thing with cryptocurrency is that we can send money quickly and at a cheaper rate to any location in the world, but there are a lot of other options we can still use apart from crypto.

Crypto was the future and we know it is now future as well same thing even 5-8 years back was the case and see today where the btc and other coins have reached. This has come a long way and those who had believed in it have really made a good amount of money for themselves.

because crypto has a fluctuation price. so when you save crypto in the wallet and the cryptocurrency increase high price, you can get more money in your wallet. it different while you save your fiat money in wallet apps online or credits card because fiat money can't moving up price... although it also has risk, as a user of both that crypto and fiat money, i prefer to cryptocurrency

FIAT and cryptocurrencies have the same economic value, but if selected I would prefer FIAT money.
Reason: FIAT money is easier to exchange and accepts even the smallest denominations. They are very convenient, you will not have to pay any cost if paying daily.
Cryptocurrencies will be more restrictive for exchanges and payments, and we will have to pay a certain fee to send them.
Also fiat money changes less in value than cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies may drop dramatically. If in a short period of time, the two types of assets have equal value but in the long run will be different if you own the same amount of money.
If you transfer a large amount of money, then cryptocurrencies will be more efficient with better fees and safer than fiat money.

Not because it is safe to say, but because I prefer both currency. Fiat is important and crypto is also becoming essential as time goes by. We've been using fiat ever since while crypto is the innovation. Can't we just appreciate how this two can function together? Just like now, I'm contented with what I am using. Both fiat and crypto. It's much easier to have two options depending on the cases than only having one.
I won't elaborate why one is important since both are important. They have value. Convenience is what matters. In different scenarios think which among the two is better to use. That's why having two currency is better than choosing between them.

If I were to choose between crypto and fiat, I would choose crypto more probably. I would consider the features, advantages and benefits I may get as I use a certain currenct wherein in crypto, we are all aware that it is good for investment and its volatility is very different from fiat's. Although fiat is being used for a long time already, the fact that it is under the manipulation of the government makes it more unlikely to be chosen. Most of them are just abusing their power which makes us look like their slaves.

I think this matter isn't about the convenience of the users. The matter is regarding the structure of the economy. Money is the most important thing on which world works. Cryptocurrencies are based on self balancing technique and market is obliged to automatically correct itself using forces of demand and supply but this is too much of an capitalist approach and people with lots of Cryptocurrencies can easily manipulate it. On the other hand same isn't possible that easily due to government intervention which is why I think fiat will be safer route however instead of cash we might see Cryptocurrencies backed by government themselves but there is still a long way to go to see all this.

If it would have been something that would require Fiat and the dealer won't be able to accept the cryptocurrencies even if they want to then I would ofcourse prefer the Fiat , but when it comes to investment strategies plus overseas business and transfers then bitcoins all the way .. no doubt .
Fiat is good with stability and security but bitcoins is good for investments and job opportunities.

Yes online banking is really a very strong thing.But the Bank works only with Fiat money, while the cryptocurrency performs a diverse role and accordingly gives an advantage to end users.Personally, I currently use both currencies.I don't see any problems.

You can't really choose a side if you can have both. In this world or at least towards the crypto friendly countries you have the privilege to hold fiat currencies as well as crypto. If you think that fiat currencies is a better mode of payment in transactions as compared to crypto then use fiat. Today I do admit as of the present that fiat currencies and their online counterparts are more better in terms of payment transactions but in terms of investment crypto stands out on growing your capital compared to fiat so a lot of crypto users here are also traders/hodlers of cryptocurrencies. In my opinion if you have the option of having both in your country then take advantage of it and not just choose only one because you are just missing an opportunity if you left out crypto because of fiat being a better option as a payment.

You're talking about the exact opposite.Crypto-currencies are an absolutely new kind of value. It is impossible to say that it is better to have a fiat or crypto because they are in different planes.Worse crypto or better, but the most important thing is that without crypto it is simply not possible to do just as well as without the fiat money.         

If I could use crypto for all my purchases I'd do it for the following reasons:
-I would like to show my defiance to the banks and governments and not accept their inflated and manipulated fiat money
-I'd feel better knowing none of my payments can be stopped by the banks or governments
-I'd be able to pay at any time instantly
-I'd be able to stay fairly anonymous

Even if Crypto would cost me more I'd choose it to feel safe and independent.

