Seems like just another company trying to profit off the word "Blockchain" to me.... People are crazy I guess.

How can they even call it a blockchain when you can't view it or anything? Is it Monero? :P

It is a blockchain with an undistributed ledger.  It's like crypto without all the public bull crap.

Panini probably faked the auction since no one really care about their 100000 dollars for one single card auction for total of 10 cards. In order to look good I think they just bought those cards themselves by setting it up internally. People who came up with these marketing completely destroyed the reputation of the company. Now no one care about Panini. It is a shame. They tried to fool people. Those cards should be randomly  distributed into the packs for people to have a chance. I am done with this company.
People who were royal to them for decades felt 100% insulted and dumped. Greedy B..  :)
  

The prices for some of the cards as true 1 of 1s actually went very cheap.  With this being the first 10 of 100 if panini was planning on screwing with prices they would have went higher.  $3k will ultimately be a steal for the ja morant and rui dual patch auto rookie card. dont think you could be any more wrong with your assessment, no offense. (closed blockchain stuff aside  :D)

That is an incredible accusation to make against one of the more reputable names in trading cards with no proof.  It could even be called libel.

Casascius  is legend - Panini is BS. They are nowhere close to Casuscius. It will be disrespect to Casuscius comparing these BS companies who want people to buy a one dollar piece of paper signed by jumping man for  1000000. The card should have been valued by the collectors from the ground levels. Not only they did not make any money they also defamed the legends for these cards.

I can come up with much better looking hologram card and get this card signed by the top player at the stadium front row. I just have to try 5 times to get them signed and get lucky one time. Do yo know thousands of people already have their autographs.

you are just speculating. The difference here is that they (panini) DID it, and you have not even tried to. In theory, everything seems very easy and simplified.

It's a free market out there... No one stops you from creating & selling your own cards (and if you strongly believe that you can do it better, then why not just try?).

And BTW Panini is a company trying to make a profit... not a charity giving away cards for free. You are not forced to purchase a card if you do not like it.

Don worry in the future you can rent or buy blockchain space like you rent or buy house then you can have a card singed from the stadium and put it on the rented or bought blockchain space, You don have to be a developer or own a company. These arent my cup of tea and I dont understand how "reverse auctions" work but they look really nice and are surely desired by those into sports. Even I know some of those names in round 2. :)

panini starts at 100k usd and every 5mins the price drops about 80 usd until someone picks the card for the current price (first come ...). if no one picks, then the price goes down to 0 usd after 4 days.
as you can see, kobe bryant went very early (at 61k usd at day 2), all other cards went in the final hours (end of day 4).

I can't wait to find your "[WTB] Like to Buy Listed Items"-thread updated searching for a Panini National Treasures Blockchain Card for "under $50 and of course shipping has to be included within the price".

or you can ask Panini to raffle one card for free as a post-xmas/pre-easter-gift  ??? ::)

Are they trying to market to South America ? Hasn’t really worked as Luis Suarez was the cheapest card! Sorry, just thinking out loud

Disregarding the kobe 1 off, my money would be on the Ja/RJ dual card going off around $4k ish.  Then the rest of the dominos start to fall. Unless we get a wierd sale again

My guess for the zion is $10k-$20k range.  No one is forking over a quarter mil on a card

RCs are always much more highly collected in the card world.  2nd year cards and on have a lot smaller value because there is so many of them.

Rookies "if" they turn out good are sought after because it's their first card (or first year).  That's just the way it is.  You can score an 87 jordon easily, 86 not so much.  2001 tom brady sp authentic versus his rc sp authentic in 2000 way different.  These cards are no different.

And on top of that fact..
These will ultimately be the best of the best rookie cards.  Cant really beat a one of one, rc auto with game used jersey all on one card.  So essentially this should be their most expensive card ever.

and as you assumed: the increments on the zion-250k-card are bigger (204 usd instead of 81 usd) so this card has the same hypothetic-end-time like the "ordinary" 100k-cards.

These blockchain cards appear to only available via the USA panini site . When I had a look at the UK website , there’s no mention of this auction at all ? Surely they are limiting their market? I know 9 out of 10 of each of the cards in each round are US sports stars, but even so.
Panini cards are huge in Europe ?

these two are exactly the ones I can not choose from - Mantle (legend since decades); Favre/Rodgers (1 HOF, 1 HOF in spe) and for me as Packers-fan a wanna-have-must-have  :D
