Title: The 6 Biggest Cryptocurrency Fails of 2019
Post by: cheezcarls on January 02, 2020, 04:57:10 AM
In the past decade, the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry has gone from being the domain of computer engineers and coders to a widely recognized field brimming with potential and promise.

However, although the industry has witnessed impressive growth fueled by the success of several cryptocurrencies and the platforms that facilitate their use, it has also seen its fair share of epic failures.

If I were to choose among the six, it's Justin Sun's cancelled dinner with Warren Buffett...

Since he paid a lot of money to have a one-on-one dinner with the legendary (but a crypto critic) Warren Buffett, this is clearly much-anticipated. However, he cancelled the dinner and we were kinda pissed off as it's going to possibly change Warren Buffett's mindset about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

And about the Tesla giveaway by Justin Sun? Well, it's because the video can't be uploaded due to it's "large size". He could have chosen another platform for the community to upload the video rather than Twitter, which in fact, not using common sense.

Among the 6 cryptocurrency failures of 2019, which one will you choose as the worst of them all?

I focus instead on etherum which is delayed in its development, because it has a bad impact on the market because etherum is one of the biggest altcoins. in addition, the failure of the bitcoin ETF also has a big effect on the market so that the market tends to get stuck because there is no successful fork.

I think that bittorrent is the worst of the 6 failures because it makes many people believe it could have potential - but it didn't happen. Instead, after reaching an all-time high of $ 0.0018 at the end of May, BTT began a heartbreaking downward trend that needed more than 80 percent of its value in just seven years. Converting to the fact that BTT trading volume collapsed by 80 percent during the same time period made many people appreciate their return on digital currencies.

In the end, this caused the BTT / ETH trading pair to be released from Binance just a few months after it was launched, owing because it saw too much trading activity to free it from market manipulation.

For me the biggest fail could be the claim of Craig Wright as Satoshi and sued for Billions of dollars for his idiocy. This crook will continue to steal the show even if he looks idiot to the crypto community. I think this person will become the talk of the decade if he don’t stop assuming.

I focus on ETH and bittorrent among the 6 projects that failed in 2019, the failure of ETH here we know is an error in the hard drive that caused the price to not be expected, and also the timeframe that eventually led to a delay in the launch of ETH 2.0, but the most attention seems to be bittorrent, had soared and driven by the TRON blockchain system but had to fall and experience a difficult phase. Whatever is the obstacle 6 coins in 2019 hopefully can be fixed this year. I really hope everything gets better

Ethereum upgrade that repeatedly delayed
- that was I found out the worst among them. What is the reason? This is why Ethereum investors never think that this coin could be worthy of their trust. And such delays will lead doubts if the devs are seriously be doing this or just playing around. This seems to be a broken promises and I don't think that was creating a good reputation but it just building doubts inside,

thats why it will continue declining delaying it is not a better solution since we all know that more of the investors now is lossing the trust to vitalik and ETH.  It will result of more selller than interested buyers to invest in ETH.

Same here. I have more focus on ethereum as a holder and trader and I must say that I have been quite frustrated with the snail speed development and upgrade of the platform. Apart from that, Justin sun has been remarkably conspicuous at the center of most fails and controversies in Crypto including Craig Wright as wall for his infamous claim as Satoshi

We respect the decision of Vitalik Buterin who has delayed Ethereum 2.0 because there are many who are disappointed about this gal, but we also need to know that with this delay Vitalik will maximize Ethereum 2.0 so that there are no errors after launch.
The price of ETH is down maybe because of this hubbub too, maybe investors are also upset because there is no certainty about 2.0 so they prefer coins for the better.
But still hold firm ETH until recovering.

Although you're partly right on that point about btc ETF, I don't think it was fully implemented and there's no declared statement that it was cancelled or stopped. So there's still hope in the future that it might be launched, without any specific date. The effect of btc market is through it's results in the end.

for me the failure that I really disappoint is the update of ETH 2.0 which did not become a release in 2019, and what you say is also a failure which is quite disappointing as well. but with that failure we can learn to expect less about what hasn't happened. and we have to forget the disappointment a little because this year I am sure it can be even better

My own most dissapointing failure in the industry is steem, although it has a high number of users and supporters, constant delays in launch of SMT made a lot of people lose hope on the platform which also reflected greatly on the price.

your mistake is that you think something like steem has any "supporters". the fact is that nobody would have ever cared about it if there hasn't been a spamming platform for people to earn small amounts of dust. in other words those whom you call "supporters" are mostly the spammers who are trying to earn money otherwise people don't support centralized altcoins.

I did not reveal the worst but many people were disappointed with ethereum in the process of development which at that time the price of panic and ETH to the end of the strongest support and everything was astonished

Thanks for the article, I did not know about many things like BitTorrent got delisted from Binance! To me, Justin Sun's comedy-drama was the biggest flop in 2019! Justin sun is being another McAfee, a fake personality! He keeps destroying his reputation by giving fake, lies hopes and giveaways and so many dreams!

The issues above are indeed very hot in 2019 ago. But what became my highlight was the eth 2.0 update that was never coming. Finally, eth that I saved was sold and bought it into bitcoin. Because I can't wait without the certainty on the dev side.
In addition, CW is also very funny to fill in digital news. This person is always looking for sensation but looks stupid. If he is really Satoshi, just sell a few bitcoins in Satoshi's wallet as proof.

I think BSV is still the main fail of 2019, if he continue on this way i think the coins not have long life and will soon drop in price and there will not be anymore trade volume and he will lose this fight.

hardfork eth news gives new hope to eth developing, but until the end of January the news disappears, and I also doubt the development of eth. maybe it's safer to invest in bitcoin, and I will follow in your footsteps, it seems, to wait for a reduction in half the amount of bitcoin

I also think this, the ETH update that failed to achieve last year made me quite disappointed. maybe because I hope too ambitious about the ETH 2.0 update, it makes me lose control at the end of the year. but because ETH still provides potential, and small profits make me more receptive to failure for this achievement.

Too much drama that already made by binance and justin  sun vs binance just one from a lot of drama that happened last year. Another one just like when binance was getting a problem with one of crypto media platform just like blockcrypto.
Forget mcafee and he was getting a big problem caused by his reputation already destroyed and people in crypto has banned him from the consideration as crypto expert.

Drama is usually made into one of the advertisements that is done. sometimes a fuss indeed but usually they will be in the spotlight by the community.
and for McAfee I think it's better to forget him, the reputation in the industry is already bad because of the events he made himself.

do not be surprised! TRON became a Hype because Justin always tweeted on twitter about developments, but Justin is always exaggerating, it is bad because it can be a boomerang weapon for himself, see and it happens