If I had to choose, I would choose the Fiat currency, because the Fiat currency currently dominates the world. Cryptocurrencies are currently not considered a currency that most people consider a form of profitable investment. You will find it very difficult to find a place where cryptocurrencies are considered as a currency, even in many countries you will violate the law if using cryptocurrencies in payment.
Perhaps my best answer is that I will hold the Fiat currency and then split a portion to invest in cryptocurrencies.

There is no logic in what you are saying. I would also prefer payments with cryptocurrency, provided that no additional costs are involved. On the other hand, if the stuff is prized differently, then I would go for the lower prized option. For example, consider this example. For paying your utility bill, you have two options. Either pay $100 in fiat, or $110 in crypto. Which one you would chose? I would go for the first option, and for the difference ($10), I would purchase more cryptocurrency and add to my portfolio.

I can see logic in his argument. If that $10 is a big deal for you, then you will not be choosing that option and pay with fiat instead. But if you are rich and $10 is nothing for you and you really want to make a statement of support for the adoption of crypto and the resistance of the banking system, you would pay with crypto even if that is a little more expensive. That is also the same path I would take if I have all the means to do it. I would never use fiat once again if that is possible.

I have cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ethereum but I keep trading it to become fiat currencies because of its uses. There are only few merchants that are accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment that's why I keep using fiat currencies to pay my bills and also the goods and services that I buying. The fiat currency have a great role in our society and it is the reason why it will never be destroyed and surpassed by cryptocurrencies.

Maybe as of now that is the situation but I think in the future where everything will be in digital then I think that the fiat currencies will get removed in our system. Governments will for sure create a cryptocurrency that is better than fiat which is what we are going to use in the future. We will be dealing with cryptocurrencies in our daily life because of the convenience.

As I read those other opinion, they choose fiat over crypto. I'm not satisfied on their statement because I don't understand why they chose fiat. Maybe they aren't knowledgeable enough to handle bitcoin or maybe they don't experience how to use and manage bitcoin.

For me, bitcoin has a lot of advantage that fiat even if it is being used decades ago. Bitcoin is more secured, has fast transactions, and has a lot of promotion so many also uses in their transactions. It can also help you to your investments.

It depends on the time you're asking. As of now, I would 'need' both. Fiat is still the mainstream medium of exchange with daily transactions. You need it to buy what you need/want. Cryptocurrencies as of now, are best in sending money from long distances and higher amounts. Adoption is still not that great for it to replace current traditional monetary systems.

Yeah we should look at the market value of bitcoin and other coins I think now the day best coin to invest your money is bitcoin it has a really low price. Using fiat for our daily life is good but for holding it is not good to choose money for long term holding. Bitcoin gets high in price and it gives million of income to investors but holding money is useless.

If Crypto and Fiat are available wherever, then I will loved to use it whenever. As of now I couldn't decide which I prefer because crypto isn't much more usable and fiat is still needed and still I use and my family so if ever it is available where I go then it's happy to use crypto and buy some stuff. if ever people are deciding to use crypto as our primary transaction then it is time to improve more and use it as efficient way of any transactions. 

Both currencies are essential for me. No need to choose, Cryptocurrency is for long term holding just like any investment hold it and sell it if the price goes up. For the fiat, it is needed to do micro-transactions just like spending it and buying goods in small shops. If we choose one of them and destroy the other one, it will bring us an unfortunate consequence, so for me, both are important and need to be kept. Cryptocurrency for investment and fiat for daily needs.

I will not choose fiat money, because I'm against the modern economic system, which is robbing us all. Moreover, such an economy leads to crises that can be avoided.

Before my government only allow fiat to all transaction in my country, honestly i will choose crypto. Because some need, especially in digital way i can pay with crypto and there are a lot of services in my country that accept bitcoin as payment. At that time, although my age is enough, but i don't have bank account so i use bitcoin or crypto related site to buy something digital and pay some bills.

Exactly, I don't need to choose too as we need both of them now, for now we can't live without the fiat as not every business accepting it and we cannot use it to pay our rent, to pay fare etc, still we need more years to be able to adopt this by most people, maybe it would take 2 or more decades before it will finally happen, as people thinks that crypto were scam so it won't be easy to convince them yet.

