Title: How to start earning crypto? Bitcoin or altcoins?
Post by: coinproject on January 08, 2020, 07:23:07 PM
Hi members of this forum.

I am just starting in crypto stuff and I am a little confused beacuse the overload of information online. I've read that Bitcoin is not what it was used to be, or that mining is not profitable anymore. Also I've read that to make money it is better to work with altcoins.

What would be your advice for someone who does not own any cryptos but want to get some to enter in the crypto trade world?
Is it better to mine alt coins? If so, do you advice on one in specific?
And what is the  fastest way to earn BTC?  I have read that with signature campaigns but I am a newbie so I can't have a signature yet.
Any advice?
Thank you

This is your first post on bitcointalk, so you should concentrate more on increasing the knowledge related to cryptos over how to earn them for free.

Mining altcoins may nor may not be profitable depends on the miner's hash rate, coin you are going to mine and its market value but making bitcoins from signature campaign is definitely not the best way to earn them. Try trading you can make some faster.

Have you read the pinned messages of this board? If you read them, you must find out one pinned message telling about how to earn Bitcoin in several ways. Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1629118.0.

There are a few ways to earn Bitcoins, which differ in both skill and effort. A few things you can try:
  • Offer your services in the Service (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0)-subboard

I've read that Bitcoin is not what it was used to be, or that mining is not profitable anymore.
You can't mine bitcoin with your computer anymore. Bitcoin is now mined with specialized hardware called ASICs. You can still mine some altcoins with your computer and sell them for bitcoin, but unless you have very cheap electricity, you will likely end up at a net loss once you factor in degradation of hardware costs as well.

Also I've read that to make money it is better to work with altcoins.
Depends what you mean by "work". Most altcoins only go up in price when bitcoin is going up in price, and dump harder than bitcoin does, so longer term you are likely to lose money on altcoins.

And what is the  fastest way to earn BTC?
The fastest way to earn bitcoin is the same as the fastest way to earn any form of currency - work for it. If you have a service you can offer online, such as programming/coding, web or software development, writing, marketing, etc. then you might be able to sell your services for bitcoin. If you have a product you can offer for sale, then you can sell it for bitcoin. However, by far the quickest way for you to earn bitcoin is going to be to buy some with fiat. If you have a job, great. If not, getting a job and using your income to buy bitcoin will be much faster and earn you much more than almost any other option as a newbie.

I have been searching for websites paying in crypto, like freelancers website. I am bombarded in Facebook with ads that promise to earn money using apps, but I can say they are probably scam.

I guess I need to do a better research.

I have been searching for websites paying in crypto, like freelancers website.
Here's a list to get you started: https://medium.com/@cointastical/freelancing-platforms-which-pay-in-bitcoin-e38be56166df

I've not used any of the sites listed there, so I can't vouch at all for any of their reliability or trustworthiness. Make sure you spend some time to fully investigate and vouch the site before you hand over personal details. Also be aware that the market is very saturated with people who want to earn bitcoin from home. Not only may you struggle to find offers, but as I said before, your pay rate is likely to be less than what you could earn from buying bitcoin with fiat earned at a "normal" job.

If you are looking for freelance sites check this one below.

Also, check earn.com they have some tasks available or apply on some jobs available from their site I recently join on earn.com by just adding, tweet and like from the task I earn $1 each action in bitcoin.

And then for free coins, I think this one is good check this https://www.coinbase.com/earn
I think you can directly exchange them in coinbase or use that for trading purposes if you want to learn how to trade.

Also I've read that to make money it is better to work with altcoins.
In crypto, many Altcoin shills are praising "their" Altcoin, but finally the vast majority of them are just useless "shitcoins". I'm not saying that every Altcoin is a shitcoin and I'm also not saying that it's impossible to make money with alts but it's very speculative, much more than just holding BTC.
I've written a topic about it where I've compared investments in BTC vs. Altcoins, you can take a look if you want: Is diversification into different coins really a good advice for Newbies? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5199926.0)

Earning cryptocurrencies is no different than making money online. The only thing that changes is the currency and the payment method used. You can earn cryptos with the same methods (or convert to cryptos when you're paid). For example, there are some websites paying their members to take surveys and you can probably make the same than participating in a signature campaign here.

