Title: Crypto trends that happened in 2019
Post by: Novatech8 on December 10, 2019, 11:36:27 AM
The crypto space developed in 2019, moving a piece past the prompt publicity of value activity. While a few patterns and approaches fizzled, different improvements came into the spotlight, offering new kinds of income openings. The following are the crypto trends that appeared in 2019

1. IEO (initial exchange offering)
2. Futures Trading start growing significantly in 2019
3. Crypto based lending with binance becoming the leader in offering lending products based on some altcoins.
4. Custodial storage and staking, Coinbase and Binance are adding more proof-of-stake coins, redistributing the rewards. The latest asset to be added was Tezos.
5. DEFI (decentralized Finance ) crypto lending and staking in one

You can add drop more and i will gladly add up to the list

What is the source of these trends? I am sure it is not Google trends.

Just to add to your trends, this one is actually from Goggle.
African countries have the highest search for Bitcoin.

All these trends were not worth it, lol. The price hasn't increased as much as I expected it to. I'm still hoping that 2020 will be a better year than this year was. There were lots of things that were promised to boost the price just like Bakkt, and a lot of people were mentioning that throughout 2018 and early 2019, and we all expected the Bakkt to cause a price boost and when the exchange launched there was no effect at all, things were still as they are.

What is the source of these trends? I am sure it is not Google trends.

Yes that's right, I have seen the news on Atoz blog. Only two countries from Africa were on the list and that's Nigeria and South Africa, the next country with most search for the BITCOIN term is Austria, followed by Brazil, Switzerland, and Germany, and the next countries on the top are not even Africa.

Governments talking about using crypto?
World leaders talked about crypto in 2017 as well but this year, many has come forward promising to create their own cryptocurrency. Though it may not be as good as we know crypto as but it certainly would attract more people towards the real cryptocurrencies.

I've received an email from Ledger that they will also support Tezos staking. This is a very fresh news that's why others haven't seen it yet.

Ledger Users can now Stake Their XTZ From a Hardware Wallet (https://themerkle.com/ledger-users-can-now-stake-their-xtz-from-a-hardware-wallet/)

Maybe they think of it so ICO many say now as a trend of fraud and take their funds, but I did not conclude that only a few said that and investors really do not believe what with the word ICO anymore.

accident trend It's sad when a lot of intense competition in the investment industry crypto ,the one that boosted the ICO crypto market has become a sea of scammer ,we are on the same ship and it is not a trend but disaster for this industry and especially for the famous altcoin which is the basic benchmark

Yes it would attract same with Libra, though its not really going to be meant as decentralize cryptocurrency, the ingredients of it where it also uses blockchain means triumph for the blockchain technology. Government creating their own digital currency is also one of the trend this year and China was the first we know are developing it and then there's France and Germany.

Creating more and more new stable coins. Don't know why this happens now and nobody tried this before, but the idea looks quite obvious I think :) I wonder how many stable coins will be presented in 2020 :)

Another thing could be the rise of crypto ecosystem. Most of the IOT based projects were a failure but many exchanges built up and ecosystem within themselves or externally making a coin universal for different markets and places. Exchange tokens like BNB are not just limited to the Binance exchange itself but among other exchanges and merchants as well.

The most common trend is that most ICO projects end up disappointing. Of course, there are still successful ICO projects, but that is very rare. In fact, there are many new projects that have appeared, worked as they were, but then there was no significant development so that they did not provide any hope afterwards, and then disappeared with investors running away.
This has an impact on the bounty campaign. You all know that most campaigns end in drama. It requires in-depth analysis and consideration before joining, and that certainly requires a strong mentality to face the reality if after the project does not keep its promise, or the saturated market can not provide the best price.

The most notable trends of crypto in 2019 has been IEO and Game related projects.  if you take statistics of the numerous projects that came up since january 2019 , you will notice that a large percentage is Game related.

don't forget about new exchanges. Throughout 2019 there were many new exchanges released and collecting development funds from investors, but many of them failed. this has become a trend and and this concept is probably the most widely released so far this year.

Hacking, hacking is one of the most popular trends this year and is a concern for many people. Some exchanges, even binance also became victims of hacking this year and certainly many parties have suffered losses. I think not only are positive trends becoming the center of attention, but bad news for crypto is sometimes more popular and can be a trend among the crypto community, even the world.

Just try to add the trend of DEX creation and stable assets trend, this year there was so many new DEX platforms and stable coin backed by stable asset or commodity. It looks like that is missing from your list.
There was a lot of platforms are offering the stable coin backed by gold too.

1. IEO (initial exchange offering)

2019 is not a successful year for IEO
In 2019 many IEOs were released but most of them brought disappointment to investors. One might realize that IEO is different from ICO only in that it is listed on the exchange.
The majority of current IEOs only want to attract capital from investors then leave. Many IEOs have a good deal of agreement with the exchange, first pumping and then dumping. This undermines investor confidence in IEO projects.

They screwed up again, ICO will be a thing of the past, and there's a possibility that it will happen to IEO now, the only exchange worth doing an IEO is Binance but it's not a 100% guaranty either, people will have to dig deep if the project worth investing and they are for a long haul, it's very disappointing that what happen to ICO will also happen to projects that are in IEO.