That time will definitely come when all sorts of daily purchases and money deals will become possible with crypto currencies too because the ultimate purpose or reason behind creation of bitcoin was to become the first digital medium of exchange. Bitcoin is already being used in purchases. Now it is just a matter of time before all crypto coins will be used this way. Fiat is destined to be replaced by digital coins.

Well as of now i will be needing both cryptocurrency and fiat, why? Because the crypto that i get from working online cannot be spent on a lot of establishments in my country so i will convert it to fiat then spent it to buy some stuff but i think we will all be needing both crypto and fiat currencies because it'll be hard to get rid one of those two things specially fiat because it's been here for a very long time.

Currently, it's being used for a different purpose. I use fiat for daily transaction, crypto for digital, cross country transaction and mostly as an asset. There's no need to pick just one side. Why should you choose only one? There's no way people only using crypto while there's no clear regulation yet. One thing I don't understand is how can cryptocurrency bring equality in countries? are you expecting someone to distribute free cryptocurrencies in these third tier countries? I have been a crypto enthusiasts for the past years two years and i would definitely choose cryptocurrencies over fiat because of how convenient is it to use. Making transactions in crypto is faster, secured and very simple as compared to fiat currencies. I chose both fiat and crypto..  I chose fiat because I needed it to pay for my various daily needs,  for example buying drinks,  paying taxi drivers,  etc.. and I chose crypto because I needed it as a short-term investment and as my payment on the internet. I really cant choose between them, fiat is the one I use in everything because it is more convinient to use and also it is the currency here in my country, cryptocurrency is for investment, though I can use that in some things but many things I can use in terms of payment, I think I will choose fiat now, but it all depends on the situations.

Crypto is still seen widely as an asset of investment. I am keeping crypto for long term investment but fiat is my first choice for daily living.

I still don't have a choice here. When I'm online I use cryptocurrencies, for gambling, shopping, and all other stuff. In real life, I need to use fiat. There are no cryptocurrencies shops in my city, or anywhere close. If I could choose to use only one that would be cryptocurrencies, with cryptocurrencies many things would be easier, we would do many things from our home. Cryptocurrencies are indeed just an investment or a way to create more fiat currencies but it can be also used as a payment gateway because there are cryptocurrencies that only takes a few minutes to be received and that is what cryptocurrencies solve that the fiat currencies cannot.

In my owm personal opinion, even we have been using fiat for decades in exchange for goods, i would rather choose cryptocurrency than fiat because cryptocurrency is decentralized that no one can control it even the government, that is why they could not add tax from every of our transactions. Cryptocurrency is also more secured and ease of use that makes it good for me in making fast transactions.

They both have there own benefits. Crypto is still very new and mostly be used by people across the world for investment only, it has very few practical uses at the moment. You need Fiat to live your life and you cant live without fiat. If anyone has to choose one between the two, it will be fiat.

I use crypto to make a good income from trading and investing. The rest I will exchange it to fiat for me to use it as an official payment at my place of residence, because at my place crypto still cannot be used officially by the government. So my options, I chose both and needed both.

Fiat is still highly used for transactions because people are not fully aware of crypto currencies. Those who are aware of these currencies are doing transactions’ with them and are gradually reducing the use of fiat for transaction purposes. If cryptos have power of being used as currency and investment then I guess common people will more likely prefer it over fiat. The only issue is unawareness.

Yes both of them are good and both have different abilities to give us all the needs of life. We can use crypto to buy things online as it saves our time and gives us reliable shopping opportunities but with fiat, we can buy things by hand, as our life is so busy so we should use the only crypto to have needs for daily life even without disturbing our job.

Cryptocurrency is really good, the transaction is fast and unlike fiat you're not going to pay heavy fees for sending money abroad. If you compare Western Union, PayPal and all of them to Bitcoin, there is a huge difference between the fees. I pay way less for fees when I'm sending with Bitcoin, though one thing I noticed about Bitcoin is that as the price goes up the fees increase as well. But there are other cryptocurrencies you can use that are better than BTC when it comes transaction, and they charge less and are faster.

I don't get your point.  Still, we have very few options to buy things online with crypto and they are less reliable too but we have a lot of options to buy online using fiat from a reliable source like amazon, eBay, etc. Owning cryptocurrency means you are free to use it as your will but you need banks permission to use the fiat. It means when you are holding fiat in bank account you are not independent of your choice. 

