Title: Bitcoin Price
Post by: stskv on January 15, 2020, 02:04:39 AM
I had a bitcoin but withdrew like a month and half ago on coinbase to pay some college loans especially since the value kept dropping.  Obviously not the case now, I have $4,000 in the bank, what can I do now to make the best of bitcoin or can you give me strategies as it starts rising again?

You can buy some Bitcoin now if you are really a risk-taker or if you think that days from now Bitcoin will still be growing, maybe trudging the way to the $10,000 hill zone. In addition, since many alts are also moving, you can select some 5 good alts where to invest your money and encash them whenever you already realized a handsome profit. As you might already know, investing with cryptocurrency can be carrying some risks so always be informed and do your own diligence and at the end don't be shocked if you lose some money or better yet made some good ROI.

Separate your money for living and investment, if that 4k is for investing then, you can buy BTC now try to buy for lower price, and don't think of spending it, try to hodl at least 6-8 months from now, hodl is the best way for investment in BTC. Though there's someone who will tell you to trade, sure, if you know what's the success way of trading then do it, but if not, then hold is the recommeded choice.

Just to make sure that you use a secured device for hodling the BTC you have, at least desktop wallet such electrum in safe and malware-free desktop or a hardware wallet such ledger and trezor.

It's a big pain in the butt when the price o bitcoin increases as soon as you sell your portion of it but in your case i think you still have the opportunity to buysome and hold it as bitcoin halving approaches. Bitcoin price is likely to double with the halving approaching so it's going to be a good plan to earn some profits in this regard.

As much as how bullish I am on bitcoin, bitcoin is still a risky and speculative asset. If you're willing to invest in bitcoin, only put in the money that you're not going to need any time soon. Because if bitcoin drops in price and at the same time you suddenly need to sell some of the bitcoin for you to have money to spend on something important, you're screwed. Only you can answer your question. We don't know how much your income and how much your daily/monthly spending is.

How much is your balance for the loan? I'd advise you to pay that first so that you are free to do or spend that money in whatever and whenever you want. But if that's not easy and not the way that I think. If you have a spare money with your savings and that entire $4,000 is, wait a bit until the price decreases for the while.

But as much as possible be debt free first so that the experience you had before won't happen and if you have to pay for the loan and the price of bitcoin drops, you won't be feeling sorry for selling it.

the problem is what if you just need to use that money  you invested in BTC and time you need the money the price drop are you prepare to use that money even you are at lost? If you look at secure way you can just stay it in your bank. If you want to invest to bitcoin and aware that you may lose then you can buy now.

May be the price is little bit pumped right now specially today a jump of around 10% so if price will go down by same % by tomorrow you might loss 400 bucks. But market can go opposite so its better you make your own decision. Only invest what you can loss.

For me its better to wait a week or so, place buy order around 8000$

It's a student loan a little above $17,000 and I pay $189/month or ready.  I'm afraid the price won't decrease for a long time or how about if it never does again to $7,000.  Wirhdrawing was a risk in itself and a mistake, I plan to wait after investing again.

I can understand how mesmerizing it must be for you right now to buy bitcoin since the price has started increasing again.
But you know what, we don't know if the price would further keep rising or it will decline soon.
For me. most of the times when I invested when the price started to rise, it had a fall in price soon after I invested.
So I would recommend you not to go all in and just invest a small % of your amount and wait for the market to react.

Calculate what you need and what you can spare from the total that you have in your Bank. After calculating invest half from the amount that you can spare into Bitcoin this month and the rest next month. Wait till April and then sell.

Do not invest in any altcoins.

First off:

1. 99% of altcoins are bad investments, and not to mention that you'd have to time the markets really well to profit off it.
2. Don't invest in things you don't understand. So if you'd need to ask which altcoins to invest in, then I'd suggest you don't go for it.

I'm sure this isn't the reply you want to see, but someone just has to say it.

50% for bitcoin and 50% for altcoins, if the market will be again bullish, for sure your money will grow.
Look at today's market, bitcoin only increase 10% but the altcoins are already pumping, bsv, bch, and even dash, so just try to study which altcoins are good for investment because if they are legit, they will benefit in the bull run.

I probably consider you are late to ask for this time on which best way you could make your profit out of your $4000 dollar fund. Because in the past weeks, bitcoin is still at $7k price range which is quite acceptable to entry, but eith the market showing more potentiL increase, bitcoin might now be crucial to buy.

