Title: Inappropriate negative trusts and feedback. Please avoid.
Post by: hd49728 on December 10, 2019, 02:20:18 AM
I see this negative rating that is inappropriate in my opinion. See it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2694164
Quote
Do not post in French section if you can not speak french

The appropriate trust feedback is neutral, in my opinion.

It is terrible to leave negative trust feedback like that, especially leave it on account that runs their good company (so far) in the forum.

There is a good guide from LoyceV: LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191802.0)

That case closed and as the others proposed to move the thread to Reputation, but I am not going to move it. Personally, this issue is fitted with Meta, and might cause more guides on how to use Trust feedback more correctly (in particular, with disagreement in language or language-related problems).

I planned to open the thread one week, then I am going to lock it. Thank you.

That neg feedback is pretty petty IMHO.

But in the end, it's up to Match to personally deal with that fella. A simple apology should do the trick.

I’m learning French and I was planning to try my luck there after developing a good enough vocabulary. Now I’m scared. :'(

I don’t know the details of this particular case, but I also don’t think writing in a language you don’t particularly know equals not being trusted/being trade-risky.

First thing is, that subject should don't moderate by trust system. If they use Google translate of something else then moderators should handle that case. Using trust system is not appropriate. They are a company, not like member that they will spam there. A company could hire translators for them and they could post from their official account. I can't see anything wrong with it even for trust system. The problems is if they use automated translation, but I have seen they just wrote few word and other thing is their apps screenshot. So it's not something like abuse forum or for trust system. I have ask Match365 to contact who left feedback to reconsider that, otherwise likely have to counter.

Imagine if every user who butchered English got red-tagged for it.  ::)

Asche is the only DT1 member who has Tramirostronix in his trust list.  Tramirostronix has left a lot of red tags on a lot of accounts, and not ONE reference link.

Good Morning, or good night, where ever you are.

Looking into it now.

@DireWolfM14 thanks for highlighting me.

PS: This would be better in reputation imo.

Edit:

After investigation, while most of his feedback seem to be totally relevant, you have a point with the missing reference, which is not ok in case of complaint.
User removed.

The reason was probably inappropriate but I can understand why Tramirostronix left a feedback. The user Match365 has been posting in local boards like Philippines (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5198859.0), Spanish (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5205491), German (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5205507), and Portuguese (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5205495). They are probably using an online translator.

They also have other accounts to bump their thread (sam408130 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1895618) Lionne1 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2699010))

AFAIK, posting in local boards and using an automated translation is a moderation issue and there is a penalty for it. I am not fluent in those languages and cannot determine if a translator was used, but such cases should be reported to the moderators for action. If they are advertising in those boards then they should also have those language options in their website.

The attention should be on organic growth and attracting users with the quality of their site and service rather than reaching out to a many people as possible through any means.

This is correct. The feedback is 100% relevant. However I am still unhappy with the fact he is not using any references.

This thread can be closed now I think.

Thank you.

The appropriate response would be to report the posts and let the Mods handle it.

Correct. Although I've broken this rule sometimes ::)

It's only allowed to use translating software to post on the English boards (for instance when someone has a technical problem).

This thread can be closed now I think.
It should also be moved to Reputation.

I have PM Trami about this topic. He will probably reconsider his red trust and put references in the future.

especially leave it on account that runs their good company (so far) in the forum.

I already have Match365 on my radar, if this website is serious, they can do better than a "WOW" and a screenshot (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5205510.msg53272602#msg53272602).

Edit :

I’m learning French and I was planning to try my luck there after developing a good enough vocabulary. Now I’m scared. :'(

The french section has been traumatized for months by bad Google translations, so we are a little sensitive on this subject. But if you come to participate in the french section in a natural way, even if there are some clumsiness, it won't be a problem.

Even the use of an automated translation isn't really a problem when there is a good reason to it, for instance an english speaking user wishing to communicate for a specific reason in a topic.

As long as this isn't getting crazy there is no issue, and is actually accepted around all local boards I use (only french and german if being honest ;) )

Hi everyone, please let me clarify  :

I’m learning French and I was planning to try my luck there after developing a good enough vocabulary. Now I’m scared. :'(

I don’t know the details of this particular case, but I also don’t think writing in a language you don’t particularly know equals not being trusted/being trade-risky.

Do not be scare about, it is not about the good or bad french just the fact that he is using google translator without reading what we said before.
I will never red someone for a bad french, my english is not perfect too.

First thing is, that subject should don't moderate by trust system. If they use Google translate of something else then moderators should handle that case. Using trust system is not appropriate. They are a company, not like member that they will spam there. A company could hire translators for them and they could post from their official account. So it's not something like abuse forum or for trust system. I have ask Match365 to contact who left feedback to reconsider that, otherwise likely have to counter.

The fact is : he was using google translate to avoid our questions on the topic and just before I made a post in french about "banning him because of google translator". Because he is using google translator he wasn"t able to understand and answer.
My text is  here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5205510.msg53278720#msg53278720

No answer from him, I gave him a red.
And if you look at the end of the thread you will see he is still posting with google translate :

Asche is the only DT1 member who has Tramirostronix in his trust list.  Tramirostronix has left a lot of red tags on a lot of accounts, and not ONE reference link.

Most of my red tags are from spreadsheet of Bounty campaigns I managed. You can imagine that when you have a lot of participants and cheaters you will not make a screenshot of every part of the spreadsheet.
For me if someone gave you a red maybe you will try to speak with the guy to see why you get it, unless you think you derseve it.
And as you can imagine, none of them said something.
I'm not a robot, we can discuss about every red it's not a problem for me.

Yes like I said, if the user send me a PM, I can remove my feedback. Now it is just a neutral one.  I will use ref for the next red.
And yes in the past we saw a lot of google translation on the french board because we didn"t have a moderator. Thanks to Halab the french section is now good and it is a pleasure  to see it.

I hope everything is clear for you, if you  have questions feel free.

Edit: sorry for the mistakes in my post, I slept 3 hours will correct them later.