There are some other websites paying to complete small tasks (website testing, data extraction,...). Similar to Amazon Turc. I did it for UHRS during a time, after passing an exam, you won't be rich but hey, it's some extra money at the end of the month :p I can't refuse to make some bucks doing an easy job.

I repeat, earning cryptocurrency is the same as working to earn fiat online. However, aside from selling your services here mentioned above, there are website that pays fiat online such as remotask (https://www.remotasks.com/). These website allows their user to solve some task such as image annotation, categorization, image transcription etc., you can then convert your earnings into bitcoin and trade in an exchange (if you know how to trade).

I did some of the simple tasks available and get paid after a week in paypal but the starting payout is small that is why it requires a lot of hard work before reaching a higher payout.

Just DYOR before engaging in the website and I am not affiliated with remotask.

I think you need to have enough knowledge about crypto and work hard to earn from crypto Trade is the simplest way to make crypto work. You can make money easily by trading Also Bitcoin is better than Altcoin because Bitcoin is much older and its demand is higher than Altcoin That's why I think making Bitcoin is the best way to earn.

before i recomended something, maybe you can introduce yourself, like our background, if you are a student you can try learning basic knowledge about how bitcoin work etc.
if you want "just want to get free" you can try microearning in faucet, truely its very easy for starting.
if you have some money to invest learn about how to trade bitcoin, its really easy to get profit if you have knowledge in trading bitcoin.

you do realize that fundamentally there is no difference between these two lines?
whether you work hard and get paid in fiat (hard earned money) then invest that bitcoin or work hard and get paid in bitcoin you should still work hard and get paid. the only small difference is that you no longer have to take the extra step to exchange your fiat for bitcoin. but also there is the downside that finding jobs that pay a decent amount of money for your time is much harder not to mention all the extra scams.

The question is do you have enough money to run and maintain operations if you plan on mining? Many people who have entered in the crypto industry doesn't opt out on mining since it has been harder to earn mined Bitcoin as well as the hardware for it are on a steep price and that is including gpus. So they tend to opt out on a much realistic approach and that is either trading or investing in hyips the latter is a bad idea since you aren't really investing in legitimate project but on a scam. If you really want to own crypto then this is a good way but you still need to learn how to trade before you enter the market. If you don't like risking the money then maybe doing some freelance work in exchange for crypto is a much ideal way for you.

Yes, I already took a look at them and they have good advice. After reading some tips, I am looking for a kind of a freelancer website which offers crypto payments.

You can also consider finding a freelance work that also pays in fiat.

Used your earned money there to buy crypto.

That isn't much difference in what you are looking for which is earning BTC online and not with the hard-earned money. Generally, you need to work whatever the payment is. Why did I suggest this way? Because in general, there are lots of freelance works that pay in fiat compare to crypto so you need to consider that way instead rather than focusing too much on finding crypto payments.

This is a very good program for the beginners so if you want to earn while learning, you can try their tasks and this is for everyone. This is ideal for newbies that wants to expand their knowledge with crypto.

The rewards they have is decent and generous.

1. Day trading crypto
13. Invest in ICOs/IEOs
IMO, this isn't ideal for beginners but it could be someday.

I agree with you and thank you for your input.
But i meant hard-earned money by working in such jobs that require you to work no matter what or you won't get paid. Working online, on the other hand allows you to work for a certain amount of hours at any time you can. Also, you don't have to do any physical effort.

But I got your point, just that I prefer to see earnings on my screen and in case I lose them by investing in crypto I don't feel as bad as if it was my hard-earned money.

