Title: Bricked RX 580 (MSI armor mk2)
Post by: samseoil on January 13, 2020, 08:12:37 PM
So I got a rx 580 from ebay and it was bricked when I got it ( I actually got scammed ). The fans starts to spin but there's no display output nor any signal to mouse and keyboard. I did some research and used the 1+8 method and booted using the iGPU and tried to flash the original bios with dos. But it says 'adapter not found' and doesn't let me flash the bios.

Then I booted into windows with iGPU and the device manager recognized a card , but it didn't recognize it was a RX 580.I used ATIflash on windows and flashed the bios. After that the device manager recognizes my card as a RX 580 but when I try to boot into it, it doesn't work. What could be the problem here ? Could it be a hardware problem ? Is this just dead or is there any hope of fixing this ? Please let me know !!

Yeah ebay will allow u to return it.  Just put a defective claim in.  The seller has to take it back.  I had the same issue with a purchase and sent it back got full refund.

Question for you.   Is this the only gpu using to mine?.   Do you have the display off the gpu or motherboard?

How about trying to clean the terminal of your GPU with eraser just testing and maybe it will recognize without any issue.
If not, then your final solution is to send it back to eBay.
Did you buy through PayPal?
In case you use Paypal when you bought the card you can dispute the transaction and just include the reason why you want to dispute the transaction before the scammer withdraws the payment.