Well, there are no wrong particular answer to that. Your question must be answered subjectively, so it would depend upon the individual on which side they feel more convenient. As a crypto enthusiast our answer is rather biased. Of course, we would choose crypto over fiat however, there are some stuff that crypto can't function while fiats can, well, and fiats too. They are both limited on their fields.

Crypto is the latest technology and it is highly appreciated by users because they are acting as savings and investment and currency at the same time. This is the reason why people are highly interested in them and are not using fiat. Fiat needs to be carried safely and no matter how much you hold it; you cannot see any increase in its values. Frankly speaking, I would use cryptocurrency for anything and everything but the world is not supportive, if people start accepting crypto for products then why would anyone will use fiat.?

Honestly I want both, both have market and community, people cannot just leave fiat, there are people and places that fiat is commonly used and there are people who will hard time transacting with Bitcoin, how about the third world countries where internet connection and electricity are scarce.

So far that is the only problem with cryptocurrencies, if I could use my bitcoin to buy everything that I want and that I need then I will never use a fiat currency again but since that day seems to be so far away, especially in my country which does not have a single store that accepts cryptocurrencies near me, then I have no option but to keep using fiat as it is by far the easiest alternative I can use between the two.

I'll go with fiat money, fiat money have a great role and function in our economy. Us people especially cryptocurrency enthusiasts will definitely choose crypto because we saw its benefits and we have gained financially from it. Very well said but in my own opinion I think bitcoin cannot fully replace the fiat all though it will serve a huge help for the government to enhance their economical status because fiat is the pioneer mode of payment and we are using it from the late 1900 until now and it is very difficult to change from what we have used to.

Fiat is stable so it is entirely different from crypto, crypto was used as virtual investment asset and now it is more popular as regular currency as there are more adoption to it and e-voucher are there which ease the use of crypto. I think both is used in respective situation as fiat is general and crypto is famous amongst holder , i also use crypto for voucher rather than buying stuff with fiat.

I prefer to have both when there is a possibility to have both, there is an option not to use any because I am comfortable using both, there are instances that fiat is a must use and I invested in Cryptocurrency because this is a technology that will soon be integrated into every company and countries, and of course there is a profit to be made here.

Not sure if this question has been adequately answered. But here's my 2 cents:

I remember when I first heard about BTC and I thought it would be the next revolution of money - the kind of thing to replace fiat. But more than 10 years of its invention, it is yet to do without the fiat system. Now I do not imply that Bitcoin isn't a big deal, but I've come to the understanding that the one cannot do without the other (at least for those who have embraced the concept of decentralized money).

In short, it's not on whose side you're on that matters but what side on when you decide for relative utility (which is either as an investment vehicle or a currency). Imho, crypto in general still falls short of being the latter, so I'll use Bitcoin for now as an investment vehicle and stick to fiat for real-world stuff.

For me even I am currently working here at crypto world, I prefer to use fiat in my daily financial needs and my virtual coins here serves as my online bank and ATM because whenever I need money I trade my coins into fiat because here in my country cryptocurrency cannot be use as a mode of payment here thats why I have to convert my coins first into fiat before I can use it to buy or to pay bills and also as what you have said fiats has a lot of advantages that the crypto cannot be done.

I think it's quite naive to make them compete one against another because both have their flaws and cons as well. Fiat is so much adopted that we really can't just replace it given that many people are still uneducated on the uses and applications of crypto, lack gadgets and tools to store or buy crypto and much of world lies under poverty line.

Well, I think both are great currency. They just have the unique characteristics and their own roles in people and economy I also choose both because I think both of them are important to me. It depends what you re trying to accomplish. Fiat still has its very good use cases in peer2peer transfer(meaning hands to hands). But overall I'm a much bigger fan of crypto, although the technology is definitely not yet ready for global mass adoption, unless lightning really kicks in the same way as segwit did.

What is the reason that Fiat may disappear in the future? To me, there's no reason for Fiat to disappear because it's cash and it existed long before cryptocurrency appeared. If Fiat disappears, I think the world economy will collapse. And cryptocurrency will never replace Fiat, it's not easy to change the habit of using Fiat in people's daily lives.

It is really impossible for fiat currency to disappear because it is supported by the government and it is was existed a long time ago before cryptocurrency was invented, that is why there is a low chance for fiat to be replaced by crypto. But there is a chance for crypto to be accepted by every countries all over the world because it already proves that it is secured and convenient to make fast transactions.