The first question which i ask from everyone who want to earn crypto or fiat is "What are your skills" ?
If you have skills you can earn online and offline both fiat and crypto and if you have no skills then you will not earn anything. Earning is independent of the form of currency either bitcoins or local paper money.

Buy the first top 10 cryptocurrencies.
Poor advice. Firstly, there is absolutely no guarantee that any coin or set of coins, bitcoin included, will be profitable in the long term. Bitcoin is by far the best candidate, though.

Secondly, market cap is an almost meaningless statistic. Just because a coin is in the top ten doesn't mean it is necessarily a good coin. XRP is run by bankers, the two bitcoin forks are scams, USDT is insolvent, EOS is centralized nonsense.

The advice for newbies should always be to stick to bitcoin. Once you've spent plenty of time reading and learning, then maybe you should consider one or two altcoins, but the vast majority of altcoins are trash.

Offering services or products and accepting Bitcoin is the fastest way to earn Bitcoin, for newbies here in these forum signature campaigns are not for you, and there's hardly campaign that offers Bitcoin for newbies, so your chances are nothing, before getting involved in Free Bitcoin, why not go the right way and this is learning everything and anything about Bitcoin and blockchain, this is how newbies start here and there is no short cut.

Bitcoin is better than Altcoin for making easy money You can trade for the fastest earnings from BTC but in addition to good long-term trading there are many bounty sections in this forum where you can earn money from crypto.

also try not to think of earning a lots since you are just getting started, gather information as many as you can, then when you became wise, then you can now think on how to earn

There are many cryptos exchange companies out there offering tips for beginners. You can start by going to their social media and reading up post that can help you understand more about trading. or you can try cryptocurrency trading simulations or start investing small.

As you go, you'll learn how trading works. Doing your own market/trends research is also very important as the market can always be changing. In the world of crypto, it is very important to understand and predict how the market pattern flows. Once you are experienced with how things work, you have already mastered the skill of observing market patterns and trading precautions! You can then start investing in bigger currencies.

You can also check out this link>>:https://digifinex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000639562--Community-Token-Listing-The-rules-of-Community-Token-Listing-Round-9
to find out how you can start small through a community or with friends.
This is a community listing platform where people can gather to create a community and earn reward tokens that can be traded in the market.
Here is the link for their current event happening now (till 17 Jan)>>: https://www.digifinex.com/en-ww/listing/apply

No one can master skills right away. So try not to rush, start by earning small, then slowly build your way up.

Hope this helps.

In my opinion, the easiest way is to invest in the first 5 currencies from the top. In this case, you don't need to do anything. But it will bring you profit over the next few years.

It seems OP is asking about earning cryptos not to make profits with that since investing will result in profit or loss.

I feel trading is the advisable one for people who have less capital and wanted to make more out of it.

If possible and have at least 18 years you can try join some airdrop who ask kyc like blockchain wallet will have some airdrop next month, or simply join some airdrops that not ask kyc, or you can try rank up here on forum and join some signature campaign but this will take time.

Referral program can also be added, just make sure to refer only legit websites and research whether they really paying every refer you make. There are also application add ons that are use to earn some token by installing or watching ads.

The amount of poor advice in this thread is staggering.

In my opinion, the easiest way is to invest in the first 5 currencies from the top.
Yeah, don't do this. You'd probably still make a profit overall, but only because the profit you make from bitcoin will outweight the massive losses you make on the other coins. You'd be much better just sticking to 100% BTC, or maybe a little bit of Ethereum as well. There is absolutely no point buying XRP, BCH, or BSV - they are all centralized scam coins, the first designed to make profit for the banks, and the latter two designed to make profits for their lying creators.

If possible and have at least 18 years you can try join some airdrop who ask kyc like blockchain wallet will have some airdrop next month
Again, don't do this. Airdrops are almost always completely worthless, and they certainly aren't worth the risk of having your identity stolen because you sent all your private details and pictures of your IDs to some stranger on the internet who will probably put your details up for sale on the black markets. Your privacy is worth a lot more than a few cents worth of some trash token.