But if we could see some stable price range at 8-9k, probably the best way for you is to invest in bitcoin.

you should do research before trading bitcoin, learn to understand and analyze the market so that you don't regret it later on, You must have confidence and do not be easily influenced by the opinions of others, bitcoin trading is something that is very risky, so be wise in investing your funds.

I wouldn't buy bitcoin now. I would wait until the price is low and then buy.

As Warren Buffet says, the mark of a good investment is the quality of the business itself. In this regard the price that you buy the stock at is only important if you are overpaying. Thus, it is best to buy bitcoin when the price is low.

Before you invest your money in bitcoin, you should think that the money is not going to be used for your daily needs or to pay for your study, and that money is free to use. If the answer is yes, you can use half of that amount, which is $2000 to invest in bitcoin or use only $1000, but you don't have just to hold, but you can use it to trade to increase your bitcoin and fiat money. But that is only if you have skills in trading, but if you don't have skills in trading, you can just buy bitcoin and hold it in your wallet.

Before you buy bitcoin, make sure that you can buy bitcoin at a low price, and I think soon, bitcoin price will go down for a while to adjust the price before the price can increase higher again. Never use all of your money to invest in bitcoin, although you believe that bitcoin price will rise so high because that will be too risky for you. Besides that, you never know when bitcoin price can increase or decrease and how far bitcoin price will move, so it is better to play safe.

It would be a hard decision to make as bitcoin's price is bullish as of now but it might probably go through one more dump before the month of May, I would suggest you do daily trading if you have enough time in order to make some small profits and wait for bitcoin halving for the price to pump.

Do this only if you don't have any further personal commitments wherein you might have to cash out, This is my personal suggestion and again do a bit of research from your end as well and consider other expert's suggestion too.

Remember that there will not be an accurate answer here.
All will just be an opinion for the market is way volatile.

For my own opinion though. This could be the last we could see a cheaper price.
The value keeps getting higher since there are investors who are fearing a big pump may happen anytime.
In that case, the demand will grow and bitcoin will start to be hyped again everywhere.
Still, the last call is with you.
You could buy now or maybe wait a little more.

It really depends, are you talking to true BTC who understand the value of the fundamentals what BTC provides or are you talking to some sh*tcoiners, or people that are wanna get rich over night....

I do belief i'm a very good long time/term believer that has proven (only 100% known for myself of-course) that i'm not afraid or emotionally touched because of drops and volatility...

So if I speak then I just say what I would do myself and I think we are still very early and prices are still a steal compare with the upward potential, I honestly would buy the full amount and consider this to be your BTC start (only if you have some income to provide life supplies of-course).
After buying this BTC I just would suggest to monthly keep some savings apart to buy BTC with no matter what the price is just a fix time, sometimes price will be higher, sometimes lower but you will DCA your BTC-amount and same time you're just saving money in an asset you believe in.
Of-course also keep learning and try to gain the long term perspective :D

you have to manage your finances, you have to think about risk and not have to spend your money $ 4000 just for bitcoin, just use half or a third to buy altcoin besides bitcoin that really has good profit potential and also follows the price of bitcoin, for example ETH or others and my advice is don't ever try to invest in BSV because it will crash soon, but play at your own risk

It's a pity that you sold bitcoins for so cheap, but sometimes in life, we cannot predict the events that will happen. And with $ 4,000 at the moment, I think you should choose altcoin to invest, bitcoin is currently at a high price and it will soon be adjusted. Selecting altcoins in the top 10 will help you get more profits or you can wait for the bitcoin price to adjust and buy back with it

Man, it is not a good choice investing now comparing it from the previous price that bitcoin had last week. I couldn't even say yet that bitcoin might go increase for the next days. However if you had that 4k USD left as a spare money, may be you could deal with a half of it for investing the thing is choosing the right time. If you could still wait, then you may 'cause we ain't when will it go down and go up either.

Based on the current state of the market, it seems that bitcoin will really go at the price of 9000$. Why not invest 2000$ in bitcoin and the another 2000$ will be invested in other cryptocurrencies. It's just my only advice to you but the decision on your investment will still up to you. We really don't know what will be the next movement of bitcoin if this will go upward or downward but if you think that bitcoin will reach the 9000$ or it might surpass maybe this is the time to invest for you because once they hit that price you already earn an income.