Investment into a major trend in the year 2019. Because nowadays many investors are flooded money since the start of the market opening 2019. It is potentially to bring the market to keep competing, especially on Cryptocurrency coins that soar at a fairly high price. I saw many developments that did not disappoint this. For trading or gold Digger is still running stable. I hope for Cryptocurrency continue to experience an increase or at least stability.

The only thing that Binance can guarantee is that the IEO they are doing is legit so we are sure that we are investing in a legit project, but you are right, after the IEO we really don't know what will happen as Binance has no control of it anymore and we don't know the aim or goal of the project, so we can't really say it's safe to invest as you might also lose your fund.

I believe it is when something that has been happening so often and becomes a big buzz in the community it becomes a trend, ICO scamming is one of the trend in this community, but one of the biggest trends apart from those on your list is IEO so many projects prefer to do their crowdfunding in IEO, which is a right decision.

Crypto lending is definitely the big trend for 2019. I do not know if you want to call this DEFI as everyone is saying, but crypto lending itself, using smart contracts, very fast growing but everyone is not sick of it yet. My worry is it bursts in 2020 and then again another bear market for ETH and all smart contract platforms.

In investing, the one that provides security is IEO, which is in the best exchanges, but does not guarantee it will be 100% profitable because we have to re-research because IEO provides security from scam projects but does not guarantee the project can be profitable.

I would add coin staking that also hype this year and i'm sure it will be always a good system that involved in cryptocurrency which have many users.
This kind of investment are the evolution of lending programs which most of them are scams, but coin staking isn't. This could be the best investment in crypto after bitcoin because the growth of our assets could be quicker and also we have to choose only good coins to do staking

Coin staking has been like an old hype even in 2016 I think was the real year of staking. I should know! I was spending all my time buying up PoS coins and staking them like no tomorrow. Returns were great in terms of coins but their value kept shrinking and in the end I wasted time and money as no exchanges would list them for enough volume anyway!

i agree on slaman . coin staking was old and not a new trend but its also true that there are now many new projects about staking platform and staking coins though i dont feel a big hype around them by this year  but i feel sad that you lost what you invested slaman  , i thought staking isnt risky at all but i found out to you that staking is still simillar to investing a crypto that thier value can potentialy drop if you wont act fast to cash out what you already gained  .

Exchange is always in a trend, because everyone who is in contact with crypto always visits the exchange every day, be it traders, or investors, so that we can see competition from between exchanges, especially now that so many new exchanges have been born.

so the trend in 2019 is BM willing to sell their good name for money.
they (bounty managers) who promote scam projects must be blamed as well as shit projects. because BM does not want to do a research to the project that will be promoted before opening a bounty thread. think about it, if BMs want to do that, they will definitely be able to minimize the scam project that happened in these 2 years.

Creating more and more new stable coins. Don't know why this happens now and nobody tried this before, but the idea looks quite obvious I think :) I wonder how many stable coins will be presented in 2020 :)
Shouldn't be a big problem because only decentralized stable coins will have better chances of usability in future, people still can't stand the government

I think the biggest drama was Libra all around, and Bakkt. Those two things literally changed the price of bitcoin like crazy, first April or around Libra was announced and facebook said they are planning on making their own stablecoin which made people move to crypto once again and of course prices increased like hell, even ethereum went from 80 dollars to 300 dollars level. Then bakkt happened on September few months ago and the price plummeted because bakkt didn't get the attention people thought it would, now doing much better but still under peoples expectations.

Those two combined made for about 50% of the all changes by themselves, so I would say they are the most important trends and dramas that happened in bitcoin, the major important news of 2019.

Does 99% of ICO's being either a scam or money grab constitute as trend?
some BM are willing to exchange their good name for money, they run an ico project that is proven to be a scam. every BM should conduct research before accepting the project.
so the trend in 2019 is BM willing to sell their good name for money.
they (bounty managers) who promote scam projects must be blamed as well as shit projects. because BM does not want to do a research to the project that will be promoted before opening a bounty thread. think about it, if BMs want to do that, they will definitely be able to minimize the scam project that happened in these 2 years.
I think the bounty manager has done a good job and sought to know the project first, scam or not, although indeed not all bounty managers can be like that, but usually those who make the project a scam are those who created the project who do not want to develop the project further so many projects that failed in the middle of the road like this in 2019 are happening a lot like that.

more familiar than all of that is about market price predictions in 2019, many people expect market prices to rise but there is always bad news that is able to influence market prices, resulting in doubts for new investors who want to jump into this field.

the prediction trend is currently being discussed a lot at this time, and also the development of ICO which is getting worse and worse is also a lot of talk. and all that pretty much enlivened the current trends in the world of bitcoin or crypto

unfortunately the ICO trend became worse throughout 2019 because most of them indicated failing and scamming. other than that, the bitcoin ETF also failed and I think there is nothing special in 2019 and we are waiting for bitcoin halving and etherum 2.0 next year.

many trends that occur in 2019 from good and bad, for fundraising by offering coins, ICO and IEO are very good trends, while for 2019 there is also a lot of bad news that occurs that makes cryptocurrency prices difficult to rise again.

Too many FUDs happens and many altcoins were delisted in their exchanges, some do scam exit but this year is way better than 2018 as we see the pice of bitcoin and some alts are fighting admnd that we can be able to trade it particularly in its pump and dump days unlike in 2018 that is purely a failing price.
