How to create a good Project Development Thread

OVERVIEW: I have seen so many threads that are either "ANN" which are not allowed in this section, or threads that are simply links that don't offer any useful information. So I have decided to make a simple guide to make your threads more interesting and useful.

Description: A description of the project you are working on should contain information as to what the project is all about. You can give information on the background of the project and people that are involved if that is public information. It is often helpful to add information on your role on the project as well so Bitcointalk users know if you are an owner or just excited customer.

Development Timeline: A Development Timeline is an excellent way to keep users in the loop on the development side of your project. A timeline can include updates that you are planning, or can be a list of updates on your project.

Example:
Jan- We launched our website
Feb-
2/2/19 We are almost done creating our product.
2/19/19 We launched our first product
Mar- We received our first customer
Apr- Website Updates
May- Over 1,000 customers
Jun- We are getting ready to launch our second product
Jul- We are accepting ETH as a payment in addition to BTC
Aug- We are now able to do business in Canada
Sep- We have reached over 15 employees
Oct- New office opening in FL USA
Nov- We are growing our customers
Dec- NA

This is very helpful because it shows users who may have just stumbled on your project, all the advancements you have made. It can also show users who are following your project waiting for it to launch the new updates that will be coming soon etc

Helpful Links: It is always a good idea to have a hyperlink of your website, or information on where people can learn more. However this should not be the bulk of the thread, you should have quality information about it.

User contributions:  Explain to users how they can help your project. Maybe you are small and want to hire developers or other positions, so if you are then you can explain the help that you need. Maybe you want to call users to sign up for a newsletter to be notified when your project is life, and that they can help by sharing your project on social media.

Engaging the community: You want the community to engage with your project and ask questions. So you will want a nice section explaining that if anyone has any questions to ask, or give them an outlet to ask questions.

I am going to leave it here so that when people come to this section they might see it and click on it before making their own thread.

You deserve my merit for this one, this is one of the things that lacks on so many projects, they do not have a timeline about how their project come about, and good interaction for their potential investors, a new developer should see this thread for reference.

Nice introduction, but you ignored many things.
Announcement (ANN) is always for a project that has been finalized and is intended to be promoted. Therefore, this declaration is prepared. As for the development of the project, it focuses on presenting the idea to help to find people with the same interest.
Thus, the focus is on the project, idea, developers, other than the expected amount of investment or profits.

ANN threads do not belong in this section.

I'm planning to launch a project in the early or mid of 2021 and now I found this beautiful thread. This thread could be very helpful to me or those who want to create an informative and high-quality announcement thread. Well, great job!

This is a good reference for every developer who wants to create a dent announcement thread, announcement thread is very important, this is where all the information are detailed, the concept, the roadmap the plan, the goal and this where all potential investors will look first before going to the official site, so it's should be as professional as possible.

Yeah, I think the outline really does help. It is really hard to open a thread that just has links and nothing of substance and then say to yourself "this looks interesting I should look into it"

This is a great contribution from you I must stay. Most of the points highlighted are what is lacking in most if not all the project today. That is why most of them failed woefully ad there is no feedback and progressive report to the community.

I would also recommend that all projects, regardless of size be completely upfront about their financial situation. This means state exactly how much money you have to play with, how contributors will be compensated, or how the equity situation will work out.

There are far too many projects on here attempting to solicit free, or practically free labor by offering their worthless project tokens.

This isn't 2017, not every man and his cat can produce a successful project or obtain funding.

People shouldn't waste their time working for projects that lack the capital and/or manpower to succeed.

I would recommend that every product/service have an MVP before even trying to get help. If not, you better make it directly clear that you only have an idea.

This is very helpful. I've always done horrible for marketing. I think this is something I'm lacking, and will take reference here to get my new thread up. I posted a ANN yesterday, but I guess it's more appropriate if I post it here since I'm trying to gather a community here.

This is a helpful idea for the would be project announcement  rachat crédit locataire  (https://www.credimed.com/) creator and it is quite detailed.
Your information belongs to Meta section if i am not mistaking, try to move it.

We have added new functionality, new information sectors, and we now kindly ask you to let us know what we can do better.

The BPIP extension quickly shows me this thread gets bumped by throw away accounts every few months or so.   I'm guessing while you took a break from the forum, you kept this thread going.  I'll also remind everyone I've verified he has investment money, and he's not an idiot that will fall for a scam.

Lots of 1 post accounts go on my threads, but I don't own any of them.

This thread was made just to help people make better project development threads, but thanks VOD :)

I'm going to open this back up because it looks like a lot of folks need it. The project development page is slowly turning away from actually being about interesting projects people are building as it relates to crypto.

This is an important piece of guidelines you have in the op,  but unfortunately,  this section has not enough traffic and I feel those who actually need to see this aren't seeing it.
Maybe you might consider making a copy of this post in the Altcoins board which I believe have better traffic for proper exposure so that those who really need this information/guidelines will see and learn from it.

Maybe someday this can get pinned in the section. For now if we bump it, that is the best we can do to help people stay informed.