Can you give me an example of a couple of altcoins?
I'm currently holding a different altcoin and those are Binance coin, Ripple, and Ethereum. I can simply say that this altcoin is good for investment and based on the coinmarketcap those altcoins have belonged to the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the market.

Your holdings is in fiat, if you want to get profit in cryptocurrency market, there is no other way but to buy Bitcoin.  But be aware that you will be taking risk when you do this.  We all know that Bitcoin is volatile and we do not know what will happen in the future.  All we know that the current sentiment of Bitcoin market is bullish and it is just starting to rally so the window to get in the current train is huge.

I just wanna say that before you're getting into investment make sure that your emergency fund is safe, so when something bad happens in real life and you need the cash so bad you're not gonna use your investment fund, and most importantly don't put all your eggs in one basket, you need to allocate or separate some of that money into some investments (invest in the safest first) trading crypto is so risky, I don't recommend people to invest all of their assets in one thing, spread them.

My question is, that $4000 your free money or money for school? if money for school i am not suggest to use it as investment. Nobody can actually predict about bitcoin price and a lot of them only speculate. If that is your free money maybe split into half and buy bitcoin save rest for backup will already good.

You should say it was like when the price was low and after the price at the pump you asked about this and I think it's too late because the price is already slightly higher.
If you have $ 4000 in the bank then do it wisely and if you want to invest in crypto then you have to be prepared with the risks later.

actually your chance is still very big, friend. That's because halving hasn't happened yet, so I think the potential price of bitcoin to go higher still is huge. other than that, I think you need to be patient in holding bitcoin. it's just that you need to know that this is a risky thing. we don't know what will happen in the future, but the potential price of bitcoin is huge to go up

in my opinion the first thing you should do is divide your money into two parts. for example you use $ 2k for living expenses and the rest for bitcoin investment. don't mix money for living expenses and investment money into one. then do research and analysis of bitcoin price movements. bitcoin is currently experiencing an increase but there is a possibility that bitcoin will dump again before decreasing by half. so in my opinion you should wait and see the bitcoin price movements. and buy when bitcoin has decreased.

If you really have Bitcoin on month and half ago, surely you know the crypto investment knowledge. The current market is growing well so many peoples are concentrate BCH and BSV investment, But too risky investment on rapidly growing platform. If you looking for mid term and long term investment, you will choose your convenient platform.

Investing in Bitcoin is different than what most people are doing now a days in the crypto community. I understand why he prefers bitcoin compared to say stocks which might crash at any given moment given the crazy bull run they had.

The issue with most new adopters is that they buy BTC and then they buy alts to get more money and they usually end up losing most of it. Or they go on some exchange like Bitmex and go 100x leverage and end up getting liquidated.

Buying BTC on spot and holding for long term is a pretty safe investment. No different than say buying TSLA or AAPL right now.

You have made the mistake and it’s very difficult to undo that mistake. I will not suggest you to go and buy bitcoin right now, as its going up and it’s not recommended to buy an upward going bitcoin. If you have 4k$ in bank then hold them in bank and wait for next bitcoin dip.

Dont try timing the market.  Buy as much as you can comfortably afford with the money you have and then go from there.  My recomendation from here and anyone is to incrementally buy week by week or month by month.  This protects you from sudden dips so you can cost average lower but at the same time be able to catch some of the rising prices with coin you already have bought.

when market conditions like this, quite a lot of people who want to return to buy bitcoin and regret having sold it at a low price. to be honest, I agree with your opinion. do not rush to assess this. if you want to have bitcoin back, think carefully about the benefits, so you don't regret it. other than that, buy according to your needs, and don't overdo it.
You will regret when you put it in 1 basket, but things suddenly turn out to be a boomerang for you

No one can give you fixed prediction about bitcoin. Maybe what we people can say is bitcoin will get halving and big possibility it can pumped like in last pump. But there are possibility halving not change anything and maybe people who dissapointed with it can sell bitcoin and make it dumped hard. Do your own research and people's research here and you can make decision from it.

when market conditions like this, quite a lot of people who want to return to buy bitcoin and regret having sold it at a low price. to be honest, I agree with your opinion. do not rush to assess this. if you want to have bitcoin back, think carefully about the benefits, so you don't regret it. other than that, buy according to your needs, and don't overdo it.
You will regret when you put it in 1 basket, but things suddenly turn out to be a boomerang for you

If you've learned to manage your funds and don't risk it on just one blow, you won't do that because there's no assurance for the market to stay on the current level. While the price was at lower costs, then buying time must be initiated and accumulation of btc holdings must be observed better. You can eventually grow your asset when perfect target is reached so you can sell when high price is acquired.