There are also application add ons that are use to earn some token by installing or watching ads.
This is frequently how people get their coins stolen - by installing some unknown and shady app, add on, browser extension, or the like, which promises them free coins by using their computer to mine, or display ads, or set up a referral network, etc. Many of these programs are malware in disguise, and are capturing your screen, logging your keystrokes, altering your clipboard, or trying other methods to break in to your wallets and accounts. Don't use them.

Yup, the shitcoin boom has been long gone since 2017. I really missed those times though :D

In my opinion, the easiest way is to invest in the first 5 currencies from the top. In this case, you don't need to do anything. But it will bring you profit over the next few years.

You are right but I have various sites without investing in these first 5 coins in this forum Bounty, Airdrop Signature Promotions etc. You can also earn some of these but you must have knowledge of work before working.
Referral program can also be added, just make sure to refer only legit websites and research whether they really paying every refer you make. There are also application add ons that are use to earn some token by installing or watching ads.
Referrals if the project really pays is also a good sources of income from this industry. If you have lots of friends and if those people believes or
trusting you it will be easy for you to ask them to join. But like what you have mentioned, do your diligence to research and study first before
making or asking for your referrals. One mistake will damage your credibility.

Any advice?
Thank you

Right now is the best way to earn Bitcoin even a small amount of satoshis is great as the price is moving up, I highly recommend this forum Cryptotalk, I have an account here, and I'm earning 1000 satoshis, it's better than bounty campaign from ICO and much better than faucets where you are only earning 10 sats per claim.

And what is the  fastest way to earn BTC?

Hi, welcome to the Forum!

This is a classic question, i love this question from newer folks such as yourself because the answer is really simple. Are you ready for the answer?

The fastest way to earn BTC is to do whatever it is you do in this world that earns you the highest rate per hour/day/week/activity...and do that more or better than you are today...then buy Bitcoin with that income. That's literally the fastest way to earn BTC. Bitcoin is just currency, it can be bought, so you earning more income on the side from whatever it is you do and in whatever currency you can get paid is the fastest way.

To add to that, if you take your Bitcoin and deposit it into a wallet at freebitco.in (PM me for a link) they'll pay you 4% interest (annually, but paid daily) on your balance. Minimum deposit to earn interest is 30,000 satoshi (BTC0.0003). Then you're earning money as interest on top of that additional income you've been chasing.

1000 sat per post is very less and you should only work for it if you have no other skills. If you have some skills, then you may earn a lot more through freelancing and even if freelancing doesn't pay you in crypto, you can always convert your earnings in crypto and save it for future.

I think 1000 satoshi per post is not that low, its just a little bit below average but it still worth joining the campaign specially for the newbies because they don't have much knowledge about cryptocurrency trading or other works in crypto that they can earn money but even though you learn about those things the campaign for every post is still good for you can post after you do trading or other stuff. In crypto you should have lots of skills and know lots of things to way to earn money so that you can be successful.

Even the signature campaign is the fastest way to earn bitcoin here it is not easy just like that. You need to have a quality post and high rank if you want to earn a good amount of bitcoin. Most of the campaign right now always has required merits if you want to join in their campaign and I know you are just a newbie but do not lose your hope because as long you contribute here many people will give you merits as a reward in your contribution. For me, there is no fastest way to earn bitcoin and if you really intend to earn bitcoin just work hard and set a goal that will help you to earn. Doing trading and mining is not easy as we see and in mining, it required huge capital due to having expensive equipment while in trading it required skills like you should know how to do Technical Analysis and you need to know how to read charts in the market. If I were you why not try to explore all thread here and try to find a suited work for you where you will earn bitcoin and will help you to improve your knowledge about cryptocurrency.

I don't know why so many of you suggest trading as an easy option to earn (especially for for someone who is new to crypto). I mean yeah you're a noob go and speculate on daily price of an asset you don't even understand.