Imho, FIAT may not disappear, but it will change the method used in the future. Instead of using paper money, many countries have adopted digital applications or VISA, Mastercard, to replace the shortcomings of paper money. I firmly believe that in the next 20 years, people will hardly have to use paper money to pay and trade except in exceptional cases, everything is possible through a government-run Blockchain system or digital currency system. China is one of the first countries doing that now.

This is very broad in a sense that, people have different perspective with regard to the benefits they could get from cryptocurrency compared to the online payments and apps provided by the fiat's banks. But if it would be subjective, my response is because cryptocurrency opens up a new emerging way of financial living, it has capabilities that fiats could not deliver and cryptocurrency will be the most efficient, fast, and the most secured payment option we could have and might lead to a unified world.

The good thing is that we do not need bitcoin to replace fiat, I have always thought that if at some point fiat disappears it is going to be not because bitcoin was able to destroy it, it will happen because people are going to lose the trust they had on the governments to create the currency and they will stop accepting it.

   I choose crypto-currencies! A year ago I chose to save my extra money from salary in crypto-currencies, mainly in Bitcoin
and Ethereum, but I have from some other alt-coins and tokens too.
   It's a choice, I believe that crypto-currencies are the future. Fiat money, traditional money, as we know it will be obsolete,
even now cash is for museums not for real using, I don't remember when did I use cash last time, for something little probably.

For me it is best to use fiat currency in terms of purchasing especially in small shops. Because crypto currency is only limited by the products we can buy and we cannot afford to live with crypto so eventually we are still converting our crypto currency to fiat money to buy our daily needs.

Fiat money can't be my money because it's not my property and for example let's talk about USD which is major currency in global economics. and that's Fed. You know it's a very non-transparent institution, they control money as they wish, they print as much as they wish, they modify USD's purchasing power as they wish. They create debt, a loan that we have to pay. Why do I have to pay a loan that's not mine? Is it right and fair what they do?
To sum up, we have no control and no right on USD = it's not our.

People have different opinions on that point indeed. The main thing here is where you live. Some countries are closed to crypto and the opinion of people from there is absolutely clear - they say yes to fiat. I do not have any problem with that scenario and I'm sure that many of those that are enthusiastic about cryptocurrencies have the very same opinion but governments do not think like that, they used to have a monopoly when it came to printing currencies and now they are realizing that finally after a long time they have competition and not only that they are realizing they have no way to compete with cryptocurrencies.

I choose both. for me, Fiat and Cryptocurrency are just as important. I still need fiat money because my country's government regulations forbid using cryptocurrency as a means of payment. The cryptocurrency in my country can only be used as a digital asset commodity that can only be traded on an exchange.

I don't think that either is better than the other. I think each has its purpose and place. I do not agree that they are both necessary inherently, you can still live even without cryptocurrency but fiat is a different thing, fiat has a stranglehold in any government, with their roots so deep in the history of any country, I do think that fiat is more on advantage here. In terms of future and the investment types, crypto would be the obvious choice and will continue to remain it. As not everyone is accepting the btc or crypto while accepting the payment, so fiat is still required at this juncture. I am for Both,I am using fiat because that is the majority of payment option in my country,but i also use wanted Crypto currency for long term holding as i have some extra money each month so instead of spending in nonsense i invested them all in crypto.

I would go with both, because it is better to share the risk of losing value. Currently, I would divide all my saving into 2/3 Fiat and 1/3 cryptocurrency. Simply because fiat is used more widely. If I had the chance I would pick crypto all the way, that is the reason why I am here, I do not like fiat at all since it is controlled by the government and governments have agendas that do not consider me at all. I will choose fiat if I will going to buy something in convenient store in our town, if I will pay the tricycle driver, if i will pay my bill in the fast food, or in short I will choose fiat in my way of living because fiat is main mode of exchange in everything around me.
But I will going to invest, I will choose cryptocurrency even though it is risky. Yes there is a bigger chance of losing in crypto but the is also a bigger chance of gaining good profit in crypto than in fiat.

Many people think it's impossible to rely on crypto and they scared of it. But, don't forget usually people panic when they see something new in their life. Like many other technology. I believe, after tokenizing many other stuff like USD, Gold, Silver, etc... we won't need the fiat soon and it will disappear by the time. That's why I chose cryptocurrency.