Buy now but I suggest just used $3k and reserve the $1k for emergency purposes. Even if the price goes down again, you still have money left to use and won't force yourself to sell at a lower price. You're not late yet if you were going to buy right now as we haven't reach a 5-digit price yet. It's either you take a risk or regret. If you will take a risk, you won't lose any as long you won't sell it at a lower price, all you need to do is wait for increase. The best time to buy btc is before a possible bull run.

It's a student loan a little above $17,000 and I pay $189/month or ready.  I'm afraid the price won't decrease for a long time or how about if it never does again to $7,000.  Wirhdrawing was a risk in itself and a mistake, I plan to wait after investing again.
You should do that and know the situation that you're dealing with. Don't commit into investment if you're at debt too although, it's a risk and reward mindset that you have there but be at the better place first.

If you have an amount freely and ready to invest and it won't affect you paying the loan, do it. I think you are aware of what you're doing and you're aware of the risk in bitcoin and what you're taking.

Agree with you on this strategy, this is a way to help us not to dump or sell when prices are falling because of emergencies in our lives. Always saving some money to solve those problems, OP didn't follow this strategy and now he has lost the opportunity to make a profit with bitcoin. But things are still not too late, now we can start buying and holding because the halving is still very far away

It is still save to invest in bitcoin now because it is still relatively cheap as it is still in the region below 10,000. The halving expectation is one of the factors that will rise price and this is the best time you can reinvest.

But it is better if he can find a low price so he can get more bitcoin. I suggest he not use all of the money he has but only uses some money, maybe half of the total money he has, so he has the other money as a reserve. But if he can accept the volatility of bitcoin price, then I guess that he can buy with all of his money, and hold it for a while. We hope that when the halving time comes, the price can increase higher, and maybe the price will reach $20k again.

If those $4000 is total amount of your current money then it could be risky to go all in for buy bitcoin and i think use only 25% from $4000 to buy bitcoin is pretty safe but i have to says to get cheap price of bitcoin currently a bit late because the rally has begun and in my view the best opportunity to get cheap bitcoin is last year so those who already buying bitcoin on last year will have decent profit if they sell bitcoin at the current price

Bitcoin is really doing good these days. I have seen a lot of predictions and they have all failed, though Dave on Twitter said there’s going to be an increase and he stated reasons, but there are other experts that have claimed he’s wrong so I can’t really tell where we are heading to. Based on what we have experienced in the past years, I guess there is going to be another bull run after the halving.

I am not having high expectations on Bitcoin because I know that anything can happen and we can be disappointed, so I always mind how much I’m investing.

I will agree with you when you said OP use half amount of his total money. Because with him reserve it, he can use the rest to something that maybe urgent or can be back up if his investment be not good anymore. Since i heard OP said that withdrew like a month and half ago on coinbase to pay some college loans, i think he must have spare money for that thing again.

Dont invest what you cant miss, If u want to buy Crypto but have to withdraw it for fiat later I think it is not a very smart investment.
Most people say buy 80% in Bitcoin and 20% in Altcoins, But I am more of a risktaker and buy a bigger % in Altcoins.

At the moment it is rising again and I would wait till the market is falling down a bit again and start buying where you think the lowest price will be.
Definitely do some research in to Altcoins and Buy Bitcoin and Altcoins that would be my strategy.

Just spend 70-80% of the money you have and invest in this market. and the remaining 20% you can afford to pay for life if there is a job to handle. I also went through your case, invested all the money I had in the market and then I had to sell them at the bottom to pay for the hospital fees. It was a first lesson when I entered this market, never spend all the money you have to buy something or invest in something

prices bitcoin can rise to level 10000 usd if bitcoin rise and stable above 9000 usd , because i think there is some small order sell in that support , i hope everyone hold and start buying again if some traders sold at this prices before and the end of bear market will end soon ; this is a good chance for buying under 10000 usd per btc

What strategies do you want? If you still have a problem with your school financially, I suggest don't use your money in the bank to invest because you might regret it if you fail. Especially now, you don't seem to understand your investment fully. But if you want to risk, be sure to yourself that you are ready when it fails or if you do have some knowledge about of investment and trading go invest and trade at your own risk.

Well, if he still needs money, I don't think changing it to crypto would be better. We say that because the crypto world is very risky, so there is no guarantee that you can still have $ 4000. however, you have the right to invest in anything, but think carefully. if you are impatient, you should not invest in crypto.

If you want to go invest it in bitcoin because i know you have knowledge on it you know how to deal in bitcoin. So much better to invest your money in bitcoin then hold it for a long time you must have more patience so that you will gain a good profit. Strategy is in your hand and your decision not ours you must believe in your own strategy than other.

I think you should buy bitcoin soon. because it seems like this year bitcoin will be bull run. because since these two weeks bitcoin has continued to increase at this time the value has reached $ 9k. but some say bitcoin might dump at Chinese New Year. let's wait if bitcoin is dumped then I think this will be the last chance to buy bitcoin at a cheaper price. because after bitcoin is reduced by half I think the price will continue to rise.

By now it must be a hot demand to consider on many potential buyers, though it wasn't transparent to determine which of them are really seeking bitcoin as a strong asset; they prefer to stay anonymous. We don't know when they'll strike the best target, just to partake the cheapest buying price.

Well, I'll just recommend you to purchase right now while it's not too late because Bitcoin halving is getting close because there is some speculation that Bitcoin will enter the bull trend. However, if bitcoins price goes well then you could still HOLD it and that is the strategy I can give, just HOLD and wait till the right time comes that you think would be profitable enough for you then sell.

I don't think Bitcoin price can fall because of Lunar New Year. In the past few years, the price of bitcoin did not drop too much when the Lunar New Year came, it had a small effect on this market. Most traders and investors in Asia will not invest in this period, and the market may be quiet for a while. And I think the current price is reasonable for reinvestment, 8600 $ is a low price in 2020 and certainly this year the price of bitcoin will go up because we are going to halving.

Enough if you want invest your money about $4,000 in bitcoin because you look get big chance for bitcoin right now have been with lower price, you can invest all your money and keep holding several days later to get much profit with your bitcoin investment. You have many chance when bitcoin still down and get later chance after bitcoin raising up to higher price.

Don't use your important money for investment, you should really put it aside. Moreover, investment does not guarantee profits in the short term. Please buy bitcoin in accordance with the nominal that you are willing to do if something happens like a loss. Never sacrifice important funds such as funds for daily needs for investment. Hopefully you can determine the best choice for yourself and your life. Good luck  ;)

Good to buy some bitcoin and in my view he may invest half of it or the amount that he is willing to invest. And the rest of his money is he can save it for emergency funds a wiser decision. For me not good to invest all since we know price of bitcoin is volatile. And once he invest already he can hold for long term or as long price is already profitable.

I agree, currently Bitcoin sentiment just turned bullish.  It means the Bitcoin rally is just starting, buying at this point will possibly give us a profit  when the rally reaches its peak.  Aside from that, Bitcoin is nearing its having, so more hype and bullish sentiment is thrown in the market.  Who knows, with this a FOMO might happen and that will really gives those who buy today a good chance for a greater profit in a short span of time.

You should have bought btc while it was cheaper i know its easier said than done but that's a fact when everyone is expecting good returns because of the btc halving. If you really want to earn good return then you should take the risk. Not all the time btc's price is dropping there are certain time it will pump.

Every money that comes in and out from our pocket or any digital wallet, is always important. So when we're going to invest there's no money excempted unless it's not a hard earned amount. Daily investments is always considered as very important. Don't classify them as having an specific gap in between, specially when spending them on cryptocurrency.

More hype means more demand but we should not stick to that mindset since there are volatility strikes gonna happen and for sure even the market is rising there will be a dump will occur but if you cannot drop off your what let capital at stake then you can split your capital on half for trading and holding.

Well it was already in the past, there is nothing OP can do about it right now.  All he can do is look for another opportunity to buy Bitcoin at lower price and I think today might be a good time.  There are still several months before the halving and Bitcoin rally is just starting and it is best to buy during the start of a rally then sell on or after the peak right before the price goes down.  That way he will get a good profit from his investment.
